5:	то́л͛кози и на прподо́бнаа пе́т͛ка пáме́ть що ѝ е просвѣ́тила по си́ч͛кы свѣ́ть	so much (shines) the remembrance of our Reverend Petka, which has enlightened the whole world
6:	не́ино чю́до и неинь, пос ко́и езы́кь мо́же искáза,	which tongue could retell all of her miracles and her fasting?
7:	що ѐ тїꙗ̀ сто́рила добро̂дѣ́тель	what goodness she did on the Earth
	на землꙗ на епи́вáт͛ско мѣ́сто,	in the land of the town of Epibates
	и на трáкїиско,	and in the Thracian (land)
	и на трь́новь,	and in Tarnovo
	и на ми́сїа,	and in Moesia
	и на дал͛мáти,	and in Dalmatia
	и нѐ ть́кмо по тїꙗ мѣ́ста,	and not merely in those lands
	амѝ и по си́ч͛ки свѣ́ть.	but all over the world?
8:	дето̂ нáшь ꙋмь не мо́же да дости́гне,	our mind cannot reach there
	илѝ езы́кь нáшь да искáже си́ч͛ко то нѥ́ино чю́до, и добро̂, и пос, и сль́зы.	or our language cannot tell of all her miracles and goodness and fasting and tears
9:	амѝ ть́кмо ко́л͛кото нáшь ꙋ́мь пости́гнь,	but only as much as our mind could comprehend
10:	и напи́сах азь еѵ͛ти́мїе патрїáр͛хь трь́нов͛скы̏, що̂ знаꙗх.	and so I, Euthymius, Patriarch of Tъrnovo, wrote what I knew
11:	амѝ и вїе блсве́ни хрстиáне послꙋ́шайте	but also you, blessed Christians, do hear
12:	Тáзи стаа и прподо́бна пе́т͛ка бѣ́ше ѿ мѣ́сто епивáти	that Saint and Reverend Petka was from the land of Epibates
13:	ѡць нѥ́инь, и мáика ѝ бѣ́ха добры̀ и блгочь́стивы,	her father and her mother were good and pious
14:	и хо́дѣха по бжїи заповѣдь	and they lived (ʺwalkedʺ) according to Divine Commandment(s)
15:	млсти́нꙗ чи́нѣха,	(they) performed deeds of mercy
16:	и дрꙋ́гы до́брыни бѣ́ха ꙋ тѣ́х	and (also) other good deeds were (done) by them
17:	и роди́ха тъ́зи чи́ста и хва голꙋбица и двца.	and they gave birth to this pure, Christ's dove and maiden
18:	и роди́ха и дрꙋ́го мꙋ́ж͛ко, и́ме то мꙋ ев͛ти́мїе,	and they gave birth also to another male (child), his name (was) Euthymius
	що̀ бы̂ нáпоконь на мáдїть епскпь.	who finally became the bishop of Madytos
19:	И наꙋ́чиха гы на страх бжїи, и на зáкон͛ добрѣ̀	and (the parents) tought them to fear God and His law (ʺthe fear of God and the lawʺ) well
20:	и прѣстáвиха се.	and they died (ʺpresented themselvesʺ, i.e. to God)
21:	и ѡстà стаа пет͛ка, със͛ брáта си̂ ев͛ти́мїа дето̂ бы̂ епскпь на мади́ть,	and St. Petka remained with her brother Euthymius, who became the bishop of Madytos
22:	и то́и мнѡ̂го чю́до показа тáмо.	and he did many miracles there
23:	защо̂ бѣ́ше и то́ѝ просвѣ́тиль със͛ по́сть и мнѡ̂го добрынѝ.	because he had shone with his fasting and many good deeds as well (?)
24:	затовà се и пост҃ѝ.	for that reason he was canonized
25:	и не́говы, мо́щи, и до дне́ска чю́дно исцѣлѥ́нїе чи́нѣть.	and his relics cause a lot of miraculous healing until today
26:	И стаа пе́т͛ка, ѿ като̂ погре́бе роди́телѥ своѝ, ѿрѣди́ гы добрѣ̀.	and St. Petka, since she buried her parents, she gave them their due well
27:	Тогáзи започѐ пос и метáнїе и бдѣ́нїе,	then she began with fasting, and meditation, and staying awake
28:	и поре́вна й се като̂ апсльскы̏ закон͛.	and it came to her mind (ʺit wanted to herʺ) as an apostolic law
29:	и на землꙗ без͛ посте́лꙗ ле́гнꙋваше.	and she laid herself on the ground without a bed
30:	И ѿ тꙋ́ка пáкь и се̏ испль́ни срдце́ то на ми́сль бжствнаа	and then her heart was filled by a divine thought
	да иде въ пꙋ́стинꙗ.	to go into the desert
31:	и побѣ́гна ѿ тáмо,	and she ran from there
32:	и ѿидѐ на пꙋ́стынꙗ,	and went to the desert
33:	и тáмо прѣбы́ваше аггл͛скыи чи́нь.	and an angelic host lived there
34:	и подражà и като̂ илїа, илѝ като̂ ıоáннь крстлꙗ,	and (it?) followed her example as (if she were) Elijah or (ʺasʺ) John the Baptist
	пос, и бдѣ́нїе и метнїе и слъ́зы.	(with) fasting, staying awake, meditation and tears
35:	стꙋ́дь и пе́кь, си́ч͛ко трьпѣ́ше.	cold and heat - she endured everything
36:	и въкꙋ́сюваше трѣвà мѣ́сто ꙗстїе.	and ate grass instead of food
	и то̏ по мáл͛ко нá вечерь	and (even) that (only) a little in the evening
37:	и млба непрѣстáнно чи́нѣше.	and she prayed (ʺdid prayerʺ) perpetually
38:	и нѝчто̂ да имаше ми́сль за ми́рь,	and she wouldn't have a thought about the world (?)
	илѝ за добрà ѡде́жда да се ѡблѣчѐ.	nor about good clothes to wear
	илѝ за до́мь и за сто́ка, и за имáнїе.	nor about a house and goods and wealth
39:	амѝ ть́к͛мо ꙫчи́ те и бѣ́ха сль́зы напль́нѥни и млба на ба.	but only her eyes were filled by tears and prayers to God
40:	и си́ч͛ка мы́сль бѣ́ше и ı наде́жда на га ба.	and all of her thoughts and hope were of the Lord God
41:	и помы́слюваше за вто́ро пришь́ствїе за бжїе сꙋ́дь.	and she thought about the Second Coming, about the Divine Judgment
	и кáкь да си ꙋкрасѝ дшь́ та, да срѣ́щ͛не ха ба съ свѣти́л͛никь ꙋкрасе́нь.	and how to decorate her soul, to meet Christ the God with a decorated (prepared) lamp
	и как͛во̂ добро̂ да сто́ри,	and what good deed should she do
	да чю́е тогáзи глас кро́т͛кь ѿ га ба.	to hear that meek voice of the Lord God
	и кáкь да сѝ испль́ни свѣ́тил͛никь със͛ мáсло	and how to fill the lamp with oil
	да ꙋлѣ́зе със͛ мꙋ́дры те дѣви́ци въ рáи,	to enter the Paradise with the wise maidens
	да се насы́ти красота рáискаа, и хꙋ́бость и свѣ́тло.	to satisfy herself with the heavenly glory and (the) beauty and (the) light
	и пѣ́сни аггл͛скы.	and (the) angelic songs
42:	ть́к͛мо за товà и̏ бѣ́ше мы́сль,	her thoughts were (directed) only for that
43:	и тврь́дѣ тьгꙋ́ваше съ срдце то си̂. кáкь да полꙋ́чи оновà добро̂.	and she yearned powerfully in her heart how to receive that boon
44:	И такà провáждаше своѝ живо́ть по ѡнъ́зи пꙋ́стынꙗ за мнѡ̂го врѣ́ме̂.	and thus she lived her life on that desert for a long time
45:	а лꙋкáвыи дїáволь не прѣстáнꙋваше да ю̀ плáши.	but the evil Devil didn't cease to frighten her
46:	и мнѡ̂го пъ́ти се̏ прѣтвáраше като̂ ѕвѣрь стрáшнь,	and many times (he) changed himself to a terrible beast
	давно̂ бы̂ ю̀ ꙋплашиль да остáви пꙋ́стынꙗ.	to frighten her (and thus force her) to leave the desert
47:	àми стаа пе́т͛ка имáше ба помо́щника.	but St. Petka had God (as a) helper
48:	и не прѣстáнꙋваха ѝ сль́зи ѿ ꙫчи́ те.	and the tears didn't stop (to flow) from her eyes
49:	и си́ч͛ка хы́трос дїáвол͛скаа исче́знꙋваше ѿ нѥ́ина та млба	and all the devilish cunning was vain because of (ʺdisappeared fromʺ) her prayer
50:	Так͛въ́зи си́ла бѣ́ше добы́ла ѿ ба.	such a power she had acquired from God
51:	и ть́и се бѣ́ше подкáнила,	and thus she had decided to live
52:	макáрь да бѣ́ше женâ	altough she was a woman
53:	àмѝ бѣ́ше испль́нѥна дха стго.	but she was filled (by the) Holy Spirit
54:	и бѣ́гаше ѿ нѥ́а си́ла дїавол͛ска	and the devilish force ran away from her
55:	и исче́знꙋваше като̂ ды́мь.	and disappeared as a smoke.
56:	двдь црь. за так͛визи же́ны пррокꙋ́ваше,	King David prophesized about such women
57:	и кáже,	and said:
58:	въжделѣ́еть црь до́бротѣ твоеѝ.	ʺLet the king be enthralled by your beautyʺ
59:	и такà стаа пе́т͛ка със͛ голѣ́мь пос прѣбы̂ мнѡ̂го годи́ны въ пꙋ́стинꙗ	and thus lived St. Petka for many years in the desert greatly fasting
60:	И въ еднà но́щь като̂	and (ʺinʺ) one night
	си чи́нѣше мо́л͛ба и метáнїе.	as she was doing her prayers and meditation
	и рꙋцѣ те си̂ вди́гаше наго́рѣ и плáчѣше.	and she raised her hands high and wept
	и нáпрасно видѣ̀ бжст́вно видѣ́нїе	and suddenly she saw a divine apparition
61:	еди́нь аггль и се̏ ꙗвѝ като̂ нѣ́кои млáдь мом͛кь.	an angel appeared to her as a young boy
62:	и свѣ́ти, като̂ свѣщь.	and (he) shined as a candle
63:	и ре́че е́и.	and he said to her:
64:	да ѡстáвишь пꙋ́стынꙗ та,	ʺ(you should) leave the desertʺ
65:	и идѝ си̂ пáкь назáдь на твоѐ ѿчьство.	ʺand go back to your homelandʺ
66:	защо̂ тáмо ты̏ подобáе (да) си̂ ѡстáвишь тѣло́ то.	ʺbecause it is good for you to leave your body thereʺ
67:	а дшá та ти ще̏ (да) бꙋ́де на крáсныи и не вещесть́вныи рáи.	ʺand your soul shall be in the beautiful and immaterial Paradiseʺ
68:	Като̂ (ви́)дѣ стаа пе́тка товà видѣ́ние, и чю тїꙗ́ д(ꙋмѝ).	as St. Petka saw this apparition and heard those words
	разꙋмѣ̀ че ѐ ѿ ба товà видѣ́нїе	she understood, that this apparition was from God
69:	и познà (чї) щѐ да се прѣстáви ско́ро,	and she found out that she will die soon
70:	и зарадꙋва се	and she was glad
71:	и грї(ж)ѣше се	and she worried:
72:	как͛ си̂ остáвѣ пꙋ́стынꙗ та.	ʺhow can I leave the desert?ʺ
73:	защ(о) не мо́же ни́що дрꙋ́го да ѡчи́сти члкꙋ дш(а) (та), като̂ пꙋстынꙗ.	because nothing else can purify the human soul as a desert
74:	И тогазѝ стаа пет͛ка като̂ чю̂ ѡ́н͛зи глàс,	and then, as St. Petka heard that voice
	и да и сѐ не щѣ́ше.	even though she didn't want
	à тїꙗ ѡ́стáви ѡнь́зи пꙋ́стынꙗ.	she left that desert
75:	И поидѐ прь́вѣнь на цáригрáдь,	and first she went to Tsarigrad
76:	и ꙋлѣ́зе ꙋ црква хва.	and entered the church of Christ
77:	и млба непрѣстáнно чи́нѣше.	and she prayed (ʺdid prayerʺ) perpetually
78:	как͛ да искáже члкь то́л͛кози метáнїа и по́клоны и сль́зы	how could one describe so many kneelings and meditation and tears
79:	и си́ч͛ки днѝ и но́щи на бдѣ́нїе, бѣ́ше.	and she was awake for all the days and nights
80:	и плáчаше и тьгꙋ̀ваше за пꙋ́стынꙗ та.	and she wept and craved for the desert
81:	и ѡбыдѐ сич͛кы цркви, като̂ еднà пчелà рабо́тнаа	and she visited all the churches as a diligent bee
	що̂ ѡ́б͛ходи си́ч͛ки цвѣ́тоовѣ пролѣ́тны.	which visits all the vernal flowers
82:	и поиде ꙋ црква прстѣ́и бци, что̂ сѐ зовѐ влахе́рна.	and (then) she went to (the) church of most-holy Mother of God which is called Blachernae
83:	и тáмо припáде на ико́на прстѣи бци	and there she came (ʺfellʺ?) to the icon of most-holy Mother of God
84:	и сль́зи ѿ ꙫчи те си̂ мнѡ̂го излїӑ.	and she poured a lot of tears from her eyes
85:	и дꙋ́маше и млꙗше се бци.	and she said and prayed to the Mother of God:
86:	Те́бѣ̀ влдчце що си̂ на си́ч͛ки свѣ́ть,	ʺUpon yourself, o Lady (ʺwhich isʺ) of the whole worldʺ
	и породи́ла есѝ га ба.	ʺand who gave birth to Lord Godʺ
	азь мо́ѝ живо́ть ꙋ́ те́бе ѡ́стáвих.	ʺto yourself I dedicated (ʺleftʺ) my lifeʺ
87:	и на тебѣ̀ се надѣ́ꙗ да ме̂ поми́лꙋвашь.	ʺand in yourself I hope that you have mercy upon meʺ
88:	и не дѣ́й се гнꙋсѝ ѿ ме́не що̂ съм твоà робы́нꙗ.	ʺdon't turn away in disgust from me, your servantʺ
89:	защо̂ и́ áзь ѿ млáдость, твое́мꙋ снꙋ послѣдовах	ʺbecause I followed your son and prayed since my youthʺ
90:	и млю се.	ʺand I pray (you)ʺ
91:	и ты̏ знáешь двце мо́е то же́н͛ско ѥсство и мо́а слáбость.	ʺand you know, o Virgin, my womanly nature and my weaknessʺ
	що ѐ на мо́а та дша озно́ба.	ʺwhich worries my soulʺ (ʺwhich is my soul's worryʺ)
92:	àмѝ и ты̏ стаа бце,	ʺbut you, o St Mother of Godʺ
	ты̏ ми бꙋдѝ помо́щница.	ʺyou be my helperʺ
93:	защо̂ о́свѣ́нь те́бе на дрꙋ́го мѣ́сто надежда не ймам.	ʺbecause I have no hope at another place than by yourselfʺ
94:	амѝ ты̏ ми бꙋдѝ настáвница	ʺbut you be my teacherʺ
	да ме̂ настáвишь на добро̂ и на покаáнїе	ʺso that you leads me to the goodness and remorseʺ
95:	ты̏ да ме̂ оꙋ́пáзишь ѿ си́ч͛ко зло̏.	ʺ(so that) you shall protect me from all evilʺ
96:	защо̂ когà бѣ́х въ пꙋ́стынꙗ, те́бе и́мах помощница.	ʺbecause I had yourself as my helper as I was in (the) desertʺ
97:	à сегà сѐ врь́нах въ ми́рь.	ʺbut now I have returned into (the) worldʺ
98:	àмѝ пà́кь и сегà ме̂ ꙋчю́ваи и ꙋпазѝ,	ʺbut now, hear and protect me againʺ
99:	и помо́щница ми бꙋдѝ,	ʺand be my helperʺ
100:	и покры̂и ме̂ ѿ сич͛ко зло̏.	ʺand cover me from all evilʺ
101:	И товà се помо́ли,	and thus she prayed
102:	и плакà ѿ си́ч͛ко срдце.	and wept from all heart
103:	И излѣ́зе,	and she left
104:	и трь̀гна да и́де на сво́е то си̂ ѿчьство.	and went (ʺto goʺ) to her (ʺownʺ) homeland
105:	и дойдѐ, до епивáти что̂ бѣ́ше не́ино ѿчьство.	and came to Epibates, which was her homeland
106:	и прѣбы̂ тамо̂ врѣ́ме не мáло,	and stayed there for quite some time
107:	и ни́кои не познáваше ю̀.	and nobody recognized her
108:	и тáмо пос метнїе бдѣ́нїе,	and there (she did much) fasting, meditation (and) staying awake
	ко́и мо́же искáза.	who could tell (how much?)
109:	Врѣ́ме нѣ́кое проми́на се,	some time passed
110:	и познà че̂ щѐ да се прѣстáви.	and she understood that she will die (soon)
111:	и сто́ри си̂ млба на ба,	and she gave (ʺdid herʺ) a prayer to God
112:	и рче съ слъзы.	and said with tears:
113:	Члколю́б͛че влдко,	ʺo Lord, Lover of humansʺ
	да нѐ остáвишь ме́не що̂ съ́мь рáба твоà,	ʺdo not leave me, (who am) your servantʺ
	дето̂ съ́мь радѝ и́ме твоѐ ѡстáвила си́ч͛ко.	ʺwho has left everything for your nameʺ
114:	и к тебѣ̀ прибѣ́гнах.	ʺand to yourself I ranʺ
115:	àмѝ ги бе мо́й, повелѝ áгглꙋ, ми́р͛но	ʺbut, my Lord God, give a calm command to an angelʺ
	да ми̂ прїе́млѥ дшъ́ та.	ʺto receive my soulʺ
116:	и да ми̂ не бꙋ́де забрáнѥно да ꙋлѣ́за на твоѐ црство, ѿ не чи́сты и скврь̀ны бѣсѡве,	ʺand that I wouldn't be barred from entering your kingdom by unpure and tainted demonsʺ
117:	ами ме̂ сподобѝ без͛ страх да стáнъ̂ прѣд тво́и стрáшныи прѣсто́ль.	ʺbut make me worthy to stand without fear before your awesome throneʺ
118:	оти си̂ блсве́нь ги вь вѣ́кы	ʺbecause you are blessed, o Lord, in eternityʺ
119:	ами́нь.	ʺamenʺ
120:	И товá се помо́ли,	and thus she prayed
121:	и то́ꙗ час прѣдáде си дшь та бꙋ.	and in that moment she turned her soul over to God
122:	и тѣло́ то и̏ погре́боха нѣ́кои хртїáне,	and some Christians buried her body
123:	и не познá ꙗ̀ нѝкои, догдѐ и погре́боха ю̀.	and no one knew her, as they buried her
124:	нѝ знáꙗха ю̀. ѿ кыдѣ̀ бѣ̏ дошлà.	nor they knew where she had come from
125:	И такà прово́ди днѝ те своѝ тꙋ́ка нá землꙗ.	and thus she passed her days here on the Earth
126:	à тáмо наидѐ голѣ́мь поко́и.	and there she found peace
127:	А̀мѝ и тꙋ́ка гь бь не остáви ѧ̀, да еѐ за мнѡ̂го днѝ съкры̂ена нá землꙗ,	but even here, Lord God wouldn't leave her hidden in the Earth for long
	и да ѐ без͛ пáметь нѥ́ино то чи́стое и стоѐ тѣ́ло.	to leave her pure and holy body to remain without rememberance
128:	àмѝ покáза чю́до ди́вно зарадѝ нѥ́ины те сты́е мо́щи.	but he showed a miracle on her holy relics
129:	Нѣ́кои по́стникь имáше тáмо	there was a hermit
130:	на стлъ́пь прѣбы́ваше,	he lived on a pillar
131:	и по́стеше се бли́зꙋ при ѡ́новà мѣ́сто где̏то е бы́ль гро̂бь стѣ́и пе́тки.	and he fasted near the site of the St. Petka's grave
132:	И слꙋчи́ се тà ꙋмрѣ̀ нѣ́кои корáбникь,	and it came to pass, a sailor died
133:	и фрьли́ха го тáмо бли́зꙋ при ѡ́н͛зи стлъ́пь.	and they threw him there, close to that pillar
134:	и почѐ да исхо́ди смрàдь ѿ нѥ́го зль̏,	and a terrible stench started to come out from him
	ко́л͛кото векѥ̀ не мо́жаше тáмо да поми́не члкь ѿ зла̏ мириз͛мà.	so much that one couldn't pass by because of the stench
135:	зáедно̂ и ѡ́н͛зи стль́пникь векѥ̀ не можѐ да трь́пѝ ѡ́н͛зи смрàдь.	neither the stylite could suffer that stench
136:	амѝ слѣ́зе ѿ ѡн͛зи стлъ́пь,	so he climbed down from the pillar
137:	и наиде́ члци	and he found some men
138:	и повелѣ̀ и́мь да ископáють трáпь голѣ́м,	and he commanded them to dig a big hole
	да тꙋ́реть оновà тѣло̂. что̂ смрьдѣ̀ше.	to throw that stinking body (down there)
139:	И ѡнїа члци послꙋ́шаха ѡ́ного́зи по́стника.	and those people obeyed the hermit
140:	и поидо́ха тáмо	and they went there
141:	и зе́ха да копáють	and started to dig
142:	и наидо́ха тѣло́ то стѣи пе́ткы цѣ́ло и хꙋ̀баво	and they found the body of St. Petka, healthy and beautiful
143:	и миризмà хꙋ́бава ко́л͛кото нави́ваше, тáзи мириз͛мà на ѡ́н͛зи смрàдь	and how (her) beautiful scent covered the odor of that stench!
144:	И ѡнїа члци бѣ́ха глꙋ́павы и не разꙋ́мны,	and those people were dumb and irrational
145:	и не мого́ха да се̂ ꙋсѣ́теть за оновà стоѐ тѣ́ло.	and they couldn't understand that (it was a) holy body
146:	защо̂ и нѝкои не знáаше че ѐ тáмо погре́бена стаа пе́т͛ка,	because nobody knew that St. Petka was buried there
147:	о́ти бѣ́ше о дáвна бы̀ла погре́бена.	because she was buried since long
148:	àми се мнѡ̂го чюди́ха, кáкь да сто́реть.	and they wondered a lot what should they do
149:	и ре́коха си̂ ме́ждꙋ себѣ̀	and they said to each other:
150:	ко́и пáкь да копáе на дрꙋ́го мѣ́сто,	ʺwho would dig elsewhereʺ
151:	àми ѐ тꙋка то́изи гро̂бь до́ста широ́кь и гльбо́кь,	ʺthis grave here is wide and deep enoughʺ
152:	да тꙋ́риме̂, и онáзи мрь̀ша да нѐ смрьдѝ,	ʺlet's throw that corpse (here) as well, so that it doesn't stinkʺ
153:	à то̂ ако бꙋ́дѥ товà сто тѣло̂. бь ще́ го извáди.	ʺand if it would be a holy body, God will take it outʺ
154:	и заринаха ѡнъ́зи мрь̀ша тáмо̂ при сто̂е оновà тѣло̂.	and they buried that corpse there next to that holy body
155:	и разыдо́ха се по домá си.	and they all went home
156:	И ѿ тѣ́х нѣ́кои члкь геѡ́р͛гїе, име то мꙋ хртїáнинь до́брь,	one of them (was) a certain Georgi, a good Christian
157:	и то́и като̂ си поидѐ домâ си. и по вечрѣ нáпоко́нь, стънъ̂ да се помлѝ бꙋ	and as he also went home and dined, he stood up to pray to God
	като си̂ чи́нѣше сѣ́когы млба мнѡ̂го.	as he always did, doing a lot of prayer
158:	И на съ́(м)нꙋване заспà.	and at the twilight he fell down asleep
159:	и видѣ̀ еднâ женâ като̂ еднâ цáрица,	and he saw a woman (looking) like a queen
160:	и сѣдѝ на сто́л͛ злáть свѣ́тли́кавь.	and she sat on a shiny golden throne

166:	и е́ди́нь ѿ онїа хꙋ́бавы и свѣтлы́кавы мѡ́м͛ци, пристъ́пи	and one of those beautiful shiny young men stepped to him
167:	и ꙋзе́ го зá рꙋка,	and he seized his arm
168:	и рче мꙋ.	and he said to him:
169:	станѝ геѡ́р͛гїе	ʺstand up, Georgi!ʺ
170:	и о́ти сте такà сто́риле,	ʺand as you did soʺ
171:	та стѐ остáвиле оновà тѣло̂ воне́що. при тѣло́ то стѣ́и пе́т͛кы.	ʺas you left that stinking body next to the body of St. Petkaʺ
172:	àмѝ ско́ро да по́йдешь	ʺyou shall go quicklyʺ
173:	и да извáдишь мо́щи те стѣ́и пет͛ки.	ʺand you shall retrieve the relics of St. Petkaʺ

178:	ско́ро извадѣ́те мо́и те мо́щи.	ʺretrieve my relics quicklyʺ
179:	и положѣ́те на хꙋ́баво мѣ́сто.	ʺand put (them) on a nice placeʺ
180:	защо̂ не мо́гꙋ да трьпим áз͛ь за мнѡ̂го то́изи смрàдь.	ʺbecause I can't suffer that stench anymoreʺ
181:	не бои́ш͛ ли се ба, да нѐ бы̂ пꙋсти́ль бь ѡ́г͛нь да вы̂. попáли.	ʺdon't you fear God that he'd cast fire to burn you?ʺ
182:	И áз есъмь члкь ѿ мáика и ѿ бащâ роде́на.	ʺand I am a human (too), born from a mother and a fatherʺ
183:	и моѐ ѿчьство епивáти що го̂ зовѣ́те. и де́то сте вы̂е сегâ на нѥ́го.	ʺand my fatherland (is) Epibates, as you call it and where do you live nowʺ
184:	И прѣз͛ тьзи но́щь и дрꙋ́га же́нâ добрâ хрстїáн͛ка име то е́и Єфи́мїа. и тїà такво́зи видѣ́ла,	and in that night another woman, a good Christian, her name was Euphemia, saw such (a vision)

187:	ско́ро ꙋ́трѣ рáно да кáжешь товâ, да вы̂ ѿ ба ѡ́г͛нь не из͛горѝ.	ʺyou shall tell that early in the morning, so that you won't be burned down by the fire of Godʺ
188:	И на ꙋтрѣ излѣ́зоха и два̏ та,	and the both went out in the morning
189:	и казáхꙋ на си́ч͛ки тáмо по коне́ць.	and told to all who where there to the end
190:	И като̂ чю́ха товà Єпивáтсцїи лю́дїе. ско́ро си́ч͛ки те́коха,	and as the people of Epibates heard it, they all hurried (to the grave)
191:	и със͛ голѣ́ма рáдость извáдиха, мо́щи те ѥ́и като̂ нѣ́кое мнѡ̂гоцѣ́нно скро́вище	and they retrieved her relics with great joy, as a very precious treasure
192:	и мнѡ̂го се чюди́ха на нѥ́ино то сто́е тѣ́ло.	and they wondered a lot about her holy body
193:	ѿ то́л͛кози врѣ́ме кáкь стоѝ цѣ́ло и крáсно,	how could it stay so healthy after so much time
	и блгоꙋхáе, и ѿ хꙋ́бава мириз͛мà да сѐ члкь не насы́ти.	and (how could it) smell of beautiful scent, so that one cannot stop smell it
194:	И ꙋзе́ха оновà тѣло съ свѣ́щи, и със͛ кади́л͛ници, и съ ѳїмїáнь и и́з͛мѷ́р͛но, и дрꙋ́гы хꙋ́бавы аромáѳи.	and they took that body with candles and censers and thyme and myrrh and other beautiful incenses
195:	и ѿне́соха ю̀ със голѣ́ма рáдос,	and carried her away with great joy
196:	и поло́жиха ѧ̀ въ црква стых áпсль.	and they laid her in the Church of the Holy Apostles
197:	И тáмо мнѡ̂го чю́до сто́ри тогáзи стаа пе́т͛ка.	and St. Petka then performed many miracles there
198:	бѣ́снїи исцѣлѣ́ха, и бо́л͛нїи, и глꙋ́хы, и еѕàвы.	the mad were cured, and the ill, the deaf and the wounded as well
199:	и ѿ сѣ́как͛ви бо́лесть, коѝ дохо́ждаха, и вѣ́ра и́маха чи́ста, и любо́вь ѿ си́ч͛ко срдце на стаа пет͛ка, то́ꙗ час исцѣлѣ́ваха.	and those, who came, and had pure faith and love for St. Petka from the whole heart, were cured from any illness instantly
200:	И прочю́ се по си́ч͛ка землꙗ̀ Єпивáт͛ска.	and she became famous throughout the whole land of Epibates

203:	ослáбнъ грь́чьско цáр͛ство.	the Greek kingdom became weak
204:	и със͛ бжїе повелѣ́нїе, дойдо́ха римлꙗ́не	and the Romans came by the divine command
205:	и прѣеха, цáригрáдь.	and they took Tsarigrad

	зáедно̂ и сты̀ мо́щи.	together with holy relics
210:	и си́ч͛ко ѿне́соха въ ри́мь.	and they carried everything away to Rome
211:	Товà като̂ видѣ́ха и дочáкаха цáрогрáждане, и блгочь́стивы събо́р͛. въз͛дъ́хнꙋ тврь́дѣ,	as the Tsarigradians saw and suffered that, the Holy Synod sighed heavily
212:	и голѣ́м скрь̀бь, и голѣ́ма тъгà и́маха тогáзи.	and they were overcome with great sadness and sorrow
213:	и хо́дѣха като̂ мрь̀твы	and they walked as dead

220:	И въ товà врѣ́ме, блгочь́стивы̏ цáрь трь́нов͛скы̏ ıѡáннь асѣ́ню. снь стáримꙋ бль́гар͛скымꙋ цáрꙋ асѣ́ню. крѣ́п͛ко дрьжáше тогáзи цáрство.	and in that time John Asen, the honorable King of Tarnovo, son of the old Bulgarian King Asen, held his kingdom fast

	и си́ч͛ка землꙗ̀ ѳеталїи́скаа.	and all the land of Thessaly
225:	и тривáлїа ꙋзѐ. такà и дал͛матїа. що ѐ арбанáш͛ка дрьжáва.	and he took both Triballia (Serbia) and Dalmatia, which is a country of Albanians
226:	и прѣе̏, и до дрáча,	and he conquered (it) up to Dyrrhacium
227:	и по си́ч͛ки землѝ где̏ прѣе́. постáви митрополи́те и епскпы, свѣ́тлїи и блгочь́стивїи	and he placed bright and honorable metropolites and bishops to all the lands he conquered
	със͛ нѥ́говы стыѝ хрисо́вꙋли. що съ̂ сегà ꙋ слáвна лáвра ꙋ стѣѝ го́рѣ.	by his golden bulls, which are now stored in the famous lavra on the Holy Mountain
228:	и нѐ ть́кмо тїа землѝ. като̂ прѣе́. дá се остáви, и да мꙋ̂ се досадѝ.	and he wasn't satisfied by the lands he conquered
229:	àмѝ поидѐ и на цригрáдь	but he marched to Tsarigrad as well

239:	и оꙋ́мы́сли еди́нь з͛го́ворь до́брь и бꙋ оꙋ́го́день.	and conceived good terms (of peace with Franks), pleasing to God

	и сще́нници ѡблѣ́чени съ сще́н͛скы ѡде́жды.	and clerics clothed in ceremonial robes

266:	И като̂ раз͛брà блгочь́стивыи црь ıѡáннь асѣ́нь. че̂ но́сеть мо́щи те стѣ́и пе́т͛кы.	and as the honorable King John Asen found out that they bring the relics of St. Petka

	И си́ч͛ки лю́дїе ѿ грáдь.	and all the townspeople
267:	и идо́ха си́ч͛кы пѣ́ши ѿ грáдь на четы́ри пъ́прѝща.	and all went out of the city on foot for four shots
268:	и срѣ́щньха ю̏ съ́с͛ мнѡ̂го по́честь.	and met her with great honors
269:	и п(о)кло́ни се цáрь до́ землѥ,	and the king bowed to the ground
270:	и цѣловà ѥ́и рꙋ́цѣ и тѣ́ло чь́снѣ̂.	and he kissed her hands and body honorably
271:	и си́ч͛кы по́чьстном͛ поклони́ха се и цѣловáха ю̏.	and everyone honorably bowed to her and kissed her

273:	и положи́ше ю̏ въ лѣ́то ѿ ро́ждьства хва ·҂асв·	and they placed (her) there in the year from the Birth of Christ 1202
274:	разли́чно чю́до исцѣлѥ́нїе чи́ни и до дне́сь.	and she does miraculous healings until today
275:	ко́й съ́с͛ чи́ста вѣ́ра прихо́жда на не́йнь ков͛че́гь.	(to everyone) who comes with pure faith to her coffin
