4:	vъ toi vesi rodi sę staę i prpdbnaę paraskevia ot roditelei blgočestivyxъ	in that village, the holy reverend Parascheve was born to pious parents
	xodęštixъ vo vsěxъ zapovědexъ bžiixъ ne uklonno	following all the Divine commands without going astray
	mlstinęmi i blgotvorenъmi vsju svoju oukrašajuštixъ žiznь	making their lives beautiful by alms and good deeds
5:	i že i siju vospitaša čstuju golubicu xvu vъ podobněxъ nravěxъ	and they raised this good, pure dove of Christ in good manners
6:	i zakonu bžiju dobrě tu nakazavše	and after they taught her the Divine Law well
	vъ nbsnyę preidoša obiteli	they went over to the heavenly dwellings
	naslědnicu domu ostavlъše paraskeviju sъ bratomъ eѵѳimiemъ	leaving Petka as the heiress to their house behind, together with (her) brother Euthymius
	i že poslěžde epspъ Maditu bystь	who afterwards became the bishop of Madit
7:	i mnoga i preslavna sotvori tamo čudesa vъ životě svoemъ i po prestavlenii	and he did there many famous miracles
8:	prpdbnaę oubo po smerti roditelei svoix těsnyi i priskorbnyi putь načatь proxoditi	as the Reverend (Petka) sent her parents to the God well
9:	i styxъ ouserdno vozrevnova žitiju	and she staunchly desired to live as an apostle
	postomъ i bdeniemъ oumerštvlęę tělo svoe	conquering the (desires of the?) body by fasting and staying awake, by hardships and laying on the ground
	i poraboštaę e dxovi	and subduing it to the spirit
10:	ot sjudu i bžstvennym razžegši sę želaniemъ	from now on, being engulfed by her divine desire
	ne sterpě na mnozě vъ mnogomętežnom mirě žiti	she couldn't torment herself anymore by living in this troubled world
11:	no vsę ostavlъši běgu jat sę	and, leaving everything behind, began to run away (ʺtook a runʺ)
12:	i pustynju dostigši ravno agglnoe provoždaše žitie	and, as she reached the desert, she lived an equally angelic life there
	bgovidca iliju i ioanna krstitelę podražaę	imitating the life of Prophet Eliah and John the Baptist
	bylie točiju pustynnoe vъkušajušti	eating only the desert herbs
	i sego źělo malo	and even of that only a bit
13:	studeniju že i źnoemъ bě istaevaę	she was exposed to cold and heat as well
14:	i kъ edinomu točiju vъziraše spsti moguštemu ot malodušię i burę smirennyę srdcemъ	and she looked towards the only one capable of saving from ʺthe tempest and the stormʺ
15:	kto ubo toę i že togda ispověstъ sleznyi istočnikъ?	for who would (be able to) tell of that well of tears?
16:	stenania že častaę i ne prestaemaę kto skažetъ	and who tells of (her) frequent and endless moanings
17:	nizulěganię i oumerštvlenię vsegdašnaę kto izrečetъ	who will tell of her prostrations and her torment?
18:	ne bě bo tamo inogo kogo vsę ta smatręti moguštago ja že tvoręše prpdbnaę točiju vse vidęštee oko bžie	for there was no one able to see her but only that all-seeing eye (of God)
19:	ne bě toi tamo popečenię o sustě mirstěi točiju o dševnomъ očištenii i o otvětě buduštago suda o strětenii ženixově	there was no care for worldly vanities (?), only about purifying (her) soul, about the answers at the Last Judgement, for the meeting with the Bridegroom
	tebe ženiše moi ištu gljušti	saying: ʺyou, o my bridegroom, do I wantʺ
	i to e že vъ Pěsnex Pěsnii vynu vъ umě nosęšti	and also that (verse) in the Song (of the songs), which she always beared in her mind
21:	vozvěstite mi ego že vozljubi dša moę	ʺtell me about him, whom my soul lovesʺ
22:	o semъ bolěznovaše kako oukrasitъ světilnik svoi	she worried often about how to make her lamp prettily
	i sъ mdrimi dvami izyidetъ vъ strětenie ženixu	how she goes to meet the Bridegroom
	i ouslyšitъ sladkii glasъ ego	how she'll notice the sweet voice of her Bridegroom
	i nasladit sę zrěnię krasotỳ ego	how she'll enjoy his beauty
23:	o sem točiju pečaše sę gljušti	she cared only for this, saying:
24:	kogda priidu i javlju sę licu bžiju	ʺwhen can I go and meet the God?ʺ
25:	tako ei živuštei vъ pustyně lukavyi vragъ zavidęše dobrodětelem eę	as she lived thus in the desert, the evil enemy was jealous of her virtues
26:	i tštaše sę mečtaniami i prividěniami ustrašiti ju	and he tried to scare her by dreams and apparitions
27:	množiceju bo vъ različnya źvěry sebe pretvorivъ na stuju oustremlęše sę da bỳ ei sponu ottečenia vozmoglъ sotvoriti	and, turning himself often to various beasts, he charged against the saint, trying to make her to leave (the desert)
28:	no dobraa nevěsta xva paraskevię vyšnęgo položi priběžište Sebě	but the good Petka ʺmade the Most High her dwellingʺ
29:	i ego pomoštiju krsta že Stago znameniemъ vragi progonęše	and by His help, as well as by the sign of Holy Cross, she routed all enemies
30:	i vsę kozni ego jakože někuju paučinu rasterza i do konca nizloži	and she broke and laid low all the enemy machinations as a spider web
31:	vъ ženskom bo eststvě mužeskii stęžavši razumъ jakože dvidъ goliada tako ona diavola pobědi	thus, having gained the manly cunning in the nature of a woman, she defeated the Devil, as David (once defeated) Goliath
32:	sicevymi podvigami i dobrodětelnymъ žitiemъ svoju ukrasivši dšu bystь xrstu vozljublennaę nevěsta jako ispolniti sę Slovu prročeskomu	by such deeds and virtuous life she became the beloved bride of the Christ, as to fulfill the prophecy:
33:	voždelěetъ crь dobrotě tvoei	ʺLet the king be enthralled by your beautyʺ
34:	ibo vseli sę vъ nju sъ otcemъ i Stymъ dxomъ	for He settled in her with the Father and the Holy Spirit
35:	i počivaše vъ nei jakože vъ crkvě Stěi svoei	and He dwelt in her as in His holy Church
36:	vo istinnu bo Staę paraskevię sotvori sę crkovъ bga živago dšu i tělo sobljudši bezъ grěxa i bezъ skverny	truly St. Parascheva made herself into a temple of the Living God, holding her soul and body without a sin and taint
37:	egda že prebystъ lěta dovolna vъ pustyni	and as she lived for many years in the desert
	vъ edinu ot noštii sta na mlitvě po obyčaju svoemu	one night she stood in prayer according to her customs
38:	i rucě na nbo sъ umileniemъ vozděvši	and having raised her hands with love towards the heavens
	ouzrě aggla bžia vъ obrazě junoši presvětlago	she saw an angel of God in an image of a shining youth
	i že prišedъ kъ nei reče	who, having come to her, said:
39:	pustynju ostavi	ʺleave the desertʺ
40:	i vъ otčestvo vozvrati sę	ʺand return to your fatherlandʺ
41:	tamo bo tebě podobaetъ tělo zemli otdati	ʺfor there it's appropriate for you to leave the body in the groundʺ
	dxъ že vъ ne veštestvennaę prevesti selenia	ʺand to transfer your spirit to the immaterial realmʺ
42:	prpdbnaę oubo razsmotrěvši videnia Silu i razuměvši jako povelěnie to ot bga estъ	as the Reverend saw the power of the apparition, and as she understood that it was from God
	radovaše sę o tělesnomъ raspręženii	she rejoiced about being freed from the body
43:	pečalovaše že o ostavlenii pustyni	but she was worried about leaving the desert
44:	ničto že bo tako dšu očištaetъ i vъ pervoobraznoe privoditъ jakože pustynę i bezъmolъvie	for nothing else purifies the soul and brings it to the primordial (perfection) than the desert and the silence
45:	obače i ne xotęšti pustynju ostavi	but even though she didn't want to leave the desert, she returned to the world
46:	i kъ crstvujuštomu prišedši Gradu vъ prekrasny xramъ prmdrosti bžia vъniide	and as she arrived to Tsarigrad (ʺthe reigning cityʺ), she entered the beautiful temple of the Divine Wisdom
47:	takožde i vъ bgorodičnoi ja že vъ vlaxernaxъ crkvi byst	and she was also in the church of the Mother of God, which is in Blachernae
48:	i tamo bgu i prečstěi bgomateri poklonivši sę poide vъ otčestvo Svoe epѵvatъ	and, as she gave bowed there to God and the most pure Mother of God, she went to her fatherland Epibates
	iděže někoe požive vremę ne izměnęa pustynnago svoego truda poštenia že i mlitovъ	where she lived for some time, not changing her desert work, fasting and prayers
49:	ta že prispěvšu e že kъ bu eę otšestviju pomli sę prilěžno o sebě že i o vsemъ mirě	and as she understood that she was going to pass herself to God, she prayed appropriately for herself and the whole world
50:	i tako blžennuju Svoju dšu vъ rucě predade bžii	and thus she gave her blessed soul to God's hands
51:	tělo že eę po obyčaju xrstianskomu vъ zemlě na městě ne naročitomъ pogrebenno byst věrnymi	and her body was buried in the soil on a non-exceptional place by some believers according to the Christian custom
52:	xotę že bь proslaviti ougodnicu svoju javi po mnozěxъъ lětex Stya eę mošti sicevym obrazom	but as God wanted to praise His saint, He showed her relics after many years in the following way:
53:	Stolpnik někii blizь togo města iděže prpdnaę pogrebenna byst na Stolpě bezъmolъstvovaše	a stylite was praying silently on a pillar somewhere near the place, where the Reverend was buried
54:	sluči sę že korableniku někoemu plovuštu i nedugomъ ljutymъ bolěvšu i skončavšu sę tu něgdě poveržennu byti	and it happened to one sailor, who was sailing, and who became direly ill, and died, to be thrown somewhere there
55:	načatъ že ot trupa ego smradъ isxoditi bezměrenъ jako ne mošti nikomu že iti putemъ těm	and a stench began to come out of his corpse so powerful, that nobody could pass by the road there
56:	ne možaše že i Stolpnik sterpěti smrada onago	nor the stylite could suffer the stench any longer
57:	i nužda bě emu radi togo smrada ot Stolpa sniiti	and it became a necessity for him to descend from the pillar because of the stench
58:	povelě že někiimъ člvěkomъ rovъ iskopati glubokъ i smerdęštii onyi tamo vovrešti trupъ	and he commanded some people to dig a deep grave and to throw there that stinking corpse
59:	i egda kopaša člvěci rovъ po smotreniju bžiju obrětoša tělo ne tlěnno vъ zemli ležaštee	and as those people dug the grave, by the God's grace they found an undecayed body laying in the ground
60:	i oudivlęxu sę ne tlěniju těla togo	and they were amazed by the lack of decay of the body
61:	obače ne iskusni i ne věži sušte Slučivšee sę jakože někuju maluju i ničeso že suštuju veštъ prezrěša	but as they were unexperienced and unwise, they ignored what happened as a small thing, which does not matter
62:	glaxu bo kъ sebě	for they said to each other:
63:	ašte by Sto bylo sie tělo otkrilъ by oubo bgъ čudesi jakovymi	ʺif that was a holy body, God would show it by some miraclesʺ
64:	i paki zasypaša e zemleju	and they covered it by the soil again
65:	tamožde i smerdęštago vrinuvše trupa otidoša vъ domy svoę	having thrown there the stinking corpse too, they went away to their homes
66:	prišedšei že nošti georgii někto ot nixъ mužъ xrtsoljubivъ vъ domu svoemъ mlęše sę bgu	in that night, George, one of them, a Christ-loving man, prayed to God in his house
67:	i kъ outru ousnuvъ vidě viděnie	and having fallen asleep by the morning, he saw a vision:
68:	mnęše sę caricu někuju na presvětlomъ sědęštuju prestolě zrěti	it appeared to him to see a queen sitting on a shiny throne
	i množestvo mnogo Světlyxъ voinъ okrestъ toę stoęštixъ	and a great number of shiny soldiers staying around her
69:	ixъ že xrtsoljubivyi onъ člvěkъ viděvъ straxomъ obętъ bystъ	and as that Christ-loving man saw them, he was overtaken by fear
70:	i na zemlju sebe poverže ne mogii světlosti i krasotỳ onoę zrěti	and he threw himself on the ground, unable to watch their shine and beauty
71:	edinъ že ot Světlyxъ těxъ voinovъ emъ ego za ruku vozdviže glę	and one of the shiny warriors raised him by having seized him by arm, saying:
72:	georgie voskuju tako prezrěste tělo prpdbnyę paraskevii i pogreboste Sъ nimъ trupъ smerdęštii	ʺo George, why did you thus ignore the body of Reverend Petka and buried it with a stinking corpse?ʺ
73:	vo skorě oubo to izemše na čestnomъ položěte městě	ʺso quickly take it and place it on a honorable placeʺ
74:	ibo vosxotě bgъ proslaviti rabu svoju na zemli	ʺbecause God wants to make His servant famous on the Earthʺ
75:	takožde i Světlaę ta crica gla emu	also the shiny queen spoke to him:
76:	vo skorě izemši mošti moę vъ naročitomъ položěte městě	ʺhaving quickly taken my relics, place (them) on a due placeʺ
77:	ne mogu bo na mnozě źlosmradię onago tělese terpěti	ʺfor I cannot stand the stench of that body anymoreʺ
78:	ibo i azъ člvěkъ esmъ	ʺbecause I am a human tooʺ
79:	i otčestvo moe estъ epivatъ iděže vy nně žitelstvuete	ʺand my fatherland is Epibates, where you are living nowʺ
80:	toęžde nošti i žena někaę čestna imenemъ eѵfimia tožde viděnie vidě	in the same night, a honorable woman called Euphemia saw the same vision
81:	i oboi na outrie vsěmъ ljudemъ viděnnaę skazaša	and in the morning the both told to all the people about what they have seen
82:	Slyšavše že Się blgověrnii ljudie potekoša sъ Svěštami kъ prpdbnyę paraskevii moštemъ	having heard this, believing people ran with candles to the relics of Reverend Parascheva
83:	i tyę sъ mnogim ouserdiemъ izemše jakože někoemu sokrovištu mnogocěnnomu radovaxu sę	and having them taken with much effort, they rejoiced as (having found) a precious treasure
84:	i položiša vъ cerkvě styxъ i vsexvalnyx apslъ petra i pavla vъ vesi epivatě	and they placed (the relics) in the church of Holy and Most Praised Apostles Peter and Paul in the village of Epibates
	iděže mltvami prpdbnyę paraskevii mnogaę iscělenię ot Styxъ moštei eę bolęištimъ podavaxu sę	where, by the prayers of Reverend Parascheva, many healings were given to the ill by her holy relics
85:	vsě bo i že okrestъ nedužnii i běsnujuštii sę sъ věroju prixodęšte zdravie polučaxu	all those, who were ill or possessed in around, coming with faith, were receiving healing
86:	vremeni že ne malu mimošedšu	after some time having passed
	blgočestivyi vъ carexъ ioannъ asanъ kralь bolgarskii i Serbskii priętь věstь gdě ležatъ čudotvornyę Styę mošti Seę prpdbnyę paraskevii	honorable among the kings, John Asěn, King of Bulgaria and Serbia received the news about (the place), where the miraculous holy relics of this Reverend Parascheva are located
87:	i poslavъ blžennago marka mitropolita sušta velikago pereęslavlę boglarskago sъ mnogimi epspy i ierei	and having sent blessed Mark, the Metropolite of Great Preslav of Bulgaria, with many bishops and priests
	črezъ těxъ prenese čestnyę tyę mošti vъ preslavnyi zemli bolgarskię grad svoi carstvujuštii ternovъ	by them he translated those honorable relics to the famous city of the land of Bulgaria, his regnal (seat) of Tarnovo
88:	i položi sъ čestiju vъ cerkvě svoei carskoi	and he placed (them) with honor in his royal church
	iděže ležašti ne tlěnno istačaxu različnyę cělby sъ věroju pritěkajuštim	where they, laying without decay, poured various healings to those coming with faith
89:	po vremeni že mnozěm egda popušteniemъ bžiimъ odolěša agaręne grečeskomu carstvu	after a long time, as the Hagarenes by the God's will defeated the Greek kingdom
	sъ nimъ že porabotiša i carstvo bolgarskoe kupno sъ Serbskimъ	with it they subdued the kingdom of Bulgaria too, together the (kingdom of) Serbia
90:	nai pače že vo dni selima togo imeni vtorogo carę turskogo	and at most (they conquered) in the days of Selim, second king of Turks of that name
91:	togda carъ toi Selimъ ot grada ternova ratiju vosxitivъ	then, that king Selim, having made war against the city of Tarnovo
	sъ inimъ blgolěpiemъ cerkovnimъ i carskim oukrašeniemъ	with other ornaments of Church and royal jewels
	i się čestnyę mošti prpdbnyę paraskevii vъ Carigrad otnese	he took also the honorable relics of Reverend Parascheva to Tsarigrad
92:	i vъ svoei polatě postavi ideže ne sokry sę mnogocěnnyi toi biserъ	and he placed (them) in his palace, where this precious pearl did not hide
93:	ibo čudesỳ mnogimi ne tokmo xrtsianъ no i agaręnъ vъ poklonenie privede	because by many miracles it brought not only Christians, but also many Hagarenes to worship
94:	Simъ oubo agaręne smutiša sę	however, the Hagarenes were worried by this
95:	i boęšte sę da nekako množaišee ouvěrenie rasprostranitъ sę	and, being afraid that (Christian) faith will expand somewhat more
	pače že za ouserdiemъ i popečeniemъ xrtsianskimъ	rather then for the sake of efforts and struggles of Christians
	otdaša tyę Styę mošti xrtsianomъ carigradskim	they gave those holy relics to the Christians of Tsarigrad
96:	onỳ že čestno vъ patriaršei crkvě položiša	and these placed (them) honorably in the church of the Patriarch
97:	potomъ že ne skoro blgočestivyi io vasilii voevoda gospodarъ zemli moldavskię	and afterwards - not early - honorable John Vasilii the Voivod, gospodar of the land of Moldova
	věstь priemъ o Styxъ prpdbnyę moštexъ tamo suštixъ	having received news about holy relics of the Reverend being there
	želaše ouserdno da ot tudu vъ ego pravoslavnoe gospodarstvie čestno preneseni budutъ	he wished strongly to have them translated from there to his Orthodox domain
98:	gdsь že xvalimyi vъ Styxъ svoixъ xotę i zde proslaviti prpdbnuju svoju želaniju ego spospěšestvova	and the Lord, who is to be praised in His saints, wanting to make His Reverend famous also here, fulfilled his wish
99:	i vъ Srdce Stěišago patriarxa konstantinopolskago kѵirъ parѳenię Sie vъloži	and He put this (wish) into the heart of the most holy Patriarch of Constantinople, lord Parthenius
100:	jako po sovětu vsego svoego osštennago sobora	as after the council of his most enlightened Synod
	i inyxъ Stěišixъ patriarxov po izvoleniju	and by the permission of other most holy Patriarchs
	čestnyę Się mošti prpdbnyę matere paraskevii	these relics of the Reverend Mother Parascheva
	blgočstivomu tomu gpsdaru io vasiliju voevodě na ouserdnoe želanie ego	to that honorable gospodar John Vasilii the Voivod, according to his sincere wish
	sъ vsękim otčeskimъ Svoim blgsveniemъ	with all his fatherly piety
	tremi preosštennymi mitropolity ioanikiemъ irakliiskim parѳeniemъ adrianopolskim i ѳeofanomъ paleonpatronъ preposlalъ estъ vъ moldavskuju zemlju vъ prestolnyi gradъ naricaemyi Jasě	sent (them) by three most enlightened metropolites - Ioannikios of Heracleum, Parthenius of Adrianople and Theophanes (of) Paleonpatron - to the land of Moldova, into the capital city called Jassy
