2:	Бы́сть град въ сто́чнѣи странѣ велик ѕѣло̂. на мѣстѣ скамандрѣ.	There was a very large city in the Eastern land, on the place called Skamander
3:	имѣше ·мѕ· врат.	it had 46 gates
4:	и исходехѫ из него воиска. ·о· стѣговь.	And it mustered (an army of) 70 banners
5:	и тьѝ град наричет сѧ троáда.	and the city's name was Troas
6:	бѣше вь немь црь веле́и и страшень ѕѣло̀.	There was a very great and terrible king there
7:	имѧ емоу бѣ̏, иѡморь црь.	His name was King Amor
8:	и въ еди́нѫ но́щь видѣ црь сънь стрáшень.	And one night the king saw a terrible dream
9:	и оубоа сѧ ѿ него.	And he became afraid by it
10:	ꙗко ро́ди црца глáвнѧ	As the queen gave birth to a firebrand
11:	и запали град троадѫ,	And it ignited the city of Troas
12:	и изгорѣ ве́сь.	And it burned down totally
13:	и въ то̀ врѣмѧ бѣ̏ црца непразна	And in that time the queen was pregnant
14:	егдà ро́ди. быс женскыи поль.	When she gave birth, it was a girl
15:	егдà быс шестим мсцом. ѿро́чѧ въстави Є въ стлъпь.	When the child was 6 months old, the king put it in a tower
16:	и три̏ же́ны нѣмы да слоужѫть отро́чѧтю.	And (he put there also) three mute women to serve her
17:	и запрѣти вел͛ми да не чю́еть глас ни рѣчи члчѧ.	And he strictly prevented her from hearing neither voice nor words of humans
	нѫ̀ да тáко възрáстет.	but to have her grow like that
	да ви́дит кáмо сѧ хо́щет дѣнѫти.	to see where she would to turn to
18:	и быс въ стлъ́пѣ до ·еı· лѣт.	And thus she was for 15 years in the tower
	не чю́вши глáса ни рѣчи члчѧ.	without having heard a voice or words of humans
19:	егдà же бываше въ исхѡд слнца. станѣше къ исходꙋ ѡ́бразом.	At the dawn she stood up towards the east with face
20:	и ѡкънцем глѧдаѫщи на въсток. и глааше ѿ въсѣх ѧзы́кь по еди́нои рѣчи.	And, looking from the window, she spoke from all the languages by one word
21:	црь иамо́рь чюждааше с(е).	King Amor wondered
22:	и въси болѣре чю́ждаахѫ с(е).	And all the boyars wondered
23:	понеже не разоумѣхѫ что̂ глет.	Because they did not understand, what she speaks
24:	црь събрà ѿ въсѣх ѧзы́кь по члкꙋ.	And the king collected people from all nations
25:	и приведе их под стлъпь идеже бѣ̏ отроко́вица.	And he brought them beneath the tower, where the girl was (imprisoned)
26:	и тако повелѣ имь	And he said to them:
27:	послоушате	Listen!
28:	да кто что̏ чю́еть да запи́шеть.	And write what you hear and understand
29:	и тáко послꙋшахѫ.	And thus they obeyed
30:	и что̀ кто̂ разоумѣ, тáко и запи́са.	And who what understood, wrote it
31:	егдà ѡ́на прѣстà глати. сънесошѧ въсѝ писанїа прѣд цремь.	When she stopped speaking, they all brought what they wrote to the king
32:	и състàвишѧ	And they collected it
33:	и обрѣтошѧ млѧщѫѧ сѧ боу за ѡ́ца своего. глѧ,	And they found her was praying for her father, speaking:
34:	ги не постави емоу грѣха.	O Lord, do not count this sin of his
35:	лꙋдь бо̀ ес	For he is mad
36:	и не вѣсть что̀ тво́рить.	And he does not know, what is he doing
37:	бїЄ хотѣнїе кто̀ может разо́рити.	Who can destroy the will of God?
38:	нѫ̂ сънь его́же еси видѣль, то сътворит͛ ти брат мои	But what he had seen in the dream, that shall be done by my brother,
	и́же ес въ ѫтро́бѣ црци.	who lays in the bosom of the Queen
39:	и хощеть родити сѧ.	And he will be born
40:	егда же роди сѧ, быс мѫ́жьско отрочѧ.	When the Queen gave birth, it was a boy
41:	повелѣ црь,	The king commanded
42:	и ѿнесошѫ Є̀ въ поустыѧ го́ры,	And they brought him to deserted mountains
43:	и повръгошѫ.	And they threw him away
44:	и обрѣте отрочѧ мечка, е́же бѣ изьгꙋбила щен͛цѧ своѧ ѿ ловець. и болѧдоваше ѿ млѣка.	And the child was found by a bear, which had lost its cub to hunters and had much milk
45:	и въсхрани отро́чѧ за ·г· лѣта.	And (the bear) fed the child for 3 years
46:	дондже ѕвѣрѧ ловци ꙋбишѫ.	Until the beast was killed by hunters
47:	и отро́чѧ възѧшѫ	And they took the child
48:	и приведошѫ къ црю.	And they brought the child to the king
49:	и позна црь ꙗко то̀ ес снь его̀.	And the king recognized, that it is his son
50:	а еже бѣше двца въ стлъпѣ, изведошѫ ѧ̏.	And they freed the maiden, which was in the tower
51:	и нарече и́мѧ ӗи магдона.	And they gave her name Magdona,
	рекше сирїанскыи, прѣмѫ-драа.	which means 'most wise' in Syriac
52:	а сноу своемоу нарче и́мѧ алеѯандрь. еже ес	And they called the son Alexander
	Єл͛линскыи, ѡбрѣтень.	(which means) 'a found one' in Greek
53:	дъщи его бѣ̏ краснѣиша и мѫдрѣиша пач вьсего свѣта.	His daughter was the (most) beautiful and most wise in the whole world
54:	И спѝса мѫжа на кони.	And she drew on a paper a man on a horse
55:	и прихождаахѫ ѿ иных цреи	And other kings were coming,
	просити ѫ̏ себѣ женѫ̀.	to ask her to become their wife
56:	она же глааше.	And she spoke:
57:	егдà виждѫ мѫ́жа на кони сѣдѧща, ꙗко ес въ писани моем.	When I will see a man riding on a horse, like in my drawing,
	того пои́мѫ азь мѫ́жа.	that one I will take (for) a husband
58:	и тáко въсѣхь не хотѣше	And thus she rejected all
59:	Въ еди́н͛ же днь сѣдѧщи еи на полатѣ. ви́дѣ члка въз море ꙗздѧща ·в· пъприщи мѣста.	As she sat in the palace one (day), she saw a man riding out of the sea, about two fathoms from the place
60:	и рче ѡцꙋ свое́мꙋ, црю иаморю.	And she said to her father, king Amor:
61:	ги тъѝ ми бѫ́деть мѫж.	O lord, that shall be my husband
62:	и посли призвати его.	Send to him (messengers?) to invite him in
63:	и ви́дѣ црь саракинина,	And the king saw a Saracen
64:	и почюди сѧ велми.	And he wondered a lot
65:	и въпроси его,	And the king asked him:
66:	повѣждь ми брáте камо иде́ши	O brother, where do you go?
67:	что̂ ли и́щеши.	Or what do you want?
68:	саракининь ре́че,	The Saracen said:
69:	áзь есмь соул͛тань црь въсеи саракинїи.	I am king Sultan of all Saracenia
70:	и храбрость моѫ никто̀ не имат.	And no one has my bravery
71:	и́щѫ женѫ да пои́мѫ. краснѣишѫ въсего свѣта. и мѫдрѣишѫ.	I want to marry the wisest and most beautiful woman of all the world
72:	понеже е́смь въ сънѣ ви́дѣль.	Because I have seen such one in a dream by himself
73:	да аще гдѐ знае́те повѣдите мнѣ.	so if you know where (there is one), tell me
74:	тогда мáгдонѫ изведошѧ къ немꙋ.	then they led Magdona to him
75:	и егда ви́дѣ ѫ̏ солтань	And when Sultan saw her,
	позна ѫ̏.	he recognized her
76:	и поемше ѫ̏ ѿведе въ саракинїѧ.	And having taken her, he brought her to Saracenia
77:	Алеѯандрь же вьзрасте въ домоу о́ца своего.	Alexander grew up in the house of his fater
78:	и быс ратникь крѣпокь. и црь въсѣмь еллинѡм.	And he became a strong warrior and a king of all Pagans/Hellenes
79:	бѣше бо̀ лѣпота его̀ велїа ѕѣло.	For his beauty was very great
80:	и рече влъхвом своим.	And he told his wizards:
81:	аще ми обрѧщете женѫ краснѣишѫ въсего свѣта. азь вам велико добро̀ сътво́рѧ.	If you will find me the most beautiful and intelligent woman in the world, I will do a great good to you
82:	влъсви же обыдошѧ въсѧ землѧ влъшеством.	And the wizards travelled around the whole world by their magic
83:	и ѡбрѣтошѧ женѫ въ амореи оу сиѡ̀на црѣ.	And they found a woman in Amorea, at King Sion's (court)
84:	имѧ ӗи Єгѷлꙋда.	Her name (was) Giluda
85:	и повѣдашѧ алеѯандрꙋ црю.	And they told King Alexander
86:	ѡ́н же рче имь,	And he said to them:
87:	съберѣте мѧ ꙗко въ сънѣ съ неѫ. да ви́дим дроуг дроуга.	Get me with her together in a dream, so that we can see each other
88:	они же влъшеством събирахѫ и́хь по въсѧ но́щи за ·в· лѣтѣ.	And the wizards by their magic got them together every night for 2 years
89:	и толико любѣхѫ с(е)	And they loved each other so much,
	ели́ко въ днїи жѫждахѫ вчерь бы́ти.	so that in the day they wished (only) for the evening to come
90:	и ꙗко въ сънѣ съговорѣста сѧ. и по въсѣ дни тáко тво́рѣхѫ.	And what they agreed with each other in the dream, thus they did in the day too
91:	Алеѯандръ сътвори сѧ ꙗко еди́нь коупе́ць.	Alexander disguised himself as one of the merchants
92:	и прїиде съ кораб͛ми въ палеѡполь къ сїоноу црю. носѧще имѣнїа многа.	And he went with ships to Paleopol to King Sion, bringing much wealth
93:	и дарова сїона црѣ.	And he gave presents to King Sion
94:	сїѡнь црь того дáрова.	(And) King Sion gave him presents
95:	и сьтво́риста сѧ брáта.	And they became ("made themselves") brothers
96:	Єгѷлꙋда же црца въсе́гда съ алеѯандром бывааше въ таинѣ.	Queen Giluda was always with Alexander in secret
97:	егдà хотѣше сїона црѣ го́стити. ѡна тоу̏ сѣдѣше при алеѯандрѣ.	When Alexander wanted to make a dinner for Sion, she sat there next to Alexander
98:	сїонь црь мнѣше Єгова же́на ес.	Sion thought she was Alexander's wife
99:	пакы ѡна ѿхождааше въ дом свои.	And she went home again
100:	да егдà црь ѿхождаше. гла црци	And when the king was going out, he said to the queen:
101:	ѡ̀ велїе чюдо,	O, what a wonder (is this)
102:	оу сего коупца ес жена	There is a (wife?) by this merchant
103:	и
	вел͛ми твоѫ приликѫ но́сить.	And she looks very similar to you
104:	тогдà игѷлꙋда гнѣвааше с(е)	Giluda was very angry then
105:	и глааше.	And she said:
106:	что̀ тако ме́не прилгаеши тоѝ коупчици.	Why do you associate myself with that merchant woman?
107:	да егда азь такова есмь. да и ты̏ томоу приличень е́си.	If I am such, then you also look like him
108:	ѡн пакы̀ зовѣше алеѯандра гостити.	And he invited Alexander as a guest again
109:	и ѡна тоꙋ̂ бѣ̏.	And she was there
110:	и тако творѣше за ·ѕ· мсць.	And thus they did for 6 months
111:	егдà ли оу него ѡбрѣтааше сѧ, въ ины ѡдежди прѣмѣнꙋѫщи сѧ.	When he appeared there, he took other clothes
112:	и тáко бѣжа съ неѫ алеѯандрь.	And thus Alexander ran away with her
113:	Сїѡ̀нь же црь ѡстà въ печали и порѫгани велицѣ.	King Sion remained in sorrow and great shame
114:	алеѯандрь же егда въве́де Єгѷлꙋдѫ въ градь троадѫ. потрѧсе сѧ град вел͛ми.	And when Alexander brought Giluda into the city of Troas, the city was shaken strongly
115:	и ѿць его аморь црь, рче.	and his father, King Amor, said:
116:	въ истинѫ съвръши сѧ съ́нъ мои и́же прѣжде видѣх.	Truly, the dream I saw earlier is fulfilled
117:	Сїѡн же црь послà къ брáтоу свое́моу ıѡгоу.	And King Sion sent for his brother Jug
118:	ıѡгь посла къ шоурѣмь своим въ ханаан. и въ халдеѫ и въ месопотамїѧ. и въ пер͛сидѫ.	Jug sent for his brothers in law in Canaan and Chaldea and Mesopotamia and Persia
119:	и събрасѧ с(е) ·дı· црїи.	And 14 kings assembled
120:	и придошѧ на алеѯандрà. и на град вели́кыи троадѫ.	And they came against King Alexander and the great city of Troas
121:	и ѡбсѣдошѧ е́го.	And they besieged it
122:	и ръвашѧ его за ·зı· лѣт.	And they fought for 17 years
123:	и не можахѫ что̂ емоу сътво́рити ѿ множства по́ль.	And they were not able to finish anything because of the larger number (of forces)
124:	Єди́нь мѫ́жь именем пал͛мида. про҆ꙋмѣ затри́кь игрáти.	A man called Palmida invented the game of dice
125:	бѣше бо̀ слоуга ıѡга црѣ.	For he was a servant of the King Jug
126:	егдà въдаше с(е) въсѝ болѣре затрикь играти.	When all boyars put themselves to play dice,
	тогда пакы̀ пал͛мида про҆ꙋмѣ тавлїѧ игрáти. ꙗко да сръдѧт сѧ играѫще.	then Palmida invented backgammon, to make them angry by the game
127:	тогда сътвори палмида конѧ мѣдна вѣлика ѕѣло.	And again, Palmida crafted a very big copper (bronze?) horse
128:	и въниде сїѡ̀нь црь въ конѧ. и съ ним храбрѝ три̏.	And King Sion entered the horse and with him three brave (warriors)
129:	и мѣдныи конь матататокы̀ хождааше.	And the copper horse walked by himself (?)
130:	пал͛мида подковà конх петалами наѡпако.	Palmida put horseshoes on the horses
131:	и ѿбрà ·т· воевь добрѣх.	And he selected 300 good warriors
132:	и въ но́щи сънидошѧ за град	And they went behind the city at night
133:	и скры́шѧ с(е).	And they hid
134:	и
	на оутрїе дви́гнѫшѧ с(е). вьсѣ воиска.	In the morning, the whole army stood up
135:	и падошѧ не далече ѿ грáда.	And it moved not far away from the city
136:	а конѧ того ѡставишѫ на околищи.	And they left the horse around
137:	и изшедши из града обрѣтошѧ конѧ	And those going out of the city found the horse
138:	и чюждаахѫ с(е).	And they wondered
139:	и повѣдашѧ алеѯандрꙋ.	And they told Alexander
140:	и повелѣ въвести конѧ въ град.	And he commanded to bring the horse to the city
141:	и ведѫщемь его, и на вратѣх града изы́де сїѡнь црь. и въси вое съ ни́мь.	And at the gates of the city, King Sion and all the warriors came out of the horse
142:	и прѣѫть врата градоу.	And they took the gates of the city
143:	дондеж прїиде палмида съ воискы ѫже имѣхѫ съкръвена.	Until Palmida came with his forces, which were hidden
144:	тако и въса воиска възвратишѧ с(е)	And thus the whole army came back
145:	и прѣѧшѧ град троадѫ.	And they took the city of Troas
146:	и разоришѫ его до концА.	And they destroyed it utterly
147:	алеѯандрь же црь въземь женѫ своѫ игѷлꙋдѫ.	And Alexander took his wife Giluda and left the city at night
148:	и бѣжа къ сꙋлтанꙋ зѧтю своемꙋ въ саракинїѧ.	And he ran away to Sultan, his son in law, into Saracenia
149:	да ꙗко быс гнѣвь бıи на сїона црѣ.	For there was God's anger against King Sion
150:	егдà прїиде съ воѝ своими въ своà си. не ѡбрѣтошѧ жень въ домовѣх своих.	When he returned to his home with his warriors, they did not find (anything?) in their houses
151:	понже бѣжали бѣхѫ съ рáбы своими.	Because they ran with their servants
152:	и въси воѐ поꙋ́сты обрѣтошѧ домовы своѧ.	And all the warriors found their houses deserted
153:	алеѯандрь же въздвиже соул͛тана и въсѧ саракинїѧ.	And Alexander raised Sultan and whole Saracenia
154:	и побѝ црѧ ханаанскыѧ. и халдѣискыѧ. и месопотамїискыѧ.	And he slew all the kings of Canaan and Chaldea and Mesopotamia
155:	и
	иде на ıога црѣ въ амореѫ	And he went against King Jug to Amorea
156:	и оубѝ его,	And he killed him
157:	и разори град вели́кы васáнь.	And he destroyed the great city of Vasan
158:	и възѧшѫ землѧ их саракине въ досанїе.	And the (nation of) Saracenes took their land for their own
159:	и въсе́гда прѣбываеть тако.	And they live there forever (?)
160:	и прїидошѧ на сїѡ́на црѣ въ амореѧ.	And they came to King Sion to Amorea
161:	и съмири сѧ алеѯандрь съ рáбы сїоновѣми, е́же бѣхѫ съ же́нами их бѣжали.	And Alexander made peace with servants of Sion, who ran away with their wives
162:	сїѡ́нь црь стоáше въ палеѡполи.	King Sion stood in Paleopolis
163:	александрь же стоашѐ въ елеѡсе.	Alexander stood in Eleon
164:	а соултань и раби их биáхѫ на господѫ своѧ	And Sultan and their servants fought with their masters
165:	и воевашѫ.	And they fought
166:	понже и́мь же́ны и домовы имѣхѫ.	Because they had their wives and their houses
167:	и толи́ко тѧжкы рáти имѣхѫ тогда.	And there were so hard battles
168:	елико въ единои ндели бышѧ тъмâ мрътвець.	For there were ten thousand of dead in one week
169:	и тáко ратоваше с(е) за ·в· мсца.	And thus they made war for 2 months
170:	и оубишѧ сїона црѣ и въсѣ воѧ его̀.	And they killed King Sion and all of his warriors
171:	и ѡста съ солтаном и алеѯандромь. ·р· лю́дїи.	And 100 of people remained with Sultan and Alexander
172:	и ви́дѣ александрь колика злà сьтворишѫ с(е) о Єди́нои же́нѣ.	Alexander saw, how much evil was done due to one woman
173:	тогдА ıЄрлмь разоришѧ. и дроугыхь (великых) грáдѡв. ·сд·	Then Jerusalem was destroyed too, among 204 other cities
174:	въсѧ̀ воѧ̀ и стрáны ѡпоустишѧ	All armies and lands were desolated
175:	и оубишѧ ·ги· цреи. и писидїискаго црѣ.	And they killed 13 kings, and even the king of Pisidia
176:	и тáко алеѯандрь ѿсѣче главѫ игилоудѣ проклѧтои.	And thus Alexander cut off the head of accursed Giluda
177:	и сáмь ско́чи въ море,	And he himself jumped into the sea
178:	и оутопе:	And he drowned
