4:	слнце ко́лкото и́ма свѣ́ть и свѣ́ти.	As the world has Sun to shine
5:	то́лкози и на прпо́добнаа петка пáмет що ѝ ѐ просвѣ́тила по си́чки свѣть.	so much (shines) the remembrance of our Reverend Petka, which has enlightened the whole world
6:	нѥ́ино чю́до, и нѥ́инь по́с, ко́и ези́кь мо́же искáза,	which tongue could retell all of her miracles and her fasting?
7:	що е̂ тїà сто́рила добрà рáбота нá землꙗ.	what goodness she did on the Earth
	на епивáт͛ско мѣ́сто, и на	in the land of the town of Epibates
	тракḯиско, и на	and in the Thracian (land)
	трь́новь, и на	and in Tarnovo
	ми́сїа, и на	and in Moesia
	дал͛мáти. и нѣ̏	and in Dalmatia
	ть́кмо по тḯа мѣ́ста, àмѝ и	and not merely in those lands
	по си́ч͛ки свѣ́ть.	but all over the world?
8:	де̂то нáшь ꙋ́мь не мо́же да пости́гнѥ,	our mind cannot reach there
	илѝ ези́кь нáшь да искáже си́чко то нѥ́йно чю́до, и добро̀, и по́ст, и сль́зы.	or our language cannot tell of all her miracles and goodness and fasting and tears
9:	àмѝ ть́кмо ко́л͛кото нáшь ꙋ́мь пости́гна.	but only as much as our mind could comprehend
10:	и напи́сах áзь еѵ͛ти́мїе патрїáр͛хь трь́нов͛скыи, що̀ знаꙗ́хь.	and so I, Euthymius, Patriarch of Tъrnovo, wrote what I knew
11:	àмѝ и ви́е блсве́нїи хрстїáне послꙋ́шайте.	but also you, blessed Christians, do hear
12:	Тáзи стаа и прподобнà пе́тка, бѣ́ше ѿ мѣ́сто епивáти.	that Saint and Reverend Petka was from the land of Epibates
13:	бащà нѥ́инь и мáйка ѝ бѣ́ха добрѝ и блгочь́стивы̏.	her father and her mother were good and pious
14:	и хо́дѣха по́ бжии зáповѣдь,	and they lived (ʺwalkedʺ) according to Divine Commandment(s)
15:	млсты́нꙗ чи́нѣха,	(they) performed deeds of mercy
16:	и дрꙋ́гы добрины̀ бѣ́ха ꙋ тѣ́хь.	and (also) other good deeds were (done) by them
17:	и ро́диха ть́зи чи́стаа и хва гь́лабица и двца.	and they gave birth to this pure, Christ's dove and maiden
18:	и ро́диха и дрꙋ́го мь́ж͛ко, и́ме то мꙋ еѵ͛ти́мїе,	and they gave birth also to another male (child), his name (was) Euthymius
	що бы̂ нáпоконь на мади́ть влдка.	who finally became the bishop of Madit (Matidia?)
19:	и наꙋ́чиха гы на стрáх бжїи, и на зáконь добрѣ̀.	and (the parents) tought them to fear God and His law (ʺthe fear of God and the lawʺ) well
20:	и прѣстáвиха се.	and they died (ʺpresented themselvesʺ, i.e. to God)
21:	и остà ста пет͛ка сьс͛ брáта си̂ еѵ͛ти́мїа, де̂то бы̂ влдка на мади́ть.	and St Petka remained with her brother Euthymius, who became the bishop of Madit
22:	и то́и мнѡ̂го чю́до покáза тáмо.	and he did many miracles there
23:	защо̀ бѣ́ше и то́и просвѣ́тиль сьс͛ по́сть мнѡ̂го добрины̀,	because he had shone with his fasting (and) many good deeds as well (?)
24:	затовá се и посты̀.	for that reason he was canonized
25:	и нѥ́говы мо́щи и до дне́ска чю́дно исцѣлѥ́нїе чи́нꙗть.	and his relics cause a lot of miraculous healing until today
26:	И стаа пе́т͛ка ѿ като̂ погре́бе роди́телѥ своѝ, ѿреди́ гы добрѣ̀.	and St Petka, since she buried her parents, she gave them their due well
27:	тогáзи започѐ по́сть и метáнїе, и бдѣ́нїе.	then she began with fasting, and bowing, and staying awake
28:	И поре́вна й се като̂ апстльскы̏ зáконь.	and it came to her mind (ʺit wanted to herʺ) as an apostolic law
29:	и нá землꙗ без͛ посте́лꙗ ле́гнꙋваше.	and she laid herself on the ground without a bed
30:	И ѿ тꙋ́ка пáкь ѝ се испль́ни срдце́ то на ми́сль бжст͛внаа	and then her heart was filled by a divine thought
	да и́де въ пꙋ́стынꙗ.	to go into the desert
31:	и побѣ́гна ѿ тáмо,	and she ran from there
32:	и ѿидѐ вь пꙋ́стынꙗ,	and went to the desert
33:	и тамо прѣбы́ваше аггл͛скыи чи́нь.	and an angelic host lived there
34:	и подрьжа ѝ като̂ илḯа, и като̂ ıѡáнна крстлꙗ.	and (it?) followed her example as (if she were) Elijah or (ʺasʺ) John the Baptist
35:	пос, и бдѣ́нїе, и метáнїе, и сль́зы, стꙋ́дь, и пе́кь, си́чко трьпѣ́ше.	fasting, staying awake, bowing and tears, cold and heat - she endured everything
36:	и вькꙋ́сюваше трѣ́ва мѣ́сто ꙗ́стїе,	and ate grass instead of food
	и то̀ по мáл͛ко нá вечрь.	and (even) that (only) a little in the evening
37:	и млба непрѣстáнно чи́нѣше.	and she prayed (ʺdid prayerʺ) perpetually
38:	и ни́что да и́маше ми́сль за то́йзи свѣ́ть,	and she wouldn't have a thought about the world (?)
	илѝ за добрà оде́жда да сѐ облѣчѐ.	nor about good clothes to wear
	илѝ за до́мь и за сто́ка и за имáнїе.	nor about a house and goods and wealth
39:	àмѝ ть́кмо ꙫчи́ тѣ ѝ бѣ́ха сль́зы напль́нѥнїи. и м́лба нá ба.	but only her eyes were filled by tears and prayers to God
40:	и си́ч͛ка ми́сль бѣ́ше ѝ и наде́жда на га ба.	and all of her thoughts were the hope of the Lord God
41:	и помы́слюваше за вто́ро пришь́ствїе за бжїи сꙋ́дь.	and she thought about the Second Coming, about the Divine Judgment
	и кáкь да сѝ ꙋкрасѝ дшь́ та да сре́щне ха ба сь свѣти́лникь ꙋкрасе́нь.	and how to decorate her soul, to meet Christ the God with a decorated (prepared) lamp
	и какво̀ добро̀ да сто́ри.	and what good deed should she do
	да чю́е тогáзи глас кро́т͛кь ѿ га ба.	to hear that meek voice of the Lord God
	и кáкь да сѝ испль́ни свѣти́лникь сьс мáсло	and how to fill the lamp with oil
	да влѣ́зе сьс͛ мꙋ́дры те двци в͛ рáи,	to enter the Paradise with the wise maidens
	да сѐ насы́ти красотà рáйскаа и хꙋ̀бость и свѣ́тлость,	to satisfy herself with the heavenly glory and (the) beauty and (the) light
	и пѣ́сны áггльскые.	and (the) angelic songs
42:	ть́кмо за товà и̏ бѣ́ше ми́сль,	her thoughts were (directed) only for that
43:	и тврь́дѣ тьгꙋ́ваше сьс срдце́ то си̂,	and she yearned powerfully in her heart
	кáкь да полꙋ́чи оновà добро̀.	how to receive that boon
44:	и такà провáждаше сво́й живо́ть по ѡнь́зи пꙋ́стынꙗ за мнѡ̂го врѣ́ме.	and thus she lived her life on that desert for a long time
45:	А лꙋкáвы̏ дїáволь не прѣстáнꙋваше да ѧ̂ плáши	but the Devil didn't cease to frighten her
46:	и мнѡ̂го пь́ти се прѣстрꙋ́ваше като̂ ѕвѣ́рь стрáшень,	and many times (he) changed himself to a terrible beast
	давно̀ бы̂ ꙗ̀ ꙋплáшиль да остáви пꙋ́стынꙗ.	to frighten her (and thus force her) to leave the desert
47:	àмѝ стаа пе́т͛ка и́маше ба помо́щника.	but St Petka had God (as a) helper
48:	и не прѣстáнꙋваха ѝ сль́зы ѿ ꙫчи́ те.	and the tears didn't stop (to flow) from her eyes
49:	и си́ч͛ка хи́трость дїáвол͛ска изче́знꙋваше ѿ нѥ́ина та м́лба.	and all the devilish cunning was vain because of (ʺdisappeared fromʺ) her prayer
50:	Таквáзи си́ла бѣ́ше доби́ла ѿ ба,	such a power she had acquired from God
51:	и ть́й се бѣ́ше подкáнила,	and thus she had decided to live
52:	макàръ да бѣ́ше женâ	altough she was a woman
53:	àмѝ бѣ́ше испльнѥ́на дха стго́.	but she was filled (by the) Holy Spirit
54:	и бѣгаше ѿ нѥ́а си́ла дїáвол͛ска	and the devilish force ran away from her
55:	и исче́знꙋваше като̂ ды́мь.	and disappeared as a smoke.
56:	Двдь црь за такви́зи же́ни пррокꙋваше,	King David prophesized about such women
57:	и кáже.	and said:
58:	вьжделѣе́ть црь до́бротѣ твое́и.	ʺLet the king be enthralled by your beautyʺ (Ps 45:11 NIV)
59:	И такà ста̏ пе́тка прѣбы̂ мнѡ̂го годи́ны въ пꙋ́стынꙗ.	and thus lived St Petka for many years in the desert
60:	И въ еднà но́щь като́	and (ʺinʺ) one night
	си чи́нѣше м́лба и метáнїе,	as she was doing her prayers and bowing
	и рьцѣ́ те си̂ вди́гаше наго́рѣ́ и плáчѣше.	and she raised her hands high and wept
	и нáпрасно видѣ̀ бжст́вно видѣ́нїе.	and suddenly she saw a divine apparition
61:	еди́нь áггль ѝ се ꙗ́ви, като̂ нѣ́кои млáдь мо́мькь,	an angel appeared to her as a young boy
62:	и свѣ́ти като̂ свѣщь.	and (he) shined as a candle
63:	и ре́че ѝ.	and he said to her:
64:	да остáвишь пꙋ́стынꙗ та,	ʺ(you should) leave the desertʺ
65:	и иди́ си пáкь назáдь на твоà бáщнина.	ʺand go back to your homelandʺ
66:	Защо̀ тáмо ти прили́че да сѝ остáвишь тѣло́ то.	ʺbecause it is good for you to leave your body thereʺ
67:	а дшá та ти ще̂ да бь́де на хꙋ́бавы̏ и на слáд͛кы̏ рáи.	ʺand your soul shall be in the beautiful and immaterial Paradiseʺ
68:	Като̂ видѣ̀ стаа пе́т͛ка товà видѣ́нїе, и чю тḯа дꙋ́ми	as St Petka saw this apparition and heard those words
	разꙋмѣ че ѐ ѿ ба товà видѣ́нїе,	she understood, that this apparition was from God
69:	и познà че ще̂ да сѐ прѣстáви ско́ро,	and she found out that she will die soon
70:	и зарáдꙋва се.	and she was glad
71:	и гри́жѣше се	and she worried:
72:	как сѝ остáвѣ пꙋ́стынꙗ та,	ʺhow can I leave the desert?ʺ
73:	защо̀ не мо́же ни́що дрꙋ́го да очи́сти члкꙋ дшь́ та като̂ пꙋ́стынꙗ.	because nothing else can purify the human soul as a desert
74:	И тогáзи стаа пе́тка като̂ чю̂ онзи глас,	and then, as St Petka heard that voice
	и да ѝ се не щѣ́ше	even though she didn't want
	а тиà остáви онáзи пꙋ́стынꙗ.	she left that desert
75:	И поидѐ прь́вѣнь на цригрáд,	and first she went to Tsarigrad
76:	и влѣ́зе в͛ че́ркова хва ꙋ стаа со́фїа	and entered the church of Christ of (ʺtoʺ) St Sophia
77:	и м́лба непрѣстáнно чи́нѣше.	and she prayed (ʺdid prayerʺ) perpetually
78:	кáкь да искáже члкь то́л͛кози метáнїа и по́клоны,	how could one describe so many kneelings and bowings
79:	и си́чки днѝ и но́щи на бдѣ́нїе бѣ́ше,	and she was awake for all the days and nights
80:	и плáчѣше и тьгꙋ́ваше за пꙋ́стынꙗ та.	and she wept and craved for the desert
81:	И обыдѐ си́ч͛ки че́р͛ковы като̂ еднà пчелà рабо́тна,	and she visited all the churches as a diligent bee
	щото̀ об͛хо́ди си́чки цвѣ́тѡве про́лѣ́тны.	which visits all the vernal flowers
82:	И поидѐ в͛ че́ркова прѣстѣ́и бци, що сѐ зовѐ влахе́рна.	and (then) she went to (the) church of most-holy Mother of God which is called Blachernae
83:	и тáмо припáде на и́кона прѣстѣ́и бци.	and there she came (ʺfellʺ?) to the icon of most-holy Mother of God
84:	и сль́зы ѿ ꙫчи́ тѣ си мнѡ̂го излїà.	and she poured a lot of tears from her eyes
85:	и дꙋ́маше и млꙗше с бци.	and she said and prayed to the Mother of God:
86:	Те́бѣ влдчце що сѝ на си́чки свѣ́ть,	ʺUpon yourself, o Lady (ʺwhich isʺ) of the whole worldʺ
	и породи́ла си га ба.	ʺand who gave birth to Lord Godʺ
	áзь мо́й живо́ть ꙋ те́бѣ остáвих.	ʺto yourself I dedicated (ʺleftʺ) my lifeʺ
87:	и на те́бѣ се надѣ́а да мѐ помлꙋвашь.	ʺand in yourself I hope that you have mercy upon meʺ
88:	и не дѣ́и се гнꙋсѝ ѿ ме́не що сь́мь твоà робинꙗ̀.	ʺdon't turn away in disgust from me, your servantʺ
89:	Защо̀ и áзь ѿ млáдость твое́мꙋ снꙋ послѣ́довáх,	ʺbecause I followed your son and prayed since my youthʺ
90:	и м́лꙗ се.	ʺand I pray (you)ʺ
91:	и ты̏ знáешь бце мо́а та же́н͛скаа рáбота и моà слáбость	ʺand you know, o Virgin, my womanly nature and my weaknessʺ
	що̂ е на мо́а та дша озно́ба.	ʺwhich worries my soulʺ (ʺwhich is my soul's worryʺ)
92:	àмѝ и ты̏ стаа бце,	ʺbut you, o St Mother of Godʺ
	ты̏ ми бьдѝ помо́щница.	ʺyou be my helperʺ
93:	защо̂ освѣ́нь те́бе на дрꙋ́го мѣ́сто не́ мам да сѐ надѣ́а.	ʺbecause I have no hope at another place than by yourselfʺ
94:	àмѝ ты̏ ми бьдѝ настáвница	ʺbut you be my teacherʺ
	да ме̂ настáвишь на добро̀ и на покаáнїе.	ʺso that you leads me to the goodness and remorseʺ
95:	и ты̏ да мѐ ꙋпáзишь ѿ си́чко зло̏.	ʺ(so that) you shall protect me from all evilʺ
96:	защо̀ когà бѣ́х вь пꙋ́стынꙗ те́бе и́мах помо́щница.	ʺbecause I had yourself as my helper as I was in (the) desertʺ
97:	и сегá се врьнáх вь ми́рь.	ʺbut now I have returned into (the) worldʺ
98:	àмѝ пáкь и сегá ме очꙋ́ваи и ꙋпазѝ,	ʺbut now, hear and protect me againʺ
99:	и помо́щница ми бьдѝ,	ʺand be my helperʺ
100:	и покры̂и ме ѿ си́чко зло̏.	ʺand cover me from all evilʺ
101:	И товá се по́мли,	and thus she prayed
102:	и плáка ѿ сѐ срдце	and wept from all heart
103:	и излѣ́зе	and she left
104:	и трьгнà да и́де на сво́а та си бáщнина.	and went (ʺto goʺ) to her (ʺownʺ) homeland
105:	И доидѐ до епивáти що̀ бѣ́ше нѥ́ина бáщнина.	and came to Epibates, which was her homeland
106:	и прѣбы̂ тáмо врѣ́ме не́ мало,	and stayed there for quite some time
107:	и ни́кои не познаваше ꙗ.	and nobody recognized her
108:	И тáмо по́сть метáнїе, бдѣ́нїе,	and there (she did much) fasting, kneeling (and) staying awake
	ко́и мо́же искáза.	who could tell (how much?)
109:	Врѣ́ме нѣ́кое проми́на се	some time passed
110:	и познà че ще̂ да сѐ прѣстáви.	and she understood that she will die (soon)
111:	и сто́ри си млба нá ба,	and she gave (ʺdid herʺ) a prayer to God
112:	и рче́ сь сль́зи.	and said with tears:
113:	Члколю́б͛че влдко,	ʺo Lord, Lover of humansʺ
	да нѐ остáвишь ме́не що сь́м роби́нꙗ твоà	ʺdo not leave me, (who am) your servantʺ
	де̂то с͛мь зарад̏ те́бе остáвила си́ч͛ко,	ʺwho has left everything for youʺ
114:	и к тебѣ прибѣгнах.	ʺand to yourself I ranʺ
115:	àмѝ ги бе мо́й, речѝ áгглꙋ ми́рно	ʺbut, my Lord God, give a calm command to an angelʺ
	да мѝ прїе́ме дшь́ та.	ʺto receive my soulʺ
116:	и да мѝ не бь́де забрáнѥно да ꙋлѣ́за на твоѐ црство ѿ мрь̀снїи и не чи́стїи бѣ̀сове.	ʺand that I wouldn't be barred from entering your kingdom by unpure and tainted demonsʺ
117:	àмѝ ме сподобѝ без͛ стрáх да стáна прѣд тво́й стрáшны прѣсто́ль.	ʺbut make me worthy to stand without fear before your awesome throneʺ
118:	оти си блсве́нь ги вь вѣ́кы,	ʺbecause you are blessed, o Lord, in eternityʺ
119:	ами́нь:	ʺamenʺ
120:	И товá се пом́ли,	and she prayed thus
121:	и то́изи час прѣдáде си̂ бꙋ дшь́ та.	and in that moment she turned her soul over to God
122:	и тѣло́ то и погре́боха нѣ́кои̏ хрстиáне.	and some Christians buried her body
123:	и не познá ꙗ ни́кои догде (ı)ʺа и погре́боха,	and no one knew her, as they buried her
124:	ни̏то знáꙗха ѿ кидѣ̀ бѣ̀ дошлà.	nor they knew where she had come from
125:	И такá си прово́ди дни́ те своѝ тꙋ́ка нá землꙗ̀,	and thus she passed her days here on the Earth
126:	à тáмо наидѐ голѣ́мо добро̀ и леснинà,	and there she found great good and comfort
127:	àмѝ и тꙋ́ка гь бь не остáви ꙗ да е̂ за мнѡ̂го дни ськры̂ена нá землꙗ̀.	but even here, Lord God wouldn't leave her hidden in the Earth for long
	и да е̂ без пáметь нѥ́ино то чи́стое и сто́е тѣ́ло,	to leave her pure and holy body to remain without rememberance
128:	àмѝ покáза чю́до ди́вно зарадѝ нѥ́йни те сты́е мо́щи.	but he showed a miracle on her holy relics
129:	Нѣ́кои по́стникь и́маше тáмо	there was a hermit
130:	на стль́пь прѣбы́ваше.	he lived on a pillar
131:	и по́стѣше се бли́зо при оновà мѣ́сто, где̏то е̏ било̀ гро̂бь ть стѣи́ пе́т͛ки.	and he fasted near the site of the St Petka's grave
132:	И слꙋчи́ се тâ ꙋмрѣ̀ нѣ́кои гемеџї̂а,	and it came to pass, a sailor died
133:	и фрьли́ха го тáмо бли́зо при он͛зи стль́пь.	and they threw him there, close to that pillar
134:	и почѐ да исхо́ди ѿ нѥ́го смрàдь зль̏,	and a terrible stench started to come out from him
	ко́л͛кото веки́е̂ не мо́жаше тáмо да поми́не члкь ѿ зла̏ миризмà.	so much that one couldn't pass by because of the stench
135:	заедно̀ и онзи стль́пник векѥ̂ не можѐ да трьпѝ онзи смрàдь.	neither the stylite could suffer that stench
136:	àмѝ слѣ́зе ѿ он͛зи стль́пь,	so he climbed down from the pillar
137:	и наидѐ члци,	and he found some men
138:	и рче́ и́мь да ископáют трáпь голѣ́м	and he commanded them to dig a big hole
	да тꙋ́рꙗть оновà тѣ́ло что̂то смрьдѣ́ше.	to throw that stinking body (down there)
139:	и онḯа члцїи послꙋ́шаха оного́зи стль́пника,	and those people obeyed the hermit
140:	и поидо́ха тáмо.	and they went there
141:	и зе́ха да копáꙗть,	and started to dig
142:	и наидо́ха тѣло́ то стѣи́ пе́ткы, цѣло, и хꙋ́баво	and they found the body of St Petka, healthy and beautiful
143:	и миризмà хꙋ́бава, ко́л͛кото нави́ваше. тáзи мѷризмà на о́н͛зи смрадь.	and how (her) beautiful scent covered the odor of that stench!
144:	и онḯа члци бѣ́ха глꙋ́павы и не рáзꙋмны,	and those people were dumb and irrational
145:	и не мого́ха да сѐ осѣ́теть за оновà сто́е тѣ́ло.	and they couldn't understand that (it was a) holy body
146:	защо̀ и ни́кои не знáеше че̂ е тáмо погребе́на стаа пе́тка.	because nobody knew that St Petka was buried there
147:	о́ти бѣ́ше ѿ дáвна билà погребе́на.	because she was buried since long
148:	àмѝ се мнѡ̂го чю́диха кáкь да сто́рѧть.	and they wondered a lot what should they do
149:	и ре́коха си̂ ме́ждꙋ се́бѣ.	and they said to each other:
150:	ко́й пáкь да копáе на дрꙋ́го мѣ́сто.	ʺwho would dig elsewhereʺ
151:	àмѝ е тꙋ́ка то́изи гро́бь до́ста широ́кь и гльбо́кь,	ʺthis grave here is wide and deep enoughʺ
152:	да тꙋ́риме и онáзи мрь́ша, да нѐ смрди.	ʺlet's throw that corpse (here) as well, so that it doesn't stinkʺ
153:	а то̀ ако̀ бь́де товà сто тѣ́ло, бь ще го извáди.	ʺand if it would be a holy body, God will take it outʺ
154:	и зари́наха онáзи мрь́ша тáмо, при оновà сто́е тѣ́ло,	and they buried that corpse there next to that holy body
155:	и разыдо́ха се по домá сы.	and they all went home
156:	И ѿ тѣ́х нѣ́ко члкь геѡ́ргїе и́ме то мꙋ христїáнинь до́брь,	one of them (was) a certain Georgi, a good Christian
157:	и то́и като́ си поидѐ домá си. и по вече́рѣ нáпоконь стань̂ да сѐ пом́ли бꙋ,	and as he also went home and dined, he stood up to pray to God
	като́ си чи́нѣше сѣ́когы м́лба. мнѡ̂го.	as he always did, doing a lot of prayer
158:	и на съмнꙋ́ванїе заспà.	and at the twilight he fell down asleep
159:	и видѣ̀ еднà женâ като̂ еднà црца	and he saw a woman (looking) like a queen
160:	и сѣдѝ на сто́ль злáть свѣтликавь,	and she sat on a shiny golden throne
161:	и около нѥ́а мѡ́м͛ци хꙋ́бавы свѣтли́кавы.	and many beautiful, shiny boys (stood) around her
162:	и то́й се ꙋплáши,	and he was scared
163:	и пáде нá землꙗ,	and he fell to the ground
164:	и растрепе́ра се,	and he trembled

167:	и ꙋзе́ го за рькâ,	and he seized his arm
168:	и рче́ мꙋ.	and he said to him:
169:	станѝ геѡ́ргїе	ʺstand up, Georgi!ʺ
170:	и о́ти сте такà сто́риле,	ʺand as you did soʺ
171:	та стѐ остáвиле оновà тѣ́ло воне́що, при тѣ́ло то стѣ́и пе́т͛кы.	ʺas you left that stinking body next to the body of St Petkaʺ
172:	àмѝ ско́ро да по́йдешь	ʺyou shall go quicklyʺ
173:	да извáдишь мо́щи те стѣ́и пе́т͛кы,	ʺand you shall retrieve the relics of St Petkaʺ
174:	и да гы̀ остáвишь ꙋ ко́вчегь злать.	ʺand you shall put them to a golden coffinʺ
175:	защо̀ црь пожáли нѥ́ина добрынà.	ʺfor the King craves for her virtueʺ

178:	ско́ро извадѣ́те мои́ те мо́щи,	ʺretrieve my relics quicklyʺ
179:	и положѣ́те ги на хꙋ́баво мѣ́сто.	ʺand put them on a nice placeʺ
180:	Защо не мо́гꙋ да трьпѧ̂ áзь за мнѡ̂го то́йзи смрáд.	ʺbecause I can't suffer that stench anymoreʺ
181:	не бои́ш ли се ба, да нѐ бы̂ пꙋ́стиль бь о́г͛нь да вы̂ попáли.	ʺdon't you fear God that he'd cast fire to burn you?ʺ
182:	и áз ес͛мь члкь ѿ мáйка и ѿ бащь̂ ро́дена,	ʺand I am a human (too), born from a mother and a fatherʺ
183:	и моà бáщнина та е̂ епивáты щото́ го зовь́ть, и де́то сте вы́е сегà на нѥ́го.	ʺand my fatherland (is) Epibates, as you call it and where do you live nowʺ
184:	И прѣз ть́зи но́щь дрꙋ́гаа женâ хрстїáн͛ка, и́ме то ѝ ефти́мїе, и тїà такво́зи видѣ́ла.	and in that night another woman, a good Christian, her name was Efimia, saw such (a vision)

187:	ско́ро ꙋ́трѣ рáно да кáжете товâ да ви̂ ѿ ба о́г͛нь не изгорѝ.	ʺyou shall tell that early in the morning, so that you won't be burned down by the fire of Godʺ
188:	И наꙋ́трѣ излѣ́зоха и два̏ та,	and the both went out in the morning
189:	и кáзаха на си́чки те тáмо по коне́ць.	and told to all who where there to the end
190:	И като̂ чю́ха товà епивáт͛сцїи лю́дїе, ско́ро си́ч͛ки те те́коха	and as the people of Epibates heard it, they all hurried (to the grave)
191:	и сьс голѣ́ма рáдость извáдиха мо́щи те ѝ, като̂ нѣ́кое мнѡ̂гоцѣ́н͛ное скривáлище.	and they retrieved her relics with great joy, as a very precious treasure
192:	и мнѡ̂го се чю́диха на нѥ́ино то тѣ́ло,	and they wondered a lot about her body
193:	ѿ то́лкози врѣ́ме като̂ стоѝ цѣ́ло и хꙋ́баво	how could it stay so healthy after so much time
	и блгоꙋхáе и ѿ хꙋ́бава миризмà да сѐ члкь наси́ти.	and (how could it) smell of beautiful scent, so that one cannot stop smell it
194:	и ꙋзе́ха оновà тѣ́ло сь свѣ́щи и сьс͛ кади́лници, и ѳимїáнь. и измѷ́рно, и дрꙋ́гы хꙋ́бави аромáѳи.	and they took that body with candles and censers and thyme and myrrh and other beautiful incenses
195:	и ѿнѥ́соха ꙗ̀ сьс͛ голѣ́ма рáдость,	and carried her away with great joy
196:	и поло́жиха ꙗ̀ в че́ркова сты́хь апсль	and they laid her in the Church of the Holy Apostles
197:	И тáмо мнѡ̂го чю́до сто́ри тогáзи ста пе́тка.	and St Petka then performed many miracles there
198:	бѣ́сны исцѣлѣ́ха, и бо́лны. и глꙋ́хы, и е́ѕавы,	the mad were cured, and the ill, the deaf and the wounded as well
199:	и ѿ сѣ́каква бо́лесть кои̏ дохо́ждаха, и вѣ́ра и́маха чи́ста, и любо́вь сь си́чко срдце на стаа пе́т͛ка, то́йзи час и исцѣлѣ́ваха.	and those, who came, and had pure faith and love for St Petka from the whole heart, were cured from any illness instantly
200:	И прочю́ се по си́чка землꙗ̀ епивáт͛ска.	and she became famous throughout the whole land of Epibates
201:	и нѐ тáмо се прочю̀, àмѝ	and she became famous not (only) there
	и по цригрáд, и	but even in Tsarigrad
	по си́чка землꙗ̂.	and on the whole Earth
202:	И врѣ́ме бы̂ нѣ́кое,	and some time passed
203:	ослáбна грь́чьско црство.	the Greek kingdom became weak
204:	и сьс бжїе повелѣ́нїе доидо́ха римлѣ́не,	and the Romans came by the divine command
205:	и прѣе́ха цригрáд.	and they took Tsarigrad

	и сьсꙋ́ды що̀ бѣ́ха мнѡ̂гоцѣ́нны,	and ceremonial instruments, which were very precious
	зáедно и сты́е мо́щи,	together with holy relics

211:	тоги́ва като̂ видѣ́ха и дочáкаха царо̀грáждане, и блгочь́стивы̏ сьбо́рь вьздь́хна тврь́дѣ	as the Tsarigradians saw and suffered that, the Holy Synod sighed heavily
212:	и голѣ́мь скрь̀бь и голѣ́ма тьгà и́маха тогáзи.	and they were overcome with great sadness and sorrow
213:	и хо́дѣха като̂ мрь́твы,	and they walked as dead
214:	и м́лꙗха се бꙋ,	and they prayed to God
215:	и дꙋ́маха.	and they were saying:

220:	И въ товà врѣ́ме блгочстивы̏ црь трьновс͛кыи ıѡ́аннь асѣ́ню, крѣ́пко дрьжáше тогáзи црство.	and in that time John Asen, the honorable King of Tarnovo, son of the old Bulgarian King Asen, held his kingdom fast
221:	и ни́какь не ꙋбо́а се ѿ онḯа фре́н͛цїи като̂ прїе́ха цриград	and he was in no way scared by those Franks as they conquered Tsarigrad
222:	àмѝ е́днак͛ мꙋ приле́гна врѣ́ме войскà да вди́гне, да плѣнꙋ́ва не чь́стивїи	but he managed to raise an army to subdue the dishonorable (Franks)

	и áѳон͛скаа горâ си̏рѣ́ч стаа горâ.	and the Mount Athos, that is, the Holy Mountain
	и о́колꙋ що сь̂ грáдѡве, и	and the cities around Salonica
	со́лꙋнь, и си́чка землꙗ̂ ѳеталїи́скаа,	and all the land of Thessaly
225:	и тривалḯа ꙋзѐ, такà и далматḯа що е̂ арбанáшка дрьжáва,	and he took both Triballia (Serbia) and Dalmatia, which is a country of Albanians
226:	и прѣѐ и до дрáча.	and he conquered (it) up to Dyrrhacium
227:	и по си́чки зе́мли где̏ прѣѐ постáви митрополи́ти и епскпы свѣ́тлы и блгочстивы	and he placed bright and honorable metropolites and bishops to all the lands he conquered
	сьс нѥ́говы стїи хрисо́вꙋли, що сь̂ сегà ꙋ слáвна лáвра ꙋ стѣ́и го́рѣ.	by his golden bulls, which are now stored in the famous lavra on the Holy Mountain
228:	и нѐ ть́кмо тḯа зе́мли като̀ прѣѐ да сѐ остáви и да мꙋ́ се досáди.	and he wasn't satisfied by the lands he conquered
229:	àмѝ поидѐ на цригрáд,	but he marched to Tsarigrad as well
230:	и нѥ́го прѣѐ.	and he took it
231:	и що̀ бѣ́ха тáмо фре́н͛цїи, поклони́ха мꙋ се	and the Franks there bowed to him
	да сь нѥ́гова раꙗ̀,	to be his subjects
	и хазнà да мꙋ́ дáвать.	and to pay him tax

242:	àмѝ вы̂ и́ща що̂ е на вáша фре́н͛ска дрьжáва грáдь епивáть,	ʺbut I want from you (something), which is in your Frankish land the town of Epibatesʺ

246:	и поклони́ха се на ниѥ́гово то повелѣ́нїе.	and they bowed to his command
247:	и пꙋсти́ха писáнїе и по́клонь до цра,	and they sent a letter of respect to the king

253:	и мнѣ́ше мꙋ се ко́л͛ко да леты̀ и да фрь́ка под нбе́ то.	and he felt as he was flying in the skies
254:	и ѿ голѣ́ма рáдость не́ маше кáмо що̀ да сто́ри.	and he didn't know what to do because of the great joy

256:	ако сѝ издáмь си́чко злáто и сре́бро,	ʺif I give away all my gold and silverʺ
	заедно̀ и полови́на ѿ црство то си̂	ʺI would give the half of my kingdom together with itʺ

	и сще́нници облѣ́ченїи вь сще́нничьскы оде́жды,	and clerics clothed in ceremonial robes
264:	и провáждаха стаа пе́т͛ка сьс͛ кади́лници и ѳимїáном, и измѷ́рно, и сьс дрꙋ́гы хꙋ́бавы миризли́вы аромáѳи.	and they followed St Petka with censers and thyme and myrrh and other beautiful incenses
265:	И като̂ разбрà блгочь́стивыи црь ıѡáннь асѣ́нь, че̂ но́сѣть мо́щи те стѣ́и пе́ткы.	and as the honorable King John Asen found out that they bring the relics of St Petka

	и мáйка мꙋ црца еле́на,	(with) Queen Elena, his mother
	и нѥ́гова црца áнна, сь си́чки своѝ болѣ́ре.	and Anna, his queen with all their boyars
	и патрїáр͛хь кѷ́р васи́лїе, сь си́чки сще́нници, и дїáконе,	and the Patriarch lord Vasilii with all the clerics and deacons
	и си́чки лю́дїе ѿ грáдь,	and all the townspeople
266:	и доидо́ха си́ч͛ки пѣ́ши на ·д· по́гледе.	and all went out of the city on foot for four shots
267:	и срѣщнь́ха ꙗ̀ сьс͛ мнѡ̂го по́чсть.	and met her with great honors
268:	и поклони́ се црь до́ землꙗ,	and the king bowed to the ground
269:	и цѣлꙋвà ѝ рь́цѣ и тѣ́ло чстнѣ.	and he kissed her hands and body honorably
270:	и си́чки почстно поклони́ха сѐ и цѣлꙋ́ваха.	and everyone honorably bowed to her and kissed her
271:	и вне́соха ꙗ̀ в͛ грáдь в͛ че́ркова црева,	and they brought her to the city into the royal church
272:	и поло́жиха ꙗ̀ въ лѣ́то ѿ ро́ждьство хво, ·҂асв·:	and they placed (her) there in the year from the Birth of Christ 1202
273:	разли́чно чю́до и исцѣлѥ́нїе чи́ны, и до дне́шныи днь.	and she does miraculous healings until today
274:	ко́й сьс͛ чи́ста вѣ́ра прихо́жда на нѥ́инь ковче́гь.	(to everyone) who comes with pure faith to her coffin
275:	блгдтїю и члколю́бїемь га нáшего исѵ ха.	by the grace and the love for humans of our Lord Jesus Christ
