13: | и из͛ꙋчиха се на хы́тро́сть да врачю́вать. | And they learned the skill of healing |
си̏рѣ́ч да исцѣлѣ́вать бол͛нáвы лю́дїе, | that is, to heal ill people | |
и нѐ ть́кмо члци. амѝ и добы́т͛кь сѣ́как͛вь, ѿ сѣ́как͛ва бо́лесть. | and not only humans, but also all kinds of cattle, from all kinds of illnesses | |
14: | и нѝчто̂ не ꙋзи́маха, цѣнà защо̂ лꙗкꙋ́вать, нѝ злáто нѝ сребро̂, нѝ дрꙋ́го нѣ́что̂. | And they took no pay for the healing: neither gold, nor silver, nor anything else |
15: | амѝ хо́дѣха по си́ч͛ка землꙗ̀ | But they went about on the whole land |
16: | и исцѣлѣ́ваха, | And they healed |
17: | и ꙋчахꙋ да вѣрꙋ́вать въ га ıса ха. | And they taught faith in Lord Jesus Christ |
18: | И нѣ́кои̏ злы̏ члци и зави́стници, оклеветѝха гы цáрꙋ кари́нꙋ ри́м͛скомꙋ. | And some evil and jealous people slandered them to the Emperor Carinus of Rome |
Как͛ съ̂ маге́сници, и кáкь ꙋ́четь лю́дїе да вѣрꙋвáть име хво. и кáкь чѝнѧть чю́деса. | that they were magicians, teaching people to believe in the name of Christ and doing miracles | |
19: | и приве́доха гы прѣд цáра Кари́на. | And they brought them to Emperor Carinus |
20: | и рче имáмь цáрь. | And the Emperor said to them: |
21: | ѡ члци, вы́е каквà магїá чи́ните, | O people, what magic are you doing? |
22: | исцѣлѣ́вате бо́л͛ны, | You heal the ill |
23: | и ꙋчите гы да вѣрꙋ́вата ха распе́таго. | And you teach them to believe in Christ the Crucified |
24: | и ре́коха мꙋ и тїѐ. | And they said to him: |
25: | цáрꙋ, ны́е магїа не знáемь | O King, we do not know any magic |
26: | нѝ магїа вѣ́рꙋваме̂, дето е̂ лъ́сть диавол͛скаа. | Neither we believe in magic, which is a deception from the Devil, |
що се̂ дне́ска събы̂е, а ꙋ́трѣ съ̂ раз͛валѝ | which is made today and tomorrow falls apart | |
27: | амѝ ны́е чи́ниме исцѣлѥ́нїе. със͛ помощь сты́е троице. оца и сна и стго дха. | But we heal with the help of Holy Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit |
дето е̂ Єди́нь бь не раздѣ́л͛ныи, и црь нбсныи | which is one God, indivisible, heavenly King | |
и дето е̂ сꙋ́дїа на жи́вым и на мрь́твым | and which is a Judge of the living and the dead | |
28: | и цáрь като̂ чю̀ тїà дꙋ́мы ѿ тѣх раз͛гнѣвá се. | And as the Emperor heard those words from them, he became angry |
29: | защо̂, о́ти имáше зль̏ недꙋ́гь и бо́лест, лю́та | Because he had a bad illness |
30: | и мнѡ̂го ймь дꙋмаше | And he spoke a lot to them |
31: | и плáшѣше да гы̂ злѣ мъ̂чи, да се̂ ѿрекꙋ́ть ѿ ха. | And he threatened them with torture to make them renounce Christ |
32: | и тїе съ̂ помли́ха бꙋ. | And they prayed to God |
33: | и ѡбрáзь лице̂ то нѥ́гово ѡбрь́на се на плещи́ те мꙋ кри́во ѡзáдь. | And his face apparently (?) turned backwards on the shoulders |
34: | И тогáзи что̂ бѣ́ха око́ло цра вѣровáха въ хá | And then those, who were around the Emperor, believed in Christ |
35: | и мли́ха се, Ко́з͛мꙋ и дамїáнꙋ. да се̂ по́млеть бꙋ | And they prayed Cosmas and Damian to pray to God |
да мꙋ̀ се обрь́не пак лице̂ то нá право. | to turn his face back again correctly | |
36: | и тїе́ съ̂ по́млиха бꙋ | And they prayed to God |
37: | и ѡбрь́на мꙋ се лице̂ то прáво, | And his face turned correctly |
38: | и исцѣлѣ̀ ѿ нѥ́гова та си̂ бо́лесть. | And he was healed from his illness |
39: | и вѣровà и сам͛ си̂ црь, съ си́ч͛ки до́мь нѥ́говь, | And the Emperor himself believed together with all his house |
40: | и крти́ се. | And he baptized himself |
41: | и прово́дѝ стго коз͛ма и дамиáна със͛ голѣ́ма по́чест͛ до̀ дома имь | And he sent St. Cosmas and Damian to their home with great honors |
42: | и тогáзи исцѣли́ха и женꙋ̀ нѣкꙋю, | And then they healed a woman |
43: | и́ме то ѥ̂и палáдїа. | Her name (was) Palladia |
44: | и тиá като̂ исцѣлѣ, и зане́се стмꙋ дамїáнꙋ, ·г· ꙗ́ица | And as she was healed, she brought 3 eggs to St. Damian |
45: | и закле́ го въ и́ме хво, да гы̂ ꙋ́зме, | And she sweared to him in the name of Christ that he takes them |
46: | и едвà гы прїѐ. | And he reluctantly accepted them |
47: | И нáпоконь разбрà стыи ко́з͛ма, Кáк͛ Є̏ прїе́ль дамїáнь три̏ те ꙗѝцà. | And in the end St. Cosmas understood, that Damian had accepted the three eggs |
48: | и заръчѝ | And he commanded, |
Когá се прѣстáви стыи дамїань, | when St. Damian presents himself (dies), | |
да мꙋ̂ не погребꙋ́ть тѣ́ло то бли́зꙋ при нѥ́гово то. | that his body is not buried next to his, | |
амѝ дале́чь да мꙋ е гро̂бь, | but that his grave is far away | |
49: | защо́ е ꙋзель цѣ́на. | because he had taken pay |
50: | и прѣстави се прь́вѣнь козма, | And Cosmas died first |
51: | и нáпоконь прѣстáви се и стыи дамїáнь. | And in the end St. Damian died too |
52: | и мы́слѣха лю́дїе, где̏ да го̀ погребꙋ́ть дале́чь. | And people thought about where to bury him far away |
Като̂ имь бѣ́ше заповѣ́даль стыи ко́зма. | as it was had been commanded to them by St. Cosmas | |
53: | И тогáзи Ками́ла то́ꙗ час доте́че. що̂ бѣ́ше побѣснѣ́ла ѿ дїáвола. и исцѣли́ле бѣ́ха ю̀ сты̀. | And then in that time a camel came, which had been possessed by the Devil and healed by the saints |
54: | и продꙋ́ма члчьскыи езы́кь, | And (the camel) spoke out (with) human voice |
55: | и рче. | And (the camel) said: |
56: | да погрѣ́бете ст́го дамїáна бли́зꙋ при ст́го ко́з͛ма. | Bury St. Damian next to St. Cosmas |
57: | защо̂, не ꙋзѐ ꙗицá та зарадѝ цѣнà. | |
58: | ами гы̂ е ꙋзе́ль, зарадѝ и́ме бжїе. | |
59: | и такà наЄдно̂ и́мь поло́жиха мо́щи те. въ мѣ́сто что се̂ зовѐ фер͛мáнь въ́сточны | And thus they placed their relics on the place called East Thereman |

60: | Чю́до сты́мь враче́вем. | Miracle of Holy Healers |
61: | Мꙋ́жь нѣ́кои ѿ мѣ́сто фер͛мáн͛ско. въ врѣ́ме же́твы, поидѐ да жъ́не на ни́вꙋ свою̀. | A man from the area of Thereman in the time of harvest went to his field to reap |
62: | и ѿ слнце то се опе́че. | And he was sunburned by the sun |
63: | и ѿидѐ под Єди́нь дъ́бь да си̂ ѿпочи́не. | And he went under an oak to rest |
64: | и заспà те́ж͛кь съ́нь, | And he fell heavily asleep |
65: | и ѿво́ри си̂ ꙋстá та като̂ спѝ и хрь́ка. | And he opened his mouth as he was sleeping and snoring |
66: | и змїà доплъзѐ, | And a snake crawled there |
67: | и ꙋлѣ́зе мꙋ въ ꙋстá та | And it crawled in his mouth |
68: | и и пойде́ мꙋ въ чрѣво́ то. | And it went into his intestines |
69: | и то́и Когá се събꙋ́ди, и не ꙋсѣ́ти ни́що. | And when he woke up, he did not feel anything |
70: | и поидѐ на ни́ва та, | And he went back to the field |
71: | и жьнъ̀ до до вчера. | And he reaped until the evening |
72: | и пойде си̂ домâ да вчера | And he went home for a dinner |
73: | и нáпоконь като̂ вече́ра ꙗ́де и пѝ. | And then he ate and drank as he dined |
74: | и ле́гна си да сѝ ѿпочи́не. | And he laid himself down to rest |
75: | и тогáзи почѐ ѡнáзи змїà, да рѝта ꙋ нѥ́го злѣ̏. | And then the snake began to kick badly inside |
76: | и то́и приви́ка | And he called: |
77: | ско́ро ви́ж͛те что̂ мї е жи́во ꙋ коре́м͛ ть. | Come quickly to see what is alive in my stomach! |
78: | и събꙋ́диха се си́ч͛ки | And all woke up |
79: | и зе́ха да пи́пать, | And they started to touch him |
80: | и не можо́ха да познáють нѝчто̂ | And they could not find out anything |
81: | и то́и ѿ голѣ́ма оси́лость и бо́лесть. наче̂ да ви́ка и да плáче по́ тврьдѣ | And he began to scream and to cry more from the great pain and suffering |
82: | и зѐ да дꙋ́ма. | And he started to speak: |
83: | стà ко́з͛ма и дамїáне помогнѣ́те ми. | St. Cosmas and Damian, help me! |
84: | и послꙋ́шаха го то́изи час слꙋ́гы хвы ко́з͛ма и дамїáнь | And the servants of Christ Cosmas and Damian obeyed him in that moment |
85: | и дáдоха мꙋ те́ж͛кь съ́нь. | And they gave him deep slumber |
86: | и заспà. | And he fell asleep |
87: | и начѐ ѡ́н͛зи дїáволь змиà да излáзи из͛ нѥ́го, | And the devilish snake began to crawl out of him |
88: | Като̂ бѣ́ше ꙋпльзѣ́ль на съ́нь. | As it came in in slumber, |
такá го пàкы погнàха сты́ Коз͛ма, и дамїань, | thus it was again chased away by St. Cosmas and Damian, | |
да из͛пльзѝ пàкы на съ́нь. | to crawl out in slumber | |
89: | и из͛плъзѣ́ мꙋ из͛ь ꙋста та. | And it crawled out of his mouth |
90: | и гле́даха си́ч͛кы лю́дїе чю́до ѿ сты́ те врачѡ́ве. | And all the people looked at the miracle of the holy healers |
91: | и като̂ испльзѣ̀ ѡнáзи змїà ѿ ꙋстá та мꙋ. събꙋ́ди се ѡ́н͛зи члкь. | And as the snake crawled out of his mouth, the man woke up |
92: | и рче. | And he said: |
93: | да нѐ ꙋ́бїе нѝкои ть́зи змї̀а. | May nobody kills that snake |
94: | защо̂ е повелѣно ѿ сты̀ Ко́з͛ма и дамїáнь, да и́де въ ѡ́г͛нь гее́н͛скыи. | Because it was commanded by St. Cosmas and Damian to it to go to the fire of Gehenna |
95: | товà то́и изре́че. | Thus he spoke |
96: | и исче́зна ѡн͛зи дїáволь змїѝ. | And the devilish snake disappeared |
97: | и ѿидѐ въ мꙋкꙋ вѣ́чнꙋю. със͛ млтва и по́мощь, сты́мь врáчевем: | And it went to the eternal torment with the prayer and help of the holy healers |
98: | И дрꙋ́го чюдо, ѿ сты̏ врáч | And (hear) also another miracle of the holy healers |
99: | Бѣ́ше и дрꙋ́гы члкь на товà мѣ́сто | There was also another man in that place |
100: | име то мꙋ мáлахь | His name was Malach |
101: | сѣдѣ́ше бли́зꙋ при црква та стым врачевем. | He was settled (?) close to the church of holy healers |
102: | и то́и щѣ́ше да и́де на длъ́гь пꙋ́ть. | And he was going to leave for a long journey |
103: | и рче на женá та си̂, | And he said to his wife: |
104: | Єлà да по́йдеме ꙋ црква та дá се поклони́мь сто́мꙋ Коз͛мꙋ и дамїáнꙋ. | Come, let us go to the church to pay respect to St. Cosmas and Damian |
105: | и женá та мꙋ рче, | And his wife said: |
106: | Като си̂ ре́кль да пойдемо. | As you say, let us go |
107: | и ѿидоха прѣд црквá та на мѣ́сто что се̂ зовѐ Єфремáнь. | And they went in front of the church at the site called Thereman |
108: | и рче мáл͛хь на женъ́ та си̂. | And Malach said to his wife: |
109: | сегà áзь ѿхо́ждам на дль́гь пꙋ́ть. | Now I depart for a long journey |
110: | и те́бѣ прѣдáвамь ст́мꙋ ко́з͛мꙋ и дамїáнꙋ | And I give you to St. Cosmas and Damian |
111: | и тїе да ти бъдꙋ́ть на по́мощь, | And may they be for your help |
112: | и да те̂ ꙋпáзет ѿ си́ч͛ко зло̏. | And may they protect you from all evil |

120: | и завидѣ̀. | And he was jealous |
121: | и ище да ѝ сто́ри пáкость. | And he wanted to do her evil |
122: | и прѣтво́ри си̂ обрáзь като еди́нь млáдь мом͛кь | And he changed his appearance as a young boy |
123: | и поидѐ | And he went |
124: | и станъ̂ прѣд нѥ́ю. | And he stood up in front of her |
125: | и рче еи. | And he said to her: |
126: | мꙋ́жь тво́й пꙋсти́ ме̂ да те̏ заведꙋ̀ при нѥ́го. | Your husband sent me to bring you to him |
127: | à тїá го не вѣровà | But she did not believed him |
128: | и не ще̂ да и́де. | And she did not want to go |
129: | à дїáволь Є́и кáза си́ч͛ко что̂ ѝ ре́кль мꙋ́жь ѥ́и, когà ѿхо́ждаше. | But the Devil told her everything, what had been said to her by her husband, when he departed |
130: | амѝ и сегà затовá ме̂ пꙋ́сти при те́бѣ да те̏ заведꙋ̀. | And now, for this reason let me in, so that I bring you (to him) |
131: | à тїа мꙋ рче́. | But she said to him: |
132: | и́стинꙋ такá сме̂ дꙋмале. | Truly, we spoke thus |

144: | и тїа като̂ ви́дѣ̀ че съ̂ заклѐ, | And as she saw him having sweared himself |
тогази трь̀гна да и́де слѣ́дь нѥ́го. | then she went on with him | |
145: | и доидо́ха до нѣ́кое мѣ́сто, | And they came to one place |
146: | и наиде нѣ́коего члка, | And he found one man |
147: | и то́и прѣлъ́стень ѿ дїáвола. | And he (was) seduced by the Devil |
148: | и тїà тогáзи познà че е̂ дїáволь, | And she then understood that he was the Devil |
149: | оти щѣ́ше то́ꙗ час да ю̀ ꙋморѝ. | Because he wanted to kill her at the time |
150: | И тогáзи погле́да на нбо | And then she looked unto the heavens |
151: | и заплáка | And she cried |
152: | и рче, | And she said |
153: | бе помлꙋй ме. | O God, have mercy on me! |
154: | и ты̏ стыи козма и дамїáне помоѕѣ́те ми̂. | And you, o St. Cosmas and Damian, help me! |
155: | о́ти го вѣровах, | Because I believed him |
156: | и слѣ́дь то́го поидох. | And I followed him |
157: | àми се ско́ро подканѣ́те | So resolve soon |
158: | и доидѣ́те ми на по́мощь, да ме̂ избáвите ѿ того́зи крьвнѝка дїáвола. | And come to my help, so that you free me from that murderer, the Devil |
159: | и послꙋ́шаха ю̀ то́ꙗ час слꙋгы́ те хвы ко́зма и дамїань. | And in the moment the servants of Christ, Cosmas and Damian, obeyed her |

161: | и ѡ́н͛зи дїáволь поте́че при оного́ва стáрыго прѣль́стника | And the Devil ran to that old seduced one |
162: | и исче́зна | And he disappeared |
163: | и поидѐ ꙋ áда не сы́того. | And he went to insatiable Hades |
164: | И събы̂ се дꙋ́ма та двдꙋ прро́кꙋ что̂ рче. | And the word of David the Prophet was fulfilled, which says: |
165: | ро́вь ископà | He dug a hole |
166: | и паднъ̂ въ ꙗ́мꙋ дето ю̀ ископà. | And the one, who dug it, fell into the hole |
си̏рѣч. диáволь | that is, the Devil | |
167: | искà да ю̀ прѣ́льсти | He wanted to seduce her |
да ѝ пꙋ́сти дшъ та ꙋ áда не сы́того. | to send her soul to the unsatiable Hades | |
168: | à то́и се́бѣ си потопѝ ꙋ ада не сы́того, | But he drowned himself in the unsatiable Hades |
169: | И ѡ́ниа слꙋ́гы хвы оузе́ха ю̀ за рꙋкꙋ, | And those servants of Christ took her by the hand |
170: | и заве́доха ю̀ ꙋ до́мь ѥ́е, | And they brought her into her house |
171: | и казáха ѥи́ | And they told her: |
172: | Как͛ сме̂ ны́е ко́з͛ма и дамїáнь, дето се ты̏ нáмь помо́ли и доидо́х͛ме̂ | As we are Cosmas and Damian, whom you prayed, we came |
173: | та те̏ избáвих͛ме̂ ѿ крьвни́ка дїáвола. | so we freed you from that murderer, the Devil |
174: | И товà ре́коха. | And thus they spoke |
175: | и не видѣха се. | And they were not seen |
176: | и ѡнáзи женâ Като̂̏ разꙋмѣ̀ че ѐ бы́лы сты̀ ко́зма и дамїáнь. | And as that woman understood that they were St. Cosmas and Damian |
въздви́гна си̂ рꙋцѣ́ те нá нбо | she raised her hands towards the heavens | |
177: | и рче. | And she said: |
178: | бе блгодарю те, | O God, I thank you |
179: | че си̂ пꙋсти́ль ꙋго́дници те твоѝ Ко́зма и дамїáна. | For you have sent the ones who please you, Cosmas and Damian |
180: | и избави ме ѿ кръвни́ка дїáвола: | And you saved me from the murderer, the Devil |

182: | Покáзаха нѣ́кои члци. кáкь Є было̂ вь грáдь кор͛сꙋ́нь слꙋж͛ба оу нѣкоего члка. | Some people say about a service by a certain man in the city of Cherson |

187: | и рче и́мь ѡ́н͛зи члкь что̂ чи́нѣше слꙋж͛ба та, | And the man, who did the service, told them: |
188: | добрѣ̀ дойдо́х͛те брáтїа, | You are welcome, o brothers |
189: | амѝ простѣ́те. | But excuse me |
190: | защо̂ се съврь́ши ви́но то, | because there is no wine left |
191: | и не и́маме что̂ да пїе́мь. | And we have nothing more to drink |
192: | И ѡнїа мꙋ лю́дїе ре́коха, и сще́нници что̂ бѣ́ха прїишлѐ. | And the people and priests, who came, said: |
193: | идѝ | Go |
194: | и донесѝ водâ мнѡ̂го | And bring a lot of water |
195: | и напльнѝ вели́ка бъ́ч͛ва със͛ водꙋ, | And fill a big barrel with water |
196: | и пи́ ще̂м мѣ́сто ви́но | And we will drink it instead of wine |
197: | и напль́ни ѡ́н͛зи члкь бъч͛вꙋ със͛ во́дꙋ. | And the man filled a barrel with water |
