40: | kako xošteme da posreštneme xa sьs svetli svetilnici. | how she will meet Christ with a prepared lamp? |
41: | i kako bi dobro sьtvorila da ukrasitь svoju dšu, | And so how to decorate her soul |

42: | prïidite milostivi devici, da se nasladite kra-sota ráĭskaę. | ʺCome, dear maidens, enjoy the beauty of the paradise!ʺ |
43: | i tako provoždaše životь svoi po wnaa pustinę za mnogu vreme, | And thus she lived her life on that desert for a long time |
44: | lukavi že diavolь ne prestano plašeše ę. | But the Devil always frightened her |
45: | i pretvaraše se jako strašenь źverь. | And many times (he) changed himself to a terrible beast |
46: | i plašeše ju da bi wstavila pustinju, | (and he) would frighten her (away) quickly to leave the desert |
47: | nъ staa imaše xa pomoštnïka | But St. Petka had Christ as a helper |
48: | i ne prestano na nego vьziraše | and she look at Him perpetually |
49: | i slьzi ispuštaše, | and she poured tears |
50: | egdà prizivaše ba na pomoštь, vsa sila diavolska wtgonęše | When she called God's help, the entire devilish power left |

70: | i poide vь crkov prestei bdci naricaemei vlaxerna. | and (then) she went to (the) church of St Mary which is called Blachernae |
71: | i tamo pripade na ikona pre-stei bdci, | And there she bowed to the icon of the holy Saint Mary |

79: | razve tebe drugo ne imamь. | ʺI have not got anything else except you.ʺ |
80: | i egda bexь vь pustinju tebe. imaxь pomoštnicu. | ʺAnd when I was in the desert, I had you as a helperʺ |
81: | i sega esmь vь mire | ʺbut now I have returned into (the) worldʺ |
82: | i paki ne wstavi mene gpže bdce. | ʺand again, don't leave me, o Lady, Mother of Godʺ |
83: | i poide staę vь svoe wtьčestvo epivatь. | And the Saint went to her fatherland Epivat |
84: | i prebistь tamo vreme ne malo, | And there she stayed some time |
85: | i nikoi ne poznavaše ę, | and nobody knew her |
86: | i egda vide svoe prestavlenie. sъtvori molba kь bu | and as she saw her death (coming), she prayed to God |
87: | i reče. | and she said: |
88: | člveko-ljubče vldko, da ne wstaviši rabu tvoju. | ʺO, Lord, Lover of humans, do not leave me, Your servantʺ |
89: | na tebe, gsdi azь nadeju se. da me ne wstaviši, | ʺI put my hopes on You, o Lord, that You will not leave meʺ |
90: | i nastavi rabu tvoju. | ʺso help Your servantʺ |
91: | kь tebe pribegla esmь. gi bže moi. | ʺTo you I fled, my Lord God.ʺ |
92: | poveli agglu. mirnu. da prïimetь moju dšu. i da ę sočetetь sъs aggli i arxaggli, | ʺGive a command to a peaceful angel to take my soul and to place it among angels and archangelsʺ |
93: | jako blgoslovenь esi vo veki ve-kovь | ʺfor You are praised in eternityʺ |

95: | i vь toę čas predade dšu svoju vь- ruce bžïi, | And in this time she surrendered her soul into the arms of God |
96: | i nekoi xrïstiane, pogreboxa telo, | And some christians buried her body |
97: | i- ne znaexa wt gde beše prišla. | and they did not know from where she came |
98: | i tako provodi dni. svoi na sego života. | And so came the day in this one's life |
99: | i tamo naide večni pokoi,, | and there she found eternal peace |
100: | I da pokažeme kako i sьmrьti pokaza čudo. | And may us show what miracle she showed (after) death |

102: | na stlьpь prebivaše, | he lived on a pillar |
103: | i posteše se tamo blizь groba stei petki. | and he fasted close to the site of St. Petka's grave |
104: | i priluči se tamo | And so it came to pass |
105: | i umre nekoi korabčia. | that one sailor died |
106: | i korabčïi vrьlixa go tamo bli-zu pri slьpa. | And the (other) sailors threw him in the vicinity of the pillar |
107: | i poče da isxoditь smradь wt onova telo | And stench started to come out of this body |
108: | i- povele posnikь da iskopajutь dupka golema pri slьpa i da go zakopaętь. | And the hermit commanded to dig a big hole next to the pillar and to bury it |
109: | egda počexa kopati naĭdoxa telo steĭ petki. | When they started to dig, find the body of Saint Petka |
110: | ispuštaše blgouxanie. | it had a nice scent |
111: | i nekoi člvekь imenemь gewrgïa, pomoli se bu da mu pokažetь bь | And a certain man, with the name Georgi, prayed to God to show him (?). |
112: | egda večerь bistь, leže spati. | When it was evening, he lied down to sleep |
113: | i vide na snь edna žena crca krasna sede na prestolь zlati i voine mnogo okolo neę. | And he saw a woman in his dream, a beautiful queen, sitting on a golden throne and many warriors around here |
114: | i ufati gewrgïa | And (one of the soldiers) seized Georgi |
115: | i reče mu | and he said to him: |
116: | počto wstavixte smrьd-livo telo pri moštï stei, | ʺWhy did you leave the dead body next to the holy relics?ʺ |
117: | nъ skoru poidi | ʺGo quicklyʺ |
118: | i izvadi mošti stei petki. | ʺand retrieve the relics of Saint Petka!ʺ |
119: | i postavi gi u govčegь zlati, | ʺAnd put them in a golden coffinʺ |

skoru priidxa sьs mnogu radostь. | soon they came closer with a lot of happiness | |

131: | i zanesoxa ixь sьs temi-anъ i svešti | and they took them with thyme and candles |
132: | i položixa ixь vь crkovь stix aptlь | and they laid them down in the church of the Holy Apostles |

134: | togda mnogo besni isceli. slepi gluxi i vsakna bolezni koi prixoždaxa sьs vera. | then she healed many possessed, blind, deaf and all (other) ill, who came with faith |

136: | ne tъkmo epivati nъ- do Crigrad'. | (and) not only in Epibates, but in Tsarigrad, too |
137: | i togda beše wslabelo grьčesko crtvo. | And afterwards the Greek kingdom weakened |
138: | i sьs bžïemь proizvoleniemь prïidoša rimlęne | And with God's will the Romans came |
