7:	neĭno žitie i neini, sti moštì, i neino čudo sьs postь i sъs slьzi. koi ezikь možetь izrešti.	Whose tongue could tell (of) her life and her holy relics, and her wonder with the fasting and with tears?
8:	kolika dobrodetь pokaza, na epivatsko mesto i na trakitskoe i trьnovь i na misia i na dalmati.	How much virtue she showed in the land of Epibates and in the Thracian (land) and in and in Tъrnovo, and in Moesia, and in Dalmatia!
	i ne tkmo po tia mesta nь i po- vsudu.	And not only there, but also everywhere else

15:	xodexa po zapovedi gsdni	they lived (ʺwalkedʺ) according to the Lord's commandments
16:	i bexa milostvi.	and they were merciful
17:	xodexa po zapovedi bžii,	they lived (ʺwalkedʺ) according to the God's commandments

20:	i stana na maditь grad episkopь.	and he became the bishop of Matidia
21:	i naučixa gi na strax bžii i na zakonь xristianski.	And they taught them to fear God and His law
22:	i neini ro-diteli prestavixa se	And her parents presented themselves (died)
23:	i wstana staę sъs brata svo-ego eftimia.	and (Petka) remained with her brother
24:	i wnь mnogo čudo pokaza,	And he did many miracles too
25:	poneže beše i toi mnogo prostilь vsu stranu wnu. sъs postь i čistota.	because he was and enlightened his entire country with his fasting and purity

28:	ni- jastie imaše, ni postelę.	she had neither food nor soft bedding
29:	i poide vь pustinju	And she went to the desert
30:	i ta-mo prebivaše agglskago žitia, jakože ilïa ı iwana krstitelę.	and there lived an angelic life, like Elias and John the Baptist
31:	postь bdenïe metanie slьzi i vozdixanïe	Fasting, vigil, prayer, tears and gasps
32:	Zime wt studь trьperaše	in the winter was trembling from cold
33:	lete wt slnce goreše.	in the summer she was burning from the sun
34:	i. trava beše eĭ jastie,	And grass was her food
	i to na zaxodь slnce.	and even that only at the sunset
35:	i mo-lba ne prestano tvoraše,	and she prayed (ʺdid prayerʺ) perpetually
36:	i nikako ne imaše pomislь ni za dom ni za roditele ni za srodnici ni za krasni wdeždi, ni za jastia i pitia.	and (she) wouldn't have a thought neither about a house, nor about the parents, nor kinsman, nor about beautiful clothes, nor food and something to drink.
37:	nikako ne pomišlęše tako.	She did not think about anything like that
38:	tьkmo sьs slьzi i molba prebivaše,	And with tears and prayers she lived
39:	i na vsakь čas vtoro prišestvie xvo misleše.	and she thought every time about the Second Coming of Christ
40:	kako xošteme da posreštneme xa sьs svetli svetilnici.	how she will meet Christ with a prepared lamp?
41:	i kako bi dobro sьtvorila da ukrasitь svoju dšu,	And so how to decorate her soul
	i da počuetь glas evangelski wt xa	to hear that voice of Christ from the Gospel:
42:	prïidite milostivi devici, da se nasladite kra-sota ráĭskaę.	ʺCome, dear maidens, enjoy the beauty of the paradise!ʺ

47:	nъ staa imaše xa pomoštnïka	But St. Petka had Christ as a helper

60:	Egda staę takovo videnie vide razume kako wt ba estь tova videnie.	When the Saint saw this vision, she understood that this vision was from God
61:	i pozna kako xoštetь skoru da se presta-vitь	And she knew she was to die soon
62:	i raduvaše se,	and she rejoiced
63:	nь griža imaše kako da wstavit pustinju,	and (she) was worried about leaving the desert
64:	dševni razgovorь.	(which provides?) consolation of the soul
65:	i togda staa wstavi pustinju,	And then the Saint left the desert
66:	i wtide prežde vь crigradь.	and she went first to Tsarigrad

68:	i ne prestano molęše se bu,	and she prayed to God perpetually
69:	i poide po vsi crkvi jàkože nekoę pčela trudoljubna.	And she went to every church like a hard-working bee
70:	i poide vь crkov prestei bdci naricaemei vlaxerna.	and (then) she went to (the) church of St Mary which is called Blachernae
71:	i tamo pripade na ikona pre-stei bdci,	And there she bowed to the icon of the holy Saint Mary
72:	i mnogo izlia slьzi	and she shed many tears
73:	i tako molęše se,	And so she prayed
74:	gpže Bce mati moę vldčce, što si porodila gsda ba isa xa moego.	ʺO lady, Mother of God, my mother, my lady, who gave birth to my Lord God Jesus Christʺ
	i azь na tebe nadeju se da me po(m)ilueši	ʺand in thee I hope that thou hast mercy upon meʺ
	i da se ne vozgnusiši wt mene.	ʺdon't turn away in disgust from meʺ
	ni wt moi grexove	ʺnor of my sinsʺ
75:	poneže wt moju mladosь tvoemu snu posledovax	ʺbecause I followed thy son and prayed since my youthʺ

77:	ti znaeši žensko esьstvo. moju slabostь	ʺyou know my womanly nature and my weaknessʺ
78:	i tebe imamь pomoštnica	ʺand I have you as a helperʺ
79:	razve tebe drugo ne imamь.	ʺI have not got anything else except you.ʺ
80:	i egda bexь vь pustinju tebe. imaxь pomoštnicu.	ʺAnd when I was in the desert, I had you as a helperʺ
81:	i sega esmь vь mire	ʺbut now I have returned into (the) worldʺ
82:	i paki ne wstavi mene gpže bdce.	ʺand again, don't leave me, o Lady, Mother of Godʺ
83:	i poide staę vь svoe wtьčestvo epivatь.	And the Saint went to her fatherland Epivat
84:	i prebistь tamo vreme ne malo,	And there she stayed some time
85:	i nikoi ne poznavaše ę,	and nobody knew her
86:	i egda vide svoe prestavlenie. sъtvori molba kь bu	and as she saw her death (coming), she prayed to God
87:	i reče.	and she said:
88:	člveko-ljubče vldko, da ne wstaviši rabu tvoju.	ʺO, Lord, Lover of humans, do not leave me, Your servantʺ
89:	na tebe, gsdi azь nadeju se. da me ne wstaviši,	ʺI put my hopes on You, o Lord, that You will not leave meʺ
90:	i nastavi rabu tvoju.	ʺso help Your servantʺ
91:	kь tebe pribegla esmь. gi bže moi.	ʺTo you I fled, my Lord God.ʺ
92:	poveli agglu. mirnu. da prïimetь moju dšu. i da ę sočetetь sъs aggli i arxaggli,	ʺGive a command to a peaceful angel to take my soul and to place it among angels and archangelsʺ
93:	jako blgoslovenь esi vo veki ve-kovь	ʺfor You are praised in eternityʺ
94:	aminь.,,	ʺamenʺ
95:	i vь toę čas predade dšu svoju vь- ruce bžïi,	And in this time she surrendered her soul into the arms of God
96:	i nekoi xrïstiane, pogreboxa telo,	And some christians buried her body
97:	i- ne znaexa wt gde beše prišla.	and they did not know from where she came
98:	i tako provodi dni. svoi na sego života.	And so came the day in this one's life
99:	i tamo naide večni pokoi,,	and there she found eternal peace
100:	I da pokažeme kako i sьmrьti pokaza čudo.	And may us show what miracle she showed (after) death
101:	nekoi postnikь imaše tamo	There was a man fasting
102:	na stlьpь prebivaše,	he lived on a pillar
103:	i posteše se tamo blizь groba stei petki.	and he fasted close to the site of St. Petka's grave
104:	i priluči se tamo	And so it came to pass
105:	i umre nekoi korabčia.	that one sailor died
106:	i korabčïi vrьlixa go tamo bli-zu pri slьpa.	And the (other) sailors threw him in the vicinity of the pillar
107:	i poče da isxoditь smradь wt onova telo	And stench started to come out of this body
108:	i- povele posnikь da iskopajutь dupka golema pri slьpa i da go zakopaętь.	And the hermit commanded to dig a big hole next to the pillar and to bury it
109:	egda počexa kopati naĭdoxa telo steĭ petki.	When they started to dig, find the body of Saint Petka
110:	ispuštaše blgouxanie.	it had a nice scent
111:	i nekoi člvekь imenemь gewrgïa, pomoli se bu da mu pokažetь bь	And a certain man, with the name Georgi, prayed to God to show him (?).
112:	egda večerь bistь, leže spati.	When it was evening, he lied down to sleep
113:	i vide na snь edna žena crca krasna sede na prestolь zlati i voine mnogo okolo neę.	And he saw a woman in his dream, a beautiful queen, sitting on a golden throne and many warriors around here
114:	i ufati gewrgïa	And (one of the soldiers) seized Georgi
115:	i reče mu	and he said to him:
116:	počto wstavixte smrьd-livo telo pri moštï stei,	ʺWhy did you leave the dead body next to the holy relics?ʺ
117:	nъ skoru poidi	ʺGo quicklyʺ
118:	i izvadi mošti stei petki.	ʺand retrieve the relics of Saint Petka!ʺ
119:	i postavi gi u govčegь zlati,	ʺAnd put them in a golden coffinʺ
120:	poneže i crь požali neini mošti,	ʺbecause the king honoured her relicsʺ
121:	i gь xoštetь da ę proslavitь.	ʺand God wants to make her famousʺ

125:	ne boiši li se ba da ne padnetь ognь wt nbsa da vi pogo-ritь	ʺdon't you fear God will throw fire from heaven on you?ʺ
126:	poneže azь esmь wt epivatia	ʺbecause I am from Epibatesʺ
127:	i taę noštь i- druga nekoę žena imenemь еfimia	And this night and some other woman, called Efimia,
	i wna takovo videnie vide,	and she saw such a vision
128:	i egda skazaxa na epivatski ljudie,	And when they told to the people of Epivat
	skoru priidxa sьs mnogu radostь.	soon they came closer with a lot of happiness
129:	i naidoxa mnogocenoe sьkrovište.	and they found the very precious treasure
130:	i ïzvadixa sti mošti.	And they took out the holy relics
131:	i zanesoxa ixь sьs temi-anъ i svešti	and they took them with thyme and candles
132:	i položixa ixь vь crkovь stix aptlь	and they laid them down in the church of the Holy Apostles
133:	i- tamo mnogo čudo sъtvori.	And there many miracles happened
134:	togda mnogo besni isceli. slepi gluxi i vsakna bolezni koi prixoždaxa sьs vera.	then she healed many possessed, blind, deaf and all (other) ill, who came with faith
135:	i proču se po vsa zemlę epivatska,	and it was famous around the whole land of Epibates
136:	ne tъkmo epivati nъ- do Crigrad'.	(and) not only in Epibates, but in Tsarigrad, too
137:	i togda beše wslabelo grьčesko crtvo.	And afterwards the Greek kingdom weakened
138:	i sьs bžïemь proizvoleniemь prïidoša rimlęne	And with God's will the Romans came
139:	i uzexa crigrad,	and they took Tsarigrad
140:	jakože reče prrkь dvdь,	because the prophet David said
141:	sъs palica žilezna udrъžaxь,	ʺWith an iron stick I ruledʺ
146:	i togda plenixa frenci	And then Franks pillaged
147:	i vsa wbraxa.	and they robbed everything
148:	i mošti stei wtnesoša vь rimь.,,,	And they took the holy relics to Rome
149:	I vь to vreme blgočestivi crь, bolgarski. vь trъnovo ıwanъ asenъ, sinь staromu cru asenju, krepko drьžaše togda crstvo,	And at this time the honorableBulgarian king in Tъrnovo, Ioan Asen, son of the old king Asen, strongly held the kingdom back then.

157:	ne tъkmo tia zemli prie nь i crigrad	He did not just take these lands, but also Tsarigrad

163:	ne iskamь wt vasь ni zlato, ni srebro, tъkmo što imatь u epivatъ mošti stei petki da mi go poslete sьs kovčega	ʺI don't want gold or silver from you, only the relics of Saint Petka that there are in Epivat, that you send me them with the coffinʺ

165:	togda počuxa frenci, što bexa u crigradь,	Then the Franks in Tsarigrad heard (obeyed?)
166:	poslaxa pisanie do cra	they sent a letter to (ʺintoʺ) the king

168:	cru čestiti molimo ti se, da povelitь tvoę drьžava da prïidutь episkopi i da prenesutь mošti stei petki vь tvoe slavnoe crstvo,,	ʺO honored King, we beg you, that your land will command bishops to come and take the relics of St. Petka to your glorious landʺ
169:	Egda poču crь takiva reči, provodi prewsštennago marka mitropolita velikago sъs mnogoju čьstь. da poidetь do epivatь grad da prenesetь telo prpdbnïa petki. vь slavnii grad trьnovь.	When the king heard these words, he commanded Marko the superior mitropolit with great honors to go to Epibates and to take the body of the Reverend Petka in the glorious city of Tarnovo

	izide iz grad sьs mtrïju svoeju crca elena. i sьs svoju crcu annu,	he went out of the city with his mother, Queen Elena and and his Queen Anna
	i patriarxь čstni go-spodinъ vasilia, sъs vsemь pričetomь crkovnimь i množestvom bezčislenimь narodomь.	and also the honorable lord, Patriarch Basil with all the clergy and endless people
