| 4: | edno ot ispitiju bžiju | One: from God's trial |
| kogi ispituva bgъ člvekъ dali ljubi bga | when God tests man's love for Him | |
| kogi mu doide ot negde nekoę beda | when calamity comes upon him from somewhere | |
| 5: | vtoro biva kogi se otluči bgъ ot člveka za nekoę sogrešenie | The second one is when God separates Himself from man because of a sin |
| 6: | a treto biva nai źlo | And the third one is the worst - |
| 7: | kogi sas vese ôstavi bgъ člveka | when God abandons man entirely |
| 8: | ot iskušenne bžie biva i źlo i beda i napastъ | From God's temptation comes evil and calamity and scourge |
| kakvoto potegli i pravedni iôvъ | which the righteous Job suffered himself | |
| 9: | če beše člvekъ pravedenъ i dobrъ i mltivъ | for he was a righteous and good and merciful man |
| predъ bga i predъ člveci | in front of God and others | |
| 10: | iôvъ imaše sedamъ sinove i dъšterъki tri | Job had seven sons and three daughters |
| 11: | i ôvci imaše tri xilędi sedamъ xilędi | he had seven thousand sheep |
| 12: | kamilju imaše tri xilędi | he had three thousand camels |
| 13: | volove imaše dve xiljadi | he had two thousand oxen |
| 14: | i kravi petъ stotinъ | and five hundred cows |
| 15: | i kone xerъgelię sedamъ stotinъ | and a herd of seven hundred horses |
| 16: | i ratae imaše mlogo | he had many farmhands too |
| 17: | i rabota i sluguvane bezъkraino mlogo | and work without end |
| 18: | a koliko srebro i zlato imaše iovo ne izъbroeno | and how much uncounted silver and gold Job had... |
| 19: | no vъ malko dni sve se dovrъši | but in few days everything ended |
| 20: | i ništo mu ne ôstanu | and he was left with nothing |
| 21: | posle i deca ta mu izmrexu | then his children died too |
| 22: | toko ônъ ôstanu i žena ta mu | only him and his wife were left |
| 23: | takovo vremę dočeka | he suffered such times |
| 24: | i snaga ta otživiniče | that his body got covered with scrofula |
| 25: | i ležeše kato nikoi na bunište isъfrъlenъ | and he lied there like nobody, thrown away at a dumping ground |
| 26: | i čirepъ ne maše da si ostruže snaga ta | he did not either have a splitter to scrape his body |
| 27: | i xlebъ ne maše da ede ili krъčagъ vodu da pie | nor did he have bread to eat or a jug to drink water |
| 28: | a žena negova stanula sirotica | Meanwhile his wife became a pauper |
| 29: | i odeše ot ižu do xiu ta prose xlebъ ta mu prinoseše | and she went from hut to hut to beg for bread and bring it to him |
| 30: | i metnuvaše mo ot dalekъ | and she threw it to him from afar |
| 31: | i dumaše mu | and she talked to him: |
| 32: | dokogi da ležišъ ti tuka otbidniče tolъkova poxulenъ | Until when are you going to lie here, you wretch, ever so slandered? |
| 33: | zašto ne rečešъ nekoę xulna duma na boga | Why don't you say a slanderous word to God? |
| 34: | dano bi umrъ da počinišъ da ne teglišъ tolkova zlo | So that (you) die doing (at least) something to not suffer so much evil |
| i moę duša da otdaxne ot tolkova smratъ što izlazi ot snaga ta tvoę | and so that my soul takes a rest from the whole stench that comes out of your body. | |
| 35: | togiva se otbrъnu iotvo | Then Job turned around |
| 36: | ta i reče | and said to her: |
| 37: | nali si žena bezumna | Are you a reckless woman? |
| 38: | kakvo da poxulimъ na boga kogi ni beše dalъ bgъ tolko dobro | Why should I blaspheme God, when he gave us so much good? |
| 39: | nali znaešъ kakvo se radavaxmo o bezumnice | You know how happy we were, oh you reckless one |
| 40: | a sъga kakvo da ne pretrъpimo tova zlo | Why should we now not bear through this evil? |
| 41: | i taka provodi iovo svoi dni u bolestъ | And so Job spent his days in illness |
| 42: | zašto beše pravedenъ člvekъ bži | for he was a righteous man of God |
| 43: | beše pravedenъ i crkovnikъ i posnikъ i bgu ugodenъ | he was a man of the church, he was a faster and pious |
| 44: | ta mo zavide dięvolъ | so the Devil got envious of him |
| 45: | ta se obzaloži sasъ drugago dijavola | and laid a bet with another devil |
| 46: | ta mu izъmori sva ta stoka šte imaše bogati iovo | and killed all the stock that the wealthy Job had |
| 47: | posle mu izmori sinove te i dъšteri te | then he killed his sons and daughters |
| 48: | i obraxa mu srebro to i zlato to | and they robbed him of his silver and gold |
| 49: | nai posle dięvolъ i nego poxraka | finally, the Devil spat on him too |
| 50: | ta stanu sve rani snaga ta mu | and his body became full of wounds |
| 51: | i oživiniče | and it caught scrofula |
| 52: | ta tečeše gnoi | so pus was running |
| 53: | i beše fanulъ črъvę ou snaga ta | and his body got infected with worms |
| 54: | i ne možeše da se preobrъne na druga ta strana ot bolesti | and he could not turn on the other side because of sickness |
| 55: | ta pa nikakvo nikakvo ne poxuli na bga | but he did not defame God |
| 56: | čuete li xrtiani koliko ljubovъ imaše bogati iovo za boga | Do you, christians, hear how much love for God the wealthy Job had? |
| 57: | isprosilъ beše diavolъ ot bga da oskrъbi iova da | The Devil had asked God to offend Job |
| go ispita dali šte ljubii iova bga na skrъbno vreme | in order to test him if he will love God in times of sorrow | |
| 58: | a bgъ znaeše če ne šte iovo da poxuli na bga | but God knew Job will not defame God |
| 59: | takmo si šteja bgъ da go ostavi da potegli zlo za uverenie | yet God wanted him to suffer evil for the sake of belief |
| da veruvamo i nija na tię zločesti dni naši | so that we, too, have faith in these bad days | |
| 60: | i doide vreme i denъ da si služi iovo stogo oca nikolae | and the time and day came for Job to make a service to the holy father (St.) Nicholas |
| 61: | niti imamъ pari da si kupimъ vosokъ | he did not have money to buy himself wax |
| 62: | niti imamъ da si kupimъ ѳemęnъ | nor did he have (money) to buy himself incense |

| 63: | toko brъknu ou pazova | he just put his hand in his neckline |
| 64: | ta izvadi ot snaga ta si tri črъvę | and he took three worms out of his body |
| 65: | i reče na žena ta si | and he said to his wife: |
| 66: | na ti tię črъvove | Here, (take) these three worms, |
| 67: | da ot otidešъ na pazarъ | go to the market |
| 68: | da gi dadešъ | give them |
| 69: | za edinъ črъvъ• da vzmešъ žito | take grain for one worm |
| 70: | a za drugi vosokъ | and for another one wax |
| 71: | a za tretię da zemašъ ѳamianъ | and for the third one take incense |
| 72: | a otbidnica žena reče | and the wretch of a woman said: |
| 73: | člveče bžii koi xoče tebe da uzme črъvę | Oh you, man of God, who would want to take worms from you |
| da ti dade žito i vosokъ i ѳimięnъ | to give you grain and wax and incense? | |
| 74: | a iovo reče | And Job said: |
| 75: | ti idi sasъ ime bžei | You go with God's name |
| 76: | i pomoli se stomu nikolae | and pray to Saint Nicholas |
| 77: | vze štešъ potreba | you will get what you need |
| 78: | i ona uze tię tri črъvove | And she took these three worms |
| 79: | i varъza gi u krъpu | and she tied them in a cloth |
| 80: | i zanese gi na pazarъ | and she took them to the market |
| 81: | i reče | and she said |
| 82: | dukęnџi za ime bže na ti na ti tię tri črъvove | O merchant, in the name of God, here, (take) these three worms |
| 83: | ta mi dai makarъ tri zrъna žito i malo vosokъ i ѳimęnъ | and give me even if only three grains of wheat and a little wax and incense |
| da si otslužimo stago oca nikolaju i | so that we serve the holy father Nicholas | |
| nai dukęnъџię uze krъpa ta sasъ črъvove te | And that merchant took the cloth with the worms | |
| 85: | i turi ju na lavicu | and he put it on the shelf |
| 86: | i dade na žana ta žito i vosokъ i ѳimianъ | and gave the woman wheat and wax and incense |
| 87: | i ottide si žena ta | and the woman left |
| 88: | a dukęnџia razъrъza krъpa ta da vidi kakvi su tię črъvove | and the merchant untied the cloth to see what these worms were |
| 89: | kogi pogleda u krъpa ta tri žlъtici | when he looked, in the cloth (were) three gold coins |
| 90: | a otnъ skoro trъča po neę da ju gi dade | and he soon ran after her to give them back to her |
| 91: | i ne može da ju naide | and he could not find her |
| 92: | vidite li xrtiane čudesa | Do you, christians, see the miracles? |
| 93: | posle iovina žena svari onova žito | Then Job's wife cooked the wheat |
| 94: | i otslužixu sa stogo nikolae | and they served Saint Nicholas |
| 95: | i osta imъ edna krivačka vareno žito | and they were left with a handful of cooked wheat |
| 96: | iovo reče | Job said |
| 97: | supružnici moę uzmi tova žito | O my wife, take this wheat |
| 98: | i vrъži go u krъpu | and tie it in a cloth |
| 99: | i dobre go skri da ni bude gotovo za godina | and hide it well so that it is ready for us in a year |
| 100: | če ne ma i togiva za što da si kupimo | because then there will be nothing to buy for, too |
| 101: | i ona skri žito to | And she hid the wheat |
| 102: | kogi bi do godinu doide denъ pakъ da si služetъ stago nikolae | When a year passed, the day for the service to St. Nicholas came again. |
| 103: | uze žena ta iovina krъpa ta | The wife of Job took the cloth |
| da vidi da ne bude izъgnilo | to see if the wheat had rotted | |
| 104: | žito to sotvori bgъ na marъgaritъ | (and when she looked), God had turned the wheat into pearls |
| 105: | i zanese žena ta tri zrъna na pazarъ pagi na togovaa dukęџię | and the woman took the three grains to the market, again to this merchant |
| da si uzme potrebiju za službu | to get what she needed for the service | |
| 106: | onъ vide zrъna ta če e marъgaritъ | he saw that the grains were pearls |
| 107: | uze gi | he took them |
| 108: | i dade i žito i vosokъ i ѳimęnъ | and he gave her wheat and wax and incense |
| 109: | i šte mnogo groševe i dade | he gave her many more coins too |
| 110: | vidite li brate kakvo bgъ ispituva člveka | Do you, brothers, see how God tests man |
| i tvori znamenię i čudesa | and creates omens and miracles? | |
| 111: | posle iovo ozrave | Then Job recovered |
| 112: | i dobi poveče stoka | and he got more stock |
| 113: | i dobi poveče srebro i zlato | and he got more silver and gold |
| 114: | i dobi drugi sinove i dъšteri | and he got other sons and daughters |
| 115: | razumexъti li xrtięne | Did you understand, Christians? |
| 116: | tova bgъ javi da vidimo nie i da veruvamo gda našego iisa xrta i daržiimo sti praznici | God showed this for us to see and believe our God Jesus Christ and to hold the holy holidays |
| 117: | dosta su namъ u nedela ta šesъ dni da rabotimo | To work six days a week is pretty much for us |
| 118: | sedmi denъ stuju nedelju da praznuvamo | let us celebrate the seventh day, the holy Sunday |
| 119: | ta da ni bgъ pomiluva i da ni pomogne vo slavu bžiju | so that God reprieves us and helps us in into God's glory |
