3:	ʾi donése mu gd͒ь bg͂ь na pámetь kakvo da učíni da vìdi koʾjá e véra náĭ čísta ʾi naĭ, xúbava na tʾója st̃ь	And Lord God brought to his mind what to do to see, which faith is the purest and most beautiful in this world.
4:	zaštó moskále vь ʾwnóva vréme ne béxu kr͒tenì	Because at that time the Muscovites were not baptized.
5:	ʾi réče cr̃ь na svóĭ nastóĭnicï štotó mu béxu náĭ vérni	And the king said to his retainers, who were his most loyal ones:
6:	da ĭdete po svì grádove kudè ʾima cr̃ïe ʾilì králwve	ʺGo to all the cities, where there are emperors or kings!ʺ
7:	da glédate koʾjá véra kakvo drьžì čístotù ʾi kakvo ʾjádene ʾede ʾi koʾjá véra kakvo sè móli bg̃u	ʺObserve, how which faith upholds its purity, what it eats, and how which faith prays to God!ʺ
8:	tovà po sví te, véri da vídite	ʺSee it for each faith!ʺ
9:	ʾi da napíšete na knígu	ʺAnd write it in a book!ʺ
10:	ʾi da mì doneséte pismó to	And bring me the writing!ʺ
11:	ʾi azь da vídimь kóʾja e véra nʾáĭ čísta ʾi náĭ xubava	ʺAnd may I see, which is the purest and most beautiful faith!ʺ
12:	ʾi ʾjá, da búdemь na taʾjá vera	ʺMay I will be of that faith too!ʺ
13:	takóĭ sáka moè srdce	ʺThus my heart wills.ʺ
14:	takóĭ réče cr̃ь	Thus the king said.
15:	ʾi ʾōtidóxu ʾwnïę nastóĭnïci	And those retainers went out.
16:	ʾi xódíxu po svì grádove ʾi po svì, cr͒ki dvoróve	And they went around all the cities and all the royal palaces.
17:	ʾi koju véru kakvò vidóxu takóĭ na knígu zapisáxu	And what they saw (about) which faith, thus they wrote to the book.
18:	ʾi ʾōtidóxu u tursku zémlju, prez móre u anadólь	And they went to the Turkish land through the sea, to Anatolia.
19:	ʾi tamo vidóxu kakvo drьžútь tur͛ci véru	And there they saw, how Turks uphold their faith.
20:	često sè mijutь	They wash often.
21:	ʾi čésto se klánjat	And they bow down often.
22:	ʾi edutь méso govéždo ʾi ʾwvče	And they eat beef and lamb.
23:	ʾi ne drьžútь níkógi ní srédu ní pétokь	And they hold no (fasting on?) Wednesday and Friday.
24:	ʾi vidóxu ʾi tur͛sku čistotu kakvò drьžútь tur͛ci	And they saw the Turkish purity, which the Turks uphold.
25:	ʾi tova zapisáxu na knígu	And they wrote that to the book.
26:	ʾw´bidoxu po svude	And they went all around.
27:	ʾi vidóxu koʾjá véra kakvò drьžì	And they saw, what which faith holds.
28:	ʾi svè zapisáxu,	And they wrote all down.
29:	náĭ pósle ʾwtidóxu u cr͂igrad prí cr̃a kostán͛dina	Finally, they came to Tsarigrad, to Emperor Constantine,
	ʾi támo da vídutь cr̃ь kostan͛dinь kakvá véra deržítь	to see, what faith does Emperor Constantine hold,
	ʾi kakvà čistotà ʾimatь ʾí kakvò ʾjádene ʾédutь	and what purity they have, and what do they eat.
30:	ʾi vidé gi, cr̃ь kostan͛dínь	And Emperor Constantine saw them.
31:	ʾi pità svoĭ slúgi	And he asked his servants.
32:	ʾi réče	And he said:
33:	tʾiʾjá čl̃véci wt kudu ʾesu	ʺThose people, where are they from?ʺ
34:	ʾi ʾwni rékoxu	And they said:
35:	cr̃u čestíti tïa čl̃véci sutь nastóĭnici moskóvьskómu cr̃u pétrovi	ʺO honorable Emperor, those people are retainers of Peter, King of Muscovy.ʺ
36:	ʾi prízvá gi cr̃ь	And the emperor invited them.
37:	ʾi pitá gi	And he asked them.
38:	ī réče	And he said:
39:	víè pošto rádi doidóx͛te do túva	ʺWhy did you come here?ʺ
40:	kažéte mi právo	ʺTell me the truth!ʺ
41:	ʾi ʾwni rékoxu	And they said:
42:	ti dá si žívь cr̃u	ʺMay you live (well), o Emperor!ʺ
43:	nïę dóĭdox͛me do tvóju rúku ʾi da vídimo kakvà véra víe verúvate	ʺWe came to your hands, to see, what faith you follow,ʺ
	ʾi kakva čistóta vïe drьžíte ʾi kakvò ʾjádene víe ʾedéte	ʺand to see, what purity do you uphold, and what food do you eat,ʺ
	ʾi nïe da vídimo ʾi nïe da ver͛vamo	ʺso that we would see and believe too,ʺ
	ʾi nïe takòvo da ʾedémo	ʺand so that we would eat thus,ʺ
	ʾi da búdemo ʾi nïe cr̃u rabì tvóĭ,	ʺand so we, too, will become your servants, o Emperor!ʺ
44:	ʾi kato ču cr̃ь takvíva mir͛ni dúmi wt tïę čl͂véci ʾá ʾwnь réčé na svòĭ nastóinici	And when the emperor heard such peaceful words from those men, he said to his servants:
45:	skóro doneséte na tïę pútnici po ʾedínь kátь rúba	ʺBring soon for each of those (?) travellers a dress!ʺ
46:	ʾi donésoxa rúba	And they brought the dress.
47:	ʾi premeníxu gi xúbavo ʾi čt͒no kakvóto e cr̃u prilično	And they clothed them nicely and honorably, as it is appropriate for an emperor.
48:	ʾi gostíxu gi dostòlépno	And they fed them wonderfully.
49:	ʾi napoĭxu gi	And they gave them drinks.
50:	ʾi ʾjádoxu wt, svékakvì ʾjástia različnïa cr̃ьskì	And they ate from various royal dishes.
51:	ʾi dobrè ʾwbiknáxu	And they like it well (?)
52:	kogí bi u, jutro stánu cr̃ь kostan͛dinь ráno	When the morning came, Emperor Constantine woke up early.
53:	ʾi prizvá svóĭ patiar͛si ʾi svoi vldci ʾi popóve ʾi klírici ʾi pevcì	And he summoned his patriarchs, and his bishops, and priests, and clerics, and singers.
54:	ʾi ōtídóxu vь velíkoju cr͂kvu, cr͂skoju	And they went to the great royal church.
55:	ʾi počexu dá drьžútь st̃uju líturgíju	And they began to hold the holy liturgy.
56:	kogì réče pópь blágoslovéno cr͒tvo	When the priest said: ʺBlessed (be) the kingdom!ʺ
	cr̃ь pade, sasь licè svoè na zemlì	the emperor fell with his face to the ground.
57:	ʾi pokloní se	And he bowed.
58:	ʾi réče	And he said:
59:	gd͒i sp͒í ljudïe tvóĭ	ʺO Lord, save your people!ʺ
60:	ʾi bl͒glovì dostoʾjánïe tvoe	ʺAnd bless your inheritance!ʺ
61:	ʾí stánu cr̃ь wt zémli	And the emperor stood up from the ground.
62:	ʾi séde na zlátenь prestólь svóĭ	And he sat on his golden throne.
63:	ʾi po málo vréme doĭde rédь da celujutь, čt͒nïe ʾi st̃ie ʾikóni	And after a short time the time came to kiss honorable and holy icons.
64:	prïide cr̃ь ʾi patríar͛xь	The emperor and the patriarch came.
65:	ʾi celováxu čt͒nïe ʾi st̃ie ʾikoni	And they kissed honorable and holy icons.
66:	po cr̃a ʾi patriarxa prïidóša vldci	After the king and patriarch, the bishops came.
67:	ʾi svì bolʾjáre cr̃evi celováxu st̃íe ʾikoní	And all the boyars of the emperor kissed the holy icons.
68:	takóĭ ʾi svi xr͒tiʾani prïidóxu	Thus, also all the Christians came.
69:	ʾi celováxu st̃ie ʾikóni	And they kissed the holy icons.
70:	ʾá ʾw´niʾjá pev͛ci cr̃evi kogì zapéxu glásь trì st̃imь pésnь člóvéku umь zanósexu	And those singers, when they sang the song (in?) Tone Three (?) for the saints, they were carrying away (?) the minds of men.
71:	takói umiléno peéxu glásь káto nékoĭ ag̃géli bž̃ïi	They sung the Tone nicely as some angels of God.
72:	ʾá ʾwnïę nastóinïci cr̃ь petrovi stóexu u cr͂kvu na trónove	And those retainers of King Peter sat (lit. stood) on the thrones in the church.
73:	ʾi katò vidóxu u cr͂kvu tolíko xubóstь ʾi vidóxu tolíko pésnь ʾi tolíko sláva što è ʾimalo ʾu xrístian͛sku véru počudíxu se	And when they saw so much beauty and saw so much singing and glory, which is in Christian faith, they were amazed.
74:	i u-divíxu se	And they were astonished.
75:	ʾi sve što vidóxu támw´ zapisáxu na knígu	And all, what they saw, they wrote down into the book.
76:	ʾi ōtidóxu si u moskovïju	And they went forth to Muscovy.
77:	ʾi zanésoxu cr̃u pismó to	And they brought the writing to the king.
78:	ʾi dádoxa mú go	And they gave it to him.
79:	ʾi cr̃ь petrь prízva svóĭ čet͛ci ʾi knížnici	And King Peter summoned his readers and librarians.
80:	ʾi próčétoxu ʾwnovà pisanïe što béxu napisáli ʾwnía nastóinici kadé što béxu videli po cr͒ki te véri	And they read that writing, which was written by those retainers, what (and) where they saw in royal faiths.
81:	své ʾiskazáxu cr̃u petru po rédu za sví te cr͂ïe ʾi za sví te véri	And they told to King Peter everything duly about all the kings and all the faiths,
	koi kakvò drьžì čistotù ʾi koʾi kakvó ʾjádene ʾede	who and how upholds purity, and who what kind of food eats.
82:	nʾai pósle pročétoxu ʾi cr̃ь kostán͛dinovo deʾjá-nïe	Finally, they read also about the deeds of Emperor Constantine,
	kakvò cr̃ь kostan͛dinь drьží véru xúbavu	that Emperor Constantine has a beautiful faith,
	ʾi drьžì čistu svojù dš̃u	and (that) he holds his soul pure,
	ʾi sámь sásь svoè licè na zemlì páda vo vréme	and he himself falls with his face on the ground, in the time,
	kogì rečè pópь bl͂goslovéno cr͒tvo	when the priest says: ʺBlessed (be) the kingdom!ʺ
83:	takòĭ právo ʾispravíxu nastóinici cr̃ь pétrovi cr̃u pétru buru	Thus well the retainers of King Peter explained (it) to King Peter-Buro.
84:	ʾi samь cr̃ь pétrь takói réče	And King Peter himself spoke thus:
85:	čúite	ʺListen!ʺ
86:	ʾi razuméĭte	ʺAnd understand!ʺ
87:	zaštò né ma ni ʾedna véra po čísta ʾi po xúbava wt xr͒tiʾanьsku véru na tója st̃ь	ʺFor there is no faith more pure and more beautiful than the Christian faith in this world!ʺ
88:	takoĭ ʾi svi cr͂evi ugódnici rékoxu	Thus also all the king's favorites spoke:
89:	vo ʾistinu né ĭmat ní ednà véra po čista ʾi po xúbava wt xr͒tian͛sku véru. na toʾjá st̃ь	ʺTruly, there is no faith more pure and more beautiful than the Christian faith in this world!ʺ
90:	togíva réče cr̃ь petrь moskov͛ski	Then Peter, King of Muscovy, said:
91:	skóro ʾidéte u cárigrádь da dóĭde cr̃ь kostan͛dïnь	ʺGo soon to Tsarigrad, so that Emperor Constantine comes,ʺ
	da mè pokr͒ti da búdemь ʾi ʾjá nému brátь	ʺso that he would baptize me, so that I, too, will be his brother!ʺ
92:	ʾi ʾōtídoxu slúgi cr̃ь pétrovi	And the servants of King Peter went.
93:	ʾi rékoxu	And they said:
94:	cr̃u kostan͛díne dá ĭdešь vь nášь grádь mos͛kovíju	ʺO Emperor Constantine, may you go to our city of Muscovy,ʺ
	da pokr͒tišь cr̃a nášego petra da búde tébe brátь	ʺso that you baptize our king Peter, so that he will be your brother!ʺ
95:	ʾá cárь kostan͛dinь réče	But Emperor Constantine said:
96:	ʾjá ne móžemь dá ʾidemь da pokr͒timь cr͂a vášegw u zémlju vášu	ʺI cannot go to your land to baptize your king!ʺ
97:	no ʾáko mu trébue da dóĭde u móĭ grádь da gò pokrь´stimь dx͂ómь st̃ímь	ʺBut if he needs, let him come to my city, so that I baptize him by Holy Spirit.ʺ
98:	ʾi ne ʾōtíde	And he did not go.
99:	ʾi vidóxu slúgi cr̃ь pétrovi	And the servants of King Peter saw (it clear):
100:	ne šteʾjá cr̃ь kostan͛dinь da ĭde, u gráda móskov͛skago da pokrь´sti búru cr̃a moskóv͛skago	Emperor Constantine did not want to go to the city of Muscovy to baptize Buro, King of Muscovy.
101:	ʾw-tidóxu	They went.
102:	ʾi kazáxu cr̃u pétru	And they told King Peter.
103:	ʾi ʾwnь póžali	And he was sad.
104:	ʾi réče	And he said:
105:	skóro dá ĭdeté ʾi vtóri pútь	ʺGo soon for the second time!ʺ
106:	ʾi rečéte cr̃u kostán͛dinu da dóide dá mé pw´krь´sti	ʺAnd tell Emperor Constantine to come to baptize me!ʺ
107:	če ʾako ne dóide ʾi vtorì pútь da mé pokr͒tì da se ne náda na dobrò	ʺFor if he does not come the second time to baptize me, he should not expect any good.ʺ
108:	pósle ʾjá xóštemь dígnúti svì móĭ bolʾjáre ʾi svi móĭ knézove ʾi svu mojù vóĭsku na négo	ʺThen I will raise all my boyars, and all my princes, and all my troops against him.ʺ
109:	ʾi porazí štem mu svu deržávu	ʺAnd I shall crush all of his country!ʺ
110:	ʾi ʾōtidóxu cr̃ь pétrovi slugí	And the servants of King Peter went:
111:	ʾi rékoxu	And they said:
112:	cr̃u kostan͛dine poʾidì ʾu moskovíju u nášь grádь,	ʺO Emperor Constantine, go to our city of Muscovy,ʺ
	da pokr͒tišь cr̃a nášego buru	ʺto baptize our King Buro!ʺ
113:	ʾi páki ne ʾōtidé cr̃ь kostan͛dinь da pokr͒ti cr̃a búru	And again, Emperor Constantine did not go to baptize King Buro.
114:	ʾi ʾōtidóxu	And they went away.
115:	ʾi kazáxu cr̃u če ne šte da dóĭde cr̃ь kostan͛dinь, da pokr͒ti cr̃a buru moskóvьskagò	And they said to the king, that Emperor Constantine will not come to baptize King Buro of Muscovy.
116:	togíva se zlé rasrь´di, cr̃ь búro moskóvski	Then King Buro of Muscovy became very angry.
117:	ʾi réče	And he said:
118:	skóro voĭska da sè zbéré	ʺMay the army is assembled soon.ʺ
119:	da porázimь svu drьžávu kostan͛dinovu	ʺLet me crush all the Constantine's realm!ʺ
120:	ʾi da mu, uʾzmemь séla ʾi grádove	ʺAnd let me take his villages and cities!ʺ
121:	ʾi da mu pogúbimь svì bolʾjáre ʾi knézove	ʺAnd let me kill his boyars and princes!ʺ
122:	ʾi da mù ne ʾwstávimь ni ʾedínь, náčal͛nikь u negóvo cr͒tvo	ʺAnd let me leave not a single commander in his kingdom!ʺ
123:	ʾi svo voʾin͛stvo negóvo da potópimь,	ʺAnd let me drown all of his forces!ʺ
124:	nàĭ pósle ʾi nego dá posečémь	ʺFinally, let me kill him too!ʺ
125:	ʾi ženù negóvu dʾa uzʾmemь ʾjá da bude moʾjá	ʺAnd let me take his wife, so that she will be mine!ʺ
126:	takò wtgovóri cr̃ь buro moskóv͛ski	Thus answered King Buro of Muscovy.
127:	ʾi zbrá se vóĭska, bézьčíslena	And a countless army assembled.
128:	ní bróĭ ʾimaše kolíko miliʾwne béxu se zbráli dá ĭdutь na cr̃a kon͛stan͛dina	There was no count of millions, who assembled to go against Emperor Constantine.
129:	ʾi dóĭde xabárь cr̃u kostán͛dinu čé ĭde voĭska sílna na négo	And the news came to Emperor Constantine, that a strong army is going against him.
130:	ʾi wnь sámь vidè če né ma xáĭrь wt négo	And he himself saw, that he does not have fortune against (lit. from?) him.
131:	ʾi reče	And he said:
132:	skóro men͛zilь da ĭde da nósi knïgu poslánicu wt cr͂a kostan͛dína	ʺMay a messenger goes quickly, to bring a written message from Emperor Constantine:ʺ
133:	da sè vrь´ne vòĭska nazátь,	ʺMay the army returns back.ʺ
134:	ʾi da me ne posrámi cr̃ь búro	ʺAnd may King Buro does not put me to shame.ʺ
135:	ʾi ʾjá xóštemь dáti sestrù mojù, nému za ženù	ʺAnd I will give him my sister for a wife.ʺ
136:	ʾi takò ʾwprostí go cr̃ь búro	And thus King Buro forgave him.
137:	ʾi ʾuze mu mílu sestru za žénu sébe	And he took his beloved sister for a wife for himself.
138:	ʾá kolíko tópove béše prígotvílь	But how many guns he had prepared!
139:	ni bròĭ ʾimaše	There was no count (of it)!
140:	ʾi sve póvrьnu nazátь wt kakvó se predáde ʾemu cr̃ь kostán͛dínь	And he returned all back, as Emperor Constantine gave himself over.
141:	ʾi kogʾí se prímiríxu cr̃ïe po nékolko vréme dígnu se wt mesto cr̃ь kostán͛dinь	And when the kings made peace, after some time Emperor Constantine rose up from (his) city.
142:	ʾi poĭde, dă ĭde u moskovíju da pokr͒ti cr̃a búru	And he went (lit. to go) to Muscovy to baptize King Buro.
143:	ʾi povéde po sébe patrìar͛si ʾi vldci ʾi popóve ʾi klírici ʾi pev͛ci	And he took with him patriarchs, and bishops, and priests, and clerics, and singers.
144:	ʾi ʾōtidè cr̃u búru u dvoróve	And he went to the palaces of King Buro.
145:	ʾi kon͛disáxu támo	And they made a camp there.
146:	ʾi vidé gi cr̃ь búro	And King Buro saw them.
147:	ʾi zaradvà ĭm se ʾjáko	And he rejoiced a lot about them.
148:	ʾi privéde gi, na dómь svóĭ	And he brought them to his house.
149:	ʾi počéte gi	And he paid them respect.
150:	gostì gi	He gave them a feast.
151:	ʾi napóĭ gi dóstolepno kak͛voto e cr̃u prílično	And he gave them drinks, as it is appropriate for a king.
152:	ʾi popitá gi	And he asked them.
153:	ʾi réče	And he said:
154:	móžem li ʾi ʾjá da prïĭdemь na vášu véru ʾi da búdemь brátь vášь	ʺIs it possible for me too, to receive (lit. come to) your faith, and to become your brother?ʺ
155:	ʾi cr̃ь kostándínь produ-ʾma	And Emperor Constantine spoke.
156:	ʾi réče	And he said:
157:	búdi volja tvoʾjá, cr̃u	ʺYour will be done, o king!ʺ
158:	da tè pokr͒timь	ʺLet me baptize you!ʺ
159:	no né ĭmeešь cr̃u st̃uju cr͂kvu	ʺBut you have no holy church, o king.ʺ
160:	ʾi ne ʾimeešь čьstnïe ʾikóni	ʺAnd you have no honorable icons.ʺ
161:	ʾi ne e prílïčno námь cr̃omь da se kr͒time, bézь cr̃kvu ʾi bézь čьstnïe st̃íe ʾikóni	ʺAnd it is not appropriate for us, kings, to get baptized without a church and without honorable, holy icons.ʺ
162:	togíva pitá cr̃ь búro cr̃a kostán͛dína	Then King Buro of Muscovy asked Emperor Constantine:
163:	što è tovà crь´kva	ʺWhat is that (thing, which you call) a church?ʺ
164:	ʾi za kakvó se naríča, cr̃kva	ʺAnd why is it called a church?ʺ
165:	ʾi za kojú e potrébu tovà što go, víe zovéte cr̃kva	ʺAnd for which purpose is that, what you call a church?ʺ
166:	ʾá cr̃ь kostán͛dínь réče	And Emperor Constantine said:
167:	ʾw cr̃u bráte móĭ to-va što sè zové cr̃kva ʾwnà pro-svétva čl͂véci	ʺO king, my brother, that, what is called a church, it enlightens people.ʺ
168:	cr̃kva provódi člóvéci ʾu rái bž͂ïi	ʺA church brings people to the Paradise of God.ʺ
169:	cr͂kva vьvw´di čl̃véci u cr͒tvo nb͒noe	ʺA church brings people to the Kingdom of Heaven.ʺ
170:	cr͂kva se zóve dómь bž̃ïĭ	ʺA church is called a house of God.ʺ
171:	takó reče cr̃ь kostan͛dínь cr͂u moskóvskomu	Thus spoke Emperor Constantine to the king of Muscovy.
172:	ī toʾjá čásь réče cr̃ь búro	And in that moment King Buro said:
173:	skóro cr͂kvu da mì naprávite	ʺMay you make me a church soon!ʺ
174:	ʾi dóĭdóxu máĭstori	And builders came.
175:	ʾi zagrádíxu crь´kvu źélw velíka	And they built a very large church.
176:	ʾi podpisáxa ju sásь st̃ie ʾwbrázi	And they painted (?) it with holy pictures.
177:	ʾi sovrьšíxa ju xúbavo lépo ʾi čьstnò	And they finished it nicely, well, and honorably.
178:	ʾi vlézoxu u cr͂kvu ʾwba cr̃a	And the both kings entered the church,
	ʾi patríar͛si ʾi vladíci ʾi popóve ʾi klírici i pevci	and (with them) the patriarchs, and bishops, and priests, and clerics, and singers.
179:	ʾi počéxu da čétut st̃oe právïlo da ʾwsvétutь cr̃kvu	And they began to read the liturgy, so that they consecrate the church.
180:	ʾi ʾost̃íxa ju	And they consecrated it.
181:	ʾi dóĭde rédь ʾi čásь da drьžútь svétuju lítur͛gíju	And the turn and time came to hold the holy liturgy.
182:	ʾi réče patria͛rxь bl͂goslovéno cr͒tvo	And the patriarch said: ʺBlessed (be) the kingdom!ʺ
183:	ʾi pokloníxu se ʾwba cr̃a sásь licè dó zemi	And the both kings bowed with faces to the ground.
184:	ʾtakò ʾi sví čl̃véci pokloníxu se do zemlì,	And thus all the people bowed to the ground.
185:	ʾi kogí zapéxu pev͛ci glásь ʾumiléni čl͂veku ʾi ʾumь zanósexu	And when the singers sang the loving tone, even the man's mind was carried way.
186:	takw´ lépo cr̃u peʾexu glásь	So beautifully they sang the tone to the king.
187:	ʾi cr̃ь búro wt ml͒tь víknu sásь golémь glásь kolíko móže	And King Buro exclaimed from mercy with a strong voice, as much as he could.
188:	ʾi réče	And he said:

191:	ʾi pokrь´stíxu cr̃a búru sas vódu dx͂omь svétímь	And they baptized King Buro with water (and) with Holy Spirit.
192:	ʾi príčestíxa go	And they gave him Eucharist.
193:	ʾi dádoxa mu náfora	And they gave him the host.
194:	ʾi kato mù béše ʾime cr̃ь búro	And, as his name was King Buro,
	pósle kogí go pokr͒tíxu wnī mu narékoxu ʾime cr̃ь pétrь, moskóvski	afterwards, when they baptized him, they gave him the name King Peter of Muscovy.
195:	ʾi kogì ʾizéde nafora ta ʾá w´nь páde ná zemi	And when he ate the host, he fell on the ground.
196:	ʾi kato čè ʾwslepè	And it seemed he became blind.
197:	ʾi puknáxu ʾemu ʾi dvé te ʾóčí	And both of his eyes broke up.
198:	ʾi ʾuplaši se	And he became afraid.
199:	ʾi réče	And he said:
200:	ʾw ml͒tívi, bž̃e dobré si ʾjá cr͒tvúvaxь po mojù véru	ʺO merciful God, I ruled well in my faith!ʺ
201:	da ne béx͛ se pokr͒tílь ne štéxь ʾw´slepéti sásь dvé te móĭ ʾóči	ʺIf I would have not got baptized, I would not have become blind with both of my eyes.ʺ
202:	toko tovà ʾizréče	He just said that,
203:	i toʾjá čásь ʾispádnu ʾému ʾizь ʾóčí te mréža	and in that moment a network fell from his eyes,
	katò cípa lúkova	like a shell from an onion.
204:	ʾi prógledà	And he started to see (again).
205:	togíva ʾemu prosïę st̃ь	Then the light shone him through.
206:	togíva vidè sl͂n͛ce ʾi mesecь	Then he saw the sun and the moon.
207:	togíva vidè ʾjásni ʾi svetlívi zvézdi	Then he saw the clear and shiny stars.
208:	togíva mu se wtvrь´záxu ʾóčí	Then his eyes were unbound.
209:	ʾi vide plánini ʾi góri ʾi xol͛mi ʾi vsʾjá predéli zémli	Then he saw the mountains and hills and barrows, and all the borders of the Earth.
210:	ʾi réče	And he said:
211:	se prïʾidoxь na véru	ʺBehold, I came to faith.ʺ
212:	ʾi kr͒tíx se sa͒ vódu	ʺAnd I was baptized by water.ʺ
213:	ʾi vidóxь st̃ь ʾistini	ʺAnd I saw the real world.ʺ
214:	táko da pokr͒tímь ʾi vésь ródь čl͂véčeski	ʺThus, let me baptize the whole mankind!ʺ
215:	ʾi povelé cr̃ь pétrь cr̃u kostandínu ʾi patríar͛xu	And he commanded Emperor Constantine and the patriarch.
216:	ʾi prosvetíxu vodu	And they consecrated water.
217:	ʾi sьbra se sьvь naródь što béšé u cr͂ь pétrovu drь´žávu	And all the people, who were in the kingdom of King Peter, assembled.
218:	ʾi uze patríʾárxь čášu srébrenu	And the patriarch took a silver cup.
219:	ʾi sipúvaše ʾwnuju st̃uju vódu svékomu čl̃veku, na glávu	And he was pouring that holy water on everyone's head.
220:	ʾi táko pokr͒tíxu se mosьkale	And thus the Muscovites were baptized.
221:	ʾi táko vósprijaša vserodnoe kr͂štenïe vь léto *cni*	And thus they received the all-national baptism in the year 958.
222:	ʾi táko pogodíša se cr̃ïe	And thus the kings made peace.
223:	ʾi tako smíríša se	And thus they reconciled.
224:	ʾi takò sébe postavíša brátu brat͛stvo ̉	And thus they made a brotherhood (to be to each other as) brother.

	ʾi svè ʾedínь rod ʾi edínь kr͒tь ʾi ʾednà véra	and all to be of one kin, and one baptism, and one faith,
	ʾi edínь póstь ʾi edínь gd͒ь īıs͂sь xr͒tósь Vo slávu bž͂iju	and one fasting, and one Lord Jesus Christ, in the glory of God.
228:	ʾi znáĭte ʾi razuméite kakò ne móžetь ni ʾédínь cr̃ь ʾili králь da pobédi ʾi da nadvíe, cr̃u moskóvskomu	And do know and understand, that no king or emperor can defeat the king of Muscovy.
229:	ʾi sví te véri, bojút se wt moskála	And all the faiths fear the Muscovite.
230:	zaštò moskóvь ʾimat síla sásь čt͒nì kr͒tь gd͒nь	Because Moscow has the power of (lit. with) the True Cross of the Lord.
231:	tógo rádi pobédva ʾi nadvíva na sví te véri	That is why it is defeating all the faiths.
232:	zaštò ʾi sámь gd͒ь bg̃ь táko réče	Because even the Lord God Himself thus said,
	da ĭmatь moskále, sʾila wt savíše	so that Muscovites have the power from above,
	ʾi da pokóratь svi te véri ʾi ezičníci pódь svojù vla͒(st)	and so that they defeat all the faiths and heathens under their rule.
233:	zašto moskále zagradíxu cr͂kv(...) mónastíri	Because Muscovites built churches (and) monasteries.
234:	ʾi mólatь bg̃a (nepre)stáno	And they pray to God ceaselessly.
235:	zatò ʾimь bg̃ь pomága	That is why God helps them.
236:	takó ʾi za násь mólatь bg̃a moskále	Thus also the Muscovites pray God for us.
237:	ʾi táko govwrutь	And they speak thus:
238:	gd͒i usliši molénïe náše	O Lord, hear our prayers!
239:	ʾi izbavì ródь nášь gd͒i ʾizbavì ʾiz ruki suprotívnikomь nášimь ʾágarʾjánomь prokletimь	And save our kin, o Lord, from the hands of our enemy, the accursed Hagarenes!
240:	zavrьzáni da butь dó veka	May they will be bound forever!
