10: i povelelъ imъ da četutъ po slavenъski ezikъ i da drъžutъ pravoslavnuju veru And he commanded them to read in Slavic language and uphold the Orthodox faith.
11: tako ot toi vreme vlasi obratili se na pravoslavie i četali po slavenski Thus, from that time, Wallachians converted to Orthodoxy and read in Slavic.

23: i prešъlъ dunavъ u vlaxiju sasъ sva ta si voiska And he crossed Danube to Wallachia with all of his troops.
24: i sъbralъ tamo voiska mlogo And he collected a lot of troops there.
25: i paki prešlъ dunovъ And he crossed Danube again.
26: i obratil se na grъci And he turned against Greeks.
27: i bilo branъ strašno And there was a terrible battle.
28: voiska bez čislo grъčeskaja i blъgarъskaja A countless army of Greeks and Bulgars!

62: paki vtori putъ crъ aleѯia sъbralъ mnogo voiska Again, for the second time, Emperor Alexius took a lot of troops.
63: i pratilъ na jasena straxota silъna i velika i konstanъdinъ i načalъnici And he sent against Asen a great and powerful terror (?), and Constantine and (his) generals (?)
64: mnogo voiska bila i generali grъčeskia i voevodi i knezove i župъne There were a lot of troops, and Greek generals, and commanders, and princes, and zhupans.
65: i bila voiska *#so* xiliadi And the army was (of) 270 thousand (men).
66: no popušteniemъ bžiemъ pobili gi blъgari But, by the will of God, Bulgars defeated them.
67: i porobili And they subdued (them).
68: i ne povrъnul se ni edinъ načalnikъ pri cra aleѯiju And not a single commander returned to Emperor Alexius.

70: kogi ču crъ aleѯi toliko se izbila voiska When Emperor Alexius heard, how many troops were destroyed,

84: tako imъ otmъstil samъ crъ cremъ grъčeskimъ vъ to vreme Thus, in that time, made the emperor his revenge against Greek emperors.
85: zašto oni isprъvo mnogo pakostъ činili blъgaromъ Because they first did a lot of evil to Bulgars.

97: i tako prestali grъci i blъgare boi da ne bijutъ And thus Greeks and Bulgars stopped the fight, so that they won't fight (again?)
98: pokorilъ gi jasenъ podъ svoju vlastъ Asen subdued them under his might.
99: i tako se proslavilъ na zemli And thus he became famous on the Earth.
100: zašto mnogo kralove i crove pokorilъ Because he subdued many kings and emperors.
101: zato se nareklъ crъ vъselenъski Thus he was called an Emperor of the Universe.
102: zašto imalъ sebe kesari rimъskie danici Because he had Roman caesars as his taxpayers.
103: i drugi mnogo kralove pokorilъ jasenъ podъ svoju vlastъ And Asen subdued many other kings under his might.
