2:	Испрь́ва ѿ кꙋдꙋ произишлѝ	First (let us tell), where they came from.
3:	поне́же прилꙋчи́ се нáмь мно́го крáть прочитáти разли́чнїи ҆исторїй рꙋкопи́сни ҆и печáтни	Because it happened to us to read many times various histories, (both) handwritten and printed,
	что иззвади́ли рꙋс҆ꙗ́ ҆и москов͛ци ҆ѡсобно ради славен͛скаго ҆ꙗ́зи́ка ҆и наро́да	which the Russians and Muscovites selected particularly concerning the Slavic language and nation.
4:	ѿ кꙋдꙋ пове́ли своѐ пле́ме	From where they led their tribe from?
5:	҆и на после́докь како се ѿдели́ли ѿ нихь бль́гаре	And finally, how the Bulgars separated from them,
	҆и при́шли́	and (how they) came,
	҆и васели́ли се ва землю сїю бол͛гар͛скою,	and (how they) settled in this land of Bulgaria.
6:	чтѝ чи̇тáтелю	Read, o reader!
7:	҆и разꙋме́й,	And understand!
8:	[поими сїе ѡ но́е]	[sidenote] Take this about Noah!
9:	Коги пото́пи бг҃ь при ною весь род чл҃вечески	When God drowned all the human kind during the time of Noah,
	тькмо бехꙋ ҆ѡстáли, ѿ пото́па ҆ѡсмь дш҃и но҆ꙗ́ ҆и три синове него́ви си́мь ҆и хáмь ҆и ҆афе́ть	only eight souls remained: Noah, and his three sons - Shem, Ham and Japheth,
	҆и четири женѝ ни́х͛ни	and their four wives.
10:	видѐ но҆ꙗ защо̀ поги́бе на земли свь́ ро́дь чл҃ве́чески	Noah saw, that the whole human kind on the Earth perished.
11:	҆и проразꙋме защо̀ ѿ него́во се́ме ҆и рода хо́щеть бг҃ь напльни́ти зе́млю	And he understood, that God will fill the Earth from his seed and kin.
12:	҆и зарадвáл се, бе́ше ҆ꙗ́ко защо̀ хо́шеть ҆ѡстáти слáвна пáметь ҆его нá земли до́ века,	And he rejoiced much, for his glorious memory will remain on Earth forever.
13:	Призвáль три си́нове сво́й си́ма хáма ҆и ҆афета	He called his three sons - Shem, Ham and Japheth.
14:	҆и раздели́ль ҆имь на трѝ де́лове свꙋ зе́млю	And he divided all the Earth in three parts,
	да знáють, ко́й каде щѐ да дрьжѝ	so that they know, who will hold where (which land),
	коги се ꙋмножꙋть ни́х͛ни си́нове ҆и ꙋнꙋци на земли	when their sons and grandsons multiply on Earth,
	҆и ѡни да знáють ко́й на ко҆ꙗ́ стрáна да се нáсе́ли	and so that they know, who where will settle.
15:	си́мꙋ прьвомꙋ си́нꙋ, свое́мꙋ заповедà да се насе́ли с него́во пле́ме на прьвїꙗ дель ва зе́млю ҆áзи́ю	He commanded his first son, Shem, to settle with his tribe to the first part, to the land of Asia.
16:	то беше восточна зем͛лꙗ	That was the eastern land.
17:	на не҆ꙗ́ сто́йть р҆áй ҆и еде́мь ҆и ерꙋсалим	On it are located the Paradise, and Eden, and Jerusalem.
18:	҆и дрьжи до спроти цр҃игрáдь .:.	And it stretches (?) up to Tsarigrad.
19:	хамꙋ второмꙋ синꙋ заповедà да се́ насе́ли на ҆áври́ка	To Ham, the second son, he commanded to settle in Africa.
20:	то е ҆ю́жна стрáна земли	That is the southern part of Earth.
21:	на не҆ꙗ́ сто́йть ҆еги́петь ҆и френ͛ски́ наро́дь,	On it are located Egypt and the French (?) nation.
22:	҆и афе́тꙋ третомꙋ си́нꙋ своемꙋ заповедà да се насе́ли на евро́на	And to Japheth, the third son, he commanded to settle in Europe.
23:	то е зáпадна ҆и полꙋ́нощна зем͛лꙗ	That is the western and the northern land.
24:	на не҆ꙗ́ сто́йть бечь ри́мь бран͛дибꙋр ҆и весь славен͛ски наро́дь	There is located Vienna, Brandenburg, and all the Slavic nation.
25:	тако заповеда но҆ꙗ́ на си́нове сво́й	Thus Noah commanded to his sons.
26:	҆и разделѝ ҆имь на трѝ де́лове зе́млю	And (thus) he divided the Earth to three parts.
27:	҆и ҆ѡставѝ ҆имь заповедь креп͛кꙋ да не бѝ престꙋпили заповедь ҆с́инове ҆е́го	And he left them a strong command, so that his sons would not transgress the command.
28:	когѝ пре҆идоша ѿ пото́па ·фкѳ· ле́та тогива се ꙋмно́жихꙋ си́нове ҆и ꙋнꙋци си́-мови ҆и хамови ҆и афе́тови	When 529 years from the Flood passed, then the sons and grandsons of Shem, Ham and Japheth became many.
29:	҆и дꙋмали сꙋ сви́ те ҆е́динь ҆ꙗ́зи́кь	And they all spoke one language.
30:	҆и станꙋль, ҆е́ди́нь чл҃ве́кь ҆име мꙋ било невроть, ѿ пле́мене хáмово	And a man, his name was Nimrod, emerged in (lit. from) the tribe of Ham.
31:	҆и ѡнь би́ль мꙋ-дрь звездоче́тець	And he was a wise astrologer.
32:	҆и нáй силень би́ль ва ҆ѡнова вре́ме ѿ свѝ чл҃ве́ци на землѝ	And he was the strongest man among all the people on Earth at the time.
33:	҆о́нь би́ль прь́ви мч҃итель на земли	He was the first tyrant on the Earth.
34:	҆ѡнь заградил вавило́нь грáдь	He built the city of Babylon.
35:	҆и цр҃ьствꙋвáль ва не́го	And he ruled there as a king.
36:	҆ѡнь поче́ль да прáви сребро̀ ҆и злато на парѝ ҆и на гроше́ве	He began to process silver and gold into (golden and silver) coins.
37:	҆ѡнь поче́ль во́йскꙋ да ди́га	He began to raise armies.
38:	҆ѡнь почел зло̀ нá земли твори́ти	He began to do evil on the Earth.
39:	то́й бг҃опроти́вень невро́ть призовáль чл҃ве́ци, що би́ли нá земли	That God-resisting Nimrod invited men, who were on the Earth.
40:	҆и рекль ҆имь	And he said to them:
41:	да загр҆áдїме се́бе стль́пь на зе́мли	ʺLet us build a pillar (tower) on the Earth!ʺ
42:	да ѐ висо́кь до нб҃са	ʺMay it be high up to the heavens!ʺ
43:	҆áко бꙋ́де пáки пото́пь ҆или ҆о́гнь на зе́мли	ʺIf there will be flood or fire again on Earth,ʺ
	да не мо́жеть бг҃ь да нѝ погꙋ́бить	ʺso that God will not be able to destroy us,ʺ
	кáто какво̀ погꙋбѝ прьви чл҃веци нá земли	ʺas He destroyed the first men on the Earth.ʺ
44:	тако́й мисли́ль, бг҃опроти́вни невро́ть	Thus thought the God-resisting Nimrod.
45:	҆и послꙋшáли го свѝ чл҃ве́ци	And all the people obeyed him.
46:	҆и загради́ли стль́пь	And they built the tower.
47:	҆и трꙋ-ди́ли се, за, ·м· ле́та	And they worked hard for 40 years.
48:	҆и зазидáли го висо́ко до ҆ѡблаци,	And they built it high, up to the heavens.
49:	҆едни падáли ѿ си́лень ветрь	Some were falling because of the strong wind.
50:	҆и прибивали́ се	And they were (thus) getting killed.
51:	҆á дрꙋги ѿ сльнце ҆и ѿ зима ꙋмирáли	And others were dying from the sun and the cold.
52:	҆и падаль ҆ѡ́нáй граде́жь ѿ ве́трь	And that construction was falling apart because of the wind.
53:	҆и безь чи́сла чл҃веци погинáли на ҆ѡно́ва ме́сто	And countless people perished on that place.
54:	҆á невроть не престáнꙋль ѿ своѐ ѕло̀ нáвикнове́нїе	But Nimrod did not stop, because of his bad habits.
55:	҆и сакáль да зи́да ҆ѡни стль́пь до нб҃са	And he wanted to build the tower up to the heavens.
56:	но бг҃ь мл͒рьди виде́ль безь҆ꙋмие ҆и прель́сть чл҃веческа какво́ се трꙋди залꙋдꙋ	But the merciful God saw the mindlessness and deceit of man, how he works in vain.
57:	҆и забрани́ль ҆имь бг҃ь	And God prevented them (from continuing),
	да се не проти́вать	so that they would not work against (Him),
	҆и да се не пре́льщáють	and so that they would not deceive themselves.
58:	҆и свѐ тамо ҆имь раздели бг҃ь ҆ꙗ́зи́ци	And God divided the tongues of all there.
59:	҆и ҆ѡнай прь́ви ҆ꙗ́зикь свѝ забꙋвари́ша ҆еди́нь дрꙋгомꙋ що гово́рить	And all forgot that first language, (by) which one was speaking to another.
60:	збрькáхꙋ се	They got confused.
61:	҆и ҆ѡстави́хꙋ ҆ѡн҆ꙗ́ стль́пь да не прáвать	And they stopped working on the tower.
62:	҆и раздели́ли се ҆ези́ци	And the nations (languages) separated (from each other).
63:	на си́мово пле́ме ·ке·	(They separated into) 25 (nations) of the tribe of Shem.
64:	на хамово пле́ме ·лв· ҆е́зи́ци	(And they separated into) 32 (nations) of the tribe of Ham.
65:	товà хáмово пле́ме прокле́ль но҆ꙗ́ ҆о́ц҃ь хáмовь	Noah, Ham's father, cursed that tribe of Ham.
66:	҆ѡ́но се нáй мло́го било̀ ꙋмложи́ло	It had multiplied the most.
67:	ѿ не́гѡ́ нàй мрь́сни ро́дове ҆и ези́ци про҆изи-шлѝ	From him, the most dirty nations originated.
68:	҆и афетово пле́ме раздели́ло се на ·еı· ҆ези́ци	And the tribe of Japheth separated into 15 nations.
69:	҆и тако сáсь бж҃иемь повеленїемь пошло си́мово племе	And thus, by the will of God, went the Shem's tribe on.
70:	҆и ҆ѡстáло н҆á ѡзию	And it remained in Asia.
71:	х҆амово пле́ме ҆ѡстáло на ҆африкїю	Tribe of Ham remained in Africa.
72:	но мно́го билѝ ҆ѡстáли, на ҆ѡ́зию	But many had remained in Asia.
73:	҆и ꙋмно́жили се нá ·лз· цр͒тва,	And they multiplied into 37 kingdoms.
74:	по́сле потреби́ли ҆и евре́й ҆и иїс͒а нави́и́на ѿ ҆ѡна҆ꙗ́ земл҆ꙗ́	Afterwards, the Hebrews removed (them), and Jesus of Naue, from that land.
75:	҆и наследи́ли ҆евреи зе́млю хана҆áню	And the Hebrews inherited the land of Canaan.
76:	҆и ꙋби́ли си҆ѡ́на цр҃а ҆áморе́иска ҆и ҆ѡгà цр҃а васан͛ска ҆и всà, цр͒твї҆ꙗ́ хана҆áн͛ска	And they killed Sihon, King of Amorrea, and Og, King of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan.
77:	хана҆áнь ҆е́ би́ль, си́нь хáмовь	Canaan was the son of Ham.
78:	него́во се племе било зовало пле́ме хана҆áн͛ско	His tribe was called tribe of Canaan.
79:	нáй про́клето нá земли ѿ свѝ пле́мена	(It is) the most accursed one on the Earth of all the tribes.
80:	на се́дмь ҆ези-ци било̀	It was (including) seven nations.
81:	ѿ не́го са ҆и ци́гане те	From him are the Gypsies too.
82:	ти́҆ꙗ́, се҆дмь ҆е́зи́ци на ·лз· цр͒тва билѝ побили́ ги	(The Hebrews) had destroyed those seven nations of 37 kingdoms.
83:	҆и ҆искарáли ги ҆евре́й	And the Hebrews removed them.
84:	҆и ꙋзели ѿ ни́хь палести́ню ҆и ерл͒мь	And they took Palestine and Jerusalem from them.
85:	та҆ꙗ́ землꙗ ҆испрьво бе́ше ю бг҃ь ҆ѡбрекль ҆áвраàмꙋ	God first had promised that land to Abraham.
86:	҆и даль ю по́сле на ҆евре́й	And He gave it later to the Hebrews.
87:	҆á дрꙋги не́кой мꙋ́жь би́ло мꙋ ҆име ҆еверь ѿ си́мовь ро́дь би́ль	And there was another man in the tribe of Shem, whose name was Eber.
88:	҆и не послꙋшáль невро́та	He did not listen to Nimrod.
89:	҆и не ҆ишель на него́вь до́мь	And he did not go to his house.
90:	нї е помагáль невро́тꙋ да грáди ҆они́ стль́пь,	Neither did he help Nimrod to build that tower.
91:	защо́ се бо҆еше ѿ бг҃а ҆еверь	Because Eber feared God.
92:	҆и аврáмь ѿ него́вь ро́дь бе́ше	And Abraham was from his kin.
93:	҆и по негово ҆име еве́рь наре́кли се ҆евреи ҆и до дне́ска	And by his name, Eber, are the Hebrews called up to this day.
94:	҆и евре́йски ро́дь ѿ ҆áфетово племе, бе́ше	And the Hebrew nation was from the tribe of Japheth (?)
95:	҆и преишли свѝ чрь́ное море ҆и бе́лое	And they all crossed the Black and White Seas.
96:	҆и населили́ се на землю ҆евро́тꙋ	And they settled in the land of Europe.
97:	҆имáль ҆áфеть ҆едного си́на	Japheth had a son.
98:	зовáлї го мо́схось	They called him Meshech.
99:	҆и пошлѝ на полꙋ́нощна стрáна где́то е сьгà москов͛ска земл҆ꙗ́;	And (the tribe of Meshech?)
100:	҆и тамо що ймаше во́да ҆и водá та наре́кли мо́сква ре́ка	And the water, which was there, they called (by Meshech) River Moscow.
101:	҆и населили се тамо	And they settled there.
102:	҆и после начини́ли го грáдь	And then they made a city out of it (?)
103:	҆и поставили тáмо пр͒толь цр͒ки	And they placed a royal seat there.
104:	҆и порадѝ то наре́кли се москáле ҆и до дне́сь	And because of that they called themselves Muscovites until today.
105:	҆и кр͒ти ги ст҃и кири́ль ҆и меѳо́диа	And Sts. Cyril and Methodius baptized them.
106:	҆и порадѝ то наре́кли нáши кни́ги ҆и род ҆и ези́кь славен͛ски ро́дь	And for that (reason) they called our literature, and nation, and language a Slavic nation.
107:	҆ѡни най право ҆и на чи́сто гово́рать	They speak most correctly and most purely.
108:	҆и много ре́чи подо́бни на бльгар͛ски ҆езикь беседат †	And they speak many words similar to (those of) Bulgarian language.
109:	Пи́ше кни́га за бль́гаре	The book writes about Bulgarians:
110:	стрáшни ҆и сил͛ни би́ли на т҆о́ꙗ ст҃ь	They were terrible and powerful in this world.
111:	мáль народь се зове	It is called a small nation.
112:	҆áли не можел ни ҆еди́нь цр҃ь грьчески да ймь надви́е	But not a single Greek king could defeat them.
113:	тако́й пишꙋть ҆и грьци ҆ꙋ нихни кни́ги	Thus the Greeks, too, write in their books:
114:	бль́гаре ди́ви,	ʺBulgars (are) wild.ʺ
115:	҆и не страшли́ви на бо́й	ʺAnd (they are) fearless in combat.ʺ
116:	но ҆и тешки народ бльгар͛ски не победи́мых ва брáнехь	ʺBut also the Bulgarian nation (is) hard, (composed of men?) invincible in battle.ʺ
117:	мло́го пáкости чини́ли грь́комь ҆и римл҆ꙗ́номь	They did many raids (?) against Greeks and Romans.
118:	защо тако ре́кохꙋ грьци че сꙋ бль́гаре дивѝ ҆и не страшли́ви на бо́й	That is why (?) the Greeks said, that Bulgars are wild and fearless in combat.
119:	и ва мало време станáхꙋ бль́гаре на землю грь́ческꙋю	And Bulgars stepped in a short time on the land of the Greeks.
120:	҆и чини́хꙋ пáкость грькомь	And they raided the Greeks.
121:	҆и зато стáнꙋ цр҃ь грь́чки ꙋ҆ален͛ть сась войскꙋ на ни́хь	And for that (reason) the Greek Emperor Valens rose up with an army against them.
122:	но сáсь помощь бж҃їю надви́ли бль́гари цр҃ꙋ ꙋален͛тꙋ	But with the help of God, Bulgars defeated Emperor Valens.
123:	҆á ѡнь побе́галь да би ꙋте́каль	But he ran away (lit. to flee).
124:	҆ѡни́ го гони́ли до ҆едрене́	They pursued him up to Adrianople.
125:	҆ѡнь се скрил сась неговáго вези́ра ꙋ еднꙋ пле́вницꙋ	And he hid himself with his vizier in a barn.
126:	҆и ҆ѡнѝ запали́ли ҆ѡ́нꙋю пле́вницꙋ	And they set that barn on fire.
127:	҆и ҆и-згоре́ль цр҃ь грь́чки ꙋален͛ть сась него́ваго вези́ра	And Valens, the Greek Emperor, burned with his vizier.
128:	тако́й пише ва де҆ꙗ́нїе егѡ̀	Thus it is written in his biography.
129:	тако ҆и било ҆есть не ль́жно,	Thus it truly was (?)
130:	Зрѝ де҆ꙗ́нїе ҆ихь чи̇тáтелю	Behold their acts, o reader!
131:	҆и познай ҆истинꙋ что зде́ вь крат͛це написа-хомь.	And know the truth, which we have written in short here.
132:	Бáтоꙗ крáль сил͛ни ҆и хрáбри сїиречь ҆юнакь на бо́й	King Batoi, powerful and brave, that is heroical, in combat,
	ꙋзель землю ѿ ни́шка дрьжáва ҆и скоп͛ска ҆и ѡͯрит͛ска ҆и патри́ар͛шїꙗ	(he) took the land from the country of Naissos, and of Skopje, and of Ohrid, and (of?) the Patriarchate.
133:	҆и постави́ль сто́ль ва ҆ѡͯрить грáдь	And he built a throne in the city of Ohrid.
134:	҆и триве́лїа ст҃и крал би́ль	And (there was) Tervel (, who) was a holy king.
135:	ꙋзель вьса маџáрска зе́млꙗ	He took all the Hungarian land.
136:	҆издáлї ю бльгáри	Bulgarians gave it over (?)
137:	за мно́га лета давáли маџáри дáнокь	For many years, Magyars were paying the tribute.
138:	паки цр҃ь крꙋнь ҆и ҆и михáйль ꙋзели ѿ грь́ци дрьжáвꙋ софи́скꙋ ҆и филибели́скꙋ ҆и самоко́вскꙋ ҆и щип͛скꙋ ҆и стрꙋми́цꙋ ҆и едренѐ	Again, Emperor Krum and Michael took from the Greeks the counties of Sofia, and Filibe, and Samokov, and Shtip, and Strumitsa, and Edirne.
139:	҆и на-сели́ли по ти́а стрáни бль́гар͛ски, наро́дь	And they settled the Bulgarian people around those lands.
140:	҆и седꙋть бль́гаре тáмо ҆и до дне͒	And Bulgars live there until today.
141:	По́сле ҆иѡань калимань си́нь цр҃ь ҆áсе́новь ꙋзе́ль ѿ грь́ци дрьжáва драм͛ска ҆и сер͛ска ҆и мелниш͛ка ҆и солꙋнска	Afterwards, Ivan Kaliman, son of the King Asen, took from the Greeks the counties of Drama, Serres, Melnik and Salonica.
142:	҆и ҆искарáль ѿ тамо грь́ци	And he expelled the Greeks from there.
143:	҆и насели́ли се бль́гари	And Bulgars settled there.
144:	такои ҆и до дне́сь по ѡнїа земли живе́ют бль́гаре	Thus, Bulgars live on those lands until today.
145:	после беше, дрꙋги крáль вꙋки́чь
146:	вь ле́то ·ун· нападнахꙋ дрꙋ́гаго вар͛да крáлꙗ що бе́ше ҆изби́ль де́веть хи́лꙗди бльгаре	In year 450 they attacked another king, Dagobert (?), who had killed nine thousand Bulgars.
147:	҆и надвили мꙋ сась бо̆и	And they defeated him in combat.
148:	҆и ѡплени́ли, всꙋ неговꙋ землю	And they pillaged all of his land.
149:	҆и после ҆имали бльгаре дрꙋгаго кнеза себе драги́ча	And afterwards Bulgars had another prince, Dragich.
150:	҆и падли на фрáнгїю ҆и на ҆алерика	And they attacked France and Illyria.
151:	и раззби́ли воискꙋ грь́ческꙋю	And they crushed the Greek army.
152:	҆и поби́ли ·у· хил҆ꙗ́ди грь́ци	And they killed 400 thousand Greeks.
153:	и ѡпленїли млого зе́млю ҆и народь грь́чески	And they pillaged a lot of land and Greek people.
154:	҆и после се ꙋбо҆ꙗ́ль, цр҃ь ҆áнастáсїа	And afterwards, Emperor Anastasius became afraid.
155:	҆и пратиль много сребро̀ ҆и злáто бльгаромь ҆и дари мно́гоцени́	And he sent a lot of silver and gold to Bulgars, as well as precious gifts.
156:	҆и ҆испроси́ль се́бе мирь	And he begged out peace for himself.
157:	пáки то́й драги́чь ꙋзимáль данокь ѿ грьческаго цр҃а ҆анастасию †	Again, that Dragich was taking tax from the Greek Emperor Anastasius.
158:	После по ҆áнастáсїꙗ цр҃а настанꙋл͛ сꙋл͛тань сꙋлимáнь тꙋр͛ски	After Emperor Anastasius, Sulayman, Sultan of Turks rose up.
159:	҆и то́й поиде сáсь си́л͛на войска	And he went with a powerful army.
160:	҆и засе́дли цр҃игрáдь за три ле́та	And they besieged Tsarigrad for three years.
161:	҆и тако ѿ глáди ҆измре́ли,	And thus they perished by hunger.
162:	҆и ҆и по мо́ре ҆избе́гли	And they fled by the sea.
163:	҆и по мо́ре се ҆издави́ли	And they drowned in the sea.
164:	҆и тако три хил҆ꙗ́ди чл҃веци погїнꙋ́ли	And thus three throusand people died.
165:	пáки тривели́а крáль бльгар͛ски сьбрал войска сил͛на	Again, King Tervel of Bulgaria assembled a powerful army.
166:	҆и пошьль, на по́мощь хр͒тиӑномь	And he went to help Christians.
167:	҆и нападнꙋ́ль нá тꙋр͛ци кре́пко	And he staunchly attacked the Turks.
168:	҆и ꙋби́ль ѿ ни́хь ·кв· хилꙗ́ди	And he killed 22 thousand of them.
169:	҆и ѿкарáль вьса си́ла тꙋр͛ска ѿ цр҃игрáдь	And he chased all the Turkish forces away from Tsarigrad.
170:	то҆ꙗ́ тривели́а крал прьво ꙋзел верꙋ хр͒тиан͛скꙋ	That King Tervel (was the?) first (who?) accepted the faith of Christianity.
171:	҆и покр͒тил се вь ле́то гд͒не ·ѱг·	And he got baptized in the year 703 AD.
172:	По не́го настáль не́кои чл҃ве́кь ҆име́ мꙋ било̀ крꙋнь	After him a man, his name was Krum, rose up.
173:	҆изредень веледш҃ень ї бл҃гополꙋчень вь воин͛ство	(He was) disciplined, magnanimous, and had fortune in wars.
174:	то҆ꙗ́ би́ль не верни	That one was an unbeliever.

180:	҆и изби́ль ·лв· хил҆ꙗ́ди грьци	And he killed 32 thousand Greeks.
181:	҆и ҆ѡбрьнꙋ́л се крꙋ́нь на цр҃а грь́ческаго,	And Krun turned against the Greek Emperor.
182:	҆и поразил мꙋ свꙋ зе́млю ҆и дрьжáвꙋ грь́-ческꙋю ҆и фран͛цꙋскꙋю	And he crushed all of his land and realm, Greek and Frankish.
183:	҆и по това цр҃ь ни́кїфорь грь́чки прати́ль хазна цр͒ка҆ꙗ́	And afterwards, Emperor Nicephorus of Greece sent his royal treasury,
	да зби́ра войскꙋ на бль́гаре	to collect an army against Bulgars.
184:	коги дойде генарáрь при ре́кꙋ стрꙋми́цꙋ тамо гѡ́ прете́че крꙋнь	When a general (of Nicephorus?) came to the river of Strumitsa, Krun overtook him there.

187:	҆и сва хазнà мꙋ ѿтьвнꙋль	And he took all of his treasury.

189:	ѡще ҆изби́ль, ше сто́тинь хил҆ꙗ́ди войне ники́форови	He also killed six hundred thousand soldiers of Nicephorus,
	҆и безз числа простаго наро́да	and an immense number (lit. without number) of simple people .
190:	ники́форь сьбра войска без чи́сла	Nicephorus assembled an immense army.
191:	҆и настꙋпи́ль на бльгари́ю	And he attacked Bulgaria.
192:	҆и ҆име҆ꙗ́ль сáсь се́бе сн҃а своего став-рáкию	And he had his son Stauracius with him.
193:	҆и тако безбо́жно погꙋбил зем͛лю каде е проми́нꙋль	And thus, godlessly, he destroyed the land wherever he had passed.
194:	҆и мислиль да порази в͛сꙋ бльгарїю	And he thought to destroy Bulgaria totally.
195:	҆и їзго́риль на ҆ѡгнь до́мь крꙋновь	And he burnt (lit. with fire) the house of Krum.
196:	҆á крꙋнь се беше много ꙋплáшиль	And Krum had become very afraid.
197:	҆и проси́ль мирь ѿ ники́фора	And he begged Nicephorus for peace.
198:	҆á ники́форь не ще҆ꙗ́ль да ꙋчи́ни, мирь	But Nicephorus did not want to make peace.

	що е би́ль ҆ѡплени́ль ники́форь ѿ цр҃ь крꙋновь дво́рь	which Nicephorus had looted from the Krum's palace.
207:	҆и тꙋ ꙋби́ли бль́гари никифора цр҃а,	And there Bulgars killed Emperor Nicephorus.
208:	҆и повеле́ль цр҃ь крꙋнь	And Emperor Krum gave command.
209:	҆и натакнꙋли ◄ глáвꙋ никифо́ровꙋ на ви́лꙋ ради сме́хь	And they stuck the head of Nicephorus on a pitchfork for mockery,

	҆и свеки да знае какво е ҆ималь цр҃ь крꙋнь побе́дꙋ на грь́ци	and so that everyone knows, how Emperor Krum had a victory over Greeks.

212:	҆и начини́ли чáшꙋ ѿ не҆ꙗ́	And they made a cup from it.

226:	но ҆áлеѯан͛дрь станꙋль сась нова войска противꙋ сте́фана	But Alexander rose up with a new army against Stephen.
227:	҆и возврати́л͛ го назать вь срьби́ю	And he turned him back to Serbia.
228:	҆и после́ се ҆ѡбрьнꙋ́ль на цр҃а грьческаго	And afterwards he turned against the Greek Emperor.
229:	҆и ѡплени́ль мло́го села ҆и грáдове	And he plundered many villages and cities.
230:	҆и на-полни́ се са͒ ҆именїе	And he filled himself with property.
231:	҆и врьнꙋ се во бльга-ри́ю	And he returned to Bulgaria.
232:	҆и рекль ҆алеѯан͛дриа да ꙋчини мирь сáсь грьче́скаго цр҃а	And Alexander said (asked?), to make peace with the Greek Emperor.
233:	то́й не хоте҆ꙗ́ль мирь	(But) he did not want peace.
234:	҆áлеѯан͛дриа ҆ималь при се́бе во̀йскꙋ ·и· хил҆ꙗ́ди бльгаре ҆и ·в· хилꙗди влáси	Alexander had with him and army of 8 thousand Bulgars and 2 thousand Wallachians.
235:	҆и тако станꙋль сась, десеть хил҆ꙗ́ди войскꙋ противꙋ грь́ци що би́ли ·о· хил҆ꙗ́ди	And thus he stood with an army of ten thousand against Greeks, who were 70 thousand.
236:	҆и ꙋдари́ль воискꙋ по междꙋ грьци	And he struck (with?) army in between the Greeks.
237:	но бль́гаре не ѿстꙋпи́ли никáко	But Bulgars did not retreat in any way.
238:	но би́ли креп͛ко войскꙋ, грь́ческꙋю	But they were beating the Greek army staunchly.
239:	҆и тако побе́гли грь́ци назат	And thus the Greeks ran back.
240:	҆и цр҃ь їѡань грьчки ҆едва ꙋте́че ꙋ град рꙋхчꙋ́кь	And the Greek Emperor John hardly escaped to the city of Russe.
241:	҆á бль́гаре ҆ѡбседли градь зá мно́гѡ вре́ме	But Bulgars besieged the city for a long time.
242:	҆и тако цр҃ь ҆иѡань станꙋль мно́го гри́жень	And thus the Emperor John became very anxious.
243:	҆и никако не может͛ се домислити како можеть со-твори́ти	And he could not (lit. cannot) think of what he could do.
244:	пáки ҆áлеѯан͛дриа цр҃ь пожалил͛ го	Again, Emperor Alexander felt sorry for him.
245:	҆и предал͛ мꙋ сась свою̀ во́лю, мирь	And he gave him peace by his will.
246:	҆и рекль мꙋ да ҆иде ꙋ цр҃игрáдь сь миромь	And he told him to go to Tsarigrad in peace.
247:	҆и ѡн͛ се ҆ѡбрадꙋваль тврьде	And he became very glad.

249:	҆и сакаше за мно́го лета да ҆има ми́рь са͒ ҆áлеѯан͛дрию цр҃а	And he wanted to have peace for many years with Emperor Alexander.
250:	҆и даль свою дьщерь десе́толетнꙋю за сн҃а ҆áлеѯан͛дрова, ҆иѡ҆ана шишмáна	And he gave his ten-year old daughter for Ivan Shishman, son of Alexander.

252:	҆и соврьши́ли свад͛ба слáвна ҆и весел͛ба мно́го во ҆едрене	And they made a famous marriage and a lot of celebrations in Adrianople.

260:	ѿкарал͛ь ю ѿ се́бе ҆áлеѯáндри҆ꙗ	Alexander expelled her from him.
261:	҆и ꙋзел си дрꙋга ҆е́вреан͛ка	And he married another, a Jew.
262:	повель прьво кр͒тїти ю	He first commanded to baptize her.
263:	҆и тако ꙋзе́ль ю за женꙋ	And thus he took her for a wife.
264:	҆á прьвою женꙋ̀ пратил сась си́на свое́го страшѝми́ра ꙋ види́нь	And he sent his first wife with her son Sratsimir to Vidin.
265:	҆и даль своемꙋ си́нꙋ ҆и на мт҃ерь да прáвать ви́динь ѿ, че́тири стрáни	And he gave (command?) to his son and to his mother, to rule Vidin from four sides (?)
266:	҆и по некое вре́ме страшѝми́рь по майкини си, дꙋми не слꙋшáль свое́го ҆оц҃а	And, after some time, (instigated) by words of his mother, he disobeyed his father.

268:	҆и не покори́л͛ се ҆оц҃ꙋ нѝ нащо	And his did not submit to his father in any way.
269:	҆и цр҃ь ҆але́ѯан͛дриа ҆ималь мно́го мл͒ть за сина своего страши́мира	But (lit. and) Emperor Alexander had a lot of mercy for his son Sratsimir.

271:	но крáль маџар͛ски пришел	But the Hungarian king came.
272:	҆и ҆ѡбсе́даль ви́динь	And he besieged Vidin.
273:	҆и ꙋфати́ль, страши́ми́ра	And he captured Sratsimir.
274:	҆и бил͛ го мно́го	And he was beating him a lot.
275:	҆и нáказал͛ го добрѐ	And he punished him well.
276:	защо сѐ не поко́ри ҆о́ц҃ꙋ свое́мꙋ	Because he did not submit to his father.
277:	҆и дрьжал͛ го мно́го ꙋ темни́цꙋ затво́рень	And he had him incarcerated in a dungeon for long.

280:	҆и ꙋзел͛ мꙋ ҆едно̀ де́те за зало́гь	And he took one child from him as a hostage.

284:	҆И вь то време хоте́ль сꙋл͛тáнь мꙋрáть да ди́гне во́йскꙋ на бль́гари́ю	And in that time, Sultan Murad wanted to raise an army against Bulgaria.
285:	҆áлеѯáндрїа мꙋ дáль ҆еднꙋ, свою дь́щерь за женꙋ̀	Alexander gave him one of his daughters as a wife.
286:	҆и тако ҆имали ми́рь сась сꙋл͛тань мꙋрáта тꙋр͛скаго	And thus they had peace with Murad, Sultan of Turks.
287:	҆и нещо мало вре́ме цр҃ьствꙋвáли	And they ruled for some time.
288:	҆и ꙋмре́ль ҆але́ѯан͛дрїа цр҃ь [ѯѯ] вь ле́то ·҂атѯг·	And Emperor Alexander died in the year 1363.
289:	҆и ѡстáвиль ҆алеѯáндриа, три, си́нове страши́мира ҆и ҆асена ҆и шишмáна и҆ѡ́ана	And Alexander left three sons: Sratsimir, and Asen, and Ivan Shishman.
290:	По ҆áлеѯан͛дра настáль на цр͒твѡ́ ҆иѡань шишмáнь	After Alexander, Ivan Shishman became the Emperor.

292:	҆и било мїр междо̀ грьци ҆и междо бль́гаре ҆и ҆и сась мꙋрáта	And there was peace between Greeks and Bulgars and with Murad.
293:	коги́ се престáви ҆áлеѯан͛дриа цр҃ь развали́хꙋ то̀й҆ꙗ́ мирь про́клети грь́ци	When Emperor Alexander died, that peace was broken by the accursed Greeks.
294:	҆и станꙋ́ль цр҃ь шишмáнь	And Emperor Shishman stood up.
295:	҆и ꙋзель ѿ грьци ҆едрене	And he took Edirne from the Greeks.
296:	҆и наложи́ль дáнокь на грь́ци	And he put the Greeks under tax.
297:	зато ҆ѡни прѝзвáхꙋ мꙋрáта са͒ моле́нїе вели́кое на бль́гаре	But they called Murad with much begging against Bulgars.
298:	҆и при́ше́ль мꙋрáть сась вели́ка воис͛ка тꙋр͛ска на бльгарӥа по чрь́но мо́ре ҆и по сꙋхо	And Murad came with a great army against Bulgaria by Black Sea and on the dry land.
299:	҆и раздели́ се воиска	And the army was divided.
300:	поль на бльгари́а	A half (went) against Bulgaria.
301:	по́ль на влахи́ꙗ,	A half (went) against Wallachia.
302:	тако ҆иѡань ши́шмань ҆и два брáта него́ви сташѝмирь ҆и асе́нь би́ли се креп͛ко с мꙋрáта	Thus Ivan Shishman and his two brothers, Sratsimir and Asen, fought staunchly with Murad.
303:	҆и надви́ли мꙋ	And they defeated him.
304:	҆и пропꙋди́ли го	And they chased him away.
305:	҆и ҆ѿи́шьль посрáмень ѿ бль́гаре	And he went away from Bulgaria in shame.
306:	но на та҆ꙗ́ войска ꙋби́ли тꙋрци ҆áсена брáта шишмáнова	But in that war, the Turks killed Asen, brother of Shishman.
307:	тако̀ ҆и дрꙋга та во́йска тꙋр͛ска що ишлà на влахи́ю	Also the second army of Turks, which went against Wallachia,
	побили влáси свѐ до ҆еди́наго	Wallachs slaughtered it totally, to the last man.
308:	дрꙋги се подави́ли ꙋ дꙋ́новь	Others drowned in Danube.
309:	тако́и се сп͒ли вь тѡ вре́ме бль́гаре ҆и́ влáси ѿ голе́мо зло̀ тꙋрско .:.	Thus both Bulgars and Wallachs saved themselves from the great evil of Turks.
310:	Сꙋл͛тань мꙋрать ꙋдари́ль себе, вь грꙋ́ди	Sultan Murad struck himself in the breast.
311:	҆и ꙋзе́ль мло́го ҆и големь, ҆ꙗ́дь ҆и срьдба ҆и ѕло́ба на бль́гаре	And he was overcome by (lit. took) a lot and great anger, and evil against Bulgars.
312:	҆и паки за, трѝ, ле́та сьбирà во҆искꙋ тꙋрскꙋ на бль́гаре	And after three years he collected the Turkish army against Bulgaria again.
313:	҆и на товà поꙋчи́л го цр҃ь грьчески манꙋйль	And he was incited to that by the Greek Emperor Manuel.
314:	ва то́й вре́ме страши́ми́рь ҆и цр҃ь шишмáнь ҆имáли рáспра междꙋ, се́бе	At that time, Sratsimir and Emperor Shishman had a dispute with each other.
315:	страшѝми́рь сакáль да цр҃ьствꙋва ꙋ трь́ново като по стáри брáть	Sratsimir wanted to rule in Tarnovo, being the older brother.
316:	но ҆и҆ѡӑнь шишмáнь не ще҆ꙗ́ль да го пꙋщи	But Ivan Shishman did not want to let him.
317:	нь мꙋ ре́кль	But he said to him:
318:	те́бе постави́ль ҆о́ц҃ь нáшь ꙋ ви́-динь да цр͒твꙋ́вашь самово́лно	ʺOur father installed you in Vidin, so that you rule (it) independently.ʺ
319:	҆и ҆и сосꙋ́ва ти ви́динь	ʺAnd Vidin is enough for you!ʺ
320:	҆á ме́не ҆ѡста-ви́ль на цр͒тво	ʺBut he left the kingdom for me.ʺ
321:	не ѿстꙋпáю ти,	ʺI do not yield to you!ʺ
322:	тáко ҆имеꙗли ненави́сть ҆ѡба ме́ждꙋ се́бе	And thus the both had hate between themselves.
323:	брáли во́йска да се би́ють	They were taking armies to fight each other.
324:	но вь то́й вре́ме виде́лї грь́ци несаглáсїе бльгар͛ско сїречь недо́говорь	But in that time, Greeks saw the disagreement, that is disunity (?) among Bulgars.
325:	҆и вьстáль мꙋрáть	And Murad rose up.
326:	паки сáсь войска на бль́гаре ҆изь҆ишель по мо́ре на кали́поль	Again, he went to Gallipoli by sea with an army against Bulgaria.
327:	тáмо е било̀ жи́тное пристáнище	There was a grain harbor.
328:	пошлà тꙋрска войска на бль́гаре	He sent the Turkish army against Bulgaria.
329:	҆á страши́ми́рь не ще҆ꙗ́ль да йде на по́мощь брáтꙋ свое́мꙋ ѿ зло́бꙋ ҆и ненави́сть що ҆имáли на ши́шмáна	But Sratsimir did not want to go to help his brother because of anger and hate, which he (lit. they ?) had against Shishman.
330:	тáко тꙋ́рци прьво ꙋзелї едренѐ ѿ бль́гаре	Thus the Turks first took Edirne from Bulgars.
331:	пáки пошлѝ ҆и на трь́ново сáсь вели́ка си́ла	Again, they went also against Tarnovo with a great power.
332:	҆и било мло́го брáнь	And there was a lot of fighting.
333:	но ҆и крь́вопролїтие мло́го	But (there was) also a lot of bloodshed.

338:	҆и ꙋзе́ли трьновь грáдь	And they took the city of Tarnovo.

340:	ѿ ҆ѡ́нова вре́ме ҆и до дне́сь порáзвають ҆и ҆ѡзлобл҆ꙗ́҆ють зе́млю бльгар͛скою	And from that time until today they destroy and torment the land of Bulgaria.
341:	ꙋзе́ли тꙋрци зе́млю ҆и цр͒тво бльгар͛ско вь лето, гд͒не ·҂ато· .. ◄	Turks took the land and kingdom of Bulgaria in the 1370 AD.
342:	҆И пришь́ль мꙋрáть	And Murad came.
343:	҆и пренесль престоль сво́й ѿ грáда брꙋ́са ꙋ ҆едренѐ	And he transferred his throne from the city of Bursa to Edirne.
344:	҆и по два нá десеть го́дини по́сле пошль́ на срь́бие	And after twelve years later, he went against Serbia.
345:	҆и ꙋзе́ль ҆и срьп͛ска зем͛лꙗ ѿ кне́за лáзара	And he took the Serbian land too, from King Lazar.
346:	҆и ꙋби́ль кне́зь лáзарь цр҃а мꙋрàта на ко́сово по́ле	And King Lazar killed Emperor Murad on the Field of Blackbirds.
347:	по мꙋрáта станꙋ́ль на цр͒тво си́нь него́вь	After Murad, his son rose up to the kingdom.

356:	ѡбте́клї ги́ тꙋрци ѿ вьсꙋдꙋ	The Turks surrounded them from all sides.
357:	тако̀ после ҆и ни́хь порази́ли	And thus they crushed them too.
358:	҆и ҆ѡбрáли	And they robbed (them).
359:	҆и погази́ли ги	And they trampled them.
360:	вь грь́чески кнїги пи́сано како̀ да сꙋ сáми ши́шмáнь ҆и страшѝмирь призвáли тꙋрци на бльгари́ю ҆еди́нь нá дрꙋги	In Greek books (it is) written, that Shishman and Sratsimir alone invited Turks to Bulgaria, against each other.
361:	но тꙋрци вастáли на ҆ѡба ҆ихь	But Turks rose up against both of them.
362:	҆и ꙋзели ѿ ни́хь бльгари́ю	And they took Bulgaria from them.
363:	то сꙋ грь́ци писáли	Greeks were writing so.
364:	но не́ сть тако ҆истина	But this is not true.
365:	҆ѡнѝ покривáють своѐ де́ло лꙋкáвое	They are concealing their evil deed.
366:	҆испрьво тáко написáли ле́топи́хци нихни	Thus wrote their historians at first.
367:	но рꙋ́ски ҆и московцкї печатени ҆исторїй, показꙋють ҆изве́сно како е цр҃ь грьчески манꙋйль призвáль тꙋрцї	But Russian and Muscovite printed histories clearly indicate, that the Greek Emperor Manuel had invited the Turks.
368:	҆издáль цр͒тво бль́гарско на, тꙋрци ꙋ рꙋке	He gave the Kingdom of Bulgaria to the hands of Turks.
369:	҆и пꙋщил͛ ги презь мо́ре ҆и по сꙋхо на бльгари́ю	And he let them by sea and by dry (land to march) against Bulgaria.
370:	тáко ҆ѡстáла ҆испрьво брáнь на, бльгари́ю чре́зь ҆и на цр҃а ши́шмана	Thus the fighting was first limited by (Greeks) to Bulgaria and to Emperor Shishman.
371:	то҆ꙗ́ цр҃ь шишмань ҆иѡ҆ань седе́ль ҆и цр͒твꙋвáль ꙋ трь́ново се́дмь го́дини	That Emperor Shishman Ivan sat and ruled in Tarnovo for seven years.
372:	҆и били поче́ли вь то́й вре́ме бль́гарско да щáнпать кни́ги бо́лгарски	And they had began in that Bulgarian (?) time to print books in Bulgarian.
373:	҆и неколи́ко кни́ги би́ли ҆изь҆ишлѝ на щан͛па ѿ ҆онова вре́ме	And some books had been published in print in that time.
374:	҆и до сь́га нахо́дат се евглїа на ко́жи щан͛пани	And until today, there are Gospels printed on leather to be found.
375:	вь то време, не сꙋ билѝ чл҃ве́ци хи́три на тá҆ꙗ́ рабо́та	At that time, people had not been skilled in such things.
376:	нь сꙋ билѝ про́сти(ю) извади́ли ҆и сло́ва ҆и ре́чи	But they had simple took out words and sentences (?)
377:	тако̀ ҆и рꙋси ҆испрьво не билѝ ҆искꙋснїй	Thus also Russians were not skilled at first,
378:	нь про́сто щан͛пали кни́ги	but they simply printed the books.
379:	но сега разꙋме́ли ҆и извести́ли ҆и речи ҆и сло́ва по грамати́кꙋ	But now they understood the words and sentences (?) by grammar.
380:	҆и ле́по нареди́ли писме́на ҆и ꙋкраси́ли,	And they nicely put the letters into order and decorated them.
381:	► За то́го цр҃а шишмáна ҆иѡ҆ана не име́ють ҆изве́стно пи́сано что се сáсь него ꙋчинѝ	Concerning that Emperor Ivan Shishman, there is no known written (evidence) of what happened with him.
382:	҆или го ꙋби́ли тꙋр͛ци вь то вре́ме	Either he was killed by Turks at that time,
383:	҆или поживел за неколи́ко вре́ме по́сле,	or he lived for some time afterwards.
384:	҆И нахо́ди се ва стáро вре́ме	And it is found in (a letter from?) older time (?),
	како̀ то҆ꙗ́ шишмáнь їѡ҆ань ҆и трь́новски гд͒ре не сꙋ мо́гли да сѐ ҆ѡпрать на мꙋрáта цр҃а тꙋрскаго	how that Shishman Ivan and lords of Tarnovo could not fight Murad, Emperor of the Turks.
385:	нь иззбе́гли ис трь́ново ҆и ѿ заго́рие ҆и ѿ стáрꙋ плáнинꙋ	But they fled from Tarnovo, and from Zagore, and from the Balkan Mountains.
386:	҆и пришли вь град среде́ць ҆и на софи́а	And they came to the city of Sredets and to Sofia.
387:	҆и тꙋ се запре́ли на не́кой тесни ме́ста по краи ҆искарь рекꙋ ҆и по вито́ша горà	And here they fortified (?) themselves at some narrow places along River Iskar and Vitosha Mountain.
388:	тако̀ ҆имали помощь ѿ срь́бие ҆и ѿ крал҆ꙗ́ вꙋкоши́на ҆и ѿ ҆охритски бль́гаре	Thus they had help from Serbs, and from King Vukashin, and from Bulgars of Ohrid.

392:	҆и биль грáдь тврьд	And it was a (well) fortified city.

397:	но ҆и ꙋмори́ли цр҃а шишмáна ҆и воин͛ство ҆и гд͒ре трь́нов͛ски ҆и бль́гарьски	But they also killed Emperor Shishman, and his army, and lords of Tarnovo and Bulgaria.
398:	҆и све тꙋ конь́чно тꙋрци затрїхꙋ бль́гарски наро́дь	And finally, they destroyed here the Bulgarian nation.

402:	҆и ҆ѡстало ҆имение ꙋ зе́млю ни́хно мло́го	And a lot of their property remained in the ground.
403:	сташи-мирь брáть шишмáновь пребе́галь вь мол͛довлахи́ю	Sratsimir, brother of Shishman, fled to Moldowallachia.
404:	҆и тамо поживел до самрь́ть .:.	And there he lived until his death.

516:	тако̀ ҆и срьбїе после ѿ бльгáре кр͒тихꙋ се	Thus, the Serbs were baptized afterwards by Bulgars.
517:	тако бль́гарскї наро́дь по напредь ꙋзе́ли православною верꙋ хр͒тиан͛скою ѿ вьси слав҆ꙗ́не	Thus, the Bulgarian nation took the Orthodox Christian faith before all the Slavs.
518:	Вьнемлѝ зде ҆ѡпáснѡ, [†] читáтелю да помни́ши	Take heed cautiously, o reader, so that you remember:

520:	та҆ꙗ́ вина бльгáромь ѿ грь́ческаꙗ дꙋховна влáсть приходить	That guilt against Bulgars comes from the Greek clerical powers (?)
521:	҆и много наси́лїе не прáведно трьпáть ѿ грьчески влдци ва ти́а вре́мена	And they injustly suffer a lot of violence in these times from Greek bishops.
522:	но бль́гаре прїима ги бл҃го́говено	But Bulgars accept them piously.
523:	҆и почитáют ги за ҆ар͛хиере́й	And they respect them as archbishops.
524:	҆и сꙋгꙋбо плащáють имь дль́жное,	And they pay them their due twice.
525:	зато по них͛на простотà ҆и незлобие воспрїимꙋть ѿ бг҃а м͛здꙋ	Thus, for their simplicity and meekness, they will receive a reward from God.
526:	тако ҆и ѡни ҆áрхиере́й сась тꙋрска си́ла насилꙋють ҆á не сáсь, ҆áр͛хиерейское прáвило	Thus, those archbishops violate them with Turkish power, and not with the authority of an archbishop.
527:	тво́рать бль́гаромь вели́ка ҆ѡби́да ҆и наси́лие	They do a great insult and injury to Bulgars.
528:	҆и ѡнѝ по своѐ дело ҆и безьслове́стїе воспрїймꙋть м͛здꙋ, свою̀ ѿ бг҃а по рече́номꙋ	And they will, for their deed and speechlessness, receive their reward from God, as it is said:
529:	҆ꙗ́ко ти́ воздаси комꙋ́ждо по дело́мь ҆егѡ̀,	ʺFor you reward everyone according to his deeds.ʺ
530:	но ҆áзь вь крáтце напи́сахь зде коли́ко сьвькꙋпи́хь вси вкꙋпе вь сїю ҆истори́ю	But I wrote here, in this chronicle, all together, whatever I collected.
531:	҆и скончáхь рече́наꙗ на ползꙋ ро́дꙋ бльгарьскомꙋ	And I finished the said for the gain of the Bulgarian kin.
532:	вь слáвꙋ ҆и похвалꙋ гд͒ꙋ нáшемꙋ ҆иıс͒ꙋ хр͒тꙋ	(For) the glory and praise of our Lord Jesus Christ!
533:	҆емꙋже слáва ҆и во ве́ки всегдà веко́вь	To him (be) glory forever!
