| 3: | поне́же прилꙋчи́ се нáмь мно́го крáть прочитáти разли́чнїи ҆исторїй рꙋкопи́сни ҆и печáтни | Because it happened to us to read many times various histories, (both) handwritten and printed, | 
| что иззвади́ли рꙋс҆ꙗ́ ҆и москов͛ци ҆ѡсобно ради славен͛скаго ҆ꙗ́зи́ка ҆и наро́да | which the Russians and Muscovites selected particularly concerning the Slavic language and nation. | |
| 4: | ѿ кꙋдꙋ пове́ли своѐ пле́ме | From where they led their tribe from? | 
| 5: | ҆и на после́докь како се ѿдели́ли ѿ нихь бль́гаре | And finally, how the Bulgars separated from them, | 
| ҆и при́шли́ | and (how they) came, | |
| ҆и васели́ли се ва землю сїю бол͛гар͛скою, | and (how they) settled in this land of Bulgaria. | |
| 6: | чтѝ чи̇тáтелю | Read, o reader! | 
| 7: | ҆и разꙋме́й, | And understand! | 
| 8: | [поими сїе ѡ но́е] | [sidenote] Take this about Noah! | 
| 9: | Коги пото́пи бг҃ь при ною весь род чл҃вечески | When God drowned all the human kind during the time of Noah, | 
| тькмо бехꙋ ҆ѡстáли, ѿ пото́па ҆ѡсмь дш҃и но҆ꙗ́ ҆и три синове него́ви си́мь ҆и хáмь ҆и ҆афе́ть | only eight souls remained: Noah, and his three sons - Shem, Ham and Japheth, | |
| ҆и четири женѝ ни́х͛ни | and their four wives. | |
| 10: | видѐ но҆ꙗ защо̀ поги́бе на земли свь́ ро́дь чл҃ве́чески | Noah saw, that the whole human kind on the Earth perished. | 
| 11: | ҆и проразꙋме защо̀ ѿ него́во се́ме ҆и рода хо́щеть бг҃ь напльни́ти зе́млю | And he understood, that God will fill the Earth from his seed and kin. | 
| 12: | ҆и зарадвáл се, бе́ше ҆ꙗ́ко защо̀ хо́шеть ҆ѡстáти слáвна пáметь ҆его нá земли до́ века, | And he rejoiced much, for his glorious memory will remain on Earth forever. | 
| 13: | Призвáль три си́нове сво́й си́ма хáма ҆и ҆афета | He called his three sons - Shem, Ham and Japheth. | 
| 14: | ҆и раздели́ль ҆имь на трѝ де́лове свꙋ зе́млю | And he divided all the Earth in three parts, | 
| да знáють, ко́й каде щѐ да дрьжѝ | so that they know, who will hold where (which land), | |
| коги се ꙋмножꙋть ни́х͛ни си́нове ҆и ꙋнꙋци на земли | when their sons and grandsons multiply on Earth, | |
| ҆и ѡни да знáють ко́й на ко҆ꙗ́ стрáна да се нáсе́ли | and so that they know, who where will settle. | |
| 15: | си́мꙋ прьвомꙋ си́нꙋ, свое́мꙋ заповедà да се насе́ли с него́во пле́ме на прьвїꙗ дель ва зе́млю ҆áзи́ю | He commanded his first son, Shem, to settle with his tribe to the first part, to the land of Asia. | 
| 16: | то беше восточна зем͛лꙗ | That was the eastern land. | 
| 17: | на не҆ꙗ́ сто́йть р҆áй ҆и еде́мь ҆и ерꙋсалим | On it are located the Paradise, and Eden, and Jerusalem. | 
| 18: | ҆и дрьжи до спроти цр҃игрáдь .:. | And it stretches (?) up to Tsarigrad. | 
| 19: | хамꙋ второмꙋ синꙋ заповедà да се́ насе́ли на ҆áври́ка | To Ham, the second son, he commanded to settle in Africa. | 
| 20: | то е ҆ю́жна стрáна земли | That is the southern part of Earth. | 
| 21: | на не҆ꙗ́ сто́йть ҆еги́петь ҆и френ͛ски́ наро́дь, | On it are located Egypt and the French (?) nation. | 
| 22: | ҆и афе́тꙋ третомꙋ си́нꙋ своемꙋ заповедà да се насе́ли на евро́на | And to Japheth, the third son, he commanded to settle in Europe. | 
| 23: | то е зáпадна ҆и полꙋ́нощна зем͛лꙗ | That is the western and the northern land. | 
| 24: | на не҆ꙗ́ сто́йть бечь ри́мь бран͛дибꙋр ҆и весь славен͛ски наро́дь | There is located Vienna, Brandenburg, and all the Slavic nation. | 
| 25: | тако заповеда но҆ꙗ́ на си́нове сво́й | Thus Noah commanded to his sons. | 
| 26: | ҆и разделѝ ҆имь на трѝ де́лове зе́млю | And (thus) he divided the Earth to three parts. | 
| 27: | ҆и ҆ѡставѝ ҆имь заповедь креп͛кꙋ да не бѝ престꙋпили заповедь ҆с́инове ҆е́го | And he left them a strong command, so that his sons would not transgress the command. | 
| 28: | когѝ пре҆идоша ѿ пото́па ·фкѳ· ле́та тогива се ꙋмно́жихꙋ си́нове ҆и ꙋнꙋци си́-мови ҆и хамови ҆и афе́тови | When 529 years from the Flood passed, then the sons and grandsons of Shem, Ham and Japheth became many. | 
| 29: | ҆и дꙋмали сꙋ сви́ те ҆е́динь ҆ꙗ́зи́кь | And they all spoke one language. | 
| 30: | ҆и станꙋль, ҆е́ди́нь чл҃ве́кь ҆име мꙋ било невроть, ѿ пле́мене хáмово | And a man, his name was Nimrod, emerged in (lit. from) the tribe of Ham. | 
| 31: | ҆и ѡнь би́ль мꙋ-дрь звездоче́тець | And he was a wise astrologer. | 
| 32: | ҆и нáй силень би́ль ва ҆ѡнова вре́ме ѿ свѝ чл҃ве́ци на землѝ | And he was the strongest man among all the people on Earth at the time. | 
| 33: | ҆о́нь би́ль прь́ви мч҃итель на земли | He was the first tyrant on the Earth. | 
| 34: | ҆ѡнь заградил вавило́нь грáдь | He built the city of Babylon. | 
| 35: | ҆и цр҃ьствꙋвáль ва не́го | And he ruled there as a king. | 
| 36: | ҆ѡнь поче́ль да прáви сребро̀ ҆и злато на парѝ ҆и на гроше́ве | He began to process silver and gold into (golden and silver) coins. | 
| 37: | ҆ѡнь поче́ль во́йскꙋ да ди́га | He began to raise armies. | 
| 38: | ҆ѡнь почел зло̀ нá земли твори́ти | He began to do evil on the Earth. | 
| 39: | то́й бг҃опроти́вень невро́ть призовáль чл҃ве́ци, що би́ли нá земли | That God-resisting Nimrod invited men, who were on the Earth. | 
| 40: | ҆и рекль ҆имь | And he said to them: | 
| 41: | да загр҆áдїме се́бе стль́пь на зе́мли | ʺLet us build a pillar (tower) on the Earth!ʺ | 
| 42: | да ѐ висо́кь до нб҃са | ʺMay it be high up to the heavens!ʺ | 
| 43: | ҆áко бꙋ́де пáки пото́пь ҆или ҆о́гнь на зе́мли | ʺIf there will be flood or fire again on Earth,ʺ | 
| да не мо́жеть бг҃ь да нѝ погꙋ́бить | ʺso that God will not be able to destroy us,ʺ | |
| кáто какво̀ погꙋбѝ прьви чл҃веци нá земли | ʺas He destroyed the first men on the Earth.ʺ | |
| 44: | тако́й мисли́ль, бг҃опроти́вни невро́ть | Thus thought the God-resisting Nimrod. | 
| 45: | ҆и послꙋшáли го свѝ чл҃ве́ци | And all the people obeyed him. | 
| 46: | ҆и загради́ли стль́пь | And they built the tower. | 
| 47: | ҆и трꙋ-ди́ли се, за, ·м· ле́та | And they worked hard for 40 years. | 
| 48: | ҆и зазидáли го висо́ко до ҆ѡблаци, | And they built it high, up to the heavens. | 
| 49: | ҆едни падáли ѿ си́лень ветрь | Some were falling because of the strong wind. | 
| 50: | ҆и прибивали́ се | And they were (thus) getting killed. | 
| 51: | ҆á дрꙋги ѿ сльнце ҆и ѿ зима ꙋмирáли | And others were dying from the sun and the cold. | 
| 52: | ҆и падаль ҆ѡ́нáй граде́жь ѿ ве́трь | And that construction was falling apart because of the wind. | 
| 53: | ҆и безь чи́сла чл҃веци погинáли на ҆ѡно́ва ме́сто | And countless people perished on that place. | 
| 54: | ҆á невроть не престáнꙋль ѿ своѐ ѕло̀ нáвикнове́нїе | But Nimrod did not stop, because of his bad habits. | 
| 55: | ҆и сакáль да зи́да ҆ѡни стль́пь до нб҃са | And he wanted to build the tower up to the heavens. | 
| 56: | но бг҃ь мл͒рьди виде́ль безь҆ꙋмие ҆и прель́сть чл҃веческа какво́ се трꙋди залꙋдꙋ | But the merciful God saw the mindlessness and deceit of man, how he works in vain. | 
| 57: | ҆и забрани́ль ҆имь бг҃ь | And God prevented them (from continuing), | 
| да се не проти́вать | so that they would not work against (Him), | |
| ҆и да се не пре́льщáють | and so that they would not deceive themselves. | |
| 58: | ҆и свѐ тамо ҆имь раздели бг҃ь ҆ꙗ́зи́ци | And God divided the tongues of all there. | 
| 59: | ҆и ҆ѡнай прь́ви ҆ꙗ́зикь свѝ забꙋвари́ша ҆еди́нь дрꙋгомꙋ що гово́рить | And all forgot that first language, (by) which one was speaking to another. | 
| 60: | збрькáхꙋ се | They got confused. | 
| 61: | ҆и ҆ѡстави́хꙋ ҆ѡн҆ꙗ́ стль́пь да не прáвать | And they stopped working on the tower. | 
| 62: | ҆и раздели́ли се ҆ези́ци | And the nations (languages) separated (from each other). | 
| 63: | на си́мово пле́ме ·ке· | (They separated into) 25 (nations) of the tribe of Shem. | 
| 64: | на хамово пле́ме ·лв· ҆е́зи́ци | (And they separated into) 32 (nations) of the tribe of Ham. | 
| 65: | товà хáмово пле́ме прокле́ль но҆ꙗ́ ҆о́ц҃ь хáмовь | Noah, Ham's father, cursed that tribe of Ham. | 
| 66: | ҆ѡ́но се нáй мло́го било̀ ꙋмложи́ло | It had multiplied the most. | 
| 67: | ѿ не́гѡ́ нàй мрь́сни ро́дове ҆и ези́ци про҆изи-шлѝ | From him, the most dirty nations originated. | 
| 68: | ҆и афетово пле́ме раздели́ло се на ·еı· ҆ези́ци | And the tribe of Japheth separated into 15 nations. | 
| 69: | ҆и тако сáсь бж҃иемь повеленїемь пошло си́мово племе | And thus, by the will of God, went the Shem's tribe on. | 
| 70: | ҆и ҆ѡстáло н҆á ѡзию | And it remained in Asia. | 
| 71: | х҆амово пле́ме ҆ѡстáло на ҆африкїю | Tribe of Ham remained in Africa. | 
| 72: | но мно́го билѝ ҆ѡстáли, на ҆ѡ́зию | But many had remained in Asia. | 
| 73: | ҆и ꙋмно́жили се нá ·лз· цр͒тва, | And they multiplied into 37 kingdoms. | 
| 74: | по́сле потреби́ли ҆и евре́й ҆и иїс͒а нави́и́на ѿ ҆ѡна҆ꙗ́ земл҆ꙗ́ | Afterwards, the Hebrews removed (them), and Jesus of Naue, from that land. | 
| 75: | ҆и наследи́ли ҆евреи зе́млю хана҆áню | And the Hebrews inherited the land of Canaan. | 
| 76: | ҆и ꙋби́ли си҆ѡ́на цр҃а ҆áморе́иска ҆и ҆ѡгà цр҃а васан͛ска ҆и всà, цр͒твї҆ꙗ́ хана҆áн͛ска | And they killed Sihon, King of Amorrea, and Og, King of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan. | 
| 77: | хана҆áнь ҆е́ би́ль, си́нь хáмовь | Canaan was the son of Ham. | 
| 78: | него́во се племе било зовало пле́ме хана҆áн͛ско | His tribe was called tribe of Canaan. | 
| 79: | нáй про́клето нá земли ѿ свѝ пле́мена | (It is) the most accursed one on the Earth of all the tribes. | 
| 80: | на се́дмь ҆ези-ци било̀ | It was (including) seven nations. | 
| 81: | ѿ не́го са ҆и ци́гане те | From him are the Gypsies too. | 
| 82: | ти́҆ꙗ́, се҆дмь ҆е́зи́ци на ·лз· цр͒тва билѝ побили́ ги | (The Hebrews) had destroyed those seven nations of 37 kingdoms. | 
| 83: | ҆и ҆искарáли ги ҆евре́й | And the Hebrews removed them. | 
| 84: | ҆и ꙋзели ѿ ни́хь палести́ню ҆и ерл͒мь | And they took Palestine and Jerusalem from them. | 
| 85: | та҆ꙗ́ землꙗ ҆испрьво бе́ше ю бг҃ь ҆ѡбрекль ҆áвраàмꙋ | God first had promised that land to Abraham. | 
| 86: | ҆и даль ю по́сле на ҆евре́й | And He gave it later to the Hebrews. | 
| 87: | ҆á дрꙋги не́кой мꙋ́жь би́ло мꙋ ҆име ҆еверь ѿ си́мовь ро́дь би́ль | And there was another man in the tribe of Shem, whose name was Eber. | 
| 88: | ҆и не послꙋшáль невро́та | He did not listen to Nimrod. | 
| 89: | ҆и не ҆ишель на него́вь до́мь | And he did not go to his house. | 
| 90: | нї е помагáль невро́тꙋ да грáди ҆они́ стль́пь, | Neither did he help Nimrod to build that tower. | 
| 91: | защо́ се бо҆еше ѿ бг҃а ҆еверь | Because Eber feared God. | 
| 92: | ҆и аврáмь ѿ него́вь ро́дь бе́ше | And Abraham was from his kin. | 
| 93: | ҆и по негово ҆име еве́рь наре́кли се ҆евреи ҆и до дне́ска | And by his name, Eber, are the Hebrews called up to this day. | 
| 94: | ҆и евре́йски ро́дь ѿ ҆áфетово племе, бе́ше | And the Hebrew nation was from the tribe of Japheth (?) | 
| 95: | ҆и преишли свѝ чрь́ное море ҆и бе́лое | And they all crossed the Black and White Seas. | 
| 96: | ҆и населили́ се на землю ҆евро́тꙋ | And they settled in the land of Europe. | 
| 97: | ҆имáль ҆áфеть ҆едного си́на | Japheth had a son. | 
| 98: | зовáлї го мо́схось | They called him Meshech. | 
| 99: | ҆и пошлѝ на полꙋ́нощна стрáна где́то е сьгà москов͛ска земл҆ꙗ́; | And (the tribe of Meshech?) | 
| 100: | ҆и тамо що ймаше во́да ҆и водá та наре́кли мо́сква ре́ка | And the water, which was there, they called (by Meshech) River Moscow. | 
| 101: | ҆и населили се тамо | And they settled there. | 
| 102: | ҆и после начини́ли го грáдь | And then they made a city out of it (?) | 
| 103: | ҆и поставили тáмо пр͒толь цр͒ки | And they placed a royal seat there. | 
| 104: | ҆и порадѝ то наре́кли се москáле ҆и до дне́сь | And because of that they called themselves Muscovites until today. | 
| 105: | ҆и кр͒ти ги ст҃и кири́ль ҆и меѳо́диа | And Sts. Cyril and Methodius baptized them. | 
| 106: | ҆и порадѝ то наре́кли нáши кни́ги ҆и род ҆и ези́кь славен͛ски ро́дь | And for that (reason) they called our literature, and nation, and language a Slavic nation. | 
| 107: | ҆ѡни най право ҆и на чи́сто гово́рать | They speak most correctly and most purely. | 
| 108: | ҆и много ре́чи подо́бни на бльгар͛ски ҆езикь беседат † | And they speak many words similar to (those of) Bulgarian language. | 
| 109: | Пи́ше кни́га за бль́гаре | The book writes about Bulgarians: | 
| 110: | стрáшни ҆и сил͛ни би́ли на т҆о́ꙗ ст҃ь | They were terrible and powerful in this world. | 
| 111: | мáль народь се зове | It is called a small nation. | 
| 112: | ҆áли не можел ни ҆еди́нь цр҃ь грьчески да ймь надви́е | But not a single Greek king could defeat them. | 
| 113: | тако́й пишꙋть ҆и грьци ҆ꙋ нихни кни́ги | Thus the Greeks, too, write in their books: | 
| 114: | бль́гаре ди́ви, | ʺBulgars (are) wild.ʺ | 
| 115: | ҆и не страшли́ви на бо́й | ʺAnd (they are) fearless in combat.ʺ | 
| 116: | но ҆и тешки народ бльгар͛ски не победи́мых ва брáнехь | ʺBut also the Bulgarian nation (is) hard, (composed of men?) invincible in battle.ʺ | 
| 117: | мло́го пáкости чини́ли грь́комь ҆и римл҆ꙗ́номь | They did many raids (?) against Greeks and Romans. | 
| 118: | защо тако ре́кохꙋ грьци че сꙋ бль́гаре дивѝ ҆и не страшли́ви на бо́й | That is why (?) the Greeks said, that Bulgars are wild and fearless in combat. | 
| 119: | и ва мало време станáхꙋ бль́гаре на землю грь́ческꙋю | And Bulgars stepped in a short time on the land of the Greeks. | 
| 120: | ҆и чини́хꙋ пáкость грькомь | And they raided the Greeks. | 
| 121: | ҆и зато стáнꙋ цр҃ь грь́чки ꙋ҆ален͛ть сась войскꙋ на ни́хь | And for that (reason) the Greek Emperor Valens rose up with an army against them. | 
| 122: | но сáсь помощь бж҃їю надви́ли бль́гари цр҃ꙋ ꙋален͛тꙋ | But with the help of God, Bulgars defeated Emperor Valens. | 
| 123: | ҆á ѡнь побе́галь да би ꙋте́каль | But he ran away (lit. to flee). | 
| 124: | ҆ѡни́ го гони́ли до ҆едрене́ | They pursued him up to Adrianople. | 
| 125: | ҆ѡнь се скрил сась неговáго вези́ра ꙋ еднꙋ пле́вницꙋ | And he hid himself with his vizier in a barn. | 
| 126: | ҆и ҆ѡнѝ запали́ли ҆ѡ́нꙋю пле́вницꙋ | And they set that barn on fire. | 
| 127: | ҆и ҆и-згоре́ль цр҃ь грь́чки ꙋален͛ть сась него́ваго вези́ра | And Valens, the Greek Emperor, burned with his vizier. | 
| 128: | тако́й пише ва де҆ꙗ́нїе егѡ̀ | Thus it is written in his biography. | 
| 129: | тако ҆и било ҆есть не ль́жно, | Thus it truly was (?) | 
| 130: | Зрѝ де҆ꙗ́нїе ҆ихь чи̇тáтелю | Behold their acts, o reader! | 
| 131: | ҆и познай ҆истинꙋ что зде́ вь крат͛це написа-хомь. | And know the truth, which we have written in short here. | 
| 132: | Бáтоꙗ крáль сил͛ни ҆и хрáбри сїиречь ҆юнакь на бо́й | King Batoi, powerful and brave, that is heroical, in combat, | 
| ꙋзель землю ѿ ни́шка дрьжáва ҆и скоп͛ска ҆и ѡͯрит͛ска ҆и патри́ар͛шїꙗ | (he) took the land from the country of Naissos, and of Skopje, and of Ohrid, and (of?) the Patriarchate. | |
| 133: | ҆и постави́ль сто́ль ва ҆ѡͯрить грáдь | And he built a throne in the city of Ohrid. | 
| 134: | ҆и триве́лїа ст҃и крал би́ль | And (there was) Tervel (, who) was a holy king. | 
| 135: | ꙋзель вьса маџáрска зе́млꙗ | He took all the Hungarian land. | 
| 136: | ҆издáлї ю бльгáри | Bulgarians gave it over (?) | 
| 137: | за мно́га лета давáли маџáри дáнокь | For many years, Magyars were paying the tribute. | 
| 138: | паки цр҃ь крꙋнь ҆и ҆и михáйль ꙋзели ѿ грь́ци дрьжáвꙋ софи́скꙋ ҆и филибели́скꙋ ҆и самоко́вскꙋ ҆и щип͛скꙋ ҆и стрꙋми́цꙋ ҆и едренѐ | Again, Emperor Krum and Michael took from the Greeks the counties of Sofia, and Filibe, and Samokov, and Shtip, and Strumitsa, and Edirne. | 
| 139: | ҆и на-сели́ли по ти́а стрáни бль́гар͛ски, наро́дь | And they settled the Bulgarian people around those lands. | 
| 140: | ҆и седꙋть бль́гаре тáмо ҆и до дне͒ | And Bulgars live there until today. | 
| 141: | По́сле ҆иѡань калимань си́нь цр҃ь ҆áсе́новь ꙋзе́ль ѿ грь́ци дрьжáва драм͛ска ҆и сер͛ска ҆и мелниш͛ка ҆и солꙋнска | Afterwards, Ivan Kaliman, son of the King Asen, took from the Greeks the counties of Drama, Serres, Melnik and Salonica. | 
| 142: | ҆и ҆искарáль ѿ тамо грь́ци | And he expelled the Greeks from there. | 
| 143: | ҆и насели́ли се бль́гари | And Bulgars settled there. | 
| 144: | такои ҆и до дне́сь по ѡнїа земли живе́ют бль́гаре | Thus, Bulgars live on those lands until today. |

| 146: | вь ле́то ·ун· нападнахꙋ дрꙋ́гаго вар͛да крáлꙗ що бе́ше ҆изби́ль де́веть хи́лꙗди бльгаре | In year 450 they attacked another king, Dagobert (?), who had killed nine thousand Bulgars. | 
| 147: | ҆и надвили мꙋ сась бо̆и | And they defeated him in combat. | 
| 148: | ҆и ѡплени́ли, всꙋ неговꙋ землю | And they pillaged all of his land. | 
| 149: | ҆и после ҆имали бльгаре дрꙋгаго кнеза себе драги́ча | And afterwards Bulgars had another prince, Dragich. | 
| 150: | ҆и падли на фрáнгїю ҆и на ҆алерика | And they attacked France and Illyria. | 
| 151: | и раззби́ли воискꙋ грь́ческꙋю | And they crushed the Greek army. | 
| 152: | ҆и поби́ли ·у· хил҆ꙗ́ди грь́ци | And they killed 400 thousand Greeks. | 
| 153: | и ѡпленїли млого зе́млю ҆и народь грь́чески | And they pillaged a lot of land and Greek people. | 
| 154: | ҆и после се ꙋбо҆ꙗ́ль, цр҃ь ҆áнастáсїа | And afterwards, Emperor Anastasius became afraid. | 
| 155: | ҆и пратиль много сребро̀ ҆и злáто бльгаромь ҆и дари мно́гоцени́ | And he sent a lot of silver and gold to Bulgars, as well as precious gifts. | 
| 156: | ҆и ҆испроси́ль се́бе мирь | And he begged out peace for himself. | 
| 157: | пáки то́й драги́чь ꙋзимáль данокь ѿ грьческаго цр҃а ҆анастасию † | Again, that Dragich was taking tax from the Greek Emperor Anastasius. | 
| 158: | После по ҆áнастáсїꙗ цр҃а настанꙋл͛ сꙋл͛тань сꙋлимáнь тꙋр͛ски | After Emperor Anastasius, Sulayman, Sultan of Turks rose up. |

| 235: | ҆и тако станꙋль сась, десеть хил҆ꙗ́ди войскꙋ противꙋ грь́ци що би́ли ·о· хил҆ꙗ́ди | And thus he stood with an army of ten thousand against Greeks, who were 70 thousand. |

| 506: | тáко ҆и писме́на ҆и кни́ги славе́нскиа произидо́ша вь чте́нїе | Then (lit. thus) also the Slavic letters and books started to be read. |

| 508: | ҆á за срьбие пише како сꙋ били подь папа рим͛скаго | And it is written about Serbs, that they were under the Pope of Rome. |

| 510: | никáко не ймать писано ни ꙋ лати́ни ни ꙋ грь́чески летопихци за срь́бие ꙋ кое време кр͒ти́ли ги римл҆ꙗ́не | It is not written neither among Latins, nor among Greek chroniclers about Serbs, when the Romans baptized them. |

| 515: | По́сле ст҃и сава ҆áрхиеп͒копь си́нь неманїевь вь ле́то ·҂арч· ҆ѡбратиль ве́сь наро́дь на правослáвною ве́рꙋ | Afterwards, St. Sava, the archbishop, son of Nemanja, converted the whole nation to the Orthodox faith in the year 1190. |

| 522: | но бль́гаре прїима ги бл҃го́говено | But Bulgars accept them piously. | 
| 523: | ҆и почитáют ги за ҆ар͛хиере́й | And they respect them as archbishops. | 
| 524: | ҆и сꙋгꙋбо плащáють имь дль́жное, | And they pay them their due twice. | 
| 525: | зато по них͛на простотà ҆и незлобие воспрїимꙋть ѿ бг҃а м͛здꙋ | Thus, for their simplicity and meekness, they will receive a reward from God. | 
| 526: | тако ҆и ѡни ҆áрхиере́й сась тꙋрска си́ла насилꙋють ҆á не сáсь, ҆áр͛хиерейское прáвило | Thus, those archbishops violate them with Turkish power, and not with the authority of an archbishop. | 
| 527: | тво́рать бль́гаромь вели́ка ҆ѡби́да ҆и наси́лие | They do a great insult and injury to Bulgars. | 
| 528: | ҆и ѡнѝ по своѐ дело ҆и безьслове́стїе воспрїймꙋть м͛здꙋ, свою̀ ѿ бг҃а по рече́номꙋ | And they will, for their deed and speechlessness, receive their reward from God, as it is said: |
