17: | i bgъ mltivi skoro zaprati aggela svoego | And soon, the merciful God sent His angel. |
18: | i javi se na snъ avimelexu cru | And he appeared to King Abimelech in dream. |
19: | i reče mu | And he said to him: |
20: | onaja žena što si ju uzelъ ot onogova čuždinъca člveka | ʺThat woman, which you have taken from that foreigner,ʺ |
skoro da mu ju pratiš | ʺmay you return her to him soon!ʺ | |
21: | i crъ pomisli | And the king thought. |
22: | i reče aggelu | And he said to the angel: |
23: | onja čuždinecъ reče | ʺThat foreigner said:ʺ |
24: | sestra mi e taja žena | ʺThat woman is my sister.ʺ |
25: | ta zatova mu ju i ja uzexъ | ʺThus I took her from him.ʺ |
26: | no ja nikakvo ne pružixъ ruku moju na nju | ʺBut I did not stretch my hand on her in any way.ʺ |
27: | i prosti me angele bžii | ʺAnd forgive me, o angel of God!ʺ |
28: | zašto ne sotvorix dobro | ʺFor I did not do (what is) good.ʺ |
29: | ta ju uzexъ | ʺAs (?) I took her.ʺ |
30: | i samъ gdъ javi se cru na snъ | And the Lord himself appeared to the king in a dream. |
31: | i reče | And He said: |
32: | razberi se cru da ne oskrъbišъ onogova člveka | ʺTake care (?), o king, so that you don't make that man sad.ʺ |
33: | zašto koi oskrъbi togova stranago člveka mene oskrъbuetъ | ʺBecause who makes that strange man sad, will make Me sad.ʺ |
34: | zašto e toja člvekъ prorokъ | ʺBecause that man is a prophet,ʺ |
35: | i na vasaki denъ molitъ se mene za vasi ljudie | ʺAnd he prays to me every day for all people,ʺ |
i za tebe cru da si živъ na mnoga leta | ʺand for you (too), o king, so that you are alive for many years.ʺ | |
36: | ako li mu ne dadešъ ženu tu skoro xoštešъ umreti i svi te tvoi srodnici | ʺIf you won't give him the woman (back), you will soon die, (and) all your relatives too.ʺ |
37: | no da mu dadešъ stopanicu | ʺBut may you give him (his) wife!ʺ |
38: | i da go početešъ | ʺAnd honor him!ʺ |
39: | i da go daruvašъ | ʺAnd give him presents!ʺ |
40: | kogi se razbudi crъ ot sъnъ uplaši se zle ot sъnъ što beše videlъ | When the king woke up from the dream, he became very afraid from the dream, which he had seen. |
41: | i skoro zaprati slugi | And, soon, he sent servants. |
42: | i dovedoxu avrama predъ cra | And they brought Abraham in front of the king. |
43: | i reče mu crъ | And the king said to him: |
44: | zašto takoi sъtvori člveče bii | ʺWhy did you do so, o man of God?ʺ |
45: | i privelъ esi na mene srъdъbu bžiju | ʺYou have thus brought wrath of God on me.ʺ |
46: | i ništo ne bexъ ti sogrešilъ | ʺAnd I had not done you any harm!ʺ |
47: | togiva avramъ reče | Then, Abraham said: |
48: | cru na čuždu zemlju bex | ʺO king, I was in a strange land.ʺ |
49: | i ubojaxъ se ot samrъtъ | ʺAnd I feared death.ʺ |
50: | zatova rekoxъ | ʺThat is why I said:ʺ |
51: | sestra mi e | ʺShe is my sister.ʺ |
52: | togiva se crъ umilostivi na dumi te avramovi | Then, the king became merciful, because of the words of Abraham, |
i na negovo smirenie i na mltivъ pogledъ avramovъ | as well as his peacefulness and merciful stare of Abraham. | |
53: | i dade mu crъ *#a* žlъtici | And the king gave him 1000 gold coins. |
54: | i dade mu ovъci *#a* | And he gave to him 1000 sheep. |
55: | i ot svekakva stoka mu dade | And he gave him from all kinds of goods. |
56: | i dade mu robie i robinъki | And he gave him (male and female) servants. |
57: | i dade mu saru negovu stopanicu | And he gave him Sarah, his wife. |
58: | i mlogo nešto daruva crъ avramu | And the king gave many (other) things as gifts to Abraham. |
59: | i reče mu | And he said to him: |
60: | ljubimiče avrame koe ti mesto xarekše tamo da sedišъ da se veselišъ | ʺO Abraham, my beloved, whichever place you like, stay there to be happy!ʺ |
61: | i da ti dadem golema volja nikoi tebe da ne ozlobitъ | ʺAnd may I give you great power, so that no one becomes hostile against you.ʺ |
62: | i zaradi avrama daruva bgъ mlogo leta cru avimelexu | And, because of Abraham, God gave many years (of life) to King Abimelech. |
63: | takoi vosxote bgъ | Thus God wanted. |
64: | i takoi sotvori | And thus He had done. |
65: | vidite li xrtiani koito se nadejutъ na milostivago bga kakvo imъ bgъ skoro pomognetъ | Do you see, o Christians, how soon God helps those, who set their hopes on the merciful God? |
66: | i lesno bgъ obogatva človeka koi xodi po zakonъ bžii | And God easily makes rich the man, who walks by the Law of God. |
67: | i samъ gdъ reče | And Lord Himself said: |
68: | avrame izlezni ot zemlju tvoju i ot roditele tvoi | ʺO Abraham, leave your (home)land and your parents!ʺ |
69: | i ja xoštemъ da budemъ sasъ tebe | ʺAnd I will be with you.ʺ |
70: | i xoštemъ te nastaviti gde xočešъ do starosti živeti | ʺAnd I will direct you, where you will live until old age.ʺ |
71: | i dade mu bgъ ne izrečeno dobro u ruke | And God gave him unspeakable goods into (his) hands. |
72: | i sede | And he sat. |
73: | i veseli se dogde ostare | And he was happy, until he became old. |
74: | i kogi ostare ◄ avramъ pomisli da oženi sina svoego iisaka | And when he became old, Abraham thought about wedding his son Isaac. |
75: | i sakaše da uzme sinu svoemu nevestu ot roda xananeiska | And he wanted to take a bride of the Canaanite kin for his son. |

77: | i prizova ednogo vernago sluga svoego | And he summoned one of his loyal servants. |
78: | zašto avramъ imaše *tii* robie | Because Abraham had 318 servants. |
79: | i reče tomuva vernomu slugu | And he said to that loyal servant, |
da idetъ u potamiju u baštinu drъžavu avramovu | to go to (Meso)potamia, to the fatherland of Abraham, | |
da izbere nevestu za iisaka | to choose a bride for Isaac. | |
80: | vidite li | Do you see? |
81: | va staro vreme ne sakaxu mlogo boljarstvo člveku niti xubava premena | In old times, they did not want pride/noble origin (from) a man, nor nice clothes. |
82: | no sakaxu dševna xubostъ da imatъ | But they wanted him to have beauty of the soul, |
i ot dobra roda da bude | and to be from a good family, | |
i ot mъnečko da e učeno na zakonъ bžii | and to be taught from smallest (childhood) to Law of God. | |
83: | i dade avramъ na verъnago sluga tri kamili | And Abraham gave three camels to the loyal servant. |
84: | i natovari na kamili te nekoliko dari | And he loaded some presents on the camels. |
85: | i dade mu dva raba | And he gave him two servants. |
86: | pa kogi poide verъnio sluga onъ reče | And when the loyal servant went, he said: |
87: | gdine avrame gde mogu azъ izbrati nevestu koja šte tebe biti ugodna | ʺO lord Abraham, where can I find a bride, which would be pleasing to you?ʺ |
88: | togiva reče avramъ | Abraham then said: |
89: | ti otidi | ʺYou (just) go!ʺ |
90: | i bgъ xoštetъ izbrati | ʺAnd God will chose.ʺ |
91: | i otide sluga va gradъ naxorъ gdeto beše bratъ avramovъ | And the servant went to the city of Nahor, where the brother of Abraham was (living). |
92: | i stanu sluga sasъ kamili te na krai gradъ pri edinъ kledenecъ | And the servant stopped with his camels at the edge of the city next to a well. |
93: | i moleše se bgu | And he prayed to God. |
94: | i takoi dumaše | And thus he spoke: |
95: | bže avramovъ isakovo molenie isplъni i avramu gdinu moemu | ʺO God of Abraham, fulfill the prayers of Isaac and Abraham, my master!ʺ |
96: | takoi se bgu pomoli sluga avraamov | Thus prayed the servant of Abraham to God. |
97: | i doide devica reveka na kladenecъ da črъpetъ vodu | And the maiden Rebecca came to the well to draw water. |
98: | a onja sluga avramov sakaše da ispita devicu | And that servant of Abraham wanted to test the maiden, |
da vidi dali ima smireno srdce i pokorenie | to see, whether she has a peaceful heart and humbleness, | |
i čuždinъci dali miluva | and whether she is merciful to strangers. | |
99: | i reče i sluga | And the servant said to her: |
100: | dai mi device vodu da se napiemъ | ʺO maiden, give us water, so that we drink a bit!ʺ |
101: | i ona skoro dade mu vodu | And soon she gave him water. |
102: | i napi se | And he drank. |
103: | i paki reče i | And, again, he said to her: |
104: | device naplъni korito da pijutъ i kamili te | ʺO maiden, fill the trough, so that the camels can drink too!ʺ |
105: | i paki skoro naplъni korito | And again, she quickly filled the trough. |
106: | napoi i kamili te | And she gave drink to the camels too. |
107: | togiva se počudixu avramovi te člveci koliko e razumna bila devica reveka | Then the Abraham's men were amazed, how prudent is the maiden Rebecca. |
108: | kogi vidoxu če e dobroumna devica oni počexu da ju pituvatъ | As they saw, that she is a well-minded maiden, they began to ask her: |
109: | imaš li oca ti device | ʺO maiden, do you have a father?ʺ |
110: | ona reče | She said: |
111: | imam i oca i maiku | ʺI have both a father and a mother.ʺ |
112: | a imate li mesto za na i za kamili te | (And they said:) ʺDo you have place for us and the camels?ʺ |
113: | ona veselo produma | She answered happily: |
114: | imamo mesto i za vasъ i za kamili t | ʺWe have place for both you and the camels.ʺ |
115: | i po tova ju poznaxu če xoče da bude nevesta isaaku sinu avramovu | Then they recognized (?) her, that she will be the bride of Isaac, son of Abraham. |
116: | i paki pita ju avramovъ sluga | And again, the servant of Abraham asked her: |
117: | kakvo e ime ocu tvoemu device | ʺWhat is the name of your father, o maiden?ʺ |
118: | ona reče | She said: |
119: | ocu moemu ime e tatuilъ melъxeovъ | ʺMy father's name is Bethuel, (son) of Milcah.ʺ |
120: | i paki pita ju sluga avramovъ | And again the servant of Abraham asked her: |
121: | a imate li xrana za kamili te | ʺAnd do you have fodder for the camels?ʺ |
122: | a ona reče | And she said: |
123: | i xrana imamo | ʺWe have fodder,ʺ |
124: | i mesto široko imamo | ʺand we have a lot of space.ʺ |
125: | toko vie doidete na domъ našъ | ʺYou just come to our house!ʺ |
126: | vidite li kakva nauka imaše ot baštu i ot maiku devica reveka | Do you see, what teaching had the maiden Rebecca from (her) father and mother? |
127: | da znaete kakva beše xubava devica reveka | May you know, how beautiful the maiden Rebecca was! |
128: | vidite li s kakvo srebro i zlato bexa ju premenili noini roditele | Do you see, with what kind of silver and gold her parents had adorned her? |
129: | kogi doide devica reveka ot kladenecъ ostavi vodu u xižu | When maiden Rebecca came home from the well, she left the water in the house. |
130: | i doidoxu onija čuždinъci | And those strangers came. |
131: | i stanaxu predъ vrata domu | And they stood in front of the doors of the house. |
132: | izleze reveka | Rebecca went out. |
133: | i pokloni se predъ nixъ | And she bowed in front of them. |
134: | i reče imъ | And she said to them: |
135: | gospodine što stoite tuka | ʺGentlemen, why do you stand here?ʺ |

137: | kogi ulezoxu onija člveci u domъ reveka prinese vodu | When those men entered the house, Rebecca brought water. |
138: | i omi im noze te | And she washed their feet. |
139: | i priniknu | And she leaned closer. |
140: | i celova imъ noze te | And she kissed their feet. |
141: | i prinese trъpeza | And she brought a table. |
142: | i reče sluga ta avramovъ na noinago oca | And the Abraham's servant said to her father: |
143: | člveče bžii imamo nešto da ti rečemo | ʺO man of God, we have something to tell you.ʺ |
144: | pa togiva složete trъpeza | ʺPlace the table afterwards!ʺ |
145: | a bašta i reče | And her father said: |
146: | što štete da mi rečete | ʺWhat are you going to tell me?ʺ |
147: | oni rekoxu | They said: |
148: | znaete li avrama | ʺDo you know Abraham?ʺ |
149: | i ѳatuilъ reče | And Bethuel said: |
150: | mlogo člveci podъ nbsa ima | ʺThere are many people under the sky.ʺ |
151: | i ne znaemo nię avraama | ʺAnd we don't know Abraham.ʺ |
152: | nie smo ot nego doprateni | (The servants said:) ʺWe have been sent by him.ʺ |
153: | i reče ni da mu naidemo nevestu za sina svoego isaka | ʺAnd he told us to find a bride for his son Isaac.ʺ |
154: | i tvoe čedo naidoxme na kladenecъ | ʺAnd we found your child at the well.ʺ |
155: | i produma namъ mirъni reči | ʺAnd she told us words of peace.ʺ |
156: | ako bude volja bžia da budetъ | ʺIf it is the will of God, may she be (...)ʺ |
157: | togiva produma ocъ devici | Then the maiden's father spoke up. |
158: | i reče | And He said: |
159: | koi xoče zabraniti svoe čedo ot takovo mesto | ʺWho would prevent his child from (going to?) such a place?ʺ |
160: | togiva izvadixu onija darove što gi nosexu ot avrama | Then they took out the presents, which they were carrying from Abraham. |
161: | i dadoxu devici | And they gave (the presents) to the maiden. |
162: | i daruvaxu i baštu i maiku devicinu i svi te srodnici revekini | And they gave presents to the father and the mother of the maiden, and to all the relatives of Rebecca. |
163: | i razdadoxu darove te | And (thus) they gave the presents. |

165: | jadoxu i pixu dovolъno | They ate and drank as much as they wanted. |

169: | oče ako ti zapovedašъ ja ne štemъ pogaziti tvoju blagu dumu | ʺO father, if you command, I will not transgress your good word.ʺ |
170: | togiva ju blgoslovi ocъ | Then the father blessed her. |

172: | ot bga da budešъ blgoslovena edinorodnoe moe čedo | ʺMay you be blessed by God, o my only born child!ʺ |

174: | i što se porodi ot tebe i ono da bude blgosloveno ot mltivago bga | ʺAnd, what is born by yourself, may it be blessed by the merciful God too!ʺ |
175: | i celuva reveka desnicu ocu svoemu | And Rebecca kissed his father's right hand. |
176: | i ukači se na kamilu | And she mounted a camel. |

187: | i xodi peši dogde priide blizu pri iisaka | And she went on foot, until she came close to Isaac. |
188: | i pokloni mu se do zemlju | And she bowed to him to the ground. |
189: | i celiva mu desnicu | And she kissed his right hand. |
190: | i onъ ju fanu za ruku | And he took her by hand. |

197: | i prizova siroti i siromasi | And he invited poor women and poor men. |
198: | i gosti gi | And he made them his guests. |
199: | i napoi gi | And he gave them drinks. |
200: | i mlogo imъ milostinja dade | And he gave them a lot of alms. |
201: | i reče avramъ na sirotici te i na siromasi te | And Abraham said to the poor women and poor men: |
202: | o sozdanie bžie molete se i vie mltivomu bgu za sina moego iisaka i za reveku isakovu nevestu | ʺO creatures of God, you, too, pray to the merciful God for my son Isaac, and for Rebecca, the bride of Isaac!ʺ |
203: | i onija siromasi blgodarixu bga | And those poor ones thanked God. |
204: | i blgslovixu mladenъci isaka i reveku | And they blessed the young (?) Isaac and Rebecca. |
205: | i dade im bgъ mlogo srebro i zlato | And God gave them a lot of silver and gold. |
206: | i daruva imъ bgъ dni dlъgi i životъ blgъ meždu nixъ | And God gave them long days and a life (full of) happ(iness) between them. |
207: | i dostofalъno počitaxu baštu i maiku | And they respected the father and the mother worthily of praise. |
208: | zašto imъ beše dalъ bgъ razumъ blgъ | Because God had given them great prudence. |
209: | razumexъte li xristijani kakovъ godešъ oni sotvorixu | Did you understand, o Christians, what kind of betrothal they made, |
i kakva ženidba oni otvrъšixu | and what kind of wedding they finished? | |
210: | a nia u naši te vremena pravimo svadъbi sasъ svirъki i sasъ tupane djavolski i sasъ pesni besovъski | And we, in our times, do weddings with flutes, and with devilish drumming, and with demonic songs! |
211: | i nikakva pomoštъ ne ima ot svirъki i ot pesni | And there is no help form flutes and songs. |
212: | i koe blgoslovenie xoštetъ da priidetъ na mladenъci ot svirъki i ot tupane i ot igri i ot pesni demonъski | And what blessing will come to the couple (?) from flutes and drumming and dances and demonic songs? |
213: | no razumeite čisto kakvo sъvrъši avraamъ svadъbu | But understand, how purely (?) made Abraham the wedding! |
214: | tako dlъžni esmi i nię da tvorime | Thus we, too, are obliged to do. |
215: | i da dademo bgu slavu vo veki vekov | And (we are also obliged) to give God glory forever. |
