3: | когѝ прїиде, ҆áвраӑмь ꙋ землю герари́скꙋю ҆и вїдоха мꙋ стопáницꙋ сарꙋ | When Abraham came to the land of Gerar, they saw his wife Sarah. |
4: | ҆и ѡна беше ҆ꙗ́ко хꙋбава на ҆ѡбрáзь | And she was very beautiful in appearance. |
5: | ҆и попитáха го | And they asked him: |
6: | ҆áвраме що ти е таꙗ жѐна | ʺO Abraham, what is that woman to you?ʺ |
7: | ҆á ѡнь ймь ре́че | And he said to them: |
8: | сестра мї е | ʺShe is my sister.ʺ |
9: | ҆и като рече сестра ми е тогива разбра ҆áвимелехь. Цр҃ь | And as he said ʺShe is my sisterʺ, King Abimelech understood. |
10: | ҆и запрати слꙋги сво́й | And he sent his servants. |
11: | ҆и ꙋзе мꙋ сáрꙋ стопáницꙋ, | And he took Sarah, (his) wife, from him. |
12: | тоги́ва прїидохꙋ ҆áвраамꙋ; две скрьби | Then, two sorrows came to Abraham. |
13: | ҆едно | First, |
14: | дости́же ꙋ чꙋждꙋ зе-Млю | he reached a foreign land. |
15: | ҆á дрꙋго | And second, |
16: | ꙋзеха мꙋ стопáницꙋ ̉ | they took his wife. |
17: | и бг҃ь мл͒тиви скоро запрати ҆áг҃гела своего | And soon, the merciful God sent His angel. |
18: | ҆и ҆ꙗ́ви се на снь ҆áвимеле́хꙋ цр҃ꙋ | And he appeared to King Abimelech in dream. |
19: | ҆и рече мꙋ | And he said to him: |
20: | Ѡна҆ꙗ́ жена що сї ю ꙋзель ѿ ѡного́ва чꙋждин͛ца чл҃века | ʺThat woman, which you have taken from that foreigner,ʺ |
скоро да мꙋ ю пратиш | ʺmay you return her to him soon!ʺ | |
21: | ҆и цр҃ь помисли | And the king thought. |
22: | ҆и рече ҆áг҃гелꙋ | And he said to the angel: |
23: | ҆ѡнꙗ чꙋждинець рече | ʺThat foreigner said:ʺ |
24: | сестра мї е таꙗ жена, | ʺThat woman is my sister.ʺ |
25: | та затова мꙋ ю ҆и ҆ꙗ́ ꙋзе́хь | ʺThus I took her from him.ʺ |
26: | но ҆ꙗ́ никакво не прꙋжихь рꙋкꙋ мою на ню̀ | ʺBut I did not stretch my hand on her in any way.ʺ |
27: | ҆и прости́ ме ҆áн҃геле бж҃їй | ʺAnd forgive me, o angel of God!ʺ |
28: | защо не сотворих добро | ʺFor I did not do (what is) good.ʺ |
29: | та ю ꙋзехь | ʺAs (?) I took her.ʺ |
30: | ҆и самь гд͒ь ҆ꙗ́ви се, Цр҃ꙋ на снь | And the Lord himself appeared to the king in a dream. |
31: | ҆и рече | And He said: |
32: | разбери́ се цр҃ꙋ да не ѡскрьбишь ҆о́ногова чл҃века | ʺTake care (?), o king, so that you don't make that man sad.ʺ |
33: | защо ко́й ҆ѡскрьби тогова стрáнаго чл҃века мене ҆ѡскрьбꙋеть | ʺBecause who makes that strange man sad, will make Me sad.ʺ |
34: | защо е то҆ꙗ чл҃векь, пророкь | ʺBecause that man is a prophet,ʺ |
35: | ҆и на васаки де́нь моли́т͛ се мене за васѝ людїе | ʺAnd he prays to me every day for all people,ʺ |
҆и за тебе цр҃ꙋ да си жи́вь на мно́га ле́та | ʺand for you (too), o king, so that you are alive for many years.ʺ | |
36: | ҆áко ли мꙋ не дадешь женꙋ́ тꙋ скоро хо́щешь ꙋмре́ти ҆и сви те тво́й сродници | ʺIf you won't give him the woman (back), you will soon die, (and) all your relatives too.ʺ |
37: | но да мꙋ даде́шь стопаницꙋ | ʺBut may you give him (his) wife!ʺ |
38: | ҆и да го почетешь | ʺAnd honor him!ʺ |
39: | ҆и да го дарꙋвашь | ʺAnd give him presents!ʺ |
40: | коги се разбꙋди цр҃ь ѿ сьнь ꙋплаши се зле ѿ сьнь що беше видель | When the king woke up from the dream, he became very afraid from the dream, which he had seen. |
41: | ҆и скоро запрати слꙋги | And, soon, he sent servants. |
42: | ҆и доведохꙋ ҆áврама предь цр҃а | And they brought Abraham in front of the king. |
43: | ҆и рече мꙋ цр҃ь | And the king said to him: |
44: | защо такои сьтвори чл҃вече бї҃и | ʺWhy did you do so, o man of God?ʺ |
45: | ҆и привель еси на ме́не срьд͛бꙋ бж҃ию; | ʺYou have thus brought wrath of God on me.ʺ |
46: | ҆и нищо не бех͛ ти согреши́ль | ʺAnd I had not done you any harm!ʺ |
47: | тогива ҆áврамь ре́че | Then, Abraham said: |
48: | цр҃ꙋ на чꙋждꙋ землю бех | ʺO king, I was in a strange land.ʺ |
49: | ҆и ꙋбоꙗх͛ се ѿ самрьть | ʺAnd I feared death.ʺ |
50: | затова рекохь | ʺThat is why I said:ʺ |
51: | Сестра мї е | ʺShe is my sister.ʺ |
52: | тогива се цр҃ь ꙋмилостиви; на дꙋми те ҆áврамови | Then, the king became merciful, because of the words of Abraham, |
и на негово смиренїе ҆и на мл͒тивь погледь ҆áврáмовь | as well as his peacefulness and merciful stare of Abraham. | |
53: | ҆и даде мꙋ цр҃ь ·҂а· жльти́ци | And the king gave him 1000 gold coins. |
54: | ҆и даде мꙋ ҆ѡв͛ци ·҂а· | And he gave to him 1000 sheep. |
55: | ҆и ѿ свекаква стока мꙋ дáде | And he gave him from all kinds of goods. |
56: | ҆и да-де мꙋ ро́бие ҆и робин͛ки | And he gave him (male and female) servants. |
57: | ҆и даде мꙋ сàрꙋ неговꙋ стопáницꙋ | And he gave him Sarah, his wife. |
58: | ҆и млого нещо дарꙋва цр҃ь ҆áврамꙋ | And the king gave many (other) things as gifts to Abraham. |
59: | ҆и рече мꙋ | And he said to him: |
60: | любимїче ҆áвраме кое́ ти ме́сто харекше тáмо да седи́шь да се весе́лишь | ʺO Abraham, my beloved, whichever place you like, stay there to be happy!ʺ |
61: | ҆и да ти дадем голема волꙗ нико́й тебе да не ҆ѡзлобить | ʺAnd may I give you great power, so that no one becomes hostile against you.ʺ |
62: | ҆и заради ҆áврама дарꙋва бг҃ь млого лета цр҃ꙋ авимеле́хꙋ | And, because of Abraham, God gave many years (of life) to King Abimelech. |
63: | такои, восхотѐ бг҃ь | Thus God wanted. |
64: | ҆и тако́й сотвори | And thus He had done. |
65: | видите ли хр͒тиани които се надеють на ми́лостиваго бг҃а какво ймь бг҃ь скоро помогнеть | Do you see, o Christians, how soon God helps those, who set their hopes on the merciful God? |
66: | ҆и лесно бг҃ь ҆ѡбогатва чловека ко́й хо́ди по законь бж҃їй | And God easily makes rich the man, who walks by the Law of God. |
67: | ҆и самь гд͒ь ре́че | And Lord Himself said: |
68: | ҆áвраме ҆излезни ѿ зе́млю твою ҆и ѿ родителе тво́й | ʺO Abraham, leave your (home)land and your parents!ʺ |
69: | ҆и ꙗ хощемь да бꙋдемь сáсь тебѐ | ʺAnd I will be with you.ʺ |
70: | ҆и хощем͛ те настави́ти где хо́чешь до старости живе́ти | ʺAnd I will direct you, where you will live until old age.ʺ |
71: | ҆и даде мꙋ бг҃ь не изре́чено добро ꙋ рꙋке | And God gave him unspeakable goods into (his) hands. |
72: | ҆и седе | And he sat. |
73: | ҆и весели́ се догде ҆остаре | And he was happy, until he became old. |
74: | ҆И коги ҆ѡстаре ◄ ҆áврамь поми́сли да ҆ѡже́ни си́на своего ҆иїсака | And when he became old, Abraham thought about wedding his son Isaac. |
75: | ҆и сакаше да ꙋзме синꙋ своемꙋ невестꙋ ѿ ро́да ханан҅еиска | And he wanted to take a bride of the Canaanite kin for his son. |
76: | [҆исакь синь; ҆áвраамовь ♣] | [Picture Text] Isaac, son of Abraham |
77: | ҆и призова ҆едно́го ве҆рнагѡ слꙋга своѐго | And he summoned one of his loyal servants. |
78: | защо аврамь ҆имаше ·тиı· ро́бие | Because Abraham had 318 servants. |
79: | ҆и рече томꙋва ве҆рномꙋ слꙋгꙋ | And he said to that loyal servant, |
да йдеть ꙋ потами́ю ꙋ бащинꙋ дрьжáвꙋ ҆áврамовꙋ; | to go to (Meso)potamia, to the fatherland of Abraham, | |
да ҆избере невестꙋ за ҆иїсака | to choose a bride for Isaac. | |
80: | видите ли | Do you see? |
81: | ва старо вре́ме не сакахꙋ млого бол҆ꙗ́рство чл҃векꙋ нити хꙋбава премена | In old times, they did not want pride/noble origin (from) a man, nor nice clothes. |
82: | но сакахꙋ дш҃евна хꙋбость да ймать | But they wanted him to have beauty of the soul, |
҆и ѿ добра ро́да да бꙋде | and to be from a good family, | |
҆и ѿ мьнечко да е ꙋчено на законь бж҃їй | and to be taught from smallest (childhood) to Law of God. | |
83: | ҆И даде ҆áврамь на вер͛наго слꙋга, три ками́ли, | And Abraham gave three camels to the loyal servant. |
84: | ҆и натовари на камили те неколи́ко дáри | And he loaded some presents on the camels. |
85: | ҆и даде мꙋ два раба | And he gave him two servants. |
86: | па когѝ пойде вер͛нїѡ слꙋга ѡнь ре́че | And when the loyal servant went, he said: |
87: | гд͒ине ҆áвраме гдѐ могꙋ ҆áзь ҆избрати неве́стꙋ коꙗ ще тебе би́ти ꙋго́дна | ʺO lord Abraham, where can I find a bride, which would be pleasing to you?ʺ |
88: | тоги́ва ре́че ҆áврамь | Abraham then said: |
89: | ти ҆отиди | ʺYou (just) go!ʺ |
90: | ҆и бг҃ь хо́щеть ҆избрáти | ʺAnd God will chose.ʺ |
91: | ҆и ѡтиде слꙋга ва грáдь нахо́рь гдето беше брáть ҆áврамовь | And the servant went to the city of Nahor, where the brother of Abraham was (living). |
92: | ҆и станꙋ слꙋга сась, камили те на крáй градь при ҆единь; кледенець | And the servant stopped with his camels at the edge of the city next to a well. |
93: | ҆и молеше се бг҃ꙋ | And he prayed to God. |
94: | ҆и такой, дꙋмаше | And thus he spoke: |
95: | бж҃е ҆áврамовь ҆и́саково моленїе ҆испльни ҆и аврамꙋ гд͒инꙋ моемꙋ | ʺO God of Abraham, fulfill the prayers of Isaac and Abraham, my master!ʺ |
96: | такой се бг҃ꙋ помоли слꙋга ҆áвраамов | Thus prayed the servant of Abraham to God. |
97: | ҆и дойде девица ревека на кладенець; да чрьпе́ть во́дꙋ | And the maiden Rebecca came to the well to draw water. |
98: | ҆á ѡнꙗ слꙋга ҆áврамов сакаше да йспита девицꙋ | And that servant of Abraham wanted to test the maiden, |
да ви́ди дали, ҆има смирено срдце ҆и покоренїе | to see, whether she has a peaceful heart and humbleness, | |
҆и чꙋжди-н͛ци дали милꙋва | and whether she is merciful to strangers. | |
99: | ҆и ре́че и слꙋга | And the servant said to her: |
100: | дай ми девице водꙋ да сѐ напиѐмь | ʺO maiden, give us water, so that we drink a bit!ʺ |
101: | ҆и ҆ѡна скоро даде мꙋ водꙋ | And soon she gave him water. |
102: | ҆и напи се | And he drank. |
103: | ҆и пáки рече и | And, again, he said to her: |
104: | девице напльни корито, да пиють ҆и камили те | ʺO maiden, fill the trough, so that the camels can drink too!ʺ |
105: | ҆и паки скоро напльни корито | And again, she quickly filled the trough. |
106: | напои й камили те | And she gave drink to the camels too. |
107: | тогива се почꙋдихꙋ ҆áврамови те чл҃веци колико е разꙋмна била девица ревека | Then the Abraham's men were amazed, how prudent is the maiden Rebecca. |
108: | коги ви́дохꙋ че е доброꙋмна девица ҆они почехꙋ да ю питꙋвать | As they saw, that she is a well-minded maiden, they began to ask her: |
109: | ҆имаш ли ҆оц҃а ти девице | ʺO maiden, do you have a father?ʺ |
110: | ҆онà рече | She said: |
111: | ҆имам ҆и оц҃а ҆и майкꙋ | ʺI have both a father and a mother.ʺ |
112: | ҆á имате ли место за на͒ ҆и за камили те | (And they said:) ʺDo you have place for us and the camels?ʺ |
113: | ѡна весело продꙋмà, | She answered happily: |
114: | ҆имамо место ҆и за вась ҆и за камили т | ʺWe have place for both you and the camels.ʺ |
115: | и по това ю͒ познахꙋ че хоче да бꙋде; невеста ҆исаакꙋ синꙋ ҆аврамовꙋ | Then they recognized (?) her, that she will be the bride of Isaac, son of Abraham. |
116: | ҆и паки пита ю ҆áврамовь слꙋга | And again, the servant of Abraham asked her: |
117: | какво е ҆име оц҃ꙋ твоемꙋ девице | ʺWhat is the name of your father, o maiden?ʺ |
118: | ҆о́на рече | She said: |
119: | ҆оц҃ꙋ моемꙋ ҆име е͒ татꙋиль мел͛хеѡвь | ʺMy father's name is Bethuel, (son) of Milcah.ʺ |
120: | ҆и паки пита ю слꙋга ҆áврамовь | And again the servant of Abraham asked her: |
121: | ҆á имате ли хрáна за кáмили те | ʺAnd do you have fodder for the camels?ʺ |
122: | ҆á ѡна рече | And she said: |
123: | ҆и храна ҆имамо | ʺWe have fodder,ʺ |
124: | ҆и место широко ҆и-мамо | ʺand we have a lot of space.ʺ |
125: | токо вие до́йдете на домь, нашь | ʺYou just come to our house!ʺ |
126: | видите ли каква наꙋка ҆имаше ѿ бащꙋ ҆и ѿ майкꙋ деви́ца ревека | Do you see, what teaching had the maiden Rebecca from (her) father and mother? |
127: | да знаете каквà беше хꙋбава девица реве́ка | May you know, how beautiful the maiden Rebecca was! |
128: | Ви́дите ли с какво сребро̀ ҆и зла-то бе́ха ю премени́ли нойни роди́теле | Do you see, with what kind of silver and gold her parents had adorned her? |
129: | коги до́йде девица реве́ка ѿ кладенець ҆ѡстави водꙋ ꙋ хи́жꙋ | When maiden Rebecca came home from the well, she left the water in the house. |
130: | ҆и до́йдохꙋ ҆о́нїꙗ чꙋждин͛ци | And those strangers came. |
131: | ҆и станáхꙋ предъ врáта домꙋ | And they stood in front of the doors of the house. |
132: | ҆излезе ревека | Rebecca went out. |
133: | ҆и покло-ни се предь ни́хь | And she bowed in front of them. |
134: | ҆и рече ҆имь | And she said to them: |
135: | господїне що стойте тꙋка | ʺGentlemen, why do you stand here?ʺ |
136: | то҆ꙗ́ домь е вашь | ʺThis house is yours.ʺ |
137: | коги ꙋлезохꙋ ҆о́ниꙗ чл҃веци ꙋ до́мь реве́ка прине́се водꙋ | When those men entered the house, Rebecca brought water. |
138: | ҆и ѡми им нозе́ те | And she washed their feet. |
139: | ҆и приникнꙋ | And she leaned closer. |
140: | ҆и целова имь нозе те | And she kissed their feet. |
141: | ҆и принесе трьпеза | And she brought a table. |
142: | ҆и рече слꙋга та ҆аврамовь на но́инаго оц҃а | And the Abraham's servant said to her father: |
143: | чл҃вече, бж҃їй ҆имамо нещо да ти речемо | ʺO man of God, we have something to tell you.ʺ |
144: | па тоги́ва сложе́те трьпеза | ʺPlace the table afterwards!ʺ |
145: | ҆á бащà и рече | And her father said: |
146: | що ще́те да ми рече́те | ʺWhat are you going to tell me?ʺ |
147: | ҆ѡни рекохꙋ | They said: |
148: | знаете ли ҆áврáма | ʺDo you know Abraham?ʺ |
149: | ҆и ѳатꙋйль рече | And Bethuel said: |
150: | млого чл҃веци подь нб҃са ҆има | ʺThere are many people under the sky.ʺ |
151: | ҆и не знáемо нїѧ ҆áвраама | ʺAnd we don't know Abraham.ʺ |
152: | ние смо ѿ него допрáтени | (The servants said:) ʺWe have been sent by him.ʺ |
153: | ҆и рече ни да мꙋ найдемо невестꙋ за сина своего исака | ʺAnd he told us to find a bride for his son Isaac.ʺ |
154: | ҆и твоѐ чедо найдохме на клáденець | ʺAnd we found your child at the well.ʺ |
155: | ҆и продꙋма намь мир͛ни ре́чи | ʺAnd she told us words of peace.ʺ |
156: | акѡ бꙋде во́лꙗ бж҃иа да бꙋдеть | ʺIf it is the will of God, may she be (...)ʺ |
157: | тогива продꙋма ҆о́ць деви́ци | Then the maiden's father spoke up. |
158: | ҆и рече | And He said: |
159: | ко́й хоче забранити своѐ чедо ѿ таково место | ʺWho would prevent his child from (going to?) such a place?ʺ |
160: | тогива ҆извадихꙋ ҆ѡни́ꙗ дарове що ги носехꙋ ѿ аврама | Then they took out the presents, which they were carrying from Abraham. |
161: | и дадохꙋ девици | And they gave (the presents) to the maiden. |
162: | ҆и дарꙋвахꙋ и бащꙋ̀ ҆и майкꙋ девицинꙋ ҆и сви те сродници ревекини; | And they gave presents to the father and the mother of the maiden, and to all the relatives of Rebecca. |
163: | ҆и раздадохꙋ дáрове те | And (thus) they gave the presents. |
164: | после, сложихꙋ трьпеза | Then they made the table. |
165: | ҆ꙗ́дохꙋ ҆и пѝхꙋ довол͛но | They ate and drank as much as they wanted. |
166: | коги́ би ꙋ ютро рáно рече ѳатꙋи́ль ревеки | When the early morning came, Bethuel said to Rebecca: |
167: | чедо мое пойди да йдешь при; своего ҆ѡбрꙋчника | ʺO my child, go (lit. to go) to your betrothed!ʺ |
168: | ҆и ѡна ре́че баще сї | And she said to her father: |
169: | ҆о́че ҆áко ти запове́дашь ҆ꙗ́ не щемь; погази́ти твою благꙋ дꙋмꙋ | ʺO father, if you command, I will not transgress your good word.ʺ |
170: | тоги́ва ю бл҃гословѝ ҆оц҃ь | Then the father blessed her. |
171: | ҆и рече и | And he said to her: |
172: | ѿ бг҃а да бꙋдешь бл҃гословена еди́нородное, мое чедо | ʺMay you be blessed by God, o my only born child!ʺ |
173: | ҆и да се ꙋмножи твое досто҆ꙗ́нїе | ʺAnd may worth grows!ʺ |
174: | ҆и що се поро́ди ѿ те́бе ҆и ѡно да бꙋде бл҃гословено ѿ мл͒тиваго бг҃а; | ʺAnd, what is born by yourself, may it be blessed by the merciful God too!ʺ |
175: | ҆и целꙋва ревека десни́цꙋ ҆о́ц҃ꙋ своемꙋ | And Rebecca kissed his father's right hand. |
176: | ҆и ꙋкачи се на камилꙋ | And she mounted a camel. |
177: | ҆и нойни послꙋ́шници поведохꙋ деви́цꙋ ревекꙋ | And her followers lead the maiden Rebecca. |

179: | ҆и заведоха ю | And they led her (to the Abraham's city?) |
180: | ҆и коги прїидохꙋ бли́зо при грáдо | And when they came close to the city, |

да дойдꙋть слꙋги́ те мꙋ | (so that he sees) when his servants come, | |
да ви́ди дали́ мꙋ водꙋть неве́стꙋ | to see, whether they are bringing him a bride. | |
181: | ҆и девица реве́ка ви́де | And the maiden Rebecca saw (him). |
182: | ҆и рече | And she said: |
183: | кои е͒ това щото чека на крáй грáдь | ʺWho is that one, who waits at the outskirts of the town?ʺ |
184: | ҆а слꙋги те й казахꙋ | And the servants told her: |
185: | това е тво́й ҆ѡбрꙋ́чникь иїсакь | ʺThat is your betrothed, Isaac.ʺ |
186: | тоги́ва реве́ка сле́зе ѿ ками́лꙋ | Then Rebecca dismounted the camel. |
187: | ҆и ходѝ пеши догдѐ прїиде бли́зꙋ прѝ иїсака; | And she went on foot, until she came close to Isaac. |
188: | ҆и по́клони́ мꙋ се до́ землю | And she bowed to him to the ground. |
189: | ҆и целива мꙋ; деснѝцꙋ | And she kissed his right hand. |
190: | ҆и онь ю фанꙋ за рꙋкꙋ | And he took her by hand. |
191: | ҆и заведе ю ꙋ домь ҆оц҃а сво́его | And he brought her to the house of his father. |
192: | тогива, ҆излезе ҆áврамь рáдостень | Then Abraham went out with joy. |
193: | ҆и посрешнꙋ ги | And he met them. |
194: | ҆и бл҃гослови́ ги | And he blessed them. |
195: | ҆и дарꙋва ги сребро ҆и злато довол͛но | And he gave them a lot of silver and gold as presents. |
196: | ҆и тоꙗ́ день сотворѝ ҆áврамь ҆изоби́лна трьпе́за | And on that day, Abraham made a lavish table (feast). |
197: | ҆и призова си́роти ҆и сиромáси | And he invited poor women and poor men. |
198: | ҆и гости ги | And he made them his guests. |
199: | ҆и напой ги | And he gave them drinks. |
200: | ҆и млого ймь милѡстин҆ꙗ́ даде | And he gave them a lot of alms. |
201: | ҆и рече ҆áврамь, на сиротици те ҆и на сиромаси те | And Abraham said to the poor women and poor men: |
202: | ҆ѡ создáнїе бж҃їе моле́те се ҆и вие мл͒тивомꙋ бг҃ꙋ за си́на моего ҆иїсака ҆и за ревекꙋ ҆исаковꙋ неве́стꙋ | ʺO creatures of God, you, too, pray to the merciful God for my son Isaac, and for Rebecca, the bride of Isaac!ʺ |
203: | ҆и ҆ѡнѝꙗ сиро́маси бл҃годари́хꙋ бг҃а | And those poor ones thanked God. |
204: | ҆и бл҃гслови́хꙋ младен͛ци ҆исака ҆и ревекꙋ | And they blessed the young (?) Isaac and Rebecca. |
205: | ҆и даде им бг҃ь млого сребро̀ ҆и злáто | And God gave them a lot of silver and gold. |
206: | ҆и дарꙋвà ҆имь бг҃ь днѝ дльги ҆и живо́ть бл҃гь междꙋ ни́хь | And God gave them long days and a life (full of) happ(iness) between them. |
207: | ҆и достофал͛но почитахꙋ бащꙋ ҆и майкꙋ | And they respected the father and the mother worthily of praise. |
208: | защо ймь бе́ше даль, бг҃ь разꙋмь, бл҃гь | Because God had given them great prudence. |
209: | разꙋмех͛те ли хрѝсти҆ꙗ́ни како́вь годешь ҆ѡни сотворихꙋ | Did you understand, o Christians, what kind of betrothal they made, |
҆и каква женидба ҆ѡни ѿврьши́хꙋ | and what kind of wedding they finished? | |
210: | ҆á ниа ꙋ нáши те вре́мена правимо свад͛би сáсь свир͛ки ҆и сась; тꙋпане дꙗволски ҆и сась пе́сни бесовьски | And we, in our times, do weddings with flutes, and with devilish drumming, and with demonic songs! |
211: | ҆и никаква помощь не йма ѿ, свир͛ки ҆и ѿ пе́сни | And there is no help form flutes and songs. |
212: | ҆и кое бл҃гословенїе хощеть да прїидеть на младен͛ци ѿ свир͛ки ї ѿ тꙋпане ҆и ѿ ҆игрѝ ҆и ѿ песни демон͛ски | And what blessing will come to the couple (?) from flutes and drumming and dances and demonic songs? |
213: | но разꙋмеите чи́стѡ, какво сьврьши ҆áвраамь свад͛бꙋ | But understand, how purely (?) made Abraham the wedding! |
214: | тако дль́жни ҆есми ҆и нїѧ да твориме | Thus we, too, are obliged to do. |
215: | и да дадемо бг҃ꙋ слáвꙋ во веки веков | And (we are also obliged) to give God glory forever. |
