4: | ʾi ʾjáko béše xubavь na licè | And he was very pretty in face. |
5: | wt selo pilusa | (He was) from the village of Pilusa. |
6: | ta go naklevetíxu cr̃u če sè ne póklánjá nă idole | So, they accused him of not bowing to idols. |
7: | ta go fanáxu za glávni kósi | So they seized him by the hair. |
8: | ʾi trutixá go na ʾwstri šil͛ci žilézni | And they impaled him on sharp iron stakes. |
9: | ʾi počéxu: da go bíjutь sásь volov͛ski žíli strašno bez mílosti | And they began to beat him with oxen sinews, terribly, mercilessly. |
10: | pósle go ʾwbesìxu na drьvo | Then they hanged him on a tree. |
11: | ʾi sásь vьdicí mu kínexu teló to | And they were tearing his body with hooks. |
12: | ʾi sásь kamene mu strošíxu kostí te | And they broke his bones with stones. |
13: | ʾá edna ženà sa͒ ednò ʾwko slépa wt mьnečko stoĭ tamo | And one woman, blind on one eye since childhood, stood there. |
14: | ta gléda kakvo bijut ʾi mučatь st̃ago | And she looked how they beat and torment the saint. |
15: | ʾi wna ʾimaše ʾjádь na nègo | And she was angry with him. |
16: | ʾi grózno glédaše st̃ago grigóriju | And she was looking terribly on St. Gregory. |
17: | velíko nékoe čudo sotvorí se | A great miracle happened. |
18: | ʾi ʾwna béše uzéla pílu | And she had taken a saw. |
19: | ta strúžeše st̃ago | And she was ripping the saint. |
20: | skóči kap͛ka krьvь u ʾokò ženè | A drop of blood fell into the eye of the woman. |
21: | ʾwle čudesà | O, what a miracle! |
22: | prózre sa͒ ʾóko ženà | The woman started to see with the eye! |
23: | ʾi st̃ь ʾi se daruva | And the light was given to her. |
24: | ʾi potom st̃omu glávu wtsékoxu | And then they cut off the head of the saint. |
25: | ʾi predade svójù dš̃u bg̃u | And he gave over his soul to God. |
26: | pósle ʾónáę ženà pokaʾjá se | Afterwards, the woman repented. |
27: | i neprestáno bg̃a móleše | And she prayed to God without stopping. |
28: | ʾi ʾwna pover͛va vь x͒a | And she started to believe in the Christ. |
29: | ʾi ʾōtidè múžь nóen(ь) | And her husband went out. |
30: | ʾi reče ̉ | And he said: |
31: | w cr̃u žena mója poštó xuli naši velíki bg̃ove | ʺO Emperor, my wife slanders our great gods!ʺ |
32: | ʾi pomenuva ʾime xr͒tóvo | ʺAnd she worships the name of the Christ.ʺ |
33: | ʾjá vídimь | ʺI see!ʺ |
34: | i ʾwko ju prosvetíxu bógove naši | ʺOur gods even put light to her eye.ʺ |
35: | ʾwna rugáe na nix | ʺ(But) she blasphemes against them!ʺ |
36: | ʾá xr͒tu raspétomu poklánja se | ʺAnd she bows to the Christ the Crucified!ʺ |
37: | ʾi réče cr̃ь | And the Emperor said, |
38: | ʾi prïvédoxu ženù tu | and they brought the woman. |
39: | ʾi povede | And (t)he(y) led (her?) |
40: | ʾi wtsekoxu ʾi noĭ čt͒nuju glávu | And they cut off her honorable head too. |
41: | ʾi skon͛ča se vь bl͂gočéstïe | And she ended her life in piety. |
42: | ʾi predáde bg̃u dš̃u (svoju) | And she gave over her soul to God. |
43: | ʾi uspe sa míromь dx̃omь st̃imь | And she fell asleep in peace, (with?) Holy Spirit. |
