1: | ҆и дрꙋ́го чꙋ́до послꙋ́шаише хр͒ти҆áни | [Foreword] Also hear (about) another miracle, o Christians! |
2: | по Адама ꙋ содо́мь грáдь и ꙋ ҆и гоморь: бе́ше кꙋр͛вар͛ство мло́го | After Adam, there was a lot of adultery in the city of Sodom and in Gomorrah. |
3: | не знаеше се ҆имь сестрà | They did not know a sister. |
4: | ҆и не знаеше се лелꙗ̀ илѝ тет͛ка | And they did not know their (maternal and paternal) aunt(s), |
че ѐ сасвѐ крьвь ҆еди́норо́дна | that she is fully related by blood. | |
5: | ть́кмо си́нь свою̀ мáйкю гле́даше | Only sons looked upon their mothers. |
6: | ҆á дрꙋги тѐ ҆и мал͛ки те децà не ҆ѡстáвꙗхꙋ; | And others did not leave even small children alone. |
7: | ҆и мꙋжїе ҆еди́нь дрꙋ́гого си́лꙋвахꙋ | And men were raping each other. |
8: | ҆и мло́го срáмни гре́хь тамо сѐ бе́ше ꙋчини́ло грозно ҆и безьбж҃но | And a lot of shameful sin was done there, terribly and godlessly. |
9: | проклети҆ꙗ теш͛ка ҆и люта | (Truly,) a curse, heavy and fierce. |
10: | ҆и бг҃ь не можѐ да трьпи | And God could not suffer (it). |
11: | нело̀ дáде бг҃ь во́дꙋ стрáшнꙋ | Thus he gave terrible waters. |
12: | та пото́пи свь́ све́ть тáмо | And thus He drowned the whole world there. |
13: | ҆и дáде бг҃ь ҆о́г͛нь стрáшень тáмо | And God gave a terrible fire there. |
14: | ҆и погоре́хꙋ сви лю́дие | And all the people were burned (there). |
15: | токо̀ ҆ѡстанáхꙋ че́тири хи́жи́ | Only four houses remained. |
16: | но҆ꙗ́ бе́ше ҆ѡстáль ҆и трѝ сн҃ове него́ви ҆и жени́ те ҆имь ҆и мáти ни́х͛на | Noah had remained, and his three sons, and their wives, and their mother. |
17: | ни́хь не щеꙗ̀ бг҃ь да пото́пи нитѝ да гѝ ҆изго́ри | God did not want to drown them, nor to burn them. |
18: | защо̀ токо̀ ҆ѡнѝ не чи́нехꙋ кꙋр͛варьство ꙋ товà вре́ме | Because only they did not do adultery in that time. |
19: | ҆и да разꙋме́ете хри́сти́ӑни | And may you understand, o Christians! |
20: | [зри] | [sidenote] Behold! |
21: | ко́й приказꙋва ꙋ ст҃о́е писанїе | He who reads (what is written?) in the Holy Scripture, |
҆или по́пь ҆или калꙋ́герь ҆или граматьни́кь | (be it) a priest, a monk, or a grammarian, | |
҆и ѿ срáмь да гáзи ти́а дꙋ́ми; | may he stomps those words by shame. | |
22: | ѡͯ теш͛ко томꙋ́ва чи̇тáтелю | O, (it is) hard for such a reader! |
23: | ҆и голе́мꙋ про́клети́ю подьꙋзи́ма на се́бе | And he takes a big curse on himself. |
24: | но; прáво пред͛ь сьбо́рь | But it is right (to say it?) in front of the assembly, |
дá разꙋме́е све́ки | so that everyone understands, | |
що се́ е чини́ло | what was done, | |
ѿ ко́ль е͒ настанꙋл то́ꙗ ст҃ь | since this world came to exist. | |
25: | ҆и пáки ѿ но́йнь поро́дь вели́ки гре́хь направи́ се | And again, a great sin was done by the offspring of Noah. |
26: | ҆и после ҆и на них бг҃ь показà ҆и дрꙋго знаме́нїе на со́дома ҆и гомо́ра | And afterwards, God showed on them a sign too, on Sodom and Gomorrah. |
27: | чáсто во́йски прáтеше бо́гь на ни́хь ҆и мло́го ненави́сть роб͛ство̀ | God was sending often armies against them, and a lot of hate and servitude. |
28: | бе́зькрáйно мло́го крь́ви проли́вахꙋ се | Endlessly lot of blood was being spilled. |
29: | ҆и млого стрàхове те́глехꙋ | And a lot of fears they had, |
какво́то ҆и ни́ꙗ те́глиме до дне́сь | as we do have until now. | |
30: | ҆и ни́какво́ се не ҆ѡстáвлꙗю̀ ѿ зло̀ ти́а чл҃ве́ци ко́ньчно | And those people do (did?) not cease (to do) evil finally. |
31: | безꙋ́мие тво́рехꙋ блꙋ́дь не́престáно | They we doing endlessly mindlessness, adultery. |
32: | ѡͯ; те́шко ймь; | O, (it is) hard for them! |
33: | ҆и видѐ бг҃ь че ни́как не чꙋт да сѐ покáють ҆и ти́ꙗ чл҃ве́ци | And God saw, that those people, too, are not going to repent in no way. |
34: | ҆á ѡ̌нь помислѝ ҆и нихь да йзгори ҆и да пото́пи; | And He thought about burning and drowning them too. |
35: | садо́мь ҆и гомо́рь бе́хꙋ голе́ми грáдове | Sodom and Gomorrah were big cities. |
36: | ҆и бе́ше тáмо начел͛никь † лѡ́ть | And Lot was the chieftain there. |
37: | он ◄ ♣ заповед͛ваше за бꙋ́ди що тáмо ꙋ тиа грáдове | He was responsible for something in those cities. |
38: | ҆и ѿ толи́ко кꙋр͛вар͛ство бехꙋ побесне́ли мло́го безакон͛ство | And they became mad because of so much adultery, much lawlessness. |
39: | погнꙋси́ се бг҃ь ҆ꙗ́ко на ни́хь | God became very disgusted from them. |
40: | ҆и хо́че да гѝ пого́ри | |
41: | ҆и пратѝ бг҃ь ҆áнг҃гела своего̀ | And God sent his angel. |
42: | та ре́че ло́тꙋ да бе́га ҆и онь | And he told Lot to run, |
да нѐ ҆изгорѝ са͒ гре́шни те лю́дие | so that he would not burn with the sinful people. | |
43: | когѝ ҆ѡтидѐ ҆áн͛гг҃ель ҆и ре́че мꙋ | When the angel went (to Lot), he said to him: |
44: | лѡ́те стáни ско́ро да побегнеш ѿ тꙋ́ка | ʺO Lot, stand up soon, to run from here!ʺ |
45: | защо̀ бг҃ь хо́че да пꙋщи ҆о́҆гнь да пого́ри ти́а чл҃ве́ци | ʺBecause God will release fire to burn that people!ʺ |
46: | ҆и ре́че лѡ́ть на свои сро́дницѝ | And Lot said to his relatives: |
47: | ҆елáте мо́й сро́дници да бе́гамо ѿ срьд͛бꙋ бж҃ию | ʺCome, my relatives, let us run from the anger of God!ʺ |
48: | ҆áко хо́чете ҆и ви́е; да бе́гате | ʺIf you want, too, run!ʺ |
49: | ҆á ѡни́ мꙋ ре́кохꙋ | But they said: |
50: | знаеш͛ ли тѝ що хо́че бг҃ь да тво́ри | ʺYou do know, what is God going to do?ʺ |
51: | ҆и присмеꙗ́ха- мꙋ се | And they laughed at him. |
52: | когѝ видѐ лѡ́ть че го̀ не послꙋшáхꙋ ҆á ҆ѡнь си ҆ѡтиде на сво́и до́мь | When Lot saw, that they did not listen to him, he went to his home. |
53: | пáки рече мꙋ ҆áн͛г҃гель | Again, the angel said: |
54: | коги́ те не послꙋшáхꙋ .:. | ʺAs they did not listen to you,ʺ |
ꙋзмѝ тѝ женꙋ̀ твою̀ ҆и две́ те дьщеркѝ тво́й | ʺtake your wife and your two daughters!ʺ | |
55: | ҆и побегни́ ѿ тꙋка | ʺAnd run away from here!ʺ |
56: | ҆и нико́й ѿ вáсь да сѐ не ҆ѡбрь́не да погле́да нà назáть да ви́ди що се прáви тáмѡ; | ʺAnd may none of you turn back to look behind, what is happening there!ʺ |
57: | ть́кмо ско́ро бе́гаите на висо́кꙋ го́рꙋ сиго́рь | ʺJust run quickly to the high mountain of Segor!ʺ |
58: | ҆и се́детѐ тáмо | ʺAnd sit there!ʺ |
59: | когѝ ҆излезе лѡ́ть ѿ до́мь сво́й ҆и ѿ содо́мь град͛ | When Lot went out of his home and of the city of Sodom, |
҆а женà лѡ́това по́жали за сво́й сро́дници | Lot's wife became sad for her relatives. | |
60: | ҆и сло́жи се сáсь глáвꙋ | And she put herself (down?) with her head. |
61: | ҆и погледà ме́ждꙋ коле́на та си по́дь се́бе на назáть | And she looked between the knees beneath herself back (?), |
да ви́ди що сѐ нáправи тáмо ꙋ содо́мь .:. грáдь | to see, what was happening there in the city of Sodom. | |
62: | ҆и стáнꙋ кáмикь то́ꙗ чáсь лотова женà | And Lot's wife became a stone (in) that moment. |
63: | ҆и не по́мести се(и) | And she did (could?) not move. |
64: | ҆á ло́ть ꙋзе свои двѐ дьще́р͛ки, | And Lot took his two daughters. |
65: | ҆и ѡтидѐ на сиго́рь горà .:. | And he went to the mountain of Segor. |
66: | ҆и назáть свь́ грáдь погорѐ | And the city behind them fully burned down. |
67: | когѝ бе́ше лѡ́ть ꙋ го́рꙋ зле́ помисли́хꙋ него́ви дь́щер͛ки | When Lot was in the mountain, his daughters had evil thoughts. |
68: | ҆и дꙋмахꙋ си ми́ждꙋ се́бе две́ те че е с͛вь ст҃ь погоре́ль ҆и потопил͛ се ꙋ водꙋ | And they spoke to each other both, that the whole world was burned and it drowned into waters. |
69: | ҆и ре́че ҆еднà на дрꙋгꙋ | And they said to each other: |
70: | почꙋ́ли сме вь стáро вре́ме потопѝ бг҃ь сь́вь ст҃ь | ʺWe have heard, (that) God drowned the whole world in ancient times.ʺ |
71: | токо̀ сам͛ си но́ꙗ ҆ѡстанꙋ | ʺOnly Noah alone remained.ʺ |
72: | ҆и ѿ не́го ҆ѡстáнꙋ пло́дь члве́чески | ʺAnd by him the human offspring remained.ʺ |
73: | ви́дите лѝ що се загрижáли лѡ́тови дьщер͛ки | Do you see, what (about) were Lot's daughters caring? |
74: | ҆и рекохꙋ си | And they said to each other: |
75: | ҆и ни́ꙗ да ви́диме ме́ждꙋ се́бе да ꙋдрьжи́ме пло́дь чл҃ве́комь | ʺLet us, too, see (to it), to uphold the human offspring,ʺ |
҆и да се ꙋмножи плод нáшь на зе́млю лю́дие мло́го | ʺand that our own offspring multiplies on the Earth (into) many people.ʺ | |
76: | защо̀ не ҆ѡстанꙋ по с͛вь ст҃ь мꙋ́жь да рече́ме ҆и женà | ʺBecause not a man remained in the world, so to say, nor a woman.ʺ |
77: | токо̀ ни́ꙗ две́ме ҆ѡстанáх͛ме ҆и нáшь ҆о́ц҃ь | ʺOnly the two of us remained, and our father.ʺ |
78: | ҆и тáко злѐ помисли́хꙋ лѡ́тови дьщер͛ки, | And thus Lot's daughters had evil thoughts. |
79: | ҆и дадохꙋ млого ви́но ҆о́ц҃ꙋ сво́҅емꙋ лѡ́тꙋ | And they gave a lot of wine to their father Lot. |
80: | ҆и ѡпи́ се | And he got drunk. |
81: | ҆и ле́же да спи́ | And he laid himself to sleep. |
82: | ҆и при҆идохꙋ ҆и две́ те мꙋ дьщер͛ки при не́го | And his two daughters came to him. |
83: | ҆и поче́хꙋ да го́ блазнꙋть за кꙋр͛вар͛ство | And they began to seduce him to adultery. |
84: | [зрї диавол͛скїа козни] | [sidenote] Behold, devilish intrigues! |
85: | ҆и ҆ѡнь ꙋ пиан͛ство ҆ѡб͛лежà по́ голе́ма та своꙗ̀ дьщер͛ка | And he, in his drunken state, he slept with his older daughter. |
86: | ҆и ва вто́рꙋ ве́черь пáки принесо́хꙋ мло́го .:. вино̀ | And on the second evening they brought a lot of wine again. |
87: | ҆и ѡпоихꙋ лѡ́та бащꙋ̀ сво҆его | And they made Lot, their father, drunk. |
88: | ҆и не знáеше се́бе на то́ꙗ ст҃ь | And he did not know himself in this world. |
89: | толи́ко го ҆ѡпойхꙋ него́ви дьщер͛ки | So much did his daughters made him drunk. |
90: | ꙋ пиан͛ство ҆ѡблежà ҆и по младá та своꙗ̀ дьщер͛ка .:. | And in drunken state he slept with his younger daughter too. |
91: | [жена] | [Sidenota] A woman. |
92: | заче́хꙋ ҆и две́ те | The both conceived. |
93: | по́йдохꙋ трꙋдни | They became pregnant. |
94: | по голе́ма та родѝ сн҃а | The older (daughter) gave birth to a son. |
95: | [їꙋда] | [Sidenota] Jude |
96: | ҆и нарекохà мꙋ ҆име .:. Моӑвь | And they gave him the name Moab, |
сѝре́чь си́нь ѿ ѡц҃а мо҆его̀ | that is: ʺson from my fatherʺ. | |
97: | ҆и по младá та родѝ | And the younger (daughter) gave birth. |
98: | ҆и не́мꙋ наре́кохꙋ ҆име ҆Амáнь | And they gave him the name Ammon, |
си́ре́чь си́нь ѿ ро́да мо҆его̀ | that is: ʺson from my fatherʺ. | |
99: | радѝ:. тáꙗ рабо́та бе́ше ҆ѡсквер͛нена тáꙗ гора сиго́рь | Because of that case, that mountain Segor was tainted. |
100: | ҆и за товà не пре҆ѡбрази́ се х҃с тáмо | And that is why Jesus did not become transfigurated there. |
101: | чꙋ́ете ли хр͒тиӑни какво́ е де҆ꙗ́нӥе било̀ тáмо | Do you hear, o Christians, what deeds had been there? |
102: | коли́ко е злопомишле́нїе било̀ тáмо | How many evil thoughts were there! |
103: | коли́ко е нечистотà билà тáмо | How much impurity was there! |
104: | коли́ко е безако́нїе било̀ тáмо | How much lawlessness was there! |
105: | коли́ка е про́клети́а билà тáмо | How much curse was there! |
106: | коли́ко е гнꙋсотà билà тамо | How many disgusting things were there! |
107: | ҆ѡчеви́дно кꙋр͛вар͛ство ҆и погáно чл҃ве́ческо:. злод҆еꙗнїе | Apparent adultery and heathen-like human evil-doing (was there)! |
108: | ҆и бг҃ь не можѐ вечѐ, да трьпи | And God could not suffer (it) anymore. |
109: | ҆и пꙋщи ҆ѡгнь ѿ нб҃са | And He sent fire from the heavens. |
110: | ҆и погори ти́ꙗ грáдове до коне́ць | And He burned those cities to the end. |
111: | ҆и после пꙋщѝ во́дꙋ | And then He released water. |
112: | та по́топи свѐ що ймаше жи́во на то҆ꙗ́ ст҃ь | And He drowned everything, what was alive in this world: |
҆о́в͛ци гове́да ҆и ко́ни ҆и би́воле ҆и воло́ве ҆и ко́злища | sheep, cattle and horses, and buffalos, and oxen, and goat kids, | |
҆и ками́ли ҆и мь́скѝ ҆и пер͛нáти гáдове(и) ҆и пти́ци .:. фрькáти | and camels, and mules, and feathery lizards (?), and flying birds. | |
113: | не ҆ѡстанꙋ ни́що по́дь небо жи́во | Nothing remained alive beneath the sky. |
114: | ѡͯ коли́ко бе́ше водà | O, how much water was there! |
115: | до пе́ть нá десеть лáкти | Up to fifteen yards! |
116: | не можѐ водà да дости́гне нб҃о | The water could not reach the heaven. |
117: | ви́дите лѝ хр͒тиӑни колѝко бе́ше се бг҃ь, разгневаль на ти́ꙗ лꙋге | Do you see, o Christians, how much did God become angry with those people? |
118: | ҆и пого́ри ги | And He burned them. |
119: | ҆и пото́пи ги | And He drowned them. |
120: | токо̀ то́ꙗ врьх бе́ше сꙋ́хь ҆ѡстáнꙋль | Only that mountain remained dry. |
121: | защо̀ ѿ тоꙗ врьхь сиго́рь по сь́вь ст҃ь по висо́ко ме́сто не́ ма | Because there is not a higher place all over the world than that mountain Segor. |
122: | тáмо ҆ѡстахꙋ лѡ́тови дьщер͛ки .:. жи́ви | There, Lot's daughters remained alive. |
123: | ѿ ни́хь две́ те що сѐ нáплоди ҆ѡ,нѝ бе́хꙋ кꙋрꙋци | From the two of them, those, who were conceived, were the crusaders (?) |
124: | ҆и ѡни се доврь́шихꙋ с͒а по́мощию, бж҃ию | And they perished with the help of God. |
125: | ҆и това чꙋдо ҆и злое де҆ꙗ́нїе при́казах͛мо хр͒тиáномь за ꙋвере́нїе | And we told to Christians this miracle and evil doing for (their) faith. |
126: | ко́й не ѐ чꙋль ҆и виде́ль ҆á ҆онь да чꙋе | May he, who did not hear or see, hear, |
҆и дá разꙋме́е ҆и да вер͛ва си́лꙋ ҆и славꙋ .:. бжїю | and may he understand and believe in the power and glory of God. | |
127: | защо̀ тиꙗ̀ дꙋ́ми не сꙋ̀ ѿ чл҃вечески ҆ꙋмь | Because those words are not from the human mind. |
128: | нело сꙋ̀ ѿ бж͒етве́ни книги ҆и проро́ческо чт͒ное писанїе | But they are from divine books and truly prophetic scripture. |
129: | ко́й: да сѐ не́ почꙋ́ди на тако́во срáмно ҆и гнꙋсно прокле́то сотворе́нїе чл҃ве́ческо | Who would not be amazed about so shameful and disgusting, accursed works of the mankind? |
130: | во, слáвꙋ, все́гда, ҆и во ве́ки веко́вь | In the glory, always and forever! |
131: | (амин) | Amen. |
