9: | báština mu béše tezvía grádь | His homeland was the town of Tishbe. |
10: | ʾi baštu negóvago zovéxu savákь | And his father was called Savah. |
11: | ʾi kogí go ródi máĭkja negóva | And when his mother gave birth to him, |

14: | ʾi dávaxa mù plámikь da sísa ʾi ʾwgnь da ʾede | And they were giving him flame to suck and fire to eat. |
15: | u jutró to kogì se sobúdi ʾwnь pómisli kakò strášenь sñь vidè | And when his mother gave birth to him, |
16: | ʾi ʾōtide na er͒limьskì mónastírь | And he went to a monastery in Jerusalem. |
17: | ʾi kazà na popóve te kakóvь sь´nь vidè | And he said to the priests, what kind of dream he saw, |
ʾi koe znaménïe pokazuet͛ se na tóę sь´nь | and (to ask?) what sign is shown in the dream. | |
18: | ʾi rekóxa mu popóve te | And the priests said to him: |
19: | ne bóĭ se čl͂veče | ʺHave no fear, o man!ʺ |
20: | na tova detè rabota xóče da búde st̃ь | ʺThe works (?) of this child will be holy (?)ʺ |
21: | negóva réčь xóče da bude wtréčena | ʺHis word shall be denied.ʺ |
22: | ʾi živótь negóvь xóče da búde sasь bóga | ʺAnd his life shall be with God.ʺ |
23: | ʾi míslь negóvь xóče da bude bg̃u ugódenь | ʺAnd his mind shall please God.ʺ |
24: | ʾi xóče da súdi na nevér͛nici sasь ʾwrúžie ʾi sasь ʾógnь | ʺAnd he shall judge unbelievers with weapons and fire.ʺ |

27: | ʾi nadaše se da vídi. | And he hoped to see, |

28: | wt kakvò poče da próročestvúva ʾimaše ʾédinь cr̃ь | Since he began to prophesize, there was a king. |
29: | ʾime mu béše ʾáxavь | His name was Ahab. |
30: | ʾi ne čestívь | And (he was) dishonorable. |
31: | ne vérvaše ʾistinago bg̃a | He did not believe (in) the True God. |
32: | ʾi uze sébe ženù | And he took himself a wife. |
33: | ʾime i béše elьzavela | Her name was Jezebel. |
34: | ʾi tolíko béše bezbóžna | And she was so godless! |
35: | nikakvo ne može da poznáe ʾistinago bg̃a | She could not know the True God in any way. |
36: | nelo se poklanjaxu na ĭdole katò bg̃u | And they bowed to the idols like to God. |
37: | ʾi narekoxa mu ʾime voʾalь bg̃ь | And they gave him the name God Baal. |
38: | ʾi va ʾonija vremena xódeše prorokь ʾilia po zémlju: | And in those times, Prophet Elijah walked the Earth. |
39: | ʾi vidè kakò cr̃ь ne počíta ʾistinago bg̃a | And he saw, how the king does not respect the True God, |

ʾi sьvь naródь poklánja se na gluxi ʾi na némi ʾidole | and (that) the whole nation bows to deaf and mute idols. | |
40: | vidè kako xoče sь´vь naródь dá ʾide u múku véčnuju; | He saw, how the whole nation was going to enter the Eternal Torment. |
41: | ʾá ʾwnь se rásrьdi | And he became angry. |
42: | ʾi réče | And he said: |
43: | wx bž̃e móĭ ʾjá. tébe na noze stóimь | ʺO my God, I stand for you on my legs (?)ʺ |
44: | večè da nè bude dь´žь ná zemlju dogdè ʾjá réčemь | ʺMay there be no rain on the Earth until I say!ʺ |
45: | ʾi svrьší se ʾilíju dúma ta | And the Elijah's word was fulfilled. |
46: | ʾi réče bg̃ь | And God said: |
47: | ʾidi ʾilíe na ʾistóčna strána dóle | ʺGo, o Elijah, down to the land of the East!ʺ |
48: | ʾi skrí se vь suxi dólь što è blízu pri ʾiwr͛dana | ʺAnd hide yourself in the dry valley, which is close to the River Jordan!ʺ |
49: | zové se ʾónja dólь xoríѳь | ʺThe valley is called Chorath.ʺ |
50: | ʾi ako ʾwžadnéešь támo xóčešь píti vódu wt réku | ʺAnd if you become thirsty, you will drink the water from the river.ʺ |
51: | ʾi ʾjá xočemь poveléti gar͛vanu da tì prinósi xlébь i meso | ʺAnd I will command a raven to bring you bread and meat.ʺ |
52: | ʾi satvorì prorókь ʾilia kakvoto. mu zapovedà ml͒tvi bg̃ь | And Prophet Elijah did as the merciful God commanded him. |
53: | ʾi ʾōtidè tàmo ʾu ʾwnja suxi dólь | And he went there, to the dry valley. |
54: | ʾi séde pódь ʾedinь breg | And he sat under a hill. |
55: | ʾi na sváki dénь ráno prinóseše ʾému: vrána xlébь | And every day in the morning, a crow was bringing bread to him. |
56: | ʾi xóčatь nékoi da rečútь | And some may say: |
57: | poštò bg̃ь ne prati drúga ptíca | Why did God not send another bird? |
58: | nelo práti vránu da sluguva proroku ʾilïju | But He sent a crow to serve Prophet Elijah? |
59: | razuméite dobrè xr͒tiăni | Understand well, o Christians! |
60: | ʾi da poznáete | May you know: |
61: | vrána se zovè čédo nenavísno | The crow is called a hateful child. |
62: | ʾwni kogi ʾizmútatь píleta ʾi wstavat͛ gi u gnezdo | When they have birdlings, they leave them in the nest. |
63: | ʾi veče ne prixódatь da gí xránat | And they don't come anymore to feed them. |
64: | ʾi wni gládni sakatь wt bg̃a da edútь | And they want from God to eat. |
65: | ʾi skričutь sásь ʾusta nagóre | And they cry with mouths up. |
66: | ʾi bg͂ь milostívi ʾimь práti mal͛ki mušici | And the merciful God sends them small flies. |
67: | ʾi ʾwni gi poglь´tatь | And they eat them. |
68: | ʾi xranat͛ se sámi | And they feed themselves alone, |

69: | tolíko e vrána ne ml͒tiva gádina zá svói píleta | So bad and merciless is the crow to its children. |
70: | tá zatovà ʾi bg̃ь réče | And that is why God said: |
71: | ʾilíw ʾi ti si takóvja ne ml͒tívь kako tíja ne ml͒tivi vráni | ʺO Elijah, you, too, are as merciless as those merciless crows!ʺ |
72: | táko ʾi ti ne milúvašь da nè pómratь člvéci wt gládь | ʺYou, too, have no mercy, so that people won't die of hunger.ʺ |
73: | no ʾi wšte. ʾi méne pálišь | ʺBut you compel (?) me too,ʺ |

77: | ʾi ʾjá xóčemь da povelímь da te naxráni taę sirotíca | ʺAnd I will give a command, so that this poor woman feeds you.ʺ |
78: | ʾi ʾōtide ʾilia | And Elijah went. |
79: | ʾi vidè ʾednà sírota ženà | And he saw a poor woman. |
80: | sьbíraše malo drьv͛ca | She was collecting some wood. |
81: | ʾi réče ju | And he said to her: |
82: | donesí mi mal͛ko vódu u krьčakь da piʾemь | ʺBring me a bit of water in a pitcher to drink,ʺ |
ʾi mal͛ko xlébь da edémь | ʺand a bit of bread to eat.ʺ | |
83: | ʾá žená ta réče | And the woman said: |
84: | čl̃véče žívь da búde gd͒ь bg̃ь móĭ | ʺO man, long live the Lord, my God!ʺ |
85: | ne ʾimamь póveče brášno wt edna kríváčka u kačicu mojù ʾi málo maslo u masleníkь | ʺI don't have more flour than a bit in my jar, and a bit of oil in the bottle.ʺ |
86: | ʾi etè sabiramь drьvcà da ʾwmésimь malu tur͛ticu | ʺAnd here, I collect wood to knead a small loaf,ʺ |
da ʾédémь ʾjá ʾi moʾe čédo | ʺso that I and my child eat,ʺ | |

88: | ʾw ženò ʾimái nadeždu | ʺO woman, have hope in God!ʺ |

ʾi masleníkь wt maslo | ʺnor your bottle of oil,ʺ | |
dogdè dade bg̃ь dь´žь po svù zémlju | ʺuntil God gives rain to all the land.ʺ | |
93: | ʾi ʾwtide žená ta | |
94: | ʾi sótvori kakvotó ĭ: réče ʾilía | |
95: | ʾi wt tója čásь ne ʾwprazne; kačica bezь brašno | |
96: | vídite lì kakvò táʾja vdovíca sásь ʾédna réčь ʾizvadi xlébь wt svóĭ usta ʾi wt svoè čedo | Do you see, how the widow takes away the bread from her own mouth and her child, |
ʾi dade go stránomu ʾi ne poznanomu čuždin͛cu | and gives it to a strange and unknown man? | |
97: | víš͛te kakvò se ʾisplьni bl͒gvenïe u dom udovícinь | See, how a blessing was fulfilled in the house of the widow! |
98: | u wnóva vréme kolíko béx(u) čl̃veci bg͂ati sásь srebrò ʾi sasь zláto | How rich were the people in that time with silver and gold! |
99: | ʾi páki umíraxu za xlébь ʾi za vódu | And - they were dying for bread and water. |
100: | ʾá ʾwnaja ženà ʾimaše | And that woman had (it). |
101: | dovolno ʾédeše ʾi piéše | She ate and drank enough. |
102: | ʾi dogde posedè ʾilía u domь vdovicinь pobolé se deté na ʾwnája vdovica [...] | And as Elijah sat in the house of the widow, the child of the widow became ill. |
103: | ʾi doide samrьtь | And (his) death came. |
104: | ʾi umre | And he died. |
105: | ʾi požali ženà na proroka ʾilíju | And the woman lamented to Prophet Elijah. |
106: | ʾi réče | And she said: |
107: | člvéče božíĭ došьl͛ si do túka | ʺO man of God, you have come here.ʺ |
108: | pomenì gréxь móĭ | ʺRemember my sin!ʺ |
109: | umre sínь móĭ | ʺMy son died.ʺ |
110: | ʾá ʾilija réče | And Elijah said: |
111: | dáĭ mi sína tvoegò | ʺGive me your son!ʺ |
112: | ʾi uze go ʾwt ruke maʾikini mù | And he took him from his mother's hands. |
113: | ʾi zanése go támo kadè sam sedéše | And he brought him there, where he was staying himself. |
114: | ʾi slóži go na postélju svojù | And he put him on his bed. |
115: | ʾi duxnu na négo trì puti | And he breathed on him thrice. |
116: | ʾi réče prorok | And the Prophet said: |
117: | bž̃e vo ʾime tvoè da sè povrь´ne dš̃a na deté to va utrobu | ʺO God, may the soul of the child returns to its body in your name!ʺ |
118: | ʾi bg̃ь posluša mol͛bu ʾilíĭnu | And God listened to the Elijah's prayer. |
119: | ī ʾwživè deté to | And the child became alive. |
120: | ʾi dáde go prorokь máĭke mu u ruke | And the Prophet put him to his mother's hands. |
121: | ī réče | And he said: |
122: | žéno ʾétè ʾwživè sínь tvóĭ | ʺO woman, see, your son became alive.ʺ |
123: | ʾi réče ženà | And the woman said: |
124: | sьgà poznáxь ʾjá če ístʾi-na sì člvékь bž̃ïi bílь | ʺNow I understand, that you truly were a man of God.ʺ |
125: | ʾi po tovà. mináxu tri gódinь | And afterwards, three years passed. |
126: | ʾi réče bg̃ь ʾilïjù | And God said to Elijah: |
127: | ʾidì ʾjáví se ʾáxávu knézu da dadéme dьžь na zémlju | ʺGo (and) show yourself to King Ahab, (telling) that we (are going to) give rain to the land.ʺ |
128: | zʾášto e golémь gládь na zémlju | ʺBecause there is a great famine in the land.ʺ |
129: | mlógo čl̃vci pomréxu wt gladi | ʺMany people died of hunger.ʺ |
130: | ʾi axavь prizovà svoégo nastóinika | And Ahab summoned his minister. |
131: | ʾime mù béše ʾávdía | His name was Obadiah. |
132: | ʾonь sé ʾjáko boéše bg̃u | He feared God a lot. |
133: | ʾá ženà ʾáxávovà ʾélьzavéla béše ʾizmórila svì popóve xr͒tiʾán͛sk(i) služítele bž͂ïi | And Jezebel, the wife of Ahab, had murdered all the Christian (sic) priests, servants of God. |
134: | ʾávdía uze stó mužïe ʾw´t níxь | Obadiah took a hundred of men from among them (the priests). |
135: | ʾi razdelí gi, po pet͛ desétь | And he divided them to groups of fifty. |
136: | ʾi skrí gi u dvè péšteri | And he hid them into two caverns. |
137: | ʾi támo gi kriʾwma xráneše | And he was feeding them (in) hiding, |

145: | ʾi rázdeli se vóĭská ta na dvóe | And the army divided into two parts. |
146: | ʾōtidè ʾáxávь na edna strána | Ahab went to one side, |
147: | ʾi avdía na drúgu | and Obadiah (went) to the other (side). |
148: | ʾi kato ʾideše ʾávdía po póle sréšnu proroka ʾiliju | And as Obadiah was going in the field, he met Prophet Elijah |
149: | ʾi kato gò vide ʾonь páde | And as he saw him, he fell. |
150: | ʾi poklonï mu se | And he bowed to him. |
151: | ʾí réče mu | And he said to him: |
152: | tí li si gd͒ine ʾilía | ʺSir, are you Elijah?ʺ |

157: | ʾi xóčešь sьga da umrešь | ʺAnd you are going to die now!ʺ |
158: | no ʾáko možešь skrí se žíva da búdetь dš̃a tvojà | ʺBut hide, if you can, so that your soul will be alive!ʺ |

167: | ʾá ti go sámь čékašь túka da tè náĭde | ʺAnd you wait for him yourself, so that he finds you?!ʺ |
168: | no danó doide dx̃ь bž̃ïi da tè zéme wt túka | ʺBut may the Holy Spirit comes to take you from here!ʺ |
169: | ʾi da dóĭde ʾáxávь da tè ne naide | ʺAnd when (?) Ahab comes, may he does not find you.ʺ |

188: | ʾi četirì stótinь popóve ʾevréĭski štoto ʾedutь ʾelzavélinь xlébь zapráti cr̃ь | And the king sent 400 Hebrew priests, who eat the bread of Jezebel. |
189: | ʾi sabráxu se | And they assembled. |
190: | ʾi poidóxu na goru krьmílьskuju | And they went to the Mount Carmel. |

193: | ʾáko bude bg̃ь ʾi xr͒tósь prédь vásь víe ʾidéte po níxь | ʺIf God and Christ will be in front of you, follow them!ʺ |

212: | ʾi turixa go wzgorь na drьvá ta | And they put it on the wood. |
213: | ʾi svi go ʾwbikolíxu wt ná wkolь | And all went around it. |
214: | wt zorù dó pladne vikáxu sásь golémь glásь kolíko móžexu | From the dawn to the noon, they shouted with a strong voice, as much as they could. |
215: | molexu se bg̃u svoʾemu | They prayed to their god. |
216: | ʾi dúmaxu | And they were saying: |
217: | vaálь vaálь uslišì násь | ʺ(O) Baal, (o) Baal, listen to us!ʺ |

223: | ʾá st̃i ʾilía ʾim͛ se prismejà | And St. Elijah laughed at them. |
224: | ʾi réče | And he said: |
225: | víkaĭte pó visoko | ʺShout stronger!ʺ |
226: | da ne bude; zaspálь bg͂ь vášь | ʺPerhaps your god fell asleep?ʺ |
227: | ʾili e glúxь | ʺOr is he deaf?ʺ |
228: | ta tol͛ko vréme víkate | ʺFor you shout for so much time!ʺ |
229: | ʾi ne móže da vì čue | ʺAnd he cannot hear you.ʺ |

231: | ʾi koliko móžexu víkaxu | And they were shouting as much as they could. |
232: | ʾi sasь nožéve réžexu svóĭ grúdi | And they were cutting their breasts with knives. |
233: | nь záludu trudíxa se | But they struggled in vain. |
234: | ʾi priʾide blízu véčerь | And they evening was closing in. |
235: | ʾi ne možéxu da sotvóratь nikakvo znaménïe | And they could not work any sign. |
236: | togíva réče prorokь ʾilía | Then Prophet Elijah said: |
237: | stanéte víe i ʾjá da se; pomólimь bg̃u moému | ʺYou, stand up, so that I, too, pray to my god!ʺ |
238: | ʾi uze dva ná deset kámene | And he took twelve stones. |
239: | ʾi zazidá gi na ʾwkolь kato ʾwborь | And he placed them around as a fence. |
240: | ʾi iskopà meždu kámene te trápь dlьbok | And he dug a deep hole between the stones. |
241: | ʾi naturà drь´va u trápo | And he threw the wood into the hole. |
242: | ʾi zákla drugia vólь | And he slaughtered the second ox. |
243: | ʾi túri go góre vrьzь drьva ta | And he put him on the top of the wood. |
244: | ʾi réče na ʾwnïę popóve ʾidol͛ski ʾi na svь sabórь što béše támo | And he said to those heathen priests and all the assembly, which was there: |
245: | ʾidete doneséte vódu mlógo koliko víe xočete | ʺGo (and) bring a lot of water, as much as you want!ʺ |
246: | ʾisípete ju vrьzь volá togo | ʺPour it on the ox!ʺ |
247: | ʾi poljáite drьva ta | ʺAnd wash the wood (with it)!ʺ |
248: | ʾi réče imь | And he said to them: |

ʾá st̃i ʾilía dígnu ʾwč̃i ʾi ruke góre na nb̃o | St. Elijah raised his eyes and hands to the sky. | |

258: | bž̃e: móĭ usliší me dnésь | ʺO my God, listen to me today,ʺ |
da se zapáli oʾgnь wt bezmérnuju sílu tvoju | ʺso that the fire is ignited by your immeasurable power,ʺ | |
da vídutь tía ne rázumni ljúdïe | ʺso that those unreasonable people see,ʺ | |

ʾi da poĭdutь po zakónь tvóĭ gd͒i | ʺand that they walk in Your law, o Lord!ʺ | |
262: | táko réče ʾilía | Thus spoke Elijah. |
263: | ʾi u tója; čásь páde ʾóg͂nь wt nb͒a | And in that moment, fire fell from the heavens. |
264: | ʾi zapalíxu se; drьvá ta | And the wood was ignited. |
265: | ʾi ïzgorè vólo | And the ox was burned. |
266: | dáko béxu ʾelíne naplьníli trápo sásь vódu plámikь; poliza ʾi vódu | Although the heathens had filled the hole with water, the flame licked the water too. |
267: | ʾisuši | It dried (the hole). |
268: | ʾi brégove pogori na trápo | And it burned the edges of the hole. |
269: | togíva svi ljúdie vidóxu čúdo preslávnoe | Then, all the people saw the most glorious miracle. |

272: | ʾi rékoxu | And they said: |
273: | vo ʾistinu ʾi po pravdu | ʺTruly and in truth,ʺ |
tovà e ʾistini; gd͒ь bg̃ь po svь st̃ь. | ʺthis is the true Lord God of (?) the whole world.ʺ | |
274: | togíva réče prorókь ʾilia na tïę ʾeline što pover͛vaxu | Then Prophet Elijah said to the heathens, which started to believe: |

276: | nïkoĭ da ne pobégne wt níxь | ʺMay not a single one of them runs away!ʺ |
277: | ʾi zavede gi u ʾedin͛ súxi dólь | And he brought them to a dry valley. |
278: | zovéše se dólw kísovь | The valley was called Kishon. |
279: | ʾi támo ʾisьséče ʾilia popóve te ʾidol͛ski ʾwʾsmь stótinь ʾi pe desétь | And there Elijah killed the eight hundred and fifty idolatrous priests. |
280: | ʾi po tovà réče ʾilìa ʾáxávu cr̃u | Afterwards Elijah said to King Ahab: |
281: | ʾidi si dóma | ʺGo home!ʺ |
282: | zaštó če skóro da udári dь´žь | ʺBecause the rain will hit soon!ʺ |
283: | ʾi poide ʾáxávь da sè skrie wt dь´žь | And Ahab went to hide himself from the rain. |
284: | prorokь ʾilia ʾizléze na goru krьmil͛skuju | Prophet Elijah climbed to the Mount Carmel. |
285: | ʾi séde na zemlju | And he sat on the ground. |
286: | ʾi turi si glávu méždu koléna | And he put his head between the knees. |
287: | ʾi réče na slugu svoju | And he said to his servant: |
288: | ʾidi na móre to da vídiš ʾima li wt bg̃a nekoi znaménïe | ʺGo to the sea to see, whether there is any sign from God!ʺ |
289: | ʾōtidè slugà | The servant went. |
290: | ʾi pogledà | And he looked. |
291: | ʾi ne vide ni ʾedno znaménïe | And he saw to sign. |
292: | pakí réče ʾilia | Again, Elijah said: |
293: | ʾidi: do sédmь puti dá vidišь | ʺGo up to seven times to see!ʺ |
294: | ʾi xodì | And he went. |
295: | ʾi sédmija putь vidè ʾwblakь málakь kol͛ko péda čl͂véčeska dígaše se wt móre | And (as he went for the) seventh time, he saw a small cloud, like a foot of a man, rising from the sea. |
296: | páki réče prorokь ʾilia na slugù svojù | Again, Elijah said to his servant: |
297: | ʾidi reči ʾáxavu da uprégne svojù kočíju da pobégne vь dómь svóĭ wt dь´žь | ʺGo (and) tell Ahab to harness his chariot, to run home from the rain!ʺ |
298: | ʾi tolíko mlógo dь´žь udarì | And so much rain fell! |
299: | ʾi ne možè da dostígne ʾáxavь do dómь svóĭ | And Ahab could not reach his home. |
300: | ʾōtidè na drúgi grádь | He went to another city. |
301: | ʾi st̃i ʾilia pobéže u tója grádь wt dьžda | And St. Elijah ran into that city from the rain (too). |
302: | ʾi po nékolíko dnì kogì préstanu dьždo ʾōtidé si ʾáxavь na dómь svóĭ | And after some days, when the rain stopped, Ahab returned to his home. |
303: | ʾi káza na ženù svojù ʾelьzavé(í)li | And he told (about it) to his wife Jezebel. |
304: | ʾi réče | And he said: |
305: | etè kakvo sotvorì prorokь ʾilia | ʺBehold, what Prophet Elijah did!ʺ |
306: | pogubi svì te popóve náši što béxu pódь ruku tvoju žéno moʾjá | ʺHe killed all the priests, who were under our hand, o my wife!ʺ |
307: | togíva se ʾjáko ʾwskrьbì elzavéla | Then Jezebel became very sad. |
308: | ʾi réče srьdíto | And she said angrily: |
309: | da mè porazutь; móĭ velíki bg̃ove ʾáko ʾjá ne pogubimь; ʾiliju | ʺMay my great gods struck me down, if I will not destroy Elijah!ʺ |
310: | kói čásь e ʾiséklь ʾónь móĭ te popove | ʺThe hour, at which he had killed my priests,ʺ |

315: | ʾi támo ʾwstavì slúga svoégo | And there he left his servant. |

379: | ʾi réče ʾilía ʾeliseju | And Elijah said to Elisha: |

444: | ʾi uze ʾelíséĭ kožúxь ʾilíĭnь | And Elisha took the Elijah's fur coat. |

455: | ʾi razdeli se vodà na dvoè | And the water separated into two. |
456: | ʾi promináxu po sredь kato pó suxo | And they passed through the middle as on a dry (way). |
