8:	St̃i slávni prookь ʾilíja béše se rodil prédь xr͒ta ʾósamь stótinь ʾi šésь ná desetь godinь pó naprédь	Holy glorious Prophet Eliah was born 816 years before the Christ.
9:	báština mu béše tezvía grádь	His homeland was the town of Tishbe.
10:	ʾi baštu negóvago zovéxu savákь	And his father was called Savah.
11:	ʾi kogí go ródi máĭkja negóva	And when his mother gave birth to him,
	présь tʾája nóštь vide ʾóc͂ь negóvь sь´nь	in that night his father saw a dream,
	káko nékoi sasь. beli rízi preméneni ʾi došlì	as some (people) clad in white shirts came.
12:	ʾi turíli rúku na négo	And they put a hand on him.
13:	ʾi povívaxa go sásь ʾog͛nь	And they wrapped him in fire.
14:	ʾi dávaxa mù plámikь da sísa ʾi ʾwgnь da ʾede	And they were giving him flame to suck and fire to eat.
15:	u jutró to kogì se sobúdi ʾwnь pómisli kakò strášenь sñь vidè	And when his mother gave birth to him,
16:	ʾi ʾōtide na er͒limьskì mónastírь	And he went to a monastery in Jerusalem.
17:	ʾi kazà na popóve te kakóvь sь´nь vidè	And he said to the priests, what kind of dream he saw,
	ʾi koe znaménïe pokazuet͛ se na tóę sь´nь	and (to ask?) what sign is shown in the dream.
18:	ʾi rekóxa mu popóve te	And the priests said to him:
19:	ne bóĭ se čl͂veče	ʺHave no fear, o man!ʺ
20:	na tova detè rabota xóče da búde st̃ь	ʺThe works (?) of this child will be holy (?)ʺ
21:	negóva réčь xóče da bude wtréčena	ʺHis word shall be denied.ʺ
22:	ʾi živótь negóvь xóče da búde sasь bóga	ʺAnd his life shall be with God.ʺ
23:	ʾi míslь negóvь xóče da bude bg̃u ugódenь	ʺAnd his mind shall please God.ʺ
24:	ʾi xóče da súdi na nevér͛nici sasь ʾwrúžie ʾi sasь ʾógnь	ʺAnd he shall judge unbelievers with weapons and fire.ʺ
25:	takó mu rékoxu: popóve te ïerusalím͛ski	Thus spoke the priests of Jerusalem to him.
26:	ʾi onь sì otíde na dómь svóĭ	And he went to his home.
27:	ʾi nadaše se da vídi.	And he hoped to see,
	što xóče da búde	what will happen,
	ʾi kakvò dobro xočet se sovrьšíti	and what good will be done,
	ʾi kolíko delà ʾi čude͒a sьtvory	and how many works and miracles he will make.
28:	wt kakvò poče da próročestvúva ʾimaše ʾédinь cr̃ь	Since he began to prophesize, there was a king.
29:	ʾime mu béše ʾáxavь	His name was Ahab.
30:	ʾi ne čestívь	And (he was) dishonorable.
31:	ne vérvaše ʾistinago bg̃a	He did not believe (in) the True God.
32:	ʾi uze sébe ženù	And he took himself a wife.
33:	ʾime i béše elьzavela	Her name was Jezebel.
34:	ʾi tolíko béše bezbóžna	And she was so godless!
35:	nikakvo ne može da poznáe ʾistinago bg̃a	She could not know the True God in any way.
36:	nelo se poklanjaxu na ĭdole katò bg̃u	And they bowed to the idols like to God.
37:	ʾi narekoxa mu ʾime voʾalь bg̃ь	And they gave him the name God Baal.
38:	ʾi va ʾonija vremena xódeše prorokь ʾilia po zémlju:	And in those times, Prophet Elijah walked the Earth.
39:	ʾi vidè kakò cr̃ь ne počíta ʾistinago bg̃a	And he saw, how the king does not respect the True God,
	no se poklanja na bézьdš̃ni ʾidole	but (that) he bows to soulless idols,
	ʾi sьvь naródь poklánja se na gluxi ʾi na némi ʾidole	and (that) the whole nation bows to deaf and mute idols.
40:	vidè kako xoče sь´vь naródь dá ʾide u múku véčnuju;	He saw, how the whole nation was going to enter the Eternal Torment.
41:	ʾá ʾwnь se rásrьdi	And he became angry.
42:	ʾi réče	And he said:
43:	wx bž̃e móĭ ʾjá. tébe na noze stóimь	ʺO my God, I stand for you on my legs (?)ʺ
44:	večè da nè bude dь´žь ná zemlju dogdè ʾjá réčemь	ʺMay there be no rain on the Earth until I say!ʺ
45:	ʾi svrьší se ʾilíju dúma ta	And the Elijah's word was fulfilled.
46:	ʾi réče bg̃ь	And God said:
47:	ʾidi ʾilíe na ʾistóčna strána dóle	ʺGo, o Elijah, down to the land of the East!ʺ
48:	ʾi skrí se vь suxi dólь što è blízu pri ʾiwr͛dana	ʺAnd hide yourself in the dry valley, which is close to the River Jordan!ʺ
49:	zové se ʾónja dólь xoríѳь	ʺThe valley is called Chorath.ʺ
50:	ʾi ako ʾwžadnéešь támo xóčešь píti vódu wt réku	ʺAnd if you become thirsty, you will drink the water from the river.ʺ
51:	ʾi ʾjá xočemь poveléti gar͛vanu da tì prinósi xlébь i meso	ʺAnd I will command a raven to bring you bread and meat.ʺ
52:	ʾi satvorì prorókь ʾilia kakvoto. mu zapovedà ml͒tvi bg̃ь	And Prophet Elijah did as the merciful God commanded him.
53:	ʾi ʾōtidè tàmo ʾu ʾwnja suxi dólь	And he went there, to the dry valley.
54:	ʾi séde pódь ʾedinь breg	And he sat under a hill.
55:	ʾi na sváki dénь ráno prinóseše ʾému: vrána xlébь	And every day in the morning, a crow was bringing bread to him.
56:	ʾi xóčatь nékoi da rečútь	And some may say:
57:	poštò bg̃ь ne prati drúga ptíca	Why did God not send another bird?
58:	nelo práti vránu da sluguva proroku ʾilïju	But He sent a crow to serve Prophet Elijah?
59:	razuméite dobrè xr͒tiăni	Understand well, o Christians!
60:	ʾi da poznáete	May you know:
61:	vrána se zovè čédo nenavísno	The crow is called a hateful child.
62:	ʾwni kogi ʾizmútatь píleta ʾi wstavat͛ gi u gnezdo	When they have birdlings, they leave them in the nest.
63:	ʾi veče ne prixódatь da gí xránat	And they don't come anymore to feed them.
64:	ʾi wni gládni sakatь wt bg̃a da edútь	And they want from God to eat.
65:	ʾi skričutь sásь ʾusta nagóre	And they cry with mouths up.
66:	ʾi bg͂ь milostívi ʾimь práti mal͛ki mušici	And the merciful God sends them small flies.
67:	ʾi ʾwni gi poglь´tatь	And they eat them.
68:	ʾi xranat͛ se sámi	And they feed themselves alone,
	dogde porastutь da frь´knutь wt gnezdò	until they grow up to fly away from the nest.
69:	tolíko e vrána ne ml͒tiva gádina zá svói píleta	So bad and merciless is the crow to its children.
70:	tá zatovà ʾi bg̃ь réče	And that is why God said:
71:	ʾilíw ʾi ti si takóvja ne ml͒tívь kako tíja ne ml͒tivi vráni	ʺO Elijah, you, too, are as merciless as those merciless crows!ʺ
72:	táko ʾi ti ne milúvašь da nè pómratь člvéci wt gládь	ʺYou, too, have no mercy, so that people won't die of hunger.ʺ
73:	no ʾi wšte. ʾi méne pálišь	ʺBut you compel (?) me too,ʺ
	da ne davámь dь´žь na zémlju	ʺso that I give no rain to the land.ʺ
74:	ʾi páki réče bg̃ь proroku ʾiliju:	And God said again to Prophet Elijah:
75:	stáni da ʾide(i)šь u grádь seráftь	ʺStand up and go to the city of Zarephath!ʺ
76:	tamo: ʾima ʾedna ženà sírota vdovíca	ʺThere is one woman, a poor widow.ʺ
77:	ʾi ʾjá xóčemь da povelímь da te naxráni taę sirotíca	ʺAnd I will give a command, so that this poor woman feeds you.ʺ
78:	ʾi ʾōtide ʾilia	And Elijah went.
79:	ʾi vidè ʾednà sírota ženà	And he saw a poor woman.
80:	sьbíraše malo drьv͛ca	She was collecting some wood.
81:	ʾi réče ju	And he said to her:
82:	donesí mi mal͛ko vódu u krьčakь da piʾemь	ʺBring me a bit of water in a pitcher to drink,ʺ
	ʾi mal͛ko xlébь da edémь	ʺand a bit of bread to eat.ʺ
83:	ʾá žená ta réče	And the woman said:
84:	čl̃véče žívь da búde gd͒ь bg̃ь móĭ	ʺO man, long live the Lord, my God!ʺ
85:	ne ʾimamь póveče brášno wt edna kríváčka u kačicu mojù ʾi málo maslo u masleníkь	ʺI don't have more flour than a bit in my jar, and a bit of oil in the bottle.ʺ
86:	ʾi etè sabiramь drьvcà da ʾwmésimь malu tur͛ticu	ʺAnd here, I collect wood to knead a small loaf,ʺ
	da ʾédémь ʾjá ʾi moʾe čédo	ʺso that I and my child eat,ʺ
	(í) pa togíva da umreme	ʺand then, we will die.ʺ
87:	réče ʾeĭ prorokь ʾilía	Prophet Elijah said to her:
88:	ʾw ženò ʾimái nadeždu	ʺO woman, have hope in God!ʺ
	[gd͒ь bg̃ь] na bg̃a	[sidenote] Lord God
89:	ʾidi ʾwmesì prьvínь méne malu tur͛ticu ʾjá dá edémь	ʺGo and knead a small loaf for me first, so that I eat!ʺ
90:	ʾa tì pósle štéšь ʾjásti ʾi tvoe čédo	ʺAnd you and you child will eat then.ʺ
91:	zaštò táko réče: gd͒ь bg̃ь	ʺBecause thus spoke Lord God:ʺ
92:	káčica tvojà ne štè da wpra-znée wt brášno	ʺYour jar shall not become empty of flour,ʺ
	ʾi masleníkь wt maslo	ʺnor your bottle of oil,ʺ
	dogdè dade bg̃ь dь´žь po svù zémlju	ʺuntil God gives rain to all the land.ʺ
93:	ʾi ʾwtide žená ta
94:	ʾi sótvori kakvotó ĭ: réče ʾilía
95:	ʾi wt tója čásь ne ʾwprazne; kačica bezь brašno
96:	vídite lì kakvò táʾja vdovíca sásь ʾédna réčь ʾizvadi xlébь wt svóĭ usta ʾi wt svoè čedo	Do you see, how the widow takes away the bread from her own mouth and her child,
	ʾi dade go stránomu ʾi ne poznanomu čuždin͛cu	and gives it to a strange and unknown man?
97:	víš͛te kakvò se ʾisplьni bl͒gvenïe u dom udovícinь	See, how a blessing was fulfilled in the house of the widow!
98:	u wnóva vréme kolíko béx(u) čl̃veci bg͂ati sásь srebrò ʾi sasь zláto	How rich were the people in that time with silver and gold!
99:	ʾi páki umíraxu za xlébь ʾi za vódu	And - they were dying for bread and water.
100:	ʾá ʾwnaja ženà ʾimaše	And that woman had (it).
101:	dovolno ʾédeše ʾi piéše	She ate and drank enough.
102:	ʾi dogde posedè ʾilía u domь vdovicinь pobolé se deté na ʾwnája vdovica [...]	And as Elijah sat in the house of the widow, the child of the widow became ill.
103:	ʾi doide samrьtь	And (his) death came.
104:	ʾi umre	And he died.
105:	ʾi požali ženà na proroka ʾilíju	And the woman lamented to Prophet Elijah.
106:	ʾi réče	And she said:
107:	člvéče božíĭ došьl͛ si do túka	ʺO man of God, you have come here.ʺ
108:	pomenì gréxь móĭ	ʺRemember my sin!ʺ
109:	umre sínь móĭ	ʺMy son died.ʺ
110:	ʾá ʾilija réče	And Elijah said:
111:	dáĭ mi sína tvoegò	ʺGive me your son!ʺ
112:	ʾi uze go ʾwt ruke maʾikini mù	And he took him from his mother's hands.
113:	ʾi zanése go támo kadè sam sedéše	And he brought him there, where he was staying himself.
114:	ʾi slóži go na postélju svojù	And he put him on his bed.
115:	ʾi duxnu na négo trì puti	And he breathed on him thrice.
116:	ʾi réče prorok	And the Prophet said:
117:	bž̃e vo ʾime tvoè da sè povrь´ne dš̃a na deté to va utrobu	ʺO God, may the soul of the child returns to its body in your name!ʺ
118:	ʾi bg̃ь posluša mol͛bu ʾilíĭnu	And God listened to the Elijah's prayer.
119:	ī ʾwživè deté to	And the child became alive.
120:	ʾi dáde go prorokь máĭke mu u ruke	And the Prophet put him to his mother's hands.
121:	ī réče	And he said:
122:	žéno ʾétè ʾwživè sínь tvóĭ	ʺO woman, see, your son became alive.ʺ
123:	ʾi réče ženà	And the woman said:
124:	sьgà poznáxь ʾjá če ístʾi-na sì člvékь bž̃ïi bílь	ʺNow I understand, that you truly were a man of God.ʺ
125:	ʾi po tovà. mináxu tri gódinь	And afterwards, three years passed.
126:	ʾi réče bg̃ь ʾilïjù	And God said to Elijah:
127:	ʾidì ʾjáví se ʾáxávu knézu da dadéme dьžь na zémlju	ʺGo (and) show yourself to King Ahab, (telling) that we (are going to) give rain to the land.ʺ
128:	zʾášto e golémь gládь na zémlju	ʺBecause there is a great famine in the land.ʺ
129:	mlógo čl̃vci pomréxu wt gladi	ʺMany people died of hunger.ʺ
130:	ʾi axavь prizovà svoégo nastóinika	And Ahab summoned his minister.
131:	ʾime mù béše ʾávdía	His name was Obadiah.
132:	ʾonь sé ʾjáko boéše bg̃u	He feared God a lot.
133:	ʾá ženà ʾáxávovà ʾélьzavéla béše ʾizmórila svì popóve xr͒tiʾán͛sk(i) služítele bž͂ïi	And Jezebel, the wife of Ahab, had murdered all the Christian (sic) priests, servants of God.
134:	ʾávdía uze stó mužïe ʾw´t níxь	Obadiah took a hundred of men from among them (the priests).
135:	ʾi razdelí gi, po pet͛ desétь	And he divided them to groups of fifty.
136:	ʾi skrí gi u dvè péšteri	And he hid them into two caverns.
137:	ʾi támo gi kriʾwma xráneše	And he was feeding them (in) hiding,
	da gì ne isečé ʾi nixь žena ʾél͛ьzavela	so that Jezebel the wife (of Ahab) would not kill them.
138:	pósle prizová cr̃ь ʾáxav ʾávdiju	Then, King Ahab summoned Obadiah.
139:	ʾi réče mu	And he said to him:
140:	ʾelá ʾávdíw	ʺCome, o Obadiah!ʺ

	danó bi: nášli négde tréva za koní te naši	ʺso that (we) would find somewhere grass for our horses,ʺ

142:	zaštó ni své pomréxu koni te wt gládi	Because all the horses died of hunger.
143:	zaštó u tía tri godinь né maše ʾédnà kápka dь´žь na zemlju	As there was not a drop of rain for three years in the land.
144:	zašto ne počítaxu bg̃a	Because they did not respect God.
145:	ʾi rázdeli se vóĭská ta na dvóe	And the army divided into two parts.
146:	ʾōtidè ʾáxávь na edna strána	Ahab went to one side,
147:	ʾi avdía na drúgu	and Obadiah (went) to the other (side).
148:	ʾi kato ʾideše ʾávdía po póle sréšnu proroka ʾiliju	And as Obadiah was going in the field, he met Prophet Elijah
149:	ʾi kato gò vide ʾonь páde	And as he saw him, he fell.
150:	ʾi poklonï mu se	And he bowed to him.
151:	ʾí réče mu	And he said to him:
152:	tí li si gd͒ine ʾilía	ʺSir, are you Elijah?ʺ
153:	réče prorokь	The Prophet said:
154:	ʾjá smь	ʺI am.ʺ
155:	paki réče ʾávdíja	Obadiah said again:
156:	poštò gd͒íne ne žálišь svóego života	ʺSir, why don't you care for your life?ʺ
157:	ʾi xóčešь sьga da umrešь	ʺAnd you are going to die now!ʺ
158:	no ʾáko možešь skrí se žíva da búdetь dš̃a tvojà	ʺBut hide, if you can, so that your soul will be alive!ʺ

165:	sví te pogubi cr̃ь ʾáxavь	ʺKing Ahab killed them all.ʺ
166:	ʾi na ʾwganь gi ʾizgori	ʺAnd he burned them on a fire.ʺ
167:	ʾá ti go sámь čékašь túka da tè náĭde	ʺAnd you wait for him yourself, so that he finds you?!ʺ
168:	no danó doide dx̃ь bž̃ïi da tè zéme wt túka	ʺBut may the Holy Spirit comes to take you from here!ʺ
169:	ʾi da dóĭde ʾáxávь da tè ne naide	ʺAnd when (?) Ahab comes, may he does not find you.ʺ
170:	nalì xóče méne posékti zaradì tébe	ʺWould he not cut me down because of you?ʺ
171:	réče ʾilía	Elijah said:
172:	ne bóĭ se ʾávdíw	ʺHave no fear, o Obadiah!ʺ
173:	sasь bž̃ïju sílu dnéska e vréme da sè ʾjávimь ʾjá ʾáxávu cr̃u	ʺWith the power of God, today is the time for me to appear to King Ahab.ʺ
174:	ʾi ʾōtidè ʾávdía	And Obadiah went away.
175:	ʾi naidè ʾáxáva	And he found Ahab.
176:	ʾi pomenu mu za ʾiliju ʾiz daléko	And he reminded him (?) about Elijah from afar.

178:	ʾi vidé go	And he saw him.

184:	zaštò ʾwstavíx͛te da sè ne poklánjatu xr͒tu bg̃u	ʺWhy did you cease to not (?) bow to Christ the God?ʺ
185:	no se poklánjate na bezdúšni ʾidolè	ʺBut you bow to soulless idols.ʺ
186:	povelì cr̃u da sè zbérutь svì popóve ʾidol͛ski	ʺGive a command, o king, for the all heathen priests to assemble,ʺ
	da póidutь prédь méne da ĭdeme na góru krьmíl͛skuju	ʺto go in front of me to the mountain of Carmel!ʺ
187:	ʾi doidóxu čétiri: stótinь ʾi pe desétь popóve elin͛ski	And 450 heathen priests came.
188:	ʾi četirì stótinь popóve ʾevréĭski štoto ʾedutь ʾelzavélinь xlébь zapráti cr̃ь	And the king sent 400 Hebrew priests, who eat the bread of Jezebel.
189:	ʾi sabráxu se	And they assembled.
190:	ʾi poidóxu na goru krьmílьskuju	And they went to the Mount Carmel.
191:	kogí gi vide ʾília ʾá onь ʾimь rečé	When Elijah saw them, he said:
192:	zaštó xrómete ʾi sásь dvé te nóze	ʺWhy do you walk as lame with both legs?ʺ
193:	ʾáko bude bg̃ь ʾi xr͒tósь prédь vásь víe ʾidéte po níxь	ʺIf God and Christ will be in front of you, follow them!ʺ
194:	ʾáko lì búde vášь váʾalь bg̃ь prédь vásь ʾá víe pa ʾidéte po nego	ʺ(But) if your God Baal will be in front of you, go with him!ʺ
195:	ʾá ʾwnja naródь níkakvo né produmà	And the people did not say anything.

202:	ʾi pomoléte se bg̃u vášemu	ʺBut pray to your god!ʺ
203:	kóĭ bg̃ь púšte ʾwgnь da ʾizgóri volʾá tomúva bg̃u svì da sè poklónimo	ʺLet us all bow to that god, who sends fire to burn the ox.ʺ
204:	ʾi svь sobórь produma:	And all the assembly said:

206:	dobrè réče ʾilía	ʺElijah spoke well!ʺ
207:	pa réče ʾilía na popóve te	Again, Elijah spoke to the priests:
208:	ʾeláte víe naprédь	ʺGo forward!ʺ
209:	ta pomoléte bg̃a vášego	ʺAnd ask your god!ʺ
210:	ʾi napravíxu popóve te kakvóto ʾimь réče st̃i prorokь ʾilia	And the priests did, what the holy Prophet Elijah told them.
211:	zakláxu volá togo	They slaughtered the ox.
212:	ʾi turixa go wzgorь na drьvá ta	And they put it on the wood.
213:	ʾi svi go ʾwbikolíxu wt ná wkolь	And all went around it.
214:	wt zorù dó pladne vikáxu sásь golémь glásь kolíko móžexu	From the dawn to the noon, they shouted with a strong voice, as much as they could.
215:	molexu se bg̃u svoʾemu	They prayed to their god.
216:	ʾi dúmaxu	And they were saying:
217:	vaálь vaálь uslišì násь	ʺ(O) Baal, (o) Baal, listen to us!ʺ
218:	uslišì	ʺListen (to us)!ʺ
219:	ʾi pot͛palí ni drьvá ta sásь ʾógnь	ʺAnd ignite our wood with fire!ʺ
220:	to nitì bi glásь	(But) there was no voice,
221:	niti gì poslušà níxanь vaálь bg̃ь	nor their God Baal would listen to them.
222:	wní se nádaxu da gí poslúša níxanь vaʾalь bg̃ь	They hoped, that their God Baal will listen to them.
223:	ʾá st̃i ʾilía ʾim͛ se prismejà	And St. Elijah laughed at them.
224:	ʾi réče	And he said:

231:	ʾi koliko móžexu víkaxu	And they were shouting as much as they could.
232:	ʾi sasь nožéve réžexu svóĭ grúdi	And they were cutting their breasts with knives.
233:	nь záludu trudíxa se	But they struggled in vain.
234:	ʾi priʾide blízu véčerь	And they evening was closing in.
235:	ʾi ne možéxu da sotvóratь nikakvo znaménïe	And they could not work any sign.
236:	togíva réče prorokь ʾilía	Then Prophet Elijah said:
237:	stanéte víe i ʾjá da se; pomólimь bg̃u moému	ʺYou, stand up, so that I, too, pray to my god!ʺ
238:	ʾi uze dva ná deset kámene	And he took twelve stones.
239:	ʾi zazidá gi na ʾwkolь kato ʾwborь	And he placed them around as a fence.
240:	ʾi iskopà meždu kámene te trápь dlьbok	And he dug a deep hole between the stones.
241:	ʾi naturà drь´va u trápo	And he threw the wood into the hole.
242:	ʾi zákla drugia vólь	And he slaughtered the second ox.
243:	ʾi túri go góre vrьzь drьva ta	And he put him on the top of the wood.
244:	ʾi réče na ʾwnïę popóve ʾidol͛ski ʾi na svь sabórь što béše támo	And he said to those heathen priests and all the assembly, which was there:
245:	ʾidete doneséte vódu mlógo koliko víe xočete	ʺGo (and) bring a lot of water, as much as you want!ʺ
246:	ʾisípete ju vrьzь volá togo	ʺPour it on the ox!ʺ
247:	ʾi poljáite drьva ta	ʺAnd wash the wood (with it)!ʺ
248:	ʾi réče imь	And he said to them:
249:	poftoréte	ʺRepeat!ʺ
250:	ta polʾjáite	ʺAnd pour!ʺ
251:	ʾi poftoríxu	And they repeated.
252:	potretéte	ʺRepeat again!ʺ
253:	ʾi potretixu	And they repeated again.
254:	ʾi naplьnixu ʾonjá trápь plь´nь: sásь vódu	And they filled the hole (making it) full with water.
255:	vídite lì kolíka čudesà: tvóri st̃i ʾilía	Do you see, o Christians, how many miracles does St. Elijah do,
	da razuméjutь bezakoni elíne što è ʾistini bg̃ь	so that the lawless pagans understand, who is the True God?
256:	kogì poljáxu elíne volà ʾi drьvá ta	When the heathens washed the ox and the wood,
	ʾá st̃i ʾilía dígnu ʾwč̃i ʾi ruke góre na nb̃o	St. Elijah raised his eyes and hands to the sky.
257:	ʾi réče	And he said:
258:	bž̃e: móĭ usliší me dnésь	ʺO my God, listen to me today,ʺ
	da se zapáli oʾgnь wt bezmérnuju sílu tvoju	ʺso that the fire is ignited by your immeasurable power,ʺ
	da vídutь tía ne rázumni ljúdïe	ʺso that those unreasonable people see,ʺ
	ʾi da poznájutь če sì tì vsè sílenь bg̃ь	ʺand that they understand, that you are the all-powerful God,ʺ
	ʾi da vídutь méne če smь´ ʾi ja rábь tvóĭ	ʺand so that they see me, that I am your servant too!ʺ
259:	rádi tébe sotvoríxь tovà čudo	ʺFor Your sake I did this miracle!ʺ
260:	usliší me gd͒i: bž̃e móĭ	ʺListen to me, o Lord, my God!ʺ
261:	sotvorì znaménïe bl̃go da poverújutь ʾéline	ʺMake a good sign, so that the heathens believe,ʺ
	ʾi da poĭdutь po zakónь tvóĭ gd͒i	ʺand that they walk in Your law, o Lord!ʺ
262:	táko réče ʾilía	Thus spoke Elijah.
263:	ʾi u tója; čásь páde ʾóg͂nь wt nb͒a	And in that moment, fire fell from the heavens.
264:	ʾi zapalíxu se; drьvá ta	And the wood was ignited.
265:	ʾi ïzgorè vólo	And the ox was burned.
266:	dáko béxu ʾelíne naplьníli trápo sásь vódu plámikь; poliza ʾi vódu	Although the heathens had filled the hole with water, the flame licked the water too.
267:	ʾisuši	It dried (the hole).
268:	ʾi brégove pogori na trápo	And it burned the edges of the hole.
269:	togíva svi ljúdie vidóxu čúdo preslávnoe	Then, all the people saw the most glorious miracle.

271:	ʾi pokloníxu se	and they bowed.
272:	ʾi rékoxu	And they said:
273:	vo ʾistinu ʾi po pravdu	ʺTruly and in truth,ʺ
	tovà e ʾistini; gd͒ь bg̃ь po svь st̃ь.	ʺthis is the true Lord God of (?) the whole world.ʺ
274:	togíva réče prorókь ʾilia na tïę ʾeline što pover͛vaxu	Then Prophet Elijah said to the heathens, which started to believe:
275:	zapréte sví te popóve vaʾalovi	ʺSeize the priests of Baal!ʺ
276:	nïkoĭ da ne pobégne wt níxь	ʺMay not a single one of them runs away!ʺ
277:	ʾi zavede gi u ʾedin͛ súxi dólь	And he brought them to a dry valley.
278:	zovéše se dólw kísovь	The valley was called Kishon.
279:	ʾi támo ʾisьséče ʾilia popóve te ʾidol͛ski ʾwʾsmь stótinь ʾi pe desétь	And there Elijah killed the eight hundred and fifty idolatrous priests.
280:	ʾi po tovà réče ʾilìa ʾáxávu cr̃u	Afterwards Elijah said to King Ahab:
281:	ʾidi si dóma	ʺGo home!ʺ
282:	zaštó če skóro da udári dь´žь	ʺBecause the rain will hit soon!ʺ
283:	ʾi poide ʾáxávь da sè skrie wt dь´žь	And Ahab went to hide himself from the rain.
284:	prorokь ʾilia ʾizléze na goru krьmil͛skuju	Prophet Elijah climbed to the Mount Carmel.
285:	ʾi séde na zemlju	And he sat on the ground.
286:	ʾi turi si glávu méždu koléna	And he put his head between the knees.
287:	ʾi réče na slugu svoju	And he said to his servant:
288:	ʾidi na móre to da vídiš ʾima li wt bg̃a nekoi znaménïe	ʺGo to the sea to see, whether there is any sign from God!ʺ
289:	ʾōtidè slugà	The servant went.
290:	ʾi pogledà	And he looked.
291:	ʾi ne vide ni ʾedno znaménïe	And he saw to sign.
292:	pakí réče ʾilia	Again, Elijah said:
293:	ʾidi: do sédmь puti dá vidišь	ʺGo up to seven times to see!ʺ
294:	ʾi xodì	And he went.
295:	ʾi sédmija putь vidè ʾwblakь málakь kol͛ko péda čl͂véčeska dígaše se wt móre	And (as he went for the) seventh time, he saw a small cloud, like a foot of a man, rising from the sea.
296:	páki réče prorokь ʾilia na slugù svojù	Again, Elijah said to his servant:
297:	ʾidi reči ʾáxavu da uprégne svojù kočíju da pobégne vь dómь svóĭ wt dь´žь	ʺGo (and) tell Ahab to harness his chariot, to run home from the rain!ʺ
298:	ʾi tolíko mlógo dь´žь udarì	And so much rain fell!
299:	ʾi ne možè da dostígne ʾáxavь do dómь svóĭ	And Ahab could not reach his home.
300:	ʾōtidè na drúgi grádь	He went to another city.
301:	ʾi st̃i ʾilia pobéže u tója grádь wt dьžda	And St. Elijah ran into that city from the rain (too).
302:	ʾi po nékolíko dnì kogì préstanu dьždo ʾōtidé si ʾáxavь na dómь svóĭ	And after some days, when the rain stopped, Ahab returned to his home.
303:	ʾi káza na ženù svojù ʾelьzavé(í)li	And he told (about it) to his wife Jezebel.
304:	ʾi réče	And he said:
305:	etè kakvo sotvorì prorokь ʾilia	ʺBehold, what Prophet Elijah did!ʺ
306:	pogubi svì te popóve náši što béxu pódь ruku tvoju žéno moʾjá	ʺHe killed all the priests, who were under our hand, o my wife!ʺ
307:	togíva se ʾjáko ʾwskrьbì elzavéla	Then Jezebel became very sad.
308:	ʾi réče srьdíto	And she said angrily:
309:	da mè porazutь; móĭ velíki bg̃ove ʾáko ʾjá ne pogubimь; ʾiliju	ʺMay my great gods struck me down, if I will not destroy Elijah!ʺ
310:	kói čásь e ʾiséklь ʾónь móĭ te popove	ʺThe hour, at which he had killed my priests,ʺ
	tója čásь ʾi ja négo da pogúbimь	ʺmay I kill him at the same hour too!ʺ
311:	ʾi kato ču ʾilia takáva duma kato; čl̃vékь próstь ubojá se	And as Elijah heard such a word, he became afraid, as a simple man.
312:	ʾi pobéže	And he ran away.
313:	ʾi ōtide do ʾedinь grádь	And he went to one city.
314:	zovéše se ver͛savéĭ	It was called Beersheba.
315:	ʾi támo ʾwstavì slúga svoégo	And there he left his servant.
316:	ʾá wnь ʾwdide u pústinju daléko dvà dnì xóda	And he went into the desert far (as) for two days of walk.
317:	ʾi séde podь ʾednò drь´vo na sén͛kju	And he set beneath a tree in a shadow.
318:	ʾi légnu ʾilia dá pospì	And Elijah laid himself down to sleep.
319:	ʾi dóĭde ʾáñgelь gd͒nь	And an angeld of God came.
320:	ʾi rázbudi go	And he woke him.
321:	ʾi réče mu	And he said to him:
322:	stáni ʾilíe da ʾedešь:	ʺStand up to eat!ʺ
323:	ʾi onь stánu	And he stood up.
324:	ʾi naidè pri uzglávïe ʾédinь: xlébь ʾečménь ʾi krьčágь vodu	And he found a barley bread and a jar of water next to his pillow.

326:	ʾi napi se vodu	And he drank a bit of water.

328:	ʾi añgel paki dóĭde	And the angel came again.
329:	ʾi razbudí go	And he woke him.

332:	ì pi vodu	ʺAnd drink water!ʺ

335:	ʾi razuméite kolíka e sila bž̃ia goléma	And understand, how great is the power of God!
336:	sásь w´nova ʾjádene ʾilía silì ʾi ukrepí se	And with that meal, Elijah got strength and power.
337:	ʾi xodi *m* dni i *m* nóšti	And he walked for 40 days and 40 nights,
	dogdè dóĭde do góru sinaʾiskuju	until he reached Mount Sinai.
338:	ʾi támo uleze u ednù péšteru	And there he entered a cave.
339:	ʾi dóĭde gd͒ь pri négo	And the Lord came to him.
340:	ʾi réče mu	And he said to him:
341:	pošto sedíšь túka ʾilíe	ʺWhy do you sit here, o Elijah?ʺ
342:	ʾá ónь réče	And he said:
343:	gd͒i; mlógo popóve ʾidol͛ski pogubìxь	ʺO Lord, I killed many idolatrous priests.ʺ
344:	toko ʾjá sámь ʾwstanúxь	ʺOnly I remained.ʺ
345:	ʾi živótь móĭ sàka ženà ʾélьzavéla	ʺAnd the woman Jezebel wants my life,ʺ
	da mè pogúbi do kon͛ca	ʺto kill me for good (lit. to the end).ʺ
346:	ʾá gd͒ь mu réče	And the Lord said to him:
347:	ʾilíe jútre ráno stanì	ʺO Elijah, stand up early in the morning!ʺ
348:	ʾi ïzleznì ʾisь péšteru	ʺAnd leave the cavern.ʺ
349:	i ʾja xočem da dóĭdemь pri tébe da púštimь silen vétrь da razváljamь góri ʾi kámene:	ʺAnd I will come to you, sending a strong wind to break mountains and stones.ʺ
350:	no ne móžeš͛ me vidéti tamo	ʺBut you cannot see me there.ʺ
351:	ʾi xóče: velíki trúsь da búde	ʺAnd (there) will be a great earthquake.ʺ
352:	ʾi po trusь xóče da bude ʾógnь	ʺAnd after the earthquake, there will be fire.ʺ
353:	páki ʾjá tamo ne štémь da budemь	ʺAgain, I will not be there.ʺ
354:	ʾi po ʾógьnʾjá xóče da bude glasь tьnьkь	ʺAnd after the fire, there will be (coming) a soft voice.ʺ
355:	ʾja togíva xóčemь támo da budemь	ʺThen, I will be there.ʺ
356:	ʾi ču prorokь glásь bž̃ïi	And the Prophet heard the voice of God.
357:	ʾi ïzleze ʾis péšteru	And he went out of the cavern.
358:	ʾi pokrì, glávu svojù sasь ʾjarьčovь kožuxь	And he covered his head with a cloak of goat fur.

365:	stáni da idešь nazátь wt kadéto si došlь	ʺStand up, to go back, where you came from,ʺ
	dʾá pot͛kanišь cr̃a ʾeliséja da búde prorokь na mésto tvoè	ʺso that you would invite king (?) Elisha to become a prophet on your place.ʺ
366:	ʾi ʾōtíde támo prorokь ʾilia	And Prophet Elijah went there.
367:	ʾi naidè ʾeliséju	And he found Elisha.
368:	ʾóréše	He was ploughing.
369:	ʾi prïidè ʾilía pri négo	And Elijah came to him.
370:	ʾi pokri go sásь svói kožuxь	And he put his cloak on him.
371:	ʾi réče mu	And he said to him:
372:	ʾelisée wt sьga da bu:dešь móĭ ʾučenikь	ʺO Elisha, from now on, you shall be my follower!ʺ
373:	ʾi eliséĭ togiva; ʾwstavì svè	And then, Elisha left everything.
374:	ʾi poidè po proróka ʾilíju	And he started to follow Prophet Elijah.
375:	ʾi stánu mu ʾučenikь ʾi poslúšnikь	And he became his follower and apprentice.
376:	ʾi u tova vréme sakaše bg̃ь da uzme proroka ʾilíju na nébo	And in that time, God wanted to take Prophet Elijah to the heavens.
377:	ʾá ilía uze ʾučenikà svoégo eliséju	And Elijah took his follower Elisha.
378:	ʾi ōtidóxu do nékoe mesto	And they went to some place.
379:	ʾi réče ʾilía ʾeliseju	And Elijah said to Elisha:
380:	sédi ti tuka	ʺYou sit here!ʺ
381:	méne réče bg̃ь da ídemь do grádь vitílь	ʺGod told me to go to the city of Bethel.ʺ
382:	ʾá eliséi réče	But Elisha said:
383:	da ne bì dálь b̃ь	ʺMay God does not give,ʺ
	da wstánemь ʾjá wt tébe	ʺthat I would stand (away) from you!ʺ
384:	ʾi ōtidóxu ʾi dvoĭca ta u vitílь	And the both went to Bethel.
385:	ʾi čl͂veci ʾimaše u vitilь	And there were (some) people in Bethel.
386:	proročeski sínove béxu	They were sons of prophets.
387:	ʾi rekoxu	And they said:
388:	dnéska xóče bg̃ь da uzme tvoégo učitelja	ʺToday, God will take your teacher.ʺ
389:	réče ʾelisea	Elisha said:
390:	ʾi ja znáemь	ʺI know, too.ʺ
391:	vie toko mlь´čete	ʺYou just be silent!ʺ
392:	páki réče ʾilía eliséju	Again, Elijah said to Elisha:
393:	sedi ti tuka	ʺYou sit here!ʺ
394:	méne pratì bg̃ь da ídemь; do ʾerixónь	ʺGod sent me to go to Jericho.ʺ
395:	ʾá elísèi páki réče	But Elisha said again:
396:	žívь g͒ь	ʺGod (is) living.ʺ
397:	ʾi žíva búdetь dš̃a tvójà ʾáko tè ʾwstavimь	ʺAnd your soul will (not?) be alive, if I leave you alone.ʺ
398:	ōtídoxu ʾi dvoĭca ta do érixónь;	And the both went to Jericho.
399:	ʾi támo ʾimaše sínove proróčeski	And there were sons of prophets (too).
400:	ʾi w;ní mu rékoxu	And they said to him:
401:	ʾelisee da znaešь	ʺMay you know, o Elisha:ʺ
402:	dnéska xóče bg̃ь da uzme tvoégo učitelja	ʺToday, God will take your teacher.ʺ
403:	réče ʾelíseĭ	Elisha said:
404:	ʾi ja znáemь	ʺI know, too.ʺ
405:	víe tokò mlьčete	ʺYou just be silent!ʺ
406:	ʾi tréti pútь réče ʾilía ʾeliséju:	And Elijah said to Elisha for the third time:
407:	sédi ti túka	ʺYou sit here!ʺ
408:	méne práti bg̃ь sámь: da ĭdemь do ĭwrdana	ʺI was sent by God to go alone to Jordan.ʺ
409:	réče ʾeliséĭ	Elisha said:
410:	da ne dadè bg̃ь	ʺMay God does not give,ʺ
	da tè ʾwstávimь da ĭdešь sam	ʺthat I would leave you to go alone!ʺ
411:	ʾi páki ʾōtidóxu dvoĭca ta do iwrdána	And again, they both went to Jordan.
412:	ʾi ne w̌stavi go ʾeliséi nikákvo	And Elisha did not leave him in no way.
413:	ʾi ʾōtidóxu na kráĭ ʾiwrdána ʾi wnia ʾi proročeski te sínove pe dese tex	And the both of them and those fifty sons of prophets went to the shores of Jordan.
414:	ʾá st̃i prorókь ʾilia ʾimaše ʾedínь kožúxь na sébe	And the holy prophet Elijah was wearing a fur coat on himself.
415:	ʾi sobléče go	And he put it down.
416:	ʾi udári vódu iwrdána sásь kožúxo	And he struck the water of Jordan with the fur coat.
417:	ʾi rázdeli se ʾiwrdanь vodà na dvóe	And the water (of) Jordan separated into two.
418:	ʾi napravi se pútь suxь	And a dry way was made.
419:	ʾi mináxu po suxo prezzь onuju réku	And they passed through the river on a dry (way).
420:	togíva réče ʾilia ʾeliséju	Then, Elijah said to Elisha:
421:	što čéšь da sákašь wt méne da tì dadem nékoi dárь	ʺMay I give you a present, what(ever) you will want from me.ʺ
422:	ʾi réče ʾelísèi	And Elisha said:
423:	da prïide nekóĭ dobro méne wt víšjago bg͂a	ʺMay some good from the Highest God comes to me.ʺ
424:	ʾi da próslávimь ʾime tvoè	ʺAnd may I glorify your name.ʺ
425:	réče ʾilía	Elijah said:
426:	ti ʾelisee mlógo dárь sákašь	ʺYou want a great gift, o Elisha.ʺ
427:	ʾáko me vídišь kogí se voznesémь	ʺWhen (?) you see me, when I ascend,ʺ
	da zémešь wt méne kakvo xóčešь	ʺmay (then) you take from me, what you want.ʺ
428:	ʾáko li mè ne móžešь vidéti ti ne štéšь ništo wt méne uzéti	ʺIf you won't be able to see me, you will not take anything from me.ʺ

430:	ʾete kolesníca ʾógnéna dóĭde	(And) behold, a fiery chariot came.
431:	ʾi čétiri kóni ʾógneni ʾi kriláti doʾidoxu	And four fiery and winged horses came.
432:	ta dignáxu proróka ʾiliju	And they lifted Prophet Elijah.
433:	ʾi voznese se na nébo	And he ascended onto the heaven.
434:	kogì go vide ʾeliséĭ če wtvódeše na nb̃sa sásь golémь glásь víknu	When Elisha saw, that he was going to heavens, he cried with a great voice:
435:	ʾwč̃e ʾwč̃e moi ʾete kolesníca ʾógnéna zanósi tébe góre na nebesà	ʺO father, my father, behold, a fiery chariot takes you to the heavens!ʺ
436:	ʾá ja ʾwkajani dole na zémlju ʾwstájamь	ʺAnd me, the wretched one, stays down on the Earth!ʺ
437:	xočutь da rečut cr̃ove ʾevréiski če si sè samovólenь voznésalь na nebesà	ʺKings of Hebrews will tell, that you ascended the heavens on your own.ʺ
438:	tí proroče ʾési ʾwružen sásь ʾwgnéni usta	ʺYou, o Prophet, have been armed with fiery mouth.ʺ
439:	xorotúešь	ʺYou speak,ʺ
440:	ʾi plamenь ʾisxodi ʾisь tvóĭ usta	ʺand a fire comes from your mouth.ʺ
441:	tí si sámovlá(s)nikь	ʺYou are autonomous.ʺ
442:	táko govóreše ʾelíseĭ	Thus spoke Elisha.
443:	ʾá iliʾjá wt visóko puštì kožúxь svóĭ	And Elijah let his fur coat (fall down) from the height.
444:	ʾi uze ʾelíséĭ kožúxь ʾilíĭnь	And Elisha took the Elijah's fur coat.
445:	ʾi ne možè večè da vídi proroka ʾeliséĭ	And Elisha could not see the prophet anymore.
446:	ʾi vrьnu se ʾeliséĭ nazátь	And Elisha returned back.
447:	stígnu do iwrdánь réku	He reached River Jordan.
448:	ʾi udari sásь kožúxo ʾilïinь ʾiwrdána	And he struck Jordan with the fur coat of Elijah.
449:	ʾi ne može da sè razdvòĭ iwrdánь na dvóe	And Jordan could not separate into two.
450:	togíva se mlógo sьžalè ʾeliséju	Then Elisha became very sad.
451:	ʾi réče;	And he said:
452:	gdè ʾéstь bg̃ь ʾóc͂u moému ʾilíju	ʺWhere is the god of my father Elijah?ʺ
453:	da pó;sluša ʾi méne	ʺMay he listens to me too!ʺ
454:	kogi réče tája réčь ʾí udari u vodá ta sasь kožúxo	As he said that word, he struck the water with the fur coat.
455:	ʾi razdeli se vodà na dvoè	And the water separated into two.
456:	ʾi promináxu po sredь kato pó suxo	And they passed through the middle as on a dry (way).
457:	kogí vidóxu sñove proročeski takóvo čudo sví se pokloníxu ʾelíséju do zemli kato sámomu proroku ʾiliju	When the sons of prophets saw this kind of a miracle, they all bowed to Elisha to the ground, as to Prophet Elijah himself.
458:	ʾi da znaʾete xr͒tiáni	And may you know, o Christians,
	če píše u. stári zakonь	that it is written in the Old Testament,
	če e ʾi do dnéska žívь st̃i prorókь ʾilía	that the holy prophet Elijah is alive even until today.
459:	ne è umrélь	He did not die.
460:	ʾi drugo níkakvo ne píše u zakónь	And there is nothing else written in the Law,
	da è st̃i ʾilia na nébo	that (?) St. Elijah would be in the heavens.
461:	neló e túka ná zemlju sásь télo	Because he is on the Earth with body.
462:	ʾi nïe ne móžemo da gò vídimo sásь náši telésni ʾoči	And we cannot see him with our bodily eyes.
463:	zaštó sme ne dostòĭ takóva da vídime	Because we are unworthy to see such (ones).
464:	ʾi na koe e mésto st̃i ʾilia ni ʾedínь st̃ecь ne pisà da se znae kadé e ʾili nékoi cr͂kóvni učítelь;	And not a single saint, nor any of the Church Fathers wrote, on which place St. Elijah is, so that it would be known.

475:	ʾi u tova; vréme xóče da pogubi ʾán͛tíxrisь ʾiliju	And in that time, Antichrist will destroy Elijah.
476:	kogí se dovrь´ši st̃ь	When the world will end,
	támo kude xóče da súdi bg̃ь právedni ʾi grešni	there, where God will judge the righteous and the wicked,
	támo xoče da bude stráxь velíkь ʾi plačь gorьka	there shall be a great fear and bitter cry.
477:	tamo xóče ʾán͛tíxrisь da pobédi ʾilíju u cr̃ь dv͂idovь dvórь	There, Antichrist shall defeat Elijah in the court of King David.
478:	tamo xoče; ʾán͛tíxrisь da wtsečè st̃omu proróku ʾiliju glávu	There, Antichrist will cut off the head of holy prophet Elijah.
479:	ʾi wt negova krь´vь xóče da se zapáli zémljá ta	And from his blood, the Earth will catch fire.
480:	ta xóče da gorì dogde e stigála ruká čl͂véčeska	And it will burn as far as human hand did not reach.
481:	po ʾógnь xoče da budutь čétiri vétri sílni ʾi strášni	After the fire, there will be four winds, strong and terrible.
482:	ta xóčatь da wtvejutь tája gréšna zemljà što è ʾizgoréla	And they will blow away that wicked Earth, which has been burned.
483:	ʾi po vétrь xóče ʾádь da zatvóri usta	And after the wind the Hell will close the mouth.
484:	ʾi ne če da pušta: veče móre ʾi réki ʾi ezere u svóĭ usta	And it will not let again the sea and rivers and lakes into it mouth.
485:	ta xóče dá izьljáe voda po svь´ st̃ь	And water will flow out all over the world,
	wt ʾistokь do západь	from the East to the West,
	da wtmíe túju proklétu gréšnu zémlju	to was that accursed, wicked Earth.
486:	xóče da ju zanése dóle vь béznu .:.	It will wash it down into the abyss.
487:	Tómu ʾiliju slávu vozьʾisílaem	We praise this Elijah.
488:	ʾi poklonenïe ʾému tvórimь ʾoc͂u ʾi sñu ʾi st̃ómu dx̃u	And we give respect to him, (and) to Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
