23: i reče židovinu And (Theodore) said to the Jew:

26: nego da ti ostavimъ marъtura ʺLet me make Him my witness!ʺ
27: reče židovinъ The Jew said:
28: ako po istinu pravo verъvašъ xrta da ti dademъ koliko xošteši zlato ʺIf you truly believe justly in Christ, I would give you as much gold as you wish.ʺ
29: i vrъna go na svoi domъ And he returned him to his home.

46: i pogubixъ sve to imenie ʺAnd I lost all the property!ʺ

78: i ne bi u tolъkova grižu upadnulъ ʺAnd you would not fall into such a sorrow.ʺ
79: ѳeodrъ plačeše Theodore cried.
80: i dumaše židovinu And he said to the Jew:
81: ne dei druže ʺDo not do that, o friend!ʺ
82: ne xuli istinago bga ʺDo not slander the True God!ʺ
83: tova e radi moi grexъ ʺThat is (so) because of my sin.ʺ

103: i otide u kalavriju grada And he went to the city of Calabria.
104: tamo kupi pšenicu There, he bought wheat,
105: i otide u gunъdaliju grada and he went to the city of Gundaly (?)
106: tamo naide mušteriju po edinu zlatnicu rešeto There he found a client (willing to buy?) a sieve (of wheat?) for one gold piece.
107: prodade pšenicu He sold the wheat,
108: i kupi po srebrenik meru vino and he bought a barrel of wine for a silver coin.
109: i otide u veliki gradъ anъtioxiju And he went to the great city of Antioch.
110: prodade tuju meru vino po zlatniku He sold the barrel of wine for a gold coin.
111: i sъbra četiri xiljadi litri zlato And he collected four thousand pounds of gold.
112: i naloži zlato u kovъčegъ And he put the gold into a stash.
113: i napisa teskere And he wrote a notice:
114: ete ja teodorъ xrtianinъ pratimъ moemu blgodatelju avramu iudejaninu četiri xiljadi litri zlato u kovъčegъ ʺHereby I, Theodore the Christian, send to my helper, Abraham the Jew, four thousand pounds of gold in a stash.ʺ
115: i moemu marъturiju xrtu molitvu sotvaraemъ tova zlato u tvoi ruce da vloži ʺAnd I do a prayer to the Christ my witness, so that he brings the gold to your hands.ʺ
116: i naloži go u kovъčegъ And he put it into a stash.
117: i zapečati go And he sealed it.
118: i zanese kovčegъ And he brought the stash (to sea),
119: i frъli go u more to and he threw it into the sea.
120: i reče And he said:
121: gdi iise xrte bže moi ja se na tebe nadamъ ʺO Lord Jesus Christ, my God, I put my hopes on you!ʺ
122: zapratixъ po more kovčegъ sa zlato ʺI sent a stash of gold by the sea.ʺ
123: ti gdi prinesi go u carigradъ ʺYou, o Lord, bring it to Tsarigrad!ʺ
124: i dai go moemu zaimodavъcu ʺAnd give it to my lender!ʺ
125: i sadade se vetъrъ golemъ bura strašna u more And a great wind, a terrible storm came in the sea.
126: i podъ bregove stoexu korabli u carigradъ And there were ships on the shores of Tsarigrad.
127: i razbivaxu se ot buini i strašni talase And they were being broken by wild and terrible waves.
128: i sъvъ narodъ izъ gradъ izleze na krai more And all the people went out of the city to the sea shore,
da gledaju more kakvo se strašno i mutno raznišalo to watch, how the sea became so much terribly stirred.
129: izleze i onja židovinъ And the Jew went out too,
da vidi kakva bi taja čudesa po more to see, what miracles happened in the sea.
130: i stanu na bregъ And he stood on the shore.
131: i postoja malъko And he stood a little.
132: i napregnu se edinъ jako golemъ talasъ And one very strong wave stretched out.
133: i prikara kovčegъ sasъ zlato pri noze židovinu And it brought the stash of gold to the Jew's legs.
134: i onъ go uze And he took it.
135: i zanese go na domъ svoi And he brought it to his house.
136: i otvori kovъčegъ And he opened the stash.
137: i naide vrъzъ zlato to teskere što beše pisalъ teodorъ židovinu And he found on the gold the note, which Theodore had written to the Jew.
138: i drugo ozgorъ pripisano evreiski And (he found also something) else, written above in Hebrew.
139: ete azъ iisъ xrtosъ ot ѳeodra xrtianina prinesoxъ ti zlato po sredъ more sasъ talasъ ʺBehold, I, Jesus Christ, brought you gold from Theodore the Christian through the middle of the sea by a wave.ʺ
140: tebe vъ ruce vložixъ da ne xulišъ mene iudejanine ʺI put it to your hands, so that you do not blaspheme against me, o Jew!ʺ
141: što beše teodrъ poručilъ svrъši se ʺWhat Theodore had orderred, has been done.ʺ
142: veru fanete ʺBelieve!ʺ
143: vo istinu e tako ʺIt is the truth.ʺ
144: i posle doide ѳeodrъ zdravъ sasъ mlogo imane And then, Theodore came, healthy, with a lot of property.
145: i beše kupilъ dari mlogo da pokloni židovinu And he had bought many gifts to give them as presents to the Jew.
146: i židovinъ uze dari And the Jew took the presents.
147: i pita go za zlato što mu e zaimilъ And he asked him about the gold, which he had borrowed to him.
148: reče mu ѳeodorъ Theodore said to him:
149: verui me ʺBelieve me,ʺ
150: ja smъ ti dopratilъ zlato po xrta marъturiju moego ʺI have sent to you the gold by Christ, my witness.ʺ
151: i dalъ ti go e ʺAnd he has given it to you.ʺ
152: i imašъ go u domъ tvoi ʺAnd you have it in your house.ʺ
153: židovinъ go ispituva The Jew tried him,
154: i reče And he said:
155: ne sъmъ ni ot kogo uzelъ ʺI have not taken (anything) from anyone.ʺ
156: togiva ѳeodorъ produma Then Theodore said:
157: ja sasъ tebe nikakva duma ne mamъ ʺI have no word (quarrel?) with you.ʺ
158: ako ne si uzelъ kovъčegъ sasъ četiri xiljadi litri zlato ʺIf you did not take the stash with four thousand pounds of gold,ʺ
ja znaemъ kakvo i teskere sasъ moju ruku pisaxъ ʺI know that I also wrote a notice with my hand.ʺ
159: i oszgorъ zlato turixъ u kovъčegъ ʺAnd I put it over the gold in the stash.ʺ
160: zapečatixъ ʺ(And) I sealed (it).ʺ
161: i moru go predadoxъ i moemu xrtu i tvoemu poručniku ʺAnd I gave it over to the sea and my Christ, your witness,ʺ
da ti go vloži u tvoi ruce ʺso that he would give it to your hands.ʺ
162: ako ne si uzelъ sъga poidi sasъ mene pri obrazu xristovu ʺIf you did not take (it), come now with me to the picture of the Christ!ʺ
163: zaklъni mi se ʺ(And) swear to me!ʺ
164: paki ne priimamъ ʺI don't accept again (?)ʺ
165: židovinъ se uboja The Jew became afraid.
166: iznese pismo što e bilo u kovъčegъ He brought out the letter, which had been in the stash.
167: i reče And he said:
168: todre poznavaš li tova pismo ʺO Theodore, do you recognize this letter?ʺ
169: i vide todrъ svoe pismo And Theodore saw his writing,
170: i pozna go and he recognized it.
171: a drugo ozgorъ pripisano evreiski kaže And another (writing), written above in Hebrew, said:
172: sъgъ uzmi svoe ʺNow, take your (property)!ʺ
173: i iudeanine ne xuli mene ʺAnd do not blaspheme against me!ʺ
174: i kogi vidoxu tova pismo udivixu se And when they saw the writing, they were amazed.
175: i rekoxu si meždu sebe And they said to each other:
176: fala bgu ʺGlory (be) to God!ʺ
177: tova samъ xrtosъ pripisa za znamenie ʺThe Christ Himself wrote that as a sign!ʺ
178: i proslavixu bga And they praised God.
179: i po taja preslavnaja čudesa veruva i židovinъ vo xrta And after these most glorious miracles, the Jew, too, believed in the Christ.
180: i pokrti se i onъ i sъъvъ domъ negovъ .:. And he and whole his house got baptized.
181: vъ slavu xrtu bgu našemu In glory of the Christ, our God,
