18: ʾá tewdrь se moleše And Theodore prayed:
19: ne imamь čl͂veče što da tì (da)démь ʺI have nothing to give you.ʺ
20: ʾi poide si ѳewd(r)ь xr͒tiăninь da si ide na dómь svóĭ And Theodore the Christian went to go home.
21: ī židovínь go ʾisprat͛vaše And the Jew accompanied him.
22: ʾi kato ʾidexu po ʿulicu vídoxu na ʾedni vráta ʾóbrazь xr͒tovь napísanь And as they walked on the street, they saw a picture of Christ drawn on one door.
23: ʾi réče židovínu And (Theodore) said to the Jew:

28: ʾáko pó ʾistinu právo ver͛vašь xr͒tà da tì dadémь kolíko xóšteši zláto ʺIf you truly believe justly in Christ, I would give you as much gold as you wish.ʺ
29: ʾi vrьná go na svoi dómь And he returned him to his home.

33: ʾi sve svoju potrebiju kakvo sakà takà prodáde And he sold all his goods as he wanted.
34: ʾi nakupuva drúgu kúplju And he bought other goods.
35: ʾi vrь´nu se páki vь cr̃igrádь And he returned to Tsarigrad again.
36: ʾi ne možè da stígne cr̃igrádь And he was unable to reach Tsarigrad.
37: ʾi potopí se koráblь And - the ship sunk.
38: doču se xabárь do židovina če e doš͛lь téʾwdorь The report, that Theodor had returned, came to the Jew.
39: ʾáli ne znáe če se è potópilь koráblь But he does not know, that the ship sunk.
40: doidè mu na dómь da sì sáka ʾimáne to svoè He went to his house to ask for his property.
41: ʾi năide go če pláče na dómь svói And he found him crying in his house.
42: ʾi on͛ go popità And he asked him:
43: što pláčešь teʿwdore ʺWhy are you crying, o Theodore?ʺ

45: potopí se koráblь ʺThe ship sunk!ʺ
46: ʾi pogubíxь sve to ʾimenïe ʺAnd I lost all the property!ʺ
47: ʾá židovínь go téšešè But the Jew consolated him,
da se ne ʾwskrь´buva (saying) not to be sad,
no da verúva što se è: ʾwbréklь xr͒tu but to believe in his vow to Christ,
da mù búde marʾturia; to be his witness.
48: ʾi paki povéde go židovínь na dómь; svóĭ And the Jew took him again to his house.
49: ʾi dade mu páki xíljado lítri; zláto And he gave him again thousand pounds of gold.
50: ʾi privéde go támo ná vratá ta kade béše xr͒tósь ʾispísanь And he brought him to the door there, where the Christ was drawn.
51: ʾi marturíju sébe ʾwstavi páki dobrè da go zamarturíše And he made him his witness again, so that he guarantees him well (?)
52: ʾi ōtide todrь And Theodore went,
53: ʾi kupi; smolù and he bought tar.
54: ʾi ōtidè u egípetь And he went to Egypt.
55: dade smolu He gave tar,

63: ʾi páki né možè da dostígne And, again, he could not reach (home).

65: ʾi pogubi sve što è spečalílь And he lost everything he had gained.
66: ʾi doʾidé si na dómь svóĭ And he came to his home.
67: sedéše He was sitting,
68: ʾi pláčeše and he cried.
69: ʾá židovínь vidè todrovu págubu And the Jew saw Theodore's loss.
70: ʾi svoe zláto pogubi And he lost his gold (too).
71: ʾi zová go And he called him.
72: ʾi počè da mù xorotuva And he began to speak to him.
73: ʾi rugaè na xr͒tà And he blaspheme(d) against the Christ.
74: ʾi kaže todru And he said to Theodore:
75: vidiš li kakvo se prel͛stixte vie ʺDo you see, how you were deceived?ʺ
76: ʾi ver͛vate ne súštemu bg̃u ʺAnd you believe in a non-existend god!ʺ
77: da è tója sínь bž̃ïi bil ti ne bì tréti putь pogubilь svoe: ʾimenïe ʾi moe ʺIf he was a Son of God, you would not have lost your and my property for a third time!ʺ
78: ʾi ne bi u tol͛kova grížu upádnulь ʺAnd you would not fall into such a sorrow.ʺ
79: ѳewdrь pláčeše Theodore cried.
80: ʾi dúmaše židovínu And he said to the Jew:
81: ne déĭ drúže ʺDo not do that, o friend!ʺ
82: ne xulì ʾistinágo bg̃a ʺDo not slander the True God!ʺ
83: tová e radì móĭ gréxь ʺThat is (so) because of my sin.ʺ
84: ta se táko slúči méne ʺThus it happened to me.ʺ
85: tógo rádi prigledá me: mor͛ski talásь da mè ʾwbezьčésti ʺThat is why the sea wave looked upon me - to dishonor me!ʺ

88: ʾi ver͛vamь ʺAnd I believe:ʺ
89: što sì poxulilь xr͒ta bg̃a moego ʺBecause you have blasphemed against Christ, my God.ʺ
90: tóĭ šte páki méne da pomógne ʺHe will help me again.ʺ
91: sa͒ mói prébitlь´kь xočem sve tvoè ʾiménïe da povrь´nemь ʺWith my profit, I will return all your property back.ʺ
92: ʾá židovínь mu dáde ʾi treti putь xiljádo litri zláto And the Jew gave him a thousand pounds of gold for the third time too.
93: ʾi privéde go pri toʾjá ʾobrázь ʾis͒ь xr͒tóvь štotò béše písanь na vratá ta And he brought him to the picture, of Jesus Christ, which was drawn on the door.
94: ʾi réče židovínь And the Jew said (...)
95: na ʾwbrázo gléda He looks to the picture,
96: ʾi duma and he says:
97: tébe sьga vér͛nago mar͛turíju; príémamь ʺI take you as my loyal witness!ʺ
98: ta ʾáko sínь bž̃ïi búdešь ʺSo if you would be the Son of God,ʺ
začúvai ѳeʾwdora ʾi moe ʾimane što wtvodi sásь négo ʺprotect Theodore and my property, which goes with him!ʺ
99: ta ʾi já da tè pover͛vamь ʺThen I will believe in you too.ʺ
100: ʾáko li ne da sè ne lь´sti kóĭ gléda u tébe ʾi da tè verúva ʺ(And) if not, may those who look and believe in you would not deceive themselves!ʺ
101: uze tewdrь zláto Theodore took the gold.
102: ʾi kupi svéku pótrebíju And he bought all (kinds of) goods.
103: ʾi ʾōtídè u kalávriju gráda And he went to the city of Calabria.
104: támo kúpi pšenícu There, he bought wheat,
105: ʾi ōtide u gunьdáliju gráda and he went to the city of Gundaly (?)
106: támo náĭde mušteriju po ʾedinu zlátnicu rešéto There he found a client (willing to buy?) a sieve (of wheat?) for one gold piece.
107: prodáde pšenícu He sold the wheat,
108: ʾi kupi po srébrenik méru vinò and he bought a barrel of wine for a silver coin.
109: ʾi ʾōtide u velíki grádь ʾanьtióxïju And he went to the great city of Antioch.
110: prodade tuju méru vinò po zlátniku He sold the barrel of wine for a gold coin.
111: ʾi sьbra četíri xíljadi litri zláto And he collected four thousand pounds of gold.
112: ʾi naloži zláto u kov͛čegь And he put the gold into a stash.
113: ʾi napisà téskere And he wrote a notice:
114: ʾetè ʾjá tewdorь xr͒tianinь prátimь moemu bl͂godátelju ʾávramu ʾiudeʿjaninu četiri xíljadi lítri zláto u kov͛čegь ʺHereby I, Theodore the Christian, send to my helper, Abraham the Jew, four thousand pounds of gold in a stash.ʺ
115: ʾi moʾemu mar͛turiju xr͒tu molítvu sotvàráemь tovà zláto u tvóĭ rúce da vloži ʺAnd I do a prayer to the Christ my witness, so that he brings the gold to your hands.ʺ
116: ʾi náloži go u kov͛čegь And he put it into a stash.
117: ʾi zapečatì go And he sealed it.
118: ʾi zanése kóvčegь And he brought the stash (to sea),
119: ʾi frьlí go u moré to and he threw it into the sea.
120: ʾi reče And he said:
121: gd͒i ïis͂e xr͒te bž̃e móĭ ʾjá se na tébe nádamь ʺO Lord Jesus Christ, my God, I put my hopes on you!ʺ
122: zapratíxь po more kovčegь sa͒ zláto ʺI sent a stash of gold by the sea.ʺ
123: ti gd͒i prinesí go u cárigrádь ʺYou, o Lord, bring it to Tsarigrad!ʺ
124: ʾi dái go moʾemu záĭmodav͛cu ʺAnd give it to my lender!ʺ
125: ʾi sadadé se vet͛rь golémь búra strášna u móre And a great wind, a terrible storm came in the sea.
126: ʾi podь brégove stóexu korábli u cárigrádь And there were ships on the shores of Tsarigrad.
127: ʾi razbívaxu se wt búini ʾi strášni taláse And they were being broken by wild and terrible waves.
128: ʾi sьvь narodь ʾizь; grádь ʾizleze na kráĭ móre And all the people went out of the city to the sea shore,
da glédaju móre kakvó se strašno ʾi mutno razníšálo to watch, how the sea became so much terribly stirred.
129: ʾizleze ʾi ʾw´nja židovínь And the Jew went out too,
da vidi kakvá bi taʾjá čudesà po móre to see, what miracles happened in the sea.
130: ʾi stanu na brégь And he stood on the shore.
131: ʾi postojà mal͛ko And he stood a little.
132: ʾi napregnu se ʾedínь ʾjáko golémь talasь And one very strong wave stretched out.
133: ʾi prikara kovčegь sásь zláto pri nóze žídovínu And it brought the stash of gold to the Jew's legs.
134: ʾi ʾwnь go uze And he took it.
135: ʾi zanese go na dómь svóĭ And he brought it to his house.
136: ʾi ʾōtvóri kov͛čegь And he opened the stash.
137: ʾi náĭde vrьzь zlato to téskere što béše pisalь teodorь židovínu And he found on the gold the note, which Theodore had written to the Jew.
138: ʾi drugo wzgórь pripisano ʾevréiski And (he found also something) else, written above in Hebrew.
139: ʾéte ʾázь ïis̃ь xr͒tósь wt ѳewdra xr͒tiănina prinesox͛ ti zlato po srédь more sásь talasь ʺBehold, I, Jesus Christ, brought you gold from Theodore the Christian through the middle of the sea by a wave.ʺ
140: tébe vь ruce vložíxь da nè xúlišь méne ïudejanïne ʺI put it to your hands, so that you do not blaspheme against me, o Jew!ʺ
141: što béše tewdrь porúčilь svrьši se ʺWhat Theodore had orderred, has been done.ʺ
142: véru fanéte ʺBelieve!ʺ
143: vo ʾistinu e͒ tako ʺIt is the truth.ʺ
144: ʾi posle dóĭde ѳewdrь zdrávь sásь mlógo ʾimane And then, Theodore came, healthy, with a lot of property.
145: ʾi béše kupilь dari mlógo da poklóni židovínu And he had bought many gifts to give them as presents to the Jew.
146: ʾi židovínь uze dari And the Jew took the presents.
147: ʾi pita go za zlato što mú e zaĭmilь And he asked him about the gold, which he had borrowed to him.
148: reče mu ѳeodorь Theodore said to him:
149: vérui me ʺBelieve me,ʺ
150: ʾjá smь ti dopratílь zlato po xr͒ta mar͛turíju moego ʺI have sent to you the gold by Christ, my witness.ʺ
151: ʾi dal͛ ti go e ʺAnd he has given it to you.ʺ
152: ʾi imaš͛ go u domь tvóĭ ʺAnd you have it in your house.ʺ
153: židovin͛ go ʾispituva The Jew tried him,
154: ʾi réče And he said:
155: ne s͛mь ní wt kogò uzélь ʺI have not taken (anything) from anyone.ʺ
156: togíva ѳeʾwdorь produma Then Theodore said:
157: ʾjá sasь tébe nikakva duma né mamь ʺI have no word (quarrel?) with you.ʺ
158: ʾáko ne sì uzelь kov͛čegь sásь čétiri: xíljadi litri zláto ʺIf you did not take the stash with four thousand pounds of gold,ʺ
ʾjá znaémь kakvò ʾi téskere sásь mojù rúku pisáxь ʺI know that I also wrote a notice with my hand.ʺ
159: ʾi wszgórь zlato turixь u kov͛čegь ʺAnd I put it over the gold in the stash.ʺ
160: zapečàtixь ʺ(And) I sealed (it).ʺ
161: ʾi moru go predádoxь ʾi moemu; xr͒tu ʾi tvóemu poručniku ʺAnd I gave it over to the sea and my Christ, your witness,ʺ

162: ʾáko ne sì uzélь sь´ga póĭdi sásь méne pri ʾobrazu x͂rïstóvu ʺIf you did not take (it), come now with me to the picture of the Christ!ʺ
163: zaklьní mi se ʺ(And) swear to me!ʺ
164: páki ne prïimamь ʺI don't accept again (?)ʺ
165: židovínь se ʾúboja The Jew became afraid.
166: ʾiznése pismò što e bilo u kov͛čegь He brought out the letter, which had been in the stash.
167: ʾi réče And he said:
168: todre poznavaš li tovà pismò ʺO Theodore, do you recognize this letter?ʺ
169: ʾi vide todrь svoè pismo And Theodore saw his writing,
170: ʾi pozna go and he recognized it.
171: ʾá drugo wzgórь prípisano evréĭski káže And another (writing), written above in Hebrew, said:
172: sь´gь uzmi svoè ʺNow, take your (property)!ʺ
173: ï iudeanïne ne xuli méne ʺAnd do not blaspheme against me!ʺ
174: ʾi kogi vídoxu tová písmo udivíxu se And when they saw the writing, they were amazed.
175: ʾi rekoxu si meždu sébe And they said to each other:
176: fála bg̃u ʺGlory (be) to God!ʺ
177: tovà sámь xr͒tosь pripisa za znamenïe ʺThe Christ Himself wrote that as a sign!ʺ
178: ʾi proslavixu bg̃a And they praised God.
179: ʾi po tà̉ja preslávnaja čudesà veruva ʾi židovínь vo xr͒ta And after these most glorious miracles, the Jew, too, believed in the Christ.
180: ʾi pokr͒ti (s)e͒ ʾi onь ʾi s͛ьvь domь´ negovь .:. And he and whole his house got baptized.
