10:	ta počéxu xr͒tiane ʾi cr̃ь: da právatь ʾédna cr̃kva st̃omu: gewrgiju goléma ʾi xubava	And the Christians and the king began to build a church of St. George (there), a big and beautiful one.
11:	na ʾwnova mesto né maše mramorovi kámene za stlь´pove ʾi ploči	On that place, there were no marmor stones for pillars and slabs.
12:	zapratíxu ʾedinь korábь da bératь plóči kade naidatь ʾi stlь´pove za cr̃kva ta	They sent a ship to collect slabs and pillars for the church, wherever they find them.
13:	ʾi u ʾedínь grádь ʾimaše ednà ženà v͛dovíca ʾi sirota	And in one city there was a woman, a poor widow.
14:	počula če sè právi cr̃kva st̃omu gewrgiju u rámelь grádь	She heard, that there was a church of St. George being built in the city of Hermel.
15:	ʾá wnà kupíla ʾédínь stlь´pь mrámorenь xúbavь ʾi visókь	And she bought one marmor pillar, a nice and high one.
16:	ʾi zanése go na krái móre	And she brought it to the sea shore.
17:	ʾi réče na koraba dumen͛џiju	And she said to the captain of the ship:
18:	mólim͛ ti se gd͒ne	ʺI pray you, sir!ʺ
19:	kupíla s͛mь sásь ʾáspri ʾedínь stlь´pь	ʺI have bought a pillar with money.ʺ
20:	ʾela zemí go da go zaneséšь na ʾwnaja cr̃kva	ʺCome, take it, so that you bring it to that church,ʺ
	da búde za pómenь na dš̃u mojù	ʺso that it will be (there) for the memory of my soul!ʺ

27:	ʾi vez dénь pláčeše	And she wept for the whole day.
28:	ʾi u ednà nóštь ʾjáví ju se st̃i gewrgia na snь	And one night St. George appeared to her in a dream.
29:	ʾi réče i	And he said to her:
30:	poštò tolíko pláčešь žéno	ʺO woman, why do you cry so much?ʺ
31:	ʾonà réče	She said:
32:	žálimь zašto ne è uzélь korábnikь ʾi moego stlь´pa	ʺI am sad, because the captain of the ship did not take my pillar,ʺ
	da gò zanese na cr͂kvu st̃omu gewrgiju	ʺso that he would bring it to the church of St. George.ʺ
33:	réče ju:. st̃i gewrgia	St. George said to her:
34:	ʾá gde míslišь da gò turiš	ʺAnd where do you want to place it?ʺ
35:	ʾwna réče	She said:
36:	wt désnuju stránu cr̃kva ta	ʺOn the right side of the church.ʺ
37:	reče ʾeĭ st̃i gewrgia	St. George said to her:
38:	fanì ti wt ednà: strána	ʺTake it from one side.ʺ
39:	ta mi pomognì	ʺAnd help me.ʺ
40:	ʾjá štemь tí go zapráti támo	ʺI will send it for you there.ʺ
41:	ʾi fanu žená ta stlь́pa wt ednà strána	And the woman took the pillar on one side,
42:	ʾá st̃i gewrgia wt druga strána	and St. George (took it) from the other side.
43:	ʾi metnáxa go u moré to	And they threw it into the sea.
44:	tova st̃i gewrgia na sьnь ʾjáví se na žena ta	Thus (?) St. George appeared to the woman in the dream.
45:	ʾi dumaše	And he spoke: (?)
46:	ʾi razbudi se žená ta	And the woman woke up.
47:	ʾi ʾōtíde u jutró to ráno na krái móre	And she went early in the morning to the sea shore.
48:	ʾi ne náĭde stlь´pa	And she did not find the pillar.
49:	ʾi zarad͛vá se	And she rejoiced.
50:	sásь pomošt bž̃ïju ʾi st̃omu gewrgiju ʾōtidè stlьpъ: do rámelь grádь po náprédь wt korába	With the help of God and St. George, the pillar came to the city of Hermel faster than the ship.
51:	ʾi prišlì čl̃veci na kráĭ móre	And people came to the sea shore (in Hermel).
52:	ʾi našlì mrámorovь stlь´pь	And they found the marmor pillar.
53:	ʾi napísano na négo	And (it was) written on it:
54:	tóʾja stlь´pь e͒ na ženù vdovícu	ʺThis is a pillar of a woman-widow.ʺ
55:	da sè turi na cr͂kvu wt désnu stránu	ʺLet it be placed on the right side of the church.ʺ

62:	ʾimaše ženù rázumnu ʾi pravoslávnu ʾi početlívu	He had a wise, and orthodox, and respectful wife.

64:	ʾednákvi sásь muža si na dobrò ʾimaxu mlógo ljubov ʾi mílosь na st̃ago gewrgia	(Being) the same with her husband in goodness, they had much love and mercy (?) towards St. George.

74:	ʾi béše na ʾwbrázь ʾjáko xubavo ʾi razumno	And he was very beautiful in looks and wise.
75:	ʾi beše mládo do dva na desetь gódinь	And it was young, about twelve years (old).
76:	ʾi va ʾwnova vréme sabráxu se blь´gare ʾi maџáre ʾi tatáre ʾi vlásì ʾi tur͛ci	And in that time, the Bulgars, the Magyars, the Tatars, the Wallachians, and the Turks assembled.
77:	ʾi postavíxu si cr̃a	And they made a king among themselves.
78:	ʾi xódexu svude	And they marched everywhere.
79:	ta plénexu séla ʾi grádove	And they were capturing villages and towns.
80:	vide cr̃ь fóka	Emperor Phocas saw (it).
81:	uboʾjá se da nè plénatь ʾi cr̃igrádь	(And) he became afraid, that they could capture Tsarigrad too.
82:	zapratì po svudè povelénie da sè zbérutь sví te vóĭne za pómoštь na xr͒tiăne	And he sent everywhere a command, so that the soldiers assemble everywhere to help the Christians.
83:	dóĭde xabárь ʾi do léʾwna da ʾide na vóĭsku	The command to go to the army also came to Leo.
84:	léwnь béše stárь	(But) Leo was old.
85:	ʾi ne móže dá ʾide	And he could not go.
86:	nelò če da práti mládago sína svoégo gewrgiju	So he sent his young son George.
87:	ʾi mílo ʾimь béše da sí go povódatь	And it is nice to them to lead him there.

106:	wt togíva negóvь baštà ʾi maikja sváki dénь xódexu u cr͂kvu st̃ómu gewrgiju	From then, his father and mother were going every day to the church of St. George.

110:	ʾi udaríxu se nóštemь	And they attacked each other in the night.
111:	naprásno napádoxu na túju voĭsku detò béše léwnovo dete	Suddenly, they attacked the army, (in) which was the child of Leo.
112:	ʾednì ʾisékoxu	They killed some,
113:	drúgi ʾwraníxu	they wounded others.
114:	kóĭ pobégoxu ʾá ednì fanúxu žívi	(From) those who fled, they caught some alive.
115:	sasь nix fanáxu ʾi gewrgiju sína lew´nova	Among them, they also caught the son of Leo.
116:	kogí go ulovíxu vóĭne vidóxa go če è ʾjákw: xúbavo na obrázь	When they caught him, they saw that he has very beautiful looks.

124:	ʾi pláčeše baštá mu	And his father wept.
125:	ʾi dumaše maĭke mu	And he was saying to his mother:
126:	ʾw suprúžnicè moę` wt tíja gódini nalí béše tʾaja véčerь ʾi gewrgia sásь násь na trьpézu	ʺO my wife, was not George with us too at the table for all those years?ʺ
127:	ʾá sьga:. gdé si čédo moè mílo gewrgie	ʺAnd now, where are you, o my dear child, o George?ʺ
128:	ʾi mnógo: plačexu za négo	And they cried a lot for him.
129:	ʾi ne utéšvaxu se za négo	And they could not be consolated for him.

142:	posaká gd͒inь vódu da se ʾwmie da večéra	The lord asked for water, so that he could wash himself to dine.
143:	ʾi kakvó se káčeše gewrgia po slь´ba ta góre na ʾwdajù	And as George was climbing the stairs to the room,
	ʾi noseše ʾibríkь sásь vodu	carrying the pitcher with water,
	ʾjáví mu se st̃i gewrgia sásь bélь kónь	St. George with a white horse appeared to him.
144:	ʾi réče st̃i na deté to	And the saint said to the child:
145:	ʾela usednì zadì méne na konja	ʺCome, sit yourself behind me on the horse!ʺ
146:	ʾi skóro skočì ʿjunoša na konjà	And the boy quickly jumped on the horse.
147:	ʾi ʾu mignovénïe ʾókò náĭde se u domь ʾoc͂a svoegò	And in a blink of an eye he found himself in the house of his father.
148:	ʾi w´šte sedéxu na trьpezu	And (the guests, parents) were still sitting at the table.

154:	ʾa tia človéci što béxu na trьpézu ʾóni pitúvaxu gewrgiju kakvó se naʾide tuka	And the people, who were at the table, were asking George, how he found himself there.
155:	ʾa wnь ʾimь kazúva čudo	And he told them (about the) miracle:
156:	ʾjá u večér͛no vréme nósexь vódu góspodínu moému da sè míe da večéra	ʺI was bringing water to my lord for washing, so that he dines.ʺ
157:	ʾi kakvo idexь po slь´ba ta naidé me edínь človékь sasь belь kónь	ʺAnd as I was walking on the stairs, a man with a white horse found me.ʺ
158:	ʾi fánu me	ʺAnd he took me.ʺ
159:	ʾi frьlí me zadì sébe na konja	ʺAnd he threw me behind himself on the horse.ʺ
160:	i ja čudím se kakvo skóro náĭdox se tuka	ʺAnd I wonder myself, how fast I found myself here.ʺ
161:	ʾi stanáxu rodítele negóvi wt zemi	And his parents stood up from the ground.
162:	ʾi počéxu da bl͂godarutь bg̃a ʾi st̃ago gewrgiju	And they began to thank God and St. George.
163:	ʾi kogì razuméxu če sè ʾizbavilo: níx͛no čédo wt rob͛stvò	And when they understood, that their child was freed of servitude,

165:	ml͂tvámi st̃omu stígnu na sví te luge	By the prayers of the saint, the water reached all the people.

167:	pósle zavédoxu gewrgiju sródnici negóvi u cr̃kvu st̃ómu gewrgiju	Afterwards, his relatives brought George to the church of St. George.

	póstavì go u cr̃ku: svetómu	he placed in the church of the saint,

174:	čt͒no tomu že, múčeniku, velíku, slávu vozisilaemь,	[Afterword] Thus honorably, we send our great praise to the martyr,

216:	u ʾedinь dénь u taja maxalà kadè béše cr̃kva ta	One day, in the settlement, where the church was,
	sá:bráxa se decà da ʾigrájutь po krái ʾónaja cr̃kva	children assembled to play next to the church.
217:	ʾednì da sè bóratь	Some (came) to wrestle,
218:	ʾá drúgi. da trьčútь	others (came) to run,
219:	ʾi da skáčatь	and (others came) to jump,
220:	ʾi kámene da frьgátь	and (others came) to throw stones.
221:	ʾednò detè wt níxь ne móže da nádvíe ni na ednà ʾigrà	One child among them could not win in any of the games.
222:	ʾá drugí te deca: mu sè sméʾexu	And the other children laughed at him,
	če ne móže da nadьʾigra ní na ʾednà ʾigrà	that he could not win in any game,
	kakvóto si ʾimatь: decà ʾwbičáĭ	as the children have a custom among themselves.
223:	ʾi wnóva detè wt sramota ʾi wt žálosь ʾwbrь´nu se	And from the shame and the sorrow, the child turned.
224:	ʾi vide cr̃kva ta st̃omu gewrgiju	And he saw the church of St. George.

235:	máĭko skóro poprьží mi ʾjáica da nósimь st̃omu gewrgiju če mi pómognu ta nádvíxь na sví te ʾigri	ʺO mother, roast eggs for me, so that I bring (them) to St. George!ʺ ʺBecause he helped me.ʺ ʺAnd thus I won in all the games.ʺ
236:	ʾi posrámixь sví te decà	ʺAnd I put all the children to shame.ʺ
237:	ʾi maĭkja mu poprьži ʾjáĭca	And his mother roasted the eggs for him.
238:	ʾi turi gi na ʾednò bljúdo	And he put them on a plate.
239:	ʾi zanése gi	And he brought them.
240:	ʾi wstávi gi prédь ʾóbrázь st̃ómu gewrgiju	And he left them in front of the icon of St. George.

242:	ʾi po tovà dóidoxu tri gémiџïi u tojá časь da sè poklónatь st̃omu gewrgiju	And then came three sailors to bow to St. George in that time.
