| 6: | Vo cr͒tvo ne čestívago cr͂a diwklítiʾána velíko gonénïe béše na xr͒tiʾáni | There was a great persecution of Christians in the time of dishonorable Emperor Diocletian. |
| 7: | u wnïę vrémena ʾi léta cr̃ve ʾi boljáre ʾi vóivódi ne maxu druga griža t͛kmo kakvo da mučatь xr͒tíane za véru | In those times and years, kings and boyars and commanders had no other business, but to torment Christians for (their) faith. |
| 8: | ʾi sákaxu da dovrьšatь xr͒tian͛ska véra do konécь večè da se ne ʾjavi xr͒tiáninь nígde | And they wanted to finish the Christian faith, so that there would be no Christian left anywhere. |

| 11: | ʾi zaprati knigi fer͛mane po sví te gradove elínski | And he sent forth letters (and) commands to all pagan cities, |

| 22: | ʾá kóĭ poslúša moè povelénïe da sè poklóni na náši bg̃ove | ʺBut he who obeys my command, to bow to our gods,ʺ |
| mnógo srebrò ʾi zláto da gò darúvamь | ʺmay I donate a lot of silver and gold to him,ʺ | |

| 23: | takà réče cr̃ь díwklitiănь, | Thus spoke Emperor Diocletian. |
| 24: | ʾi záprati maѯimiăna u elin͛ski grádь: | And he sent Maximian to the city of pagans/Greeks. |
| 25: | i ʾwnь sam sьbra po sil͛ni vóĭne | And he himself assembled stronger warriors. |
| 26: | ʾi ōtidè u egípet | And he went to Egypt. |
| 27: | ʾi tamo ʾimaše ʾedínь knézь | And there was a prince. |
| 28: | ta saka-še po sílu da stáne cr̃ь, | And he wanted to become an Emperor by force. |
| 29: | ʾá cr̃ь díw´klitianь mu nád͛vi | But Emperor Diocletian defeated him. |
| 30: | ʾi posrami go | And he put shame on him. |
| 31: | ʾi ōtide diwklítianь u an͛tiwxíju, | And Diocletian went to Antioch. |
| 32: | zaštò béše počúlь kakvo mnógo xr͒tiane ʾima u to-ʾjá grádь | Because he had heard, that there were many Christians in that city. |
| 33: | ʾi tamo u grodò razbrà diw-klitíanь če se poklánjatь xr͒tiane, gd͒u ʾiï͒su xr͒tu | And there, in the city, Diocletian understood, that Christians bow to Lord Jesus Christ. |
| 34: | ʾi kakvò ču mnogo se rasrь-di | And as he heard (it), he became very angry. |
| 35: | ʾi ōtide cr̃ь | And the Emperor went away. |
| 36: | ʾi poklóni se svoému b̃u ʾápolónu | And he bowed to his god Apollo. |
| 37: | ʾi goléma póčestь sotvóri cr̃ь bg̃u ʾápolónu: | And he made a great honor to God Apollo |
| 38: | xiljádo volove zákla, | He slaughtered thousand oxen. |
| 39: | ʾi kato počete cr̃ь bg̃a apolóna sasь xíljádo volóve | And as the Emperor honored God Apollo with thousand oxen, |
| ʾtogíva svì gráždáne ʾánь-tiwxíski počétoxu cr̃a diʾwklitiăna, | then all Antiocheans honored Emperor Diocletian, | |
| kakvóto si cr̃u prilíče takóĭ ʾuredno. | duly, as it is appropriate for an emperor. | |
| 40: | I u tóę grádь ʾimaše ʾednà ženà | And there was a woman in that city. |
| 41: | mlogo béše bg̃ata: | She was very rich. |
| 42: | ʾime i béše ѳewdóšïa, | Her name was Theodosia. |
| 43: | ʾi ednógo sña ʾimašè | She had one son. |
| 44: | ʾime mu béše ïʾwanískosь; | His name was Oniscus. |
| 45: | baštá mu béše xr͒tiănïnь | His father was a Christian. |
| 46: | ʾi umre. | And he died. |
| 47: | ʾá máika mu béše vdovíca | And his mother was a widow. |
| 48: | ʾi poklanjáše se na ĭdole; | And she bowed to idols. |
| 49: | sínь nóenь ʾwstanu | Her son was left. |
| 50: | ʾwšte beše mьnečkь | He was still small. |
| 51: | ʾi maĭka mu go wtxrani | And his mother raised him. |
| 52: | ʾi učeše go da sè poklánja na ĭdole | And she taught him to bow to idols. |
| 53: | i godeše máĭka mu da gò predade cr̃u diwklitiănu | And his mother vowed to give him to Emperor Diocletian, |

| 54: | ʾi ōtidè măikja mu prí cr̃a | And his mother went to the Emperor. |
| 55: | ʾi zanése mlógo ʾimáne | And she brought a lot of wealth. |
| 56: | ʾi dáde go caru | And she gave it to the Emperor. |
| 57: | ʾa cr̃ь ju réče | And the Emperor said (to) her: |
| 58: | poštó mi dade ѳeʾwdóšïw tol͛kova ʾimáne? | ʺWhy do you give me so much wealth?ʺ |
| 59: | ʾá wná mu réče: | And she said to him: |
| 60: | ʾimamь ednógo sína | ʺI have one son.ʺ |
| 61: | da tí go dademь da gò, početéšь | ʺMay I give him to you, so that you honor him,ʺ |
| ʾi da mu dadešь nékoja vólja | ʺand that you give him some commands,ʺ | |
| da bude slávenь na tója st̃ь, | ʺso that he will be famous in this world.ʺ | |
| 62: | i cr̃ь réče: | And the Emperor said: |
| 63: | dovedí go | ʺBring him!ʺ |
| 64: | ʾi dovéde go maĭkja mu | And his mother brought him. |
| 65: | ʾi dáde go cr̃u diʾwklítiănu | And she gave him to Emperor Diocletian. |
| 66: | ʾi po neko-liko dni fánu cr̃ь da gò ʾispit͛va svékakvo | And after some days the Emperor began to try him in all possible ways. |
| 67: | ʾi vidé go če béše knížóvenь ʾi rázuménь ʾi na elin͛ski rabóti dosétlívь | And he saw that he was literate, and clever, and with understanding for pagan matters. |
| 68: | ʾi ne pomísli cr̃ь če šté da se poklóni wnískosь xr͒tu bg̃u | And the Emperor did not think that Oniscus would bow to Christ the God. |
| 69: | nelo go ʾostávi da mu bude katò vezírь | Thus he let him to be his vizier. |
| 70: | ʾi dade mu: dva miliwna voĭsku | And he gave him an army (of) two million. |

| 75: | ʾi produmai imь da sè wtrečútь wt xr͒tà; | ʺAnd tell them to renounce Christ!ʺ |
| 76: | ʾáko li se ne wtrečutь prьvo da ĭmь uzmešь ʾimane to sve | ʺIf they will not renounce, first take all of their property!ʺ |
| 77: | pa togíva da gi predadeš na gor͛ki samrь´tь. | ʺAnd then put them to bitter death!ʺ |
| 78: | ʾi ʾōtidè ʾwnískosь sasь svu vóisku po séla ʾi po grádove | And Oniscus went with all the army to villages and towns. |
| 79: | ʾi toja dénь kogì póidè sluči se ednà žéga | And on the day he went, a strong heatwave happened, |
| koliko ne móže níšto da trьpi wt tol͛kova žex͛čina | so that no one could resist so much heat. | |
| 80: | ʾi ne možéxu prézь dénь da xódatь | And they could not go during the day. |
| 81: | no vasu noštь xodíxu po xladovínu | But they went all the night, in the cool. |
| 82: | kogì prïidóxu va siriskoju zémlju svi grádove ʾizlezoxu | When they came to the land of Syria, all the (people of all the) towns went out. |
| 83: | ʾi posréšnuxu ʾwniskosa | And they met Oniscus. |
| 84: | ʾi golema počestь počétoxa go. | And they honored him (with) great honors. |
| 85: | kogi bì na véčerь ʾizlézoxu wt támo | When it was an evening, they went out from there. |
| 86: | ʾi xodexu po putь | And they walked on the way. |
| 87: | kogì dostígnuxu blízu do gráda tri stádía u srédь nóštь potrúsi se zemlja strášno | As they came to the vicinity of the city of three stadiums, in the middle of the night, the earthed shoke terribly. |
| 88: | ʾizidè blьskávica mlьnïe [s...] grózno | A terrible thunderstorm came out. |
| 89: | ʾizь mlьnïe ʾizíde glásь | A voice came out of the lightnings. |
| 90: | ʾi dúmaše: | And it was saying: |
| 91: | ʾwniskose kudè ʾótvódišь | ʺO Oniscus, where are you going?ʺ |
| 92: | ʾá što sì pomíslilь da sotvorišь | ʺAnd what do you think you are going to do?ʺ |
| 93: | ʾi svi te voine čuxu tója glásь | And all the soldiers heard that voice. |
| 94: | i ubóʾjaxu se | And they became afraid. |
| 95: | wtgovóri ʾwnískosь | Oniscus answered, |
| 96: | ʾi réče: | and he said: |
| 97: | cr̃ь me puštì da ubivam kói ver͛va xr͒ta; | ʺThe Emperor sent me to kill those, who believe in Christ.ʺ |
| 98: | ʾa štŏ izidè glásь ʾizь mlьnïe tová e bilь sam sì xr͒tósь, | And the voice, which came out of the lightnings, that was the Christ himself. |
| 99: | ʾi réče xr͒tósь: | And the Christ said: |
| 100: | sásь mene li štéšь da se bórišь ʾwnískose? | ʺYou want to have a fight with me, Oniscus?ʺ |
| 101: | ʾá wnь réče: | And he said: |
| 102: | ti kóĭ si gospodárь, | ʺWho are you, o lord?ʺ |
| 103: | ne znáem te? | ʺI don't know you.ʺ |
| 104: | ʾi toja čásь ʾizleze čt͒ni kr͒tь | And the True Cross appeared in that moment. |
| 105: | ʾi javí mu se | And it appeared to him. |
| 106: | ʾi ïzide glásь wt kr͒tà | And a voice came out of the cross |
| 107: | ʾi réče: | And it said: |
| 108: | ʾjá smь raspéti iï͒sь xr͒tosь, sínь bž̃ïi. | ʺI am the crucified Jesus Christ, Son of God.ʺ |
| 109: | togíva mu réče ʾwnískosь: | Then Oniscus said to him: |
| 110: | gospodíne kogí si iï͒sь xr͒tosь poštó te usúdixu vldci na samrь´tь | ʺIf you are Jesus Christ, why did princes condemn you to death?ʺ |
| 111: | ʾi mlógo si postraxuválь zaradì xr͒tiʿane da gì sp͒išь u tvoe cr͒tvo nb͒noe. | ʺAnd you suffered a lot for Christians, to save them in your Kingdom of Heaven.ʺ |
| 112: | togíva réče xr͒tos | Then the Christ said: |
| 113: | wnískose sásь krь´stь xočešь da pobedišь ʾi da nadvíešь na sví te tvóĭ cr̃ove ʾi na svi te cr̃ovi vóĭne. | ʺO Oniscus, with the cross you will defeat and conquer all your kings and all the soldiers of the king.ʺ |
| 114: | tovà x͒s ʾizréče | The Christ said this. |
| 115: | ʾi ʾōtidè na nb̃sa | And he went to the heavens. |
| 116: | ʾi sví ʾostánuxu rádostnì. | And all stood happy. |
| 117: | kogí bi u jutrò wniskos sьbra sví te zlatáre u grádo | In the morning, Oniscus assembled all the goldsmiths in the city. |
| 118: | ʾi pita gi | And he asked them, |
| 119: | ʾi réče: | And he said: |
| 120: | kogò znáete méždu vásь po maĭstórь ʾimamь nékoja potréba da mì naprávi, | ʺI need something to be done by (one), whom you know as more skilled (at your craft).ʺ |
| 121: | zaplatá kolíko xoče: da mu dadémь! | ʺI'm going to pay him as much as he want!ʺ |
| 122: | ʾi pokazáxu nékoego človeka | And they showed him one man. |
| 123: | íme mu béše mar͛ko | His name was Marko. |
| 124: | ʾi rékoxu: | And they said: |
| 125: | etè tóę e sovrьšénь máĭstorь | ʺHere this one a true master.ʺ |
| 126: | ʾi kakvo sákašь da gò naprávi | ʺAnd he would make whatever you want.ʺ |
| 127: | togíva ʾwnískosь ʾizvádi čt͒ni kr͒tь ʾisь pazuxu | Then Oniscus took the True Cross out of his bosom. |
| 128: | ʾi dáde go mar͛ku da gò právi | And he gave it to Marko to make it (?) |
| 129: | ʾi mar͛ko réče: | And Marko said: |
| 130: | ne sméemь gd͒ne móĭ da pravimь čt͒ni kr͒tь | ʺMy lord, I don't dare to make a True Cross.ʺ |

| 137: | ʾwkova go sásь srebrò ʾi sasь zláto ʾi sasь drági bes͛céni kámene | He wrapped it with silver and gold and expensive precious stones. |
| 138: | ʾi kogi go svrь´ši vidè mar͛ko na čt͒nago kr͒ta nekoe čudo strášno | And when he finished it, Marko saw a terrible miracle on the True Cross: |
| 139: | ʾizobrázili se na kr͒to trí obráze | Three pictures appeared on the cross. |
| 140: | ʾi pod͛písani sásь ʾevréiski slóva. | And (they were) subscribed with Hebrew words. |
| 141: | ʾedínь ʾóbraz ʾemanuĭlь, | One picture (was subscribed with) Immanuel. |
| 142: | ʾá drugi ʾóbrʾazь ʾár͛x͂glь míxaĭlь, | And another picture (was subscribed with) Archangel Michael. |
| 143: | ʾá tréti ʾóbrázь ʾárx͂glь gávrïilь; | And the third picture (was subscribed with) Archangel Gabriel. |
| 144: | ʾi mar͛ko pomísli da wstrúže tía tri ʾobraze wt kr͒to kato se béxu sámi wt samo sébe ʾizobrazíli | And Marko decided to scratch the three pictures off from the cross, as they appeared from themselves. |
| 145: | ʾi poségnu mar͛ko da gì ʾwstrúže | And Marko touched them to scratch them. |
| 146: | ʾi ne možè, | And he was not able. |
| 147: | nelo mu ʾwšte ʾis͛xna désna ruka | For his right hand became dry. |
| 148: | ʾi u edna nóštь wniskosь príʾide da vídi dalí se svrь´ši čt͒ni kr͒tь | And one night Oniscus came to see, whether the True Cross was finished. |
| 149: | ʾi kogí go vidè ʾi zaradvá se | And as he saw it, he rejoiced. |

| 151: | ʾi pita | And he asked: |
| 152: | što su tía obráze ʾi pismo što sè pokazúva námь, | ʺWhat are these pictures and the text appearing to us?ʺ |

| 154: | ne znamь gospodáru | ʺI do not know, sir.ʺ |
| 155: | ʾjá ne s͛m gi pravílь | ʺI did not make them.ʺ |

| 164: | ʾi ōtidè u aleѯan͛driju gráda. | And he went to the city of Alexandria. |
| 165: | tamo se béxu sabráli mnógo ʾágaréne | Many Hagarenes had assembled there. |
| 166: | ʾi po sílu plénexu múžie ʾi ženì ʾi momi ʾi decà | And they were capturing men and women and girls and children by force. |
| 167: | ʾi ne znaʾjáxu kakvo da stóratь siromási xr͒tiane da se wtbránatь wt prokléti ʾágaréne | And the poor Christians did not know, what to do, to defend themselves from the accursed Hagarenes. |
| 168: | no pláčexu | But they cried. |
| 169: | ʾi žálexu | And they were sad. |
| 170: | kogì vidè ʾwnískosь takóvo zlo nemu ʾjáko dosvidè kato ʾideše, tol͛kova písakь tol͛kóva várekь | As Oniscus saw such evil, as he went, all the cries and weeping made him angry. |
| 171: | ʾi povéde svojù vóʿisku po sébe | And he led his army with himself. |
| 172: | ʾi pod͛bráxu ʾágaréne da se bíjatь | And the Hagarenes began to fight. |
| 173: | ʾwnískosь ʾimaše nadéžda na čt͒nago kr͒tà da mu pomógne | Oniscus had hope in the True Cross, that it helps him. |
| 174: | ʾi reče | And he said: |
| 175: | sьga da vídimь ʾi da verúvamь ʾako budeš tí ʾiıs͂ь xr͒tósь što mí se javi na pútь | ʺNow, let me see and believe, whether it was you, Jesus Christ, who appeared to me on the way.ʺ |
| 176: | ʾi glásь mu. dóĭde wt nb̃sa toja ča͒ | And in that moment a voice came from the heavens to him. |
| 177: | ʾi réče mu | And it said to him: |
| 178: | der͛zai | ʺDo dare!ʺ |
| 179: | ne bóĭ se | ʺDo not fear!ʺ |
| 180: | ʾjá smь xr͒tósь sa͒ tebè | ʺI, the Christ, am with you.ʺ |
| 181: | togíva se ʾoniskosь uver͛va ʾi wslobódi | Then Oniscus began to believe and freed himself. |
| 182: | ʾi reče na voine svóĭ | And he said to his soldiers: |
| 183: | eláte po méne da se udárime sasь ʾágaréne | ʺCome, let us fight with the Hagarenes!ʺ |
| 184: | ʾjá imamь: nadéždu na xr͒tà raspétago da nadvíʾemь na tri kléti agʾáréne | ʺI have a hope in Christ the Crucified, that I will defeat the thrice-accursed Hagarenes.ʺ |
| 185: | ʾi z božïem povelénïemь napáde stráxь ná agaréne | And, by the will of God, a fear overcame the Hagarenes. |
| 186: | ʾi izbí gi ʾónískosь | And Oniscus slew them all. |
| 187: | ʾi prebróĭxu mrьtvьcì | And they counted the dead. |

| 206: | ʾi dúmašь če ti e pomógnulь ʾedínь bg̃ь | ʺAnd you say, that the One God has helped you.ʺ |
| 207: | xočatь da čújutь drugí te bg̃ove | ʺThe other gods will hear (that).ʺ |
| 208: | ʾi xočatь; da sè rasrь´datь na tébe | ʺAnd they will be angry with you.ʺ |

| 472: | ʾi skoro ʾwstávi slávu ʾi boljar͛stvo | And she soon left glory and pride. |

| podívi se kakvò taka skóro poveruvà | he was amazed, how fast did she start to believe. | |

| 488: | ʾi zatvóri ʾi nju pri wnïę ženì ʾi prì sína svoégo prokópïju | and he locked her too with those women next to her son Procopius. |

| 522: | ʾi bíxa ju dogdè ʾiznemóže | And they beat her until she was unable (to stand?). |

| 524: | ʾi ne nasíti se mučítelь: | And the tormentor was not satisfied. |
| 525: | tolíko muki vózložì na níxь | He put so much tortures on them! |

| 615: | dogdè ne s͛mь rastrьzálь telò tvoè sotvorì moè povelénïe | ʺDo my bidding, until I have not your body torn up!ʺ |
| 616: | prokópïja réče | Procopius said: |
| 617: | ete moe télo prédь ʾóči tvóĭ stóĭ | ʺBehold, my body stands in front of you!ʺ |
| 618: | ʾi što xóčešь sásь nego napravì da ugódišь na prílični te tvóĭ bésove | ʺAnd do what you want with it, so that you make the demons so similar to you happy!ʺ |
| 619: | ʾi réče ʾemu knez | And the prince said to him: |
| 620: | s tákvíva xul͛ni tvóĭ réči na golemu: srь´dnju podígaš͛ me | ʺYou raise me to big anger with such words.ʺ |
| 621: | ʾi po mnógo mučenïe da tì dámь | ʺAnd I would give you more tortures.ʺ |
| 622: | ʾi da sè ne nádašь | ʺAnd do not hope,ʺ |

| 624: | prostréte go na zémli | ʺStretch him on the ground!ʺ |
| 625: | ʾi da gò bʾiete četvórica sa͒ súrovi žíli volov͛ski | ʺAnd (you) four, beat him with raw oxen sinews!ʺ |
| 626: | ʾi na pleští te mu turéte raz͛žažéni ʾuglíe | ʺAnd throw heated coal on his shoulders!ʺ |
| 627: | ʾi prokópia ne boeše se wt bólesti | And Procopius did not fear pain. |
| 628: | no mnógo ganàdeše flaviʾána | But he cursed at Flavianus a lot. |
| 629: | ʾi réče mu | And he said to him: |
| 630: | síne bezakóni ʾi zlomísalьniče večnóe mučénïe | ʺO you bastard and evil-thinker, (you may await nothing than?) eternal torment!ʺ |
| 631: | ʾjá drúga radóstь ne mamь wt takóvo no za xr͒ta móego stráždemь do sь´ga | ʺI have no other joy than to suffer for my Christ up to now!ʺ |
| 632: | togìva flaviănь réče: | Then Flavian said: |
| 633: | skóro ʾógnь prigotvéte | ʺPrepare the fire soon!ʺ |
| 634: | ʾi ražnì raz͛žežéte | ʺAnd heat up roasters,ʺ |
| da gò bodéte po ráni te | ʺso that you pierce him on his wounds,ʺ | |
| ʾi po své to telò da gò zbodéte | ʺand that you pierce him on the whole body!ʺ | |
| 635: | ʾi da sméšate ljúti ʾocetь ʾi suliménь da mù ulívate ráni te | ʺAnd mix strong vinegar with a corrosive salt (?), to pour it on his wounds!ʺ |
| 636: | ʾi tova sásь bl̃godarénïe prokópia pretrьpe | And with thankfulness, Procopius endured. |
| 637: | ʾi neprestáno xúleše na ĭdole | And he cursed the idols without a pause. |
| 638: | ʾi drugò zlò pómisli sì fláviănь | And Flavianus thought of another evil. |
| 639: | zavéde st̃ago u ednò kápište | He brought the saint to a pagan temple. |
| 640: | ʾi nasipá mu ʾu désnu rúku, ʾognь | And he poured fire (?) on his right hand. |
| 641: | ʾi na ʾóg͛nja turì ѳemjánь danó bi mu dosadílь ʾógnь | And he put thyme on the fire, so that the fire annoys him. |
| 642: | ʾi privedé go blízu prï idola | And he brought him close to and idol, |
| danó bi frьlílь pred͛ idola ѳémjanò | so that he would throw the thyme in front of the idol, | |
| ʾi da se narečè kakvò prinese ml͂tvu na ídole prokópia | and so that they would say, that Procopius made an offer to idols. | |
| 643: | takò mísleše fláviănь nesmisleníkь | Thus thought the fool Flavianus. |
| 644: | ʾá st̃i prokópia stoéše krep͛ko | And Procopius stood staunchly. |
| 645: | ʾi u rúku drьžéše ʾógnь dogdé mu sve ʾizgorè ruká ta | And he held the fire in his hand, until the hand burned totally. |
| 646: | ʾi flavíănь stói | And Flavianus stood. |
| 647: | ta gléda | And he watched. |
| 648: | ʾi m´nogo naródь ʾwkólь négo | And a lot of people (is) around him. |
| 649: | ʾi pogledà st̃i góre na nb̃o | And the saint looked up to the heavens. |
| 650: | ʾi reče | And he said: |
| 651: | udrьžáxь rúku moju desnujù | ʺI held fast my right hand (in the fire).ʺ |
| 652: | ʾi ímaxь múku žiléza téški na miš͛ci moę | ʺAnd I had tortures, heavy irons on my muscles.ʺ |
| 653: | ʾi sláva moę ʾi pómoštь búdetь spàsénïę móemu gd͒i | ʺAnd my glory and help will be for the sake of my salvation (?), o Lord!ʺ |
| 654: | i s desnícu tvojù prïimi m´e | ʺAnd receive me with your right hand!ʺ |
| 655: | ʾi pomozí mi | ʺAnd help me!ʺ |
| 656: | ne právedni súdia počudi se | The unjust judge was amazed. |
| 657: | ʾi réče | And he said: |
| 658: | ʾw múžeska síla prokópova | ʺO, (behold) the manly strength of Procopius!ʺ |
| 659: | ʾi páki réče súdię | And the judge said again: |
| 660: | tí si reklь kakò ne uséštašь mučénïe | ʺYou said, that you do not feel the torture.ʺ |
| 661: | ʾá zaštò uzdьxínjašь wt srdce | ʺSo why do you moan from the heart?ʺ |
| 662: | ʾi réče mu st̃i | And the saint said to him: |
| 663: | da nè rečéšь če mì dosádi wt mučénïe ʾi bólestь telésnaja | ʺDo not say, that I am annoyed by the torture and bodily pain!ʺ |
| 664: | ta uzdьxnúxь ʾi proslьzíx se radì tvoè bezúmie | ʺI moaned and shed tears because of your folly,ʺ |
| kakvò ne móžešь da poznáešь ʾistínago bg̃a | ʺas you are unable to understand the True God!ʺ | |
| 665: | ʾi poklánjaš͛ se na némi ʾidolè | ʺAnd you (still) bow to deaf idols!ʺ |
| 666: | ʾi zaradi: tovà čéka tebè ne gasími ʾógnь | ʺAnd because of that an inextinguishable fire is awaiting you.ʺ |
| 667: | ʾi drugo mučénïe pomísli fláviʿanь po gor͛ko | And Flavianus thought of another, more bitter torture. |
| 668: | ʾi réče da ʾwbésutь st̃ago za míšci te | And he commanded to hang the saint by arms, |
| ʾi téški kámen da ʾwbésutь na nozé te mu i | and to hang a heavy stone on his legs, | |
| da se rastrь´zne své teló to negóvo | so that his body is fully ripped apart. | |
| 669: | ʾi ni edno zlò ne prïide st̃omu ʾi wt tovà | And not even one evil came to the saint from that. |
| 670: | ʾi páki réče flaviănь | And again, Flavianus said: |
| 671: | napaléte péštь do sedmь puti | ʺIgnite a furnace seven times!ʺ |
| 672: | ʾi frьléte go u peštà | ʺAnd throw him into the furnace!ʺ |
| 673: | ʾi privedoxu vòĭne st̃ago pri ustá ta péštni | And the soldiers brought the saint to the mouth of the furnace. |
| 674: | ʾi prekrьstí se st̃i prokópia | And Procopius crossed himself. |
| 675: | i izíde plámenь ʾizь pešta | And a flame came out of the furnace. |
| 676: | ʾi pogóri sví te vóĭne što béxu tàmo | And it burned all the soldiers, who were there. |
| 677: | kogì vídoxu takóvo čúdo ʾelíne wt stràxь potreperáxu | When the pagans saw such a miracle, they trembled from fear. |
| 678: | ʾi uboę´xu se | And they feared. |
| 679: | ʾi viknáxu kolíko móžatь | And they cried as much as they could. |
| 680: | ʾw knéze flaviane dokogì štéšь da drь´žiš togóva magésnika | ʺO prince Flavianus, how long do you want to hold that sorcerer?ʺ |
| 681: | sьvь grádь xóče da se pokr͒ti wt négo | ʺThe whole city will get baptized because of him!ʺ |
| 682: | ʾi vidè mučítelь če nè može da prewbrь´ne st̃ago sa͒ níkakvo mučenïe | And the tormentor saw, that he cannot convert the saint with any (kind of) torture. |
| 683: | tьkmo umislì da gò posečè | He thought just to kill him. |
| 684: | ʾi povelé na voĭne da gò ʾizvedutь vónь ʾiz gráda ʾi da gò posečutь | And he commanded his soldiers to bring him out of the city to kill him. |
| 685: | kógi dóĭde st̃i do narečénoe mesto ʾi poréče na vóĭne da gò ʾwstávatь da sè poklóni bg̃u | When the saint came to the said place, he commanded the soldiers to let him to bow to God. |
| 686: | ʾi stánu na ístokь | And he stood towards the East. |
| 687: | i dígnu rúce | And he raised the hands. |
| 688: | ʾi réče | And he said: |
| 689: | bž̃e začúvai grádь ʾi ljudïe wt prelьst vrážni | ʺO God, protect the city and the people from the deception of the Enemy!ʺ |
| 690: | ʾi da prosvetítь elíne da stanutь xr͒tiani | ʺAnd may the pagans are enlightened to become Christians!ʺ |
| 691: | ʾi svì da se spodóbutь | ʺAnd may all become worthy!ʺ |
| 692: | ʾi da vnidutь va cr͒tvo nb͒no | ʺAnd may they enter the Kingdom of Heaven!ʺ |
| 693: | tova réče prokópija | Thus spoke Procopius. |
| 694: | i doʾide glásь wt nebesà | And a voice came from the heavens: |

| 696: | ʾi prïimi ugotovánь tvói venécь | ʺAnd accept the wreaths prepared for you!ʺ |

| 698: | ʾi prékloni glóvu | And he bowed his head. |
| 699: | ʾi posékoxa go mc͒a ʾiʾulia vь *i* dénь | And they killed him on the 8th day of Month July. |
| 700: | ʾi ʾōtide emu bl͂žénaja dš̃a sa míromь na nb͒sa | And his blessed soul went in peace to the heavens. |
| 701: | čúete li bl͂goródni xr͒tiăni | Do you hear, o noble Christians? |
| 702: | ʾi ver͛vate li kakvì téš͛ki múki protéglixu st̃í mč̃níci zardì ʾimè xr͒tóvo | And do you believe, how hard tortures holy martyrs endured in the name of the Christ? |
| 703: | ʾi da uveratь násь da gì praznúvame | And may they give us faith to celebrate them! |
| 704: | ʾi dá ne rečè nékoĭ | And let no one says: |
| 705: | móže li čl̃vékь tol͛kova muki pretrьpéti | Can anyone endure so much torture? |
| 706: | tó da ne bì pretrьpeli ʾi ne bi se posvetíli | If they would not endure, they would not become saints. |
| 707: | ʾi pogréboxu čt͒nóe telo ʾegw | And they buried his honorable body. |
