1:	Сло́во ҅ев́агриа дх҃овника ҆и целомꙋ́дриа ҆и ҆ѡ возрдьжáнїе ѿ слáдких бесе́дь жен͛ских	[Title] Homily of the cleric Evagrius and the prudent (one), about abstinence from sweet conversations with women
2:	҆и да не гле́дашь ꙋ лицѐ жен͛ско	[Title] And do not look at a woman's face
3:	҆и да не ҆ѡбꙗдаш͛ се мно́го да не наси́т͛вашь чре́во твоѐ довол͛но	[Title] And do not eat a lot so you do not satiate your gut fully
4:	ѿ насище́нїе чревꙋ ҆и пиꙗн͛ство ѿ него раждáет͛ се блꙋдь †	[Title] From satiety of the gut and from drinking - from this sin is born
5:	Целомꙋ́дрь чл҃ве́кь ҆и воздрьжáнїе дрьжѝ	A prudent man holds abstinence too
6:	и́ бои се ѿ бг҃а	And he fears God
7:	на то́ꙗ ст҃ь ко́й ҆има стрáхь бж҃їи на срдце ҆ѡнь ще да се́ весе́ли нá онꙗ ст҃ь	Whoever has fear of God in his heart on this world, will rejoice on the other world
8:	҆á ко́и́ се не бо́й ѿ бг҃а ҆и не ма страхь бж҃їи на срдце свое	And he, who does not fear God and does not have fear of God in his heart, does not abstain from any sin
	тоꙗ се не воздрь́жа ѿ ни еди́нь гре́хь	he does not abstain from any sin
9:	҆и льсти сво́ю̀ дш҃ꙋ ҆и те́ло	And he deceives his soul and body
10:	҆и пада ꙋ гре́хове мно́го ҆и тешки	And he falls into many and heavy sins
11:	и когѝ еде чл҃векь мно́го ҆и пие без ме́рꙋ ѿ товà се рáжда блꙋ́дь	And when man eats a lot and drinks with no measure, from this sin is born
12:	ко́й не ми́сли за .:. мꙋкꙋ вечнꙋю то́й мно́го ваво́ди дш҃ꙋ свою ҆и те́ло на ѕло̀	And he, who does not think of the eternal suffering, leads his soul and body to evil
13:	҆и ко́й не́ ма насит͛ство сась блꙋ́дное мрь́сно де҆ꙗ́нїе ҆и сась свѐ дꙋшꙋ свою погꙋ́бꙋва	And whoever does not have enough of the sinful dirty deed, destroys his soul with all
14:	ѿ мáсло расте пламен ꙋ кан͛ди́ло	The flame in a candle lamp grows from oil
15:	҆ꙗдене ҆и пикѐ пали се похо́тни; ҆о́гнь	The fire of lust is started in eating and drinking
16:	ко́й се прибли́жи при женꙋ̀ да слꙋ́ша ѿ ꙋста но́ини дш҃егꙋбни дꙋ́ми по дꙋ́ми те но́ини ҆и любодеꙗ́нїе бꙋдꙋ́ва	Whoever goes near a woman to listen soul ruining words from her mouth, he is lead into adultery by her words
17:	хоротà женьска е͒ кáто талáсь голе́мь	A woman's talking is like a big wave
18:	потопꙋва корáбль	It sinks a ship
19:	защо̀ ѿ хоротꙋ жен͛скꙋ подпожáрьва се то́҆ꙗ лю́ти похо́тни ҆о́гнь	For this fierce lustful fire starts from a woman's talking
20:	҆и помрачва чл҃ве́кꙋ ҆о́ко	And it blurs man's eye
21:	҆и ꙋмо мꙋ зано́си	And it puts (stain) on his mind
22:	҆и ꙋстре́лено би́ваеть срдце сáсь стре́лꙋ врáжїю	And the heart is being shot at with an enemy's arrow
23:	въво́ди те въ кꙋр͛вар͛ско смеше́нїе	It leads you to adulterous mingling
24:	҆и кои хо́ди по таково ѕлосмрадное кꙋр͛вар͛ство немꙋ е ҆и пáмето помрачень	And whoever commits such badly stinking adultery, his mind is blurred
25:	҅и не види каде хо́ди като бе́зьꙋмень	And he does not see where he is going, like a madman
26:	҆и ꙋпада въ коне́чное погꙋбле́нїе	And he falls into a final destruction
27:	҆и не хоротꙋ́ваи са͒ женꙋ̀ да нѐ ҆изгори́шь на ҆огнь сáсь ню	And do not talk with a woman so you do not burn in the fire with her
28:	коги́ те ви́ди женà ҆и хоротꙋ́ва сáсь те́бе като сáсь стре́лꙋ те ꙋдáри ꙋ срдце	When a woman sees you and talks to you, it hits you in the heart like an arrow
29:	҆á хꙋбо́сь жен͛ска дш҃ꙋ ҆и те́ло чл҃векꙋ погꙋбꙋва	And a woman's beauty destroys man's soul and body
30:	того рáди не дер͛зáи	Because of this dare not!
31:	не ходѝ по достоле́пни зꙗфе́те	Do not go to wonderful banquets
32:	че тамо ҆има жени добролични крáсни хꙋ́бави	For there are pretty-faced beautiful women
33:	но тѝ че́до не хоротꙋ́й сáсь жено́ю	But you, child, do not talk with a woman
34:	бе́гаи	Run!
35:	не гле́даи ꙋ лице но́ино ҆áко сáкашь до конца целомꙋдрь да бꙋдешь	Do not look at her face if you want to be prudent until the end
36:	҆á ти не дáи ҆о́брáзь на женꙋ да тѐ гле́да ҆ꙋ ҆очи	And do not give a woman your face so she looks into your eyes
37:	ни хоротꙋ́и сась ни́хь	Do not talk with them
38:	какво̀ кáже ст҃и їѡань златоусть паки дꙋ́мамь вáмь тихо ҆и сладко	What John Chrysostom says, I tell you again softly and sweetly
39:	медь кáпе ҆изь ꙋста жен͛ска когѝ хоротꙋва	Honey drops from a woman's mouth when she speaks
40:	҆á по́сле гор͛чи като̀ пели́нь	And then it is bitter as wormwood
41:	во ҆истинꙋ тáко е͒ не льжно	Truly, this is no deception
42:	ко́й се приле́пи при́ чꙋ́ждꙋ женꙋ мꙋ́чно мо́же да сп͒и дш҃ꙋ свою	Whoever gets stuck to someone else's woman, will have a hard time saving his soul
43:	и мнозина ѿ тако́во де́ло погибо́ша:	And many perished because of such a deed
44:	И по и́стинꙋ све́ки се́бе да чꙋва	And really every man should protect himself
45:	защо́ е товà ҆ꙗдь лю́ть	For this is a fierce anger
46:	погꙋ́бꙋва дш҃ꙋ нашꙋ ҆и те́ло	It destroys our soul and body
47:	ѕве́рь не ꙋкро́тень	Do not go near an untamed beast
48:	не прибли́жаи се при не́го
49:	тако́й ҆и при же́нꙋ млáдꙋ	As with a young woman
50:	не прико́снꙋ҆и се при́ ҆о́гнь	Do not touch the fire
51:	кол͛ко пристꙋ́пиш при ҅огнь щешь да сѐ ҆изго́ришь	As soon as you approach the fire, you will get burned
52:	҆и ско́ро ҆ѡздрáвꙗшь ѿ ҆о́гнь	And soon you heal from the fire
53:	҆á ѿ жен͛ски дꙋ́ми не мо́жешь ско́ро да ѿбегнешь догдѐ не сотво́ришь хоте́нїе но́йно	And you cannot run away from a woman's words soon, until you do as she wills
54:	҆и не пꙋща те ѿ се́бе да се ҆о́дво́йшь ѿ ню догде́ не поменешь стрáхь бо́ж҃їи	And she does not let you go from her to separate from her until you mention the fear of God
55:	҆и сáмь не можешь да ѿбе́гнешь ѿ ню	And you cannot run away from her by yourself
56:	того рáди чꙋ́вайте се ѿ тако́во зло начинанїе	Because of this protect yourselves from such evil actions
57:	҆и да се ҆избавиме ѿ вечнїѧ мꙋки	And let us save ourselves from the eternal suffering
58:	тиꙗ дꙋми не сꙋ токо за нáсь калꙋгере ҆или токмо за сщ҃еници но за сви́ людие кои сáка да се сп͒и	These words are not only for us monks or just for priests, but for all people who want to save themselves
59:	ѡ͒ хр͒те їи҃се господе нáшемь	Of Jesus Christ our Lord
60:	емꙋ же слáва со ҆оцемь ҆и со ст҃имь дх҃о́мь ҆и нинѣ ҆и присн͒ ҆и во веки век	Glory to him with the father and the holy spirit now and ever and forever
