15: | ʾi wtidè prezvíterь tamo da se pokaè pri nekoégo duxóvnago ʾóc͂a | And the presbyter went there to repent in front of some spiritual father |
16: | ʾi náĭde támo star͛ca | And there he found an old man |
17: | ʾi ʾispóveda popu vsę sógrešénïę | And he confessed his sin to the priest |
18: | ʾi po tova kazà ʾi kur͛var͛stvo sogrešénïe | And after that he told about the sin of adultery |
19: | ʾi réče mu stárecь | And the old man said to him: |
20: | wx prezvítere téžekь gréxь ʾéstь tója | ʺOh presbyter, this sin is a heavy one!ʺ |
21: | ne ubojá li se da slúžišь st̃uju litur͛gíju | ʺWere you not afraid to serve the holy liturgy?ʺ |
22: | ʾi reče pópь | And the priest said: |
23: | ʾeʾi ʾóč̃e st̃i služíxь: | ʺHoly father, I served itʺ |
24: | ʾi réče stárecь | And the old man said: |
25: | lepo glédai čádo | ʺLook closely (lit.: well), childʺ |
26: | kogì upadne pópь u takovi gréxь ne ima nemu prošténïe | ʺWhen a priest falls into such sin, there is no forgiveness for himʺ |
27: | no da nè slúži véče | ʺbut he will not serve any moreʺ |
28: | zašto sásь velíko pokaʾjanïe trébe da pristúpišь pri bg̃a | ʺfor you must approach God with great repentanceʺ |
29: | ʾi u eréĭstvo paki da ne prïĭdeš | ʺand (you must) not go back to priesthood againʺ |

32: | ne ĭmamь li ʾóč̃e pokaʿęnïe | ʺFather, do I not have repentence?ʺ |

35: | prostí me čádo gd͒a rádi | ʺForgive me, child, for Godʺ |

58: | po ĭstine reklь tï e st̃i stárecь ïeréju | ʺThe holy old man told it to you truthfully, fatherʺ |

70: | ʾi postríže go starécь petrь vъ monášeski ʾobrázь | And the old man Peter cut his hair in the image of a monk |
71: | ʾi béše sásь tija duxóvnici vъ póstь ʾi vь pokaʾjánïe | And he was fasting and repenting with those clerics |
72: | sa͒ slьzi neprestáno pláčeše za svóĭ grex | And he cried unceasingly with tears for his sin |

78: | ʾiskova juže želézno ʾi na juže to piróne | He forged an iron rope (wire) And on the rope (he forged) nails |
79: | ʾi ʾwkolь; šiju svóju ʾiskovà želézni ʾwkovi siréčь xápove | And around his neck he forged iron shackles, that is handcuffs |
80: | ʾi drugia kráĭ n južé to zakova u stenu | And he nailed the other end of the rope to the wall |
81: | ʾi kato se béše ʾwkovalь samь sébe ʾw´kajáni za sténu ʾi ne ʾizléze trí dnì prí star͛ca | And as he had nailed himself, the miserable one, to the wall, he did not go out to the old man for three days |
82: | ʾi stárec vidè če ne izlázi pópь ʾizь skutnicu | And the old man saw that the priest was not going out of the cellar |
83: | ʾá stárecь vъléze pri popà samь | And the old man hilself went in to the priest |
84: | ʾi vidè popà | And he saw the priest |
85: | ʾwkolь šïju popu ʾwkóvi želézni | Around his neck (were) iron shackles |
86: | ʾi ʾjuže želézno na šïju popu ʾi u sténu zakovano | And an iron rope (was) nailed to the priest's neck and to the wall |
87: | ʾi vidè stárecь | And the old man saw (it) |
88: | ʾi počudí se | and he started wondering |
89: | ʾi réče | and he said: |
90: | što si storílь sñe takóva čudesà | ʺWhy did you do such miracles, o son?ʺ |
91: | ʾi káko štešь da ʾizídešь na próxodь kato si se túka privezálь ʾi wkoválь | ʺAnd how will you go out for a pass (toilet?) if you have chained and shackled yourself here?ʺ |
92: | ʾi gdé li potrébu telù tvoému da ʾuzmešь | ʺAnd where will you take what you need for the body?ʺ |
93: | ʾá eréĭ: réče | And the priest said: |
94: | st̃i ʾóče ʾjá po naprédь bl̃gu merízmu ѳimjánovu nasitíx͛ se | ʺHoly father, first I had enough of the good scent of the incenseʺ |
95: | ʾi bl̃gago míra i ïzmir͛nu paki dovol͛no nasitíx͛ se | ʺAnd I had enough of the good peace and the myrrh tooʺ |
96: | ʾá sega zlosmrádia što ʾizlazi wt méne da se nasítimь | ʺBut now, let me satisfy myself with the evil stench, which pours from me.ʺ |
97: | zaštò telo me žen͛sko xotenïe voziskà | ʺBecause my body wanted the lust for women.ʺ |
98: | ʾi dš̃u ʾi télo moe ʾwmrьsíxь | ʺAnd I tainted both my soul and my body.ʺ |
99: | ʾi ne ʾimamь gdè glávu móju podkloníti | ʺAnd I have nowhere to put my head down.ʺ |
100: | no ti oč̃e bg̃ь da nastávi tvoju st̃inju | ʺBut you, father, let God guide your truthʺ |
101: | vъ dvà dnì ili vъ tri dnì da prinosíši mi málo xléba ʾi vódi; kol͛koto da živímь télo | ʺBring me a little bread and water every two days or three days just so I keep my body aliveʺ |
102: | ʾi prïimi; stárécь mol͛bu popóvu | And the old man accepted the priest's request |
103: | ʾi po dva dnì; prïnoseše ʾemu xlébь ʾi po màlo vódu | And every two days he brought him bread and a little water |
104: | ʾi pópь kogì zémeše wt toja xlébь ʾi sasь slьzi go ʾwbljaeše | And whenever the priest took from that bread, he poured tears on it |
105: | ʾi tako wt xléba edéše | And he ate from the bread like this |
106: | ʾi ter͛pe ʾónь u takóvo smrádno mésto trì gódinь | And he suffered at that stinking place for three years |
107: | ʾi po tovà rádi molénïe popovo ʾwprosti bg̃ь ʾemu sogrešénïe | And after that, because of the priest's prayer, God forgave him his sin |
108: | ʾi doide ʾánьgelь gd͒nь | And an angel of God came |
109: | ʾi reče mu | and he said to him: |
110: | ʾw ïeree gotóvь budí | ʺOh priest, be ready!ʺ |
111: | doĭde dénь da se prestávišь | ʺThe day has come for you to dieʺ |
112: | ʾi paki réče petru ʾágg̃elь | And the angel said to Peter again: |
113: | ʾidi star͛če | ʺGo, old manʺ |
114: | razréši; pokajanïe eréju | ʺAllow the priest repentenceʺ |

116: | ʾi reče ʾeréju | And he said to the priest: |

119: | ne wtvezuvai me wt stenu; | ʺDo not untie me from the wall!ʺ |
120: | tako privézanь da ʾumremь | ʺLet me die tied like this!ʺ |
121: | ʾá petrь reče | And Peter said: |
122: | ne déĭ čádo moe | ʺMy child, do not!ʺ |
123: | ne podobáetь tébe tako da bude | ʺIt is not appropriate for you to be.ʺ |
124: | ʾeréĭ bo ʾesì | ʺFor you are a priestʺ |
125: | no molítvu tébe da pročetemь na isxódь dš̃i | ʺBut let us read a prayer for the departure of your soul.ʺ |
126: | ʾi tako bg̃u dš̃u svoju predade | and so he gave up his soul to God |
127: | ʾi uspe sa mirom | and he died in peace |

neželi ʾi sasь staroju ženóju | (more?) than with an old woman. | |

131: | dobrè xraní se wt besédь žen͛ski ʾjáko že wt ʾwg͛nь | Guard yourself from idle discussions with women like from the fire. |

136: | ponéže ʾág͂gel͛ski venécь na glávu nášu nosïme | Because we carry an angelic wreath on our head(s). |
137: | ʾášte kóĭ popь ne razuméetь sïe pïsánie | If any priests does not understand this writing, |
tóĭ ni va cr͂kovь bž̃ïju da ne vnídetь | may he does not even enter a church of God! | |
138: | no ʾi mir͛janomь sïe níkakь da ĭzvestit | But do not even let him to speak to laymen about this! |
139: | poneže mi sś͂enici ʾesmi náše sogrešénïe da ne vnídetь vo uši mir͛janomь | Because we are priests. May our sin does not enter the ears of the laymen! |
141: | no sámi sébe da uničižíme | But let us destroy by ourselves. |
142: | ʾi da se pedep͛šeme dá ne va muku véčnuju upádneme | And let us educate ourselves, so that we will not fall into eternal torment. |
