| 3: | i ocъ i mati negova bexu elinci | And his father and his mother were Hellenes |

| 32: | i po nekoliko vreme umre starecъ | And at some time the old man died |

| 34: | a ѳeofanъ ostanu | but Theophanes stayed |

| 37: | i nauči go aggelъ gdnъ | And the Angel of God taught him |

| 49: | ta zapratixu ednogo sluga nixna da dovede ѳeofana | So they sent a servant of theirs over to bring Theophanes |

| 57: | i reče | And he said: | 
| 58: | ѳeofane pomoli se xrtu tvoemu za toju desnuju ruku | ʺTheophanes, pray to your Christ for this right hand!ʺ | 
| 59: | ako te skoro posluša da isceli moju desnu ruku | ʺIf he soon listenes and cures my right handʺ | 
| i ja da priidemъ na veru xrtiansku | ʺI will convert to the Christian faithʺ | |
| i vesъ domъ i čeda moę i vesъ gradъ da pokrtimъ dxomъ stimъ | ʺand I will baptize my whole home and my children and the whole town with the Holy Spiritʺ | |
| 60: | i ѳeofanъ dignu svoi ruce | And Theophanes raised his hands | 
| 61: | i pogleda gore u nbsa | And he looked up to the sky | 
| 62: | i potaino se bgu pomoli | And he secretly prayed to God | 
| 63: | i reče | And he said: | 
| 64: | gdi pomilui raba tvoego | ʺLord, have mercy on Your servantʺ | 
| 65: | i pokaži silu tvoju | ʺAnd show Your powerʺ | 
| 66: | i isceli cru sozdaniju tvoemu desnuju ruku | ʺAnd cure the right hand of the Emperor - a creature of Yoursʺ | 
| 67: | i da vidi vesъ narodъ istinu tvoju | ʺAnd let the whole nation see Your truthʺ | 
| 68: | i da se krti vesъ narod dxomъ tvoimъ stimъ | ʺAnd let the whole nation be baptized with Your Holy Spirit!ʺ | 
| 69: | i gdъ usliša molenie ѳeofanovo | And God listened to Theophanes' prayer |
