| 10: | ʾi vide ʾednò detè če umíra wt mrázь | And he saw that one child was freezing to death |
| 11: | ʾi sobleče svoju rízu ʾi dréxu | And he took his shirt and his coat off |
| 12: | ʾi wbléče onova detè | and the clothed that child |
| 13: | ʾi tako ʾwtidé si na dómь svóĭ gólь | And so he went home naked |
| 14: | ʾi pita go ʿwc͂ь ʾi mt̃i negóva | And his father and his mother asked him: |
| 15: | gdé ti e ríza ʾi dréxa čedo moè | ʺWhere are your shirt and your coat, my child?ʺ |
| 16: | ʾá wno réče | And he said: |
| 17: | xr͒tá oblékoxь | ʺI clothed Christʺ |
| 18: | ʾi reče mu oc͂ь | And his father said to him: |
| 19: | a koì e xr͒tósь | ʺAnd who is (this) Christʺ |
| 20: | ta gò ti ʾobléče | ʺthat you clothed himʺ |
| 21: | míe ʾer͛méa ʾi apolóna ver͛vame | ʺWe believe in Hermes and Apolloʺ |
| 22: | ʾá ti kakvò govórišь: čedo moe mílo | ʺAnd what are you saying, my sweet child?ʺ |

| 28: | ʾi dade go na rúku ʾednómu stáromu póstniku; | And He handed him over to an old hermit |
| 29: | ʾi stárecь prífanu ʾónova detè | And the old man took that child |
| 30: | ʾi nauči go ná kaluger͛ski ustavь | And he taught him the monk statutes |
| 31: | ʾi nauči go sś͂énuju knígu | And he taught him the Holy Book |
| 32: | ʾi po nekoliko vréme umrè stárecь | And at some time the old man died |

| 34: | ʾá ѳeofánь ʾwstanu | but Theophanes stayed |
| 35: | ʾi uléze u ednà péštera | And he went into one cave |
| 36: | ʾi posteše se negde tamo pet desétь ʾi ʾosemь gódinь | And he fasted there for fifty-eight years |
| 37: | ʾi nauči go ʾág̃gelь gd͒nь | And the Angel of God taught him |
| 38: | ta ʾizléze ʾizь péšteru | And he went out of the cave |
| 39: | ʾi vasédnu na ʾlva | And he mounted a lion |
| 40: | ʾi poide | And he went off |
| 41: | ta xodi šésь desétь konáci | So he went through sixty inns |

| 51: | ʾi dovéde gw | And he brought him |

| 53: | ʾi posle go zle mučíxu | And then they tortured him terribly |
| 54: | razlíčni múki vozložíxu na négo | They put him through different sufferings |
| 55: | ʾi kato gò bíeše cr̃ь karósь ʾiz božïemь povelénïemь isьxnu cr̃u désna ruka | And as Emperor Carus was hitting him, with God's will his right hand dried up |
| 56: | kogì vidè cr̃ь če mu ʾisьxna ruká ta ʾá ʾonь se upláši | When the Emperor saw that his hand had dried up, he got scared |
| 57: | i reče | And he said: |
| 58: | ѳeofáne pomolí se xr͒tu tvoému za toju désnuju ruku | ʺTheophanes, pray to your Christ for this right hand!ʺ |
| 59: | ʾáko te skoro poslúša da isceli moju desnu rúku | ʺIf he soon listenes and cures my right handʺ |

| ʾi vésь dómь ʾi čeda moę ʾi vesь grádь da pokr͒timь dx͂omь st̃imь | ʺand I will baptize my whole home and my children and the whole town with the Holy Spiritʺ | |

| 61: | ʾi pogledà gore ʾu nb̃sa | And he looked up to the sky |
| 62: | ʾi potáĭno se bg̃u pomóli | And he secretly prayed to God |
| 63: | ʾi reče | And he said: |
| 64: | gd͒i pomíluĭ rabà tvoegò | ʺLord, have mercy on Your servantʺ |
| 65: | ʾi pokaži sílu tvojù | ʺAnd show Your powerʺ |
| 66: | i ʾisceli cr̃u sozdánïju tvoemu désnuju ruku | ʺAnd cure the right hand of the Emperor - a creature of Yoursʺ |
| 67: | ʾi da vídi vésь naródь; ʾistʾinu tvoju | ʺAnd let the whole nation see Your truthʺ |
| 68: | ʾi da se kr͒ti vesь narod dx͂omь tvóĭmь st̃imь | ʺAnd let the whole nation be baptized with Your Holy Spirit!ʺ |
| 69: | ʾi gd͒ь uslišà molenïe ѳeofánovo | And God listened to Theophanes' prayer |
| 70: | ʾisceli cr̃u désnuju ego ruku | He cured his right hand |
| 71: | ʾi vidóxu cr̃ove te tovà čudo: ѳeofánovo | And the Emperors saw this miracle of Theophanes |
| 72: | i uplašixu se wt négo | And they got scared of him |
| 73: | ʾi fanuxu da víkatь | And they began to scream |
| 74: | gd͒i pomílui | ʺLord, have mercy!ʺ |
| 75: | ʾi kr͒tixu se carove te domi ʾi čeda níxni | And the Emperors were baptized, and their houses and their children |
| 76: | ʾi kr͒tí se vésь narodь što béše prišélь tamo | And the whole nation that had come over there, was baptized |

| 78: | ʾi ʾwtidé si paki vъ pešteru | And he went back to the cave |
| 79: | ʾi posti se tamʾo u pešteru | And he fasted there in the cave |
