5:	҆ѡч҃е ст҃и блáгословѝ сїе прочáстии	[Title] O holy Father, bless the reader!
6:	Єдно време ҆имаше еди́н чл҃векь ѿ дале́ко	Once there was a man from afar.
7:	҆и бе́ше по́шаль да йде ꙋ цр҃квꙋ да сѐ покло́ни ст҃омꙋ ми́не	He had departed to go to a church, to pay respect to St. Menas.
8:	па зáмрькнꙋ на чꙋ́ждо ме́сто	And so he came to a foreign place.
9:	а еди́нь чл҃ве́кь ҆излезе ѿ дома си	And one man came out of his house.
10:	҆и рече	And he said:
11:	пꙋ́тниче ҆ела на до́мь мо́й да преноще́вашь и ноще́ска	ʺCome, o traveller, to my house, to spend this night there.ʺ
12:	па сѝ ҆ютрѐ ҆иди	ʺAnd continue tomorrow.ʺ
13:	҆и до́йде пꙋ́тнико	And the traveller came.
14:	҆á домаки́но го́тви вече́рꙋ	And the host prepared a dinner.
15:	҆и пригледа ҆оного́ва пꙋтника	And he looked the traveller,
	че но́си ҆еди́нь, меше́ць пль́нь сáсь жльти́ци	(noticing) that he carries a purse full of golden coins.
16:	҆и чекà го догдѐ зáспа	And he waited until (the traveller) fell asleep
17:	та пà стáнꙋ домакинѡ ꙋ полꙋнощь	And then the host stood up at midnight.
18:	та сáмь сáсь свой рꙋке ꙋдꙋши ҆ѡного́ва пꙋ́тника	And then he strangled the traveller with his own hands.
19:	҆и сасе́че го на пáрчета	And he sliced him into pieces.
20:	҆и наложи го ꙋ ко́шницꙋ	And he put him into a basket.
21:	҆и скри́ го добрѐ ꙋ скро́вницꙋ	And he hid him well in a cellar.
22:	҆и ҆ѡбꙗде го стрáхь като̀ ꙋзе тол͛ко мно́го жльтици	And he was overtaken by fear after taking so much money.
23:	҆и поче да сѐ ҆ѡбзи́ра се́мо ҆и ѡнáмо	And he began to look here and there.
24:	трáжи́ скри́то ме́сто да го̀ зако́па	He was looking for a place where to dig it.
25:	догдѐ товà ҆онь поми́сли ҆и достáса хр͒то́вь мч҃ни́кь ми́на	And as he thought, Menas, the martyr of Christ, came.
26:	҆ꙗ́здеше на конꙗ̀	He was riding on a horse.
27:	҆и д҅ои́де мꙋ пред͛ врата на дома ҆ꙋби҆ицꙋ	And he came to the house of the murderer, in front of his door.
28:	҆и пи́таше го за сасечена того чл҃века ҆ѡного́ва чꙋждин͛ца	And he asked him about the sliced man, the stranger.
29:	҆и рече ст҃и мꙋче́никь ми́на	And the holy martyr Menas said:
30:	҆ѡ ꙋбїице кадѐ скрѝ ҆о́ного́ва стрáника чл҃века	ʺO murderer, where did you hide that stranger?ʺ
31:	҆á ѡнь кáже	But he said:
32:	не знáмь	ʺI have no idea.ʺ
33:	҆ꙗ́ това не смь виде́ль;	ʺI did not see it.ʺ
34:	ти що дꙋ́машь	ʺWhat are you talking about?ʺ
35:	҆á ст҃и мꙋ́ченикь ми́на сасе́де ѿ конꙗ	But the holy martyr Menas dismounted his horse.
36:	҆и срьди́то ҆ꙋ хи́жꙋ ꙋле́зе	And he went into the house with anger.
37:	҆и найде кош͛ницꙋ и пꙋ́тника сасе́чень	And he found the basket and the sliced traveller.
38:	҆извлече го	And he brought him out.
39:	҆и ре́че	And he said:
40:	ꙋбїице що ѐ товà	ʺO murderer, what is this?ʺ
41:	҆á ҆о́нь се ꙗко ꙋплашѝ	And he became very afraid.
42:	҆и ѿбе́же на странꙋ	And he ran away.
43:	҆á ст҃и мч҃никь ми́на ꙋзе ҆о́ного́ва сасе́ченаго чл҃века	But the holy martyr Menas took the sliced man.
44:	҆и састáви мꙋ тело́ то коѐ каде́ е би́ло	And he reconstructed his body, everything where it was.
45:	҆и помоли́ се бг҃ꙋ	And he prayed to God.
46:	҆и ре́че:	And he said:
47:	стáни чл҃ве́че пꙋ́тниче	ʺStand up, o traveller!ʺ
48:	҆и ѡживѐ пꙋ́тнико	And the traveller became alive.
49:	҆и ре́че мꙋ ст҃и	And the saint said to him:
50:	дáй бг҃ꙋ слáвꙋ	ʺGive glory to God!ʺ
51:	҆и ѡ́нь като ѿ сьнь стáнꙋ	And he woke up as from a dream.
52:	҆и ре́че ст҃и мч҃никь	And the holy martyr said:
53:	҆ѡ ꙋбїйце подáи жльти́ци те на того́ва чꙋжди́нца	ʺO murderer, give the money to the stranger!ʺ
54:	҆и ҆о́нь кáже	And he said:
55:	гд͒не ҆ꙗ́ не смь ꙋзель тиꙗ жль́тици на того́ва пꙋ́тникà	ʺSir, I did not take the money from the traveller!ʺ
56:	҆á ст҃и мина рече	But St. Menas said:
57:	скоро подáй злáто то	ʺGive the money at once!ʺ
58:	че ще бѝ ѿсечена главà твоꙗ̀	ʺOr your head will be cut off!ʺ
59:	҆и даде гѝ	And he gave them over.
60:	҆и ст҃и ми́на ꙋзе жль́ти́ци те	And St. Menas took the money.
61:	҆и дáде ги пꙋ́тникꙋ	And he gave them to the traveller.
62:	҆и рече мꙋ	And he said to him:
63:	стáни	ʺStand up!ʺ
64:	҆иди по пꙋ́ть тво́й са ми́ромь	ʺGo with peace on your journey!ʺ
65:	҆и испрати, ст҃и мꙋ́ченикь пꙋ́тника	And the holy martyr showed the way to the traveller.
66:	҆и врь́нꙋ се	And he returned.
67:	та фанꙋ ҆о́ꙋбїицꙋ	And he caught the murderer.
68:	҆и би́ го мно́го доволно	And he beated him sufficiently.
69:	҆и наꙋчи го на пáметь	And he taught him to remember.
70:	҆и ҆онь мꙋ сѐ мо́леше да мꙋ̀ дадѐ про́щенїе	And he prayed him for forgiveness.
71:	҆á ст҃и ми́на ва ско́ре мꙋ дáде проще́нїе	And St. Menas soon gave him forgiveness.
72:	҆и все́де на конꙗ̀	And he mounted his horse.
73:	҆и ѿстꙋпи ѿ ҆о́ч҃и ꙋбїици	And he stepped away from the murderer's eyes.
74:	А дрꙋ́ги чл҃векь сре́брено блю́до ҆ѡбре́че свето́мꙋ ми́не	And another man promised (to donate) to St. Menas a silver plate.
75:	҆и призовà хи́три златáре	And he invited clever goldsmiths.
76:	ї рече	And he said:
77:	направе́те ми две блю́да	ʺMake me two plates!ʺ
78:	҆и сми́сли се	And he thought a bit.
79:	та ре́че	And then he said:
80:	направе́те ми ҆едно блю́до на наро́кь светаго ми́ни	ʺMake me one plate for the sake of St. Menas!ʺ
81:	҆и напише́те на блю́до ҆име ст҃агѡ, мн҃чка ми́нꙋ	ʺAnd write on the plate the name of holy martyr Menas!ʺ
82:	҆á дрꙋго́ то блю́до на сво́й наро́кь ҆исковà	And he crafted the second plate for his own sake.
83:	҆и на не́го сво́ѐ ҆име напи́са	And he wrote his name on it.
84:	҆и почѐ златáрь да кове́	And the goldsmith began to craft.
85:	҆и две́ те блю́да соверши	And he finished the both plates.
86:	҆и коги́ ги совершѝ ҆изле́зе ст҃омꙋ ми́не блю́до то ҆ꙗ́ко хꙋбáво ҆и ле́по	And as he finished them, the plate for St. Menas was very beautiful.
87:	҆и свете́ше като̀ ѕвезда	And it shone like a star.
88:	҆и зане́се блю́до то ҆ѡ́нꙗ̀ чл҃ве́кь	And he brought the plate to that man.
89:	҆и покло́ни́ го ст҃омꙋ ми́не	And he bowed it (?) to St. Menas.
90:	҆áлѝ не дáде блю́до що бе́ше ҆ѡбре́кль ст҃о́мꙋ	But he did not give the saint the plate, which he had promised.
91:	защо̀ бе́ше по хꙋ́баво ѿ него́во то	Because it was more beautiful than his one.
92:	҆и дойде вре́ме да го́тви ҆ѡбедь гд͒нꙋ	And there came time to prepare a lunch to a lord.
93:	҆и ви́де блю́до то ст҃омꙋ ҆ꙗко хꙋ́баво	And he saw (that) the saint's plate (is) very beautiful.
94:	҆и рече на слꙋга та си да тꙋри гозбꙋ на то́ва блюдо щото го̀ бе́ше ҆ѡбре́кль ст҃о́мꙋ ми́не	And he said to his servant, to put the meals on that plate, which he had promised to St. Menas.
	҆и като бе́ше по хꙋбáво ҆и не досвиде́ мꙋ се да го̀ дадѐ	and which he did not give to him, as it was more beautiful.
95:	҆и тꙋри слꙋгà ꙋ блюдо то го́збꙋ	And the servant put the meals to the plate.
96:	҆и ꙋ дрꙋги пани́ци насипà мно́го ҆ꙗ́стиꙗ	And he put many meals into other pans too.
97:	҆и ѡбедꙋвáхꙋ	And they dined.
98:	и истреби́хꙋ трáпезꙋ,	And they emptied the table.
99:	҆и ꙋзе слꙋгà пани́ци те ҆и блю́до то	And the servant took the pans and the plate.
100:	҆и ѿидѐ нá край море да гѝ ми́е	And he went to the sea shore to wash them.
101:	҆и като̀ ми́еше блю́до то ст҃о́мꙋ ҆и нещо напáде на слꙋгꙋ̀	And as he washed the plate of the saint, something fell on the servant.
102:	҆и поче да дре́ме	And he began to doze.
103:	҆и еди́нь мꙋ́жь ҆ѡчи́весно ҆из море́ то ҆ѿ͛внꙋ из рꙋкꙋ слꙋгѝ блюдо то сре́брено	And suddenly, a man from the sea took the silver plate from the servant.
104:	҆и ҆ѡтидѐ	And he went away.
105:	тоги́зи ҆ѡнаꙗ слꙋга почѐ да трепе́ре	Then the servant began to tremble.
106:	҆ꙋплаши се злѐ ѿ гдра свое́го	He became afraid of his lord.
107:	҆и пꙋ́щи се по блюдо то ꙋ море́ тѡ	And he let himself into the sea for (the pursuit of) the plate.
108:	товà видѐ гд͒инь неговь	His lord saw that.
109:	҆и сась голе́мь глáсь ҆и жáл͛но дꙋ́маше	And he spoke with a strong and sorrowful voice:
110:	ѡͯ гор͛ко ме́не сиромáхꙋ	ʺO woe to me, the poor one!ʺ
111:	ꙗ́ко досвиде́ ми се	ʺFor I was avaricious.ʺ
112:	҆и не дáдохь блю́до сре́бено ст҃омꙋ мине	ʺAnd I did not give the silver plate to St. Menas.ʺ
113:	҆и погꙋбихь рáба мое́го.	ʺAnd I lost my servant.ʺ
114:	но те́бе се мо́ли́мь гд͒и бж҃е мо́й	ʺBut I pray to you, o my God.ʺ
115:	що с͛мь ҆ѡбрекль дá дадем	ʺI shall give what I have promised.ʺ
116:	токо да найдемь тело́ то рáбꙋ мое́мꙋ	ʺJust may I find the body of my servant.ʺ
117:	҆и да дадемь ꙋго́дникꙋ твое́мꙋ ми́не блю́до то сребре́но що го̀ немꙋ ҆ѡбре́кохь	ʺAnd my I give to your follower Menas the promised silver plate.ʺ
118:	и́ли като се е загꙋби́ло ꙋ мо́ре ценꙋ̀ ҆áспри да мꙋ подáмь за не́го	ʺOr, if it was lost in the sea, may I donate for him its price in money.ʺ
119:	҆и ҆изле́зе ҆ѡнáй гд͒арь	And the lord went out.
120:	тá призи́ра вос крáй море	And he watched over the sea shore.
121:	би́стро гле́да	He looks around quickly,
	дано́ би не́где виде́ль рáба сво҆его	so that he could glimpse his servant,
	да го е мо́ре не́где ҆исплавило	(if) he would be washed out somewhere,
	да го̀ нáйде	to find him,
	та да го̀ ꙋ зе́млю погребѐ	and then to bury him in the ground.
122:	҆и като ходеше ҆ѡнай гд͒арь по крáй море	And as the lord was walking at the sea shore,
	та трáжеше рáба свое́го	he searched for his servant.
123:	сакаше да го̀ найде ꙋдаве́нь мрьт͛вь	He expected to find him suffocated, dead.
124:	҆и коги погледа ҆и виде рáба свое́го	And as he looked closer, he saw his servant.
125:	изьлáзи ҆из море то	He went out of the sea.
126:	҆и блю́до то но́си ꙋ рꙋкꙋ	And he carried the plate in his hand.
127:	҆и кать виде гд͒инь слꙋгꙋ свою̀ зачꙋди́ се	And as he saw his servant, he wondered.
128:	҆и викнꙋ коли́ко мо́же	And he called as much as he could.
129:	ї ҆изл҆езохꙋ много людїе	And many people went out.
130:	҆и видохꙋ слꙋ́гꙋ че йде ҆и носи блю́до ҆ꙋ рꙋкꙋ	And they saw the servant carrying the plate in his hands.
131:	҆и ѡни́ се ꙋдиви́хꙋ свѝ	And they all were amazed too.
132:	҆и бл҃годáрехꙋ ҆и славехꙋ бг҃а	And they thanked and praised God.
133:	҆и питахꙋ сви́ те лꙋ́ге ѡ́ногова рáба да ви́дꙋть какво́ е сатво́риль	And the all people were asking the servant to see, what he did.
134:	҆исказа ҆имь рáбь по ре́дꙋ	The servant told them all.
135:	҆и ре́че	And he said:
136:	коги́ се, ври́нꙋхь ꙋ море́ то	ʺAs I dived into the sea,ʺ
	҆á еди́нь мом͛кь ҆ꙗ́кѡ хꙋбавь на ли́це ҆и дрꙋ́ги ҆още дво́йца та ме води́хꙋ по мо́ре́ то	ʺa boy with a beautiful face and also two others led me through the sea,ʺ
	вче́ра ҆и дне́ска ҆и до то҆ꙗ́ чáсь	ʺyesterday and today too, up to this hour,ʺ
	догде́ ме ҆изве́дохꙋ пáки на сꙋхо	ʺuntil they brought me again to the shore.ʺ
137:	тоги́ва гд͒инь ф҆áнꙋ рáба зá рꙋкꙋ	Then the lord took the servant by hand.
138:	҆и ꙋзе сре́брено блю́до	And he took the silver plate.
139:	҆и ҆ѿидѐ ꙋ цр҃квꙋ ст҃аго мч҃нка ми́ни	And he went to the church of holy martyr Menas.
140:	҆и поклони́хꙋ се; ст҃о́мꙋ ҆о́бразꙋ	And he paid respect to the holy icon.
141:	҆и ҆ѡстави́хꙋ блю́до	And they left the plate.
142:	҆и ѿ҆идохꙋ си	And they went home
143:	҆и славехꙋ бг҃а ҆и ꙋгодника хр͒то́ва ми́нꙋ	And they praised God and Menas the follower of Christ.
144:	но ҆и дрꙋга не́коꙗ чꙋдесà да вѝ скáжемь; хр͒тиáни за ст҃аго мч҃ника ми́нꙋ добрѐ да разꙋме́ете:	[Introduction] But let us tell you also about other miracles, o Christians, about the holy martyr Menas, so that you understand well.
145:	И еднà же́на ҆иде́ше ꙋ цр҃квꙋ све́то́мꙋ ми́не да мꙋ се покло́ни на прáзникь	And a woman went to the church of St. Menas to pay respect on his feast.
146:	҆и ѿ дале́ко ҆иде́ше	And she went from afar.
147:	҆и брь́за по скоро да дойде.	And she hasted to come soon.
148:	и еди́нь безꙋ́мень чл҃векь сти́гнꙋ ҆о́нꙋю же́нꙋ	And one mad man caught up with that woman.
149:	҆и сакаше дá ю̀ насилꙋ́ва на пꙋ́ть	And he wanted to rape her on the way.
150:	҆и фанꙋ ю	And he caught her.
151:	҆и поче да ю гово́ри не потре́бно	And he began to speak to her unappropriately.
152:	҆á онáꙗ женà ст҃аго ми́нꙋ на по́мощь призова,	But the woman called to St. Menas for help.
153:	҆и дꙋмаше	And she spoke:
154:	ст҃че ҆избави́ ме ѿ того́ва не смисле́наго мꙋ́жа	ʺO saint, free me from that mad man!ʺ
155:	по коѐ де́ло да ме́не ҆ѡскврьни́ть то́ꙗ бездꙋ́шникь	ʺNo matter, how that soulless man may taint me. (?)ʺ
156:	и ҆избавї ю ст҃и ми́на	And St. Menas freed her.
157:	не досе́гнꙋ се ҆о́нꙗ мꙋ́жь до ню̀	The man did not manage to get her.
158:	҆и като го бе́ше ҆издꙋль диáволь	And as he was so swollen by the Devil,
	та бе́ше фанꙋль ҆о́нꙋю женꙋ̀ да ю̀ насилꙋва	he caught the woman to rape her.
159:	҆и врьзал͛ си бе́ше ко́нꙗ за свою̀ де́снꙋ но́гꙋ	And he fastened his horse to his right leg.
160:	҆и нападе на женꙋ́ тꙋ	And he attacked the woman.
161:	҆á ко́нꙗ мꙋ се раскáча	But his horse began to jump.
162:	҆и полꙋдѐ	And he became mad.
163:	҆и ри́таше гд͒на своего̀	And he was kicking his master.
164:	҆и влáчеше го по землю стрáшно	And he was dragging him terribly on the ground.
165:	҆и хáпеше го	And he was biting him.
166:	҆и све мꙋ снáгꙋ сьдра	And he tore his whole skin.
167:	҆и ҆очи мꙋ на мал͛ко не испаднáхꙋ	And his eyes nearly fell out.
168:	҆и много чл҃ве́ци конꙗ̀ прети́чахꙋ дано́ би го ꙋловили	And many people pursued the horse to catch it,
	да ҆избáвать чл҃века того ѿ конꙗ́ того да го̀ не ꙋмо́ри	to free that man from the horse, so that it would not kill him.
169:	҆и ни́кой не можѐ да го зáпре догдѐ не отидѐ сам͛ сѝ ко́нꙗ при цр҃квꙋ ст҃аго ми́ни	And nobody could stop it, until the horse came to the church of St. Menas by himself.
170:	҆и чл҃века то́го завле́че при цр҃ква та	And he dragged the man to the church.
171:	и сась по́мощь ст҃аго ми́ни ꙋкроти се кон[ꙗ]	And with the help of St. Menas the horse was calmed.
172:	и стáнꙋ кро́токь като ҆ꙗ́гне	And he became tame as a lamb.
173:	҆и сабрá се мно́го наро́дь да гле́да чꙋдо	And many people gathered to watch the miracle.
174:	҆и ѿврьзахꙋ ҆ѡногова:. чл҃века ѿ конꙗ́ того	And they untied the man from the horse.
175:	҆и ҆ѡнь се бе́ше ѕлѐ ꙋплашил	And he had become very scared.
176:	҆и ҆ѿиде ꙋ цр҃квꙋ	And he went to the church.
177:	҆и припаде при́ ҆иконꙋ ст҃мꙋ мч҃никꙋ ми́не	And he fell to the icon of the holy martyr Menas.
178:	҆и рече	And he said:
179:	ѡͯ ми́ли бж҃е що стори́хь ꙗ товà ѕло	ʺO my dear God, what evil have I done?ʺ
180:	҆и мо́леше се ст҃омꙋ ми́не	And he prayed to St. Menas.
181:	҆и дꙋ-маше	And he spoke:
182:	да не поми́сли дрꙋ́ги не́кой чл҃векь зá тако́во ѕло безꙋмїе	ʺMay no other man thinks of such a mad deed!ʺ
183:	да сто́ри като ҆ꙗ́ ҆ѡ́каꙗ́нй	ʺMay he does like me, the wretched!ʺ
184:	҆и самь себе предáль бехь коню̀ да ме ҆ꙋмори	ʺAnd I have given myself to the horse to kill me!ʺ
185:	но сась по́мощь ст҃аго мини ҆избавихь дш҃ꙋ мо́ю	ʺBut with the help of St. Menas I saved my soul.ʺ
186:	тако́ва чꙋдесà твореше ст҃и мꙋченикь ми́на	Such miracles were being done by the holy martyr Menas.
187:	҆и до се́ле то́й тво́ри чꙋ́десà .:.	And he does miracles until now.
188:	҆и дрꙋ́го чꙋ́до да скáжемь вáмь хр͒тиꙗни за некоего чл҃ве́ка	[Introduction] May I also tell you about another miracle, o Christians, concerning one man.
189:	послꙋ́шаите коли́ко бе́ше чꙋдотво́рець ст҃и вели́комч҃никь: ми́на .:.	[Introduction] Listen, what a wonder-worker was the holy great martyr Menas.
190:	Имаше ҆едно̀ вре́ме ҆еди́нь чл҃век сáсь две́ те:. но́зе хро́мь ҆и една женà сáсь ҆ези́кь не́ма	Once there was a man lame on both legs, and a woman mute with her tongue.
191:	и не мо́жеше да дꙋ́ма	And she could not speak.
192:	҆и ѿидо́хꙋ ꙋ цр҃кꙋ ст҃омꙋ м[и]не	And they went to the church of St. Menas,
	за исцеле́нїе да сѐ покло́нать ст҃омꙋ;	to pay respect to the saint for healing,
	҆и да мꙋ се помо́лать дано̀ би ги ҆ѡздрáлвиль	and to pray to him for healing.
193:	защо бе́ше ст҃и мч҃никь ми́на чꙋдотво́рець,	Because the holy martyr Menas was a wonder-worker.
194:	҆и много людїе ҆исцел͛ваше	And he was giving healing to many people.
195:	та ѡздрáвлꙗхꙋ ѿ свекакви бо́лести	And they were being healed from various illnesses.
196:	когѝ би пре́зь ҆о́нáꙗ҆ нощ ле́гнꙋ ҆о́нꙗ хро́мь чл҃векь да спѝ	During that night, the lame man went to sleep.
197:	҆и ле́гнꙋ нема та женà ҆и ѡна да спѝ	And the mute woman went to sleep too.
198:	҆и поспáхꙋ сви те чл҃ве́ци що бе́хꙋ тáмо	And all the people who were there slept a bit.
199:	҆и дойде ҆ꙋ полꙋ́нощь ст҃и мч҃никь ми́на	And at the midnight, the holy martyr Menas came.
200:	҆и ꙗ́ви се нá сьнь ҆ѡчи́весно ҆о́номꙋ́ва хромомꙋ чл҃ве́кꙋ	And he appeared in the dream clearly to that lame man.
201:	҆и ре́че мꙋ	And he said to him:
202:	при́лази млькомь при не́мꙋ тꙋ же́нꙋ	ʺGo silently to the mute woman.ʺ
203:	҆и фанї ю за но́гꙋ	ʺAnd seize her leg.ʺ
204:	та да ҆ѡздрáвешь	ʺThus you will be healed.ʺ
205:	҆á не́мꙋ като̀ досрáмѐ ҆и не може да претрьпѝ	But as he felt shame, he could not suffer through.
206:	но ре́че	But he said:
207:	ст҃че ми́но ти ме́не кꙋр͛вáрина нари́чашь	ʺO holy man Menas, do you have me for an adulterer?ʺ
208:	та ми такáва дꙋма дꙋ́машь	ʺAs you tell me such words.ʺ
209:	҆á ст҃е́ць бж҃їй двáжди трижди ре́че мꙋ	But the holy man told him twice, thrice:
210:	҆áко това не сто́ришь не ще́шь да полꙋ́чишь ҆исцеле́нїе	ʺIf you do not do that, you shall not receive healing.ʺ
211:	҆и като мꙋ ре́че ст҃и ми́на тáꙗ дꙋма ҆и ѡнь при́лази мль́комь	And as St. Menas told that word to him, he crawled in silently.
212:	҆и фанꙋ не́мꙋю женꙋ̀ зá ногꙋ	And he caught the mute woman by leg.
213:	и ѡнá се разбꙋди	And she woke up.
214:	҆и протегнꙋ се	And she stretched.
215:	҆и ѿврьзлю се ҆ꙗ́зи́кь	And her tongue was untied.
216:	и фанꙋ да ѱꙋва ҆ѡного́ва хромцà	And she began to curse the lamer.
217:	҆и хромець се ҆ꙋплáши	And the lamer became afraid.
218:	҆и ѿ стрáхь скочи	And from fear he jumped up.
219:	та побе́же	And he ran.
220:	҆и нозе́ те мꙋ ҆оздраве́хꙋ каквото сї е би́ль здрáвь ҆и на предь	And his legs were healed, as he was healthy earlier.
221:	҆á женá та сась ꙗзи́кь ҆ꙗ́сно̀ продꙋма като̀ бе́ше не́ма	And the woman spoke clearly with her tongue, (although) she was mute.
222:	҆и з божїемь повеле́нїемь ҆и сась по́мощь ст҃аго ми́нꙋ ҆и ѡнà. продꙋмà	And, with the command of God and the help of St. Menas, she began to speak too.
223:	҆и разꙋме́хꙋ ҆и двá та ҆исцеле́нїе ст҃аго мч҃ника ми́нꙋ	And the both understood, (that they have received) the healing (by) holy martyr Menas.
224:	҆и мно́го наро́дь се почꙋди з҆á тїꙗ двà чл҃века какво̀ ҆исцеле́хꙋ	And many people wondered about those two, how they were healed.
225:	҆и прослави́хꙋ бг҃а ҆и ст҃аго мч҃ника ми́нꙋ;	And they praised God and the holy martyr Menas.
226:	♣ ѡ͒ бл҃гослове́ни хр͒ти҆áни послꙋ́шаите ѡ͒ще мáлко да покажемь вамь ҆и дрꙋ-га чꙋдеса преслáвна за ꙋгодника хр͒то́ва мч҃ни́ка ми́нꙋ	O blessed Christians, hear a bit more, so that I show you other glorious miracles of martyr Menas, the follower of Christ, too.
227:	҆имáше некой замáнь ҆еди́нь ҆евре́инь	There was once a Jew.
228:	та и́маше любо́вь сась ҆едно́го; хр͒тиáнїна	And he had a friendship with one Christian.
229:	та го̀ чт͒о гоще́ваше ҆и поеше	And so he often fed him and gave drinks to him.
230:	҆и ҆ꙗ́ко го ҆ѡби́чеше	And he loved him very much.
231:	҆и пойде ҆о́нꙗ хр͒тиáнинь на дрꙋгꙋ зе́млю да печáли	And the Christian went to another country to make money.
232:	҆и рече хр͒тиáнинь ҆евре́[...]	And the Christian said to (?) the Jew:
233:	подáй ми неколи́ко жльти́ци	ʺGive me some money.ʺ
234:	че ще́мь да ҆идемь на дале́кь да печáлимь	ʺBecause I go far to make profit.ʺ
235:	па коги си до́йдем ҆á щем͛ ти ги врьнꙋ̀	ʺSo, when I return, I will give them back to you.ʺ
236:	҆и евреин͛ мꙋ дáде злáтница мло́го	And the Jew gave him a lot of gold.
237:	҆и по́сле мꙋ дáде ҆единь ков͛че́жець сáсь трѝ хи́лꙗди жльти́ци	And then he gave him a small coffin with three thousand golden coins.
238:	҆и ѿидѐ	And he went away.
239:	҆и мно́го вре́ме се́де хр͒тианїнь тáмо гдето̀ бе́ше ҆ѿиш͛ль	And the Christian was there, where he went, for a long time.
240:	҆и поми́сли на срдце своѐ да сѐ ѿречѐ какво не ѐ ҆ꙋзе́ль ѕлáто ѿ ҆евре́йна	And he thought in his heart to deny that he took the gold from the Jew.
241:	҆и ми́нꙋ некол͛ко вре́ме	And some time passed.
242:	҆и дойдѐ хр͒ти́ӑнїнь	And the Christian returned.
243:	҆и еврейно ҆ѡтидѐ	And the Jew went out.
244:	҆и посакá си жльти́ци те що ѐ дáль на заемь хр͒тиӑнинꙋ	And he wanted back his gold coin, which he borrowed to the Christian.
245:	҆и хр͒тианїнь ре́че	And the Christian said:
246:	҆ꙗ́ товà не знáемь	ʺI don't know (about) that.ʺ
247:	що тѝ сáкашь ѿ ме́не	ʺWhat do you want from me?ʺ
248:	҆ꙗ́ товà, не́ смь ни чꙋль ни виде́ль	ʺI have neither heard (about) it, nor seen it.ʺ
249:	҆á евре́инь станꙋ; гри́жень	But the Jew became worried.
250:	҆и ҆ѡстави се	And he let it go.
251:	некол͛ко дни не дꙋмà: ни́що	For a few days, he said nothing.
252:	҆и пáки ҆ѿидѐ ҆евре́инь	And then the Jew went again.
253:	҆и ре́че хр͒ти҆анинꙋ	And he said to the Christian:
254:	брáте товà ѕлáто когѝ ҆ꙗ те́бе: дáдохь ни́кой не видѐ	ʺO brother, nobody has seen the gold, when I gave it to you.ʺ
255:	ть́кмо кле́тва ще да ҆ѡпрáви щото̀ сáкамь ѿ те́бе	ʺOnly an oath can make up for what I want from you.ʺ
256:	нело да йдеме ꙋ цр҃квꙋ ст҃аго † ми́ни	ʺSo, let us go to the church of St. Menas.ʺ
257:	҆и ҆ѿидо́х	And they (?) went.
258:	҆и сложи́хꙋ се ҆и дво́йца та пре́дь ҆иконꙋ ст҃аго	And the both put themselves in front of the icon of the saint.
259:	҆и закле́хꙋ се	And they took the oath.
260:	҆евре́инь ре́че	The Jew said:
261:	҆ꙗ́ тебе дáдохь злато на зáемь ко́вчаже́ць пль́нь сáсь три хи́лꙗди жльти́ци	ʺI have given you gold as a loan, a small coffin with three thousand gold coins.ʺ
262:	҆á хр͒тиӑнїнь кáже	And the Christian said:
263:	ꙗ не смь ҆ꙋзе́ль ѿ те́бе ни́какви жльти́ци	ʺI did not take from you no gold coins.ʺ
264:	закле́ха се	They sweared,
265:	҆и изле́зохꙋ ҆изь цр҃квꙋ	and they went out of the church.
266:	҆и вáседнáхꙋ на сво́й ко́нѝ	And they mounted their horses.
267:	҆и поидо́ша си	And they went away.
268:	҆á хр͒тианїнов ко́нь като̀ бе́сень скáчаше	But the Christian's horse was jumping like mad.
269:	҆и ꙋ́здꙋ хáпеше горго	And it was biting its reins bitterly.
270:	҆и гд͒инꙋ сво́емꙋ самрьть покáзваше	And it was showing death to its master.
271:	҆и фрь́ли го нá землю	And it threw him on the ground.
272:	҆и не ви́де какво ще́ше да го раси́пе ко́нь нá землю̀;	And he did not see, how the horse was going to break him on the ground.
273:	҆и като го̀ фрь́ли ко́нꙗ нá земи ҆испаде мꙋ из пазꙋха прь́стень ҆и ключь ҆и ке́сиа сáсь една ли́тра ѕлáто	And as the horse threw him to the ground, a ring, and a key, and a purse with a pound of gold fell from his bosom.
274:	҆и паки васе́доша на ко́ни свои	And they mounted their horses again.
275:	҆идехꙋ по пꙋ́ть с҆áсь ҆евре́ина	They went on the way with the Jew.
276:	҆á хр͒тианїно ҆ꙗ́-дꙋ́ва	And the Christian was angry.
277:	сте́нꙗ ҆изь дльбо́ко	He moaned deeply.
278:	҆и боле́ше го като го бе́ше ꙋбиль ко́нꙗ	And he was hurting, as the horse had beaten him.
279:	҆и ҆ѡбрьнꙋ́ се хр͒тиӑнинь,	And the Christian turned.
280:	҆и ре́че	And he said:
281:	дрꙋ́же ҆етѐ товà ме́сто ҆ꙗ́ко ҆ꙋго́днѡ:	ʺComrade, see, this place is very nice!ʺ
282:	да сасе́днеме да еде́ме хле́бь	ʺLet us dismount and eat a bit of bread.ʺ
283:	҆и саседнáхꙋ	And they dismounted.
284:	҆и пꙋщи́хꙋ ко́ни	And they set the horses free.
285:	҆и фанáхꙋ да ҆едꙋть хле́бь	And they began to eat the bread.
286:	҆и по малко не́що видѐ хр͒тиӑнїнь пристáвина [си́] сво́҅его	And after some time the Christian saw his servant,
	[че сас по пꙋть ѡ дома са] [сего прати гос͒дрца ключь]	that his wife sent him on the way with a key (?),
	че сто́й ҆и дрьжи ҆ꙋ еднà рꙋ́ка ҆евреиновь ко́вьче́гь	that he stays, holding the Jew's small coffin in one hand,
	҆á ꙋ дрꙋгꙋ рꙋкꙋ дрьжѝ прь́стень ҆и клю́чь	and that in the other hand he holds a ring and a key,
	що бе́ше ҆испáдло ҆изь пáзꙋхꙋ хр͒ти҆áнинꙋ	which fell out from the Christian's bosom,
	коги́ го фрь́ли ко́нꙗ нá земи	when the horse threw him to the ground.
287:	видѐ товà хр͒ти҆а-нинь	The Christian saw it.
288:	и ҆ꙋплаши се	And he became afraid.
289:	҆и ре́че при́стáвинꙋ	And he said to the servant:
290:	що ѐ товà	ʺWhat is this?ʺ
291:	҆á пристáвинь [сї] ре́че	And the servant said:
292:	҆ѡ гд͒не мо́й стрáшень ҆един мꙋ́жь на конꙗ̀ до́йде при́ гд͒ар͛кꙋ мою	ʺO my lord, one terrible man on a horse came to my mistress.ʺ
293:	҆и да-де й клю́чь ҆и прь́стень	ʺAnd he gave her a key and a ring.ʺ
294:	҆и ре́че и	ʺAnd he said to her:ʺ
295:	ско́ро зáпратѝ ҆евре́инꙋ ков͛чегь да нѐ ꙋпáдне ҆ꙋ бедꙋ̀ мꙋжь: тво́й	ʺSend the coffin to the Jew soon, so that your husband does not fall into misery!ʺ
296:	҆и ме́не товà дáде гд͒рка мо́ꙗ̀ да до́несе́мь те́бе	ʺAnd my mistress gave this to me, so that I bring it to you.ʺ
297:	҆Євре́йнь видѐ товà	The Jew saw it.
298:	҆ꙋди́ви се	He wondered.
299:	҆и ре́че	And he said:
300:	фáла бг҃ꙋ	ʺPraise (be) to God!ʺ
301:	каква би тáꙗ чꙋдесà	ʺWhat a miracle was that!ʺ
302:	҆и зарáдва се	And he was joyful.
303:	҆и врьнáхꙋ се сáсь хр͒тиӑнина ꙋ цр҃квꙋ ст҃о́мꙋ ми́не	And they returned to the church of St. Menas with the Christian.
304:	҆и поклони́ се ҆евре́инь до земли	And the Jew bowed to the ground.
305:	҆и сáкаше да сѐ покр͒ти на ве́рꙋ хри́стиан͛скꙋ по тако́ваго рáди чꙋдесà	And he wanted to get baptized by the Christian faith because of such a miracle.
306:	защо ҆и сáмь ви́де ҆евре́ино каквà ве́ра ҆имать; хр͒ти҅ани хꙋбава	Because the Jew himself saw what good faith the Christians have,
	҆и ст҃ци хр͒тиáн͛ски творат чꙋдеса	and that the Christian saints do miracles.
307:	҆и евреи́но се покр͒тѝ во́ йме дх҃а ст҃аго	And the Jew got baptized in the name of Holy Spirit.
308:	хр͒тианинь молеше се ст҃омꙋ да мꙋ ҆ѡпро́сти що се е заклель ҆и що бе́хꙋ бг҃ꙋ ҆еди́номꙋ согре-шили́	The Christian prayed to the saint for forgiveness for his oath and that they (sic) sinned against the One God.
309:	҆и сась по́мощь ст҃омꙋ мине при́҆ꙗхꙋ проще́нїе	And with the help of St. Menas they (sic) received forgiveness.
310:	҆и ҆ѿидо́хꙋ си ва сво́й домь	And they went home.
311:	҆и слáвехꙋ бг҃а ҆и ст҃аго мч҃ника хр͒то́ва ми́нꙋ	And they glorified God and Menas, the holy martyr of Christ.
312:	То́мꙋ же слáва, ҆и чт͒ь, ҆и поклоненїе	To him (be) glory, and honor and respect,
	҆о́ц҃ꙋ, ҆и сн҃ꙋ ҆и ст҃о́мꙋ, дх҃ꙋ,	to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
	ны́нѣ̀, ҆и при́сно, ҆и во ве́ки ве́ков,	now and ever, and forever.
