26: | i mnogo go bixu | And they beat him a lot |

39: | i na tova mesto sede ioanъ *ѯ* godinъ | And John sat there for 60 years |
40: | i drugo ništo za jadene ne maše | And he had nothing else to eat |
41: | tъkmo bereše divi roškovci i divi korenъci | He was taking only wild snails and wild roots |
42: | ta si dšu živeeše | Thus he fed his soul |
43: | i tova u tri dni edinъ putъ edeše | And even that he ate once in three days |
44: | i lice člveče *ѯ* godinъ ne vide | And he did not see a human face for 60 years |
45: | no sasъ divi zverove se vidvaše | But he was seeing each other with wild beasts |
46: | i negovo velikoe trъpenie vide gdъ | And the Lord saw his great suffering |

50: | i ot tuju trevicu blženi ocъ našъ sti ioanъ na mnoga leta požive | And our blessed father St. John lived for many years from that plant |

52: | i vide stago ioana | And he saw St. John |
53: | i otide | And he went away |
54: | i raskaza svude po sela i po gradove | And he told (about him) everywhere, in all villages and towns |

56: | i mnogo člveci pri nego prixoždaxu | And many people were coming to him |

58: | i sasъ molitvu stomu zdravie priimaxu | And by a prayer of the saint they were receiving health |

60: | i izide slava stomu po svu zemlju | And the glory of the saint went out all over the world |
61: | i mnogo xrtiani priidoxu da sedutъ pri nego | And many Christians came to sit with him |
62: | i tamo u onja verъtepъ deto sedeše sti ioanъ i tamo napravixu crkvu | And at that shack, where St. John was sitting, they made a church |
63: | i narekoxu stago načalnika i pastira | And they made the saint their leader and shepher |
64: | i onъ dobre paseše stado svoe | And he herded his flock well |
65: | i mnogo ljudie bgu privede | And he brought many people to God |
66: | i mnogo čudesa sotvori | And he made many miracles |
67: | i dlъboku starosъ dostignu | And he reached deep old age |
68: | i mnogo beše mltivъ | And he was very merciful |
69: | i sa mirom [...] životu priide | And (the end?) of his life came peacefully |
70: | i prestavi se | And he presented (himself to God, i.e. died) |

77: | i vidoxu celo telo to prepodobnomu ocu našemu ioanu | And they saw (that) the body of our Reverend Father John is whole |
78: | stoi ne pogroznelo | It remains intact |
79: | i xubava vonja i blaga merizma izlazi iz groba | And nice scent and good odor comes from the grave |
80: | i proslavixu bga | And they praised God |
81: | i prenesoxu čtni te mošti u sredecъ gradъ | And they carried the honorable relics over to the city of Sredets |
82: | i položixu gi u crkvu stomu eѵlistu luki | And they placed them in the church of St. Luke the Evangelist |
83: | i posle napravixu druga crkva prexubava | And afterwards they made a new, most beautiful church |
84: | i narekoxa ju vo ime stomu ioanu | And they named it after the name of St. John |

99: | ne mamъ ja u moe pisanie za togova člveka da se pomenuva ili da pravi čudesa | ʺI don't have (anything written) in my books about that man, that he should be respected or that he does miraclesʺ |

102: | azъ ne veruvamъ | ʺI do not believeʺ |
103: | i toja časъ oneme vldka ta | And in that moment the bishop became mute |
104: | i kato oneme a onъ pozna če zaradi tova čudo ioanovo oneme | And as he became mute, he understood, that he became mute because of a miracle of John |

106: | i skoro priide pri kovčego stomu ioanu | And he came soon to the coffin of St. John |
107: | i pripade na kolena | And he felt to his knees |
108: | i priplaka | And he started to cry |
109: | i pocelova stomu kovъčego | And he kissed the coffin of the saint |

114: | i pa mu podade celъbu i ezikъ | And he gave him healing and tongue |

134: | i patriarъxъ vasilija položi stago ioana na kola | And Patriarch Basileus placed St. John on a wagon |
135: | i poidoxu svi voine po putъ | And all the soldiers went on the road |
136: | sasъ radostiju velikuju idexu | They went with great joy |
137: | i sasъ pesni i veselie i slavexu bga i stago | And they praised God and the saint with songs and celebration and (...) |
138: | i sasъ tija voine idexu kalugere ot monastirъ stomu ocu i igumenъ ionikija sasъ nixъ | And monks from the monastery of the saint went with those soldiers, including Abbot Ioannikios with them |
139: | i samъ blgočestivi crъ skoro ottide na crki gradъ | And the honorable emperor himself went soon to the royal city |

141: | skoro napravete crkvu u gradъ i trъpezicu da položime stago oca | ʺMake a church and a table soon in the city, so that we place the holy father (there)ʺ |
142: | i vide crъ če približi patriarxъ vasilia i svi te voine što nosexu stago oca | And the emperor saw coming Patriarch Basileus and all the soldiers, who carried the holy father |
143: | i izleze paki samъ crъ da srešne stago na okopъ gradъski | And then the emperor himself went out to meet the saint at the ditches of the city, |
i svi boljare sasъ nego i voivodi i mnogo narodъ ljudie | and all the boyars with him, and dukes, and many many people | |
144: | i radъvaxu se na onova čtnoe telo | And they rejoiced at that honorable body |
145: | i vidoxa go | And they saw it |
146: | i poklonixa mu se | And they paid respect to it |
147: | i radvaxa mu se koliko ne može človekъ izrekti | And they rejoiced at it, so much that it cannot be told |
148: | i sede telo to prepodobnomu ocu na okotъ sedъmъ dni dogde se dogradi crъkva ta | And the body of the Reverend Father sat on the ditch for seven days, until the church was finished |
149: | i sovrъšixu ju | And they finished it |

152: | i bgolepъno i do dnešni denъ leži na vrъxъ zemlju tova čudotvornoe telo prepodonomu ocu | And that miraculous body of the Reverend Father gloriously lays until this day on the top of earth |
