1: | === Бл҃гослове́ни ҆и хр͒толюби́ви хр͒тиӑни́ бꙋ́де́те мл͒ти́ви ҆и посꙋшли́ви | [Foreword] Blessed Christ-loving Christians, be merciful and obedient! |
2: | ҆и разꙋмно̀ ме́не гре́шнаго послꙋ́шáйте | [Foreword] And listen to my sinful self reasonably |
3: | каквѝ дꙋми́ ҆ꙋписáхꙋ ст҃и ҆о́ц҃и ҆и пр͒ро́ци | [Foreword] What words were written by holy fathers and prophets |
4: | та ҆ѡстави́хꙋ нá зе́млю за велїкое про́славле́нїе бж҃ие ҆и чꙋдеса | [Foreword] And what they left on the Earth for the great praise of God and miracles, |
комꙋ какво̀ ҆изволѝ мл͒ти́ви же, бг҃ь: | [Foreword] what was given to each of them by the merciful God | |
5: | Имáше ҆едно̀ вре́ме ҆еди́нь чл҃ве́кь | In one time, there was a man |
6: | беше трьго́вець ҆и кꙋпе́ць бл҃гове́рень ҆и мл͒тивь | He was a merchant and seller, pious and merciful |
7: | ҆и много немꙋ бг҃ь давáше ҆имáне ♣ | And God was giving him a lot of wealth |
8: | ҆и ҆ѡнь све товà ҆именїе раздàваше на сиромáси | And he gave a lot of that wealth to the poor |
9: | ҆и по́йде дá йде по свою трьгови́нꙋ | And he went to do his business |
10: | ҆á еди́нь просе́кь си́ромахь прїиде да сáка ѿ него мл͒ти́ню за бг҃а | And one beggar came to him to beg alms for the God's sake |
11: | ҆á ҆ѡн҆ꙗ хр͒толюби́ви кꙋпе́ць ре́че прос҆ꙗ́кꙋ | And that Christ-loving seller said to the beggar: |
12: | нали́ ме видишь брáте че́ смь поше́ль на пꙋ́ть | ʺO brother, do you see, that I have gone to a journeyʺ |
13: | ҆и товар мо́й пꙋщи́хь | ʺAnd I sent my wares (before me)ʺ |
14: | ѡтидѐ напре́дь | ʺIt went before meʺ |
15: | ҆и не́ мамь ҆ꙋ рꙋ́ке ни́що да тѝ даде́мь | ʺAnd I have nothing in my hands to give youʺ |
16: | но моли́ се бг҃ꙋ за ме́не да с͛мь жи́вь | ʺBut pray to God for me, so that I remain aliveʺ |
17: | та коги́ се врьне́мь ҆ꙗ́ щемь тѝ дà за бг҃а коли́ко сáкашь | ʺAnd when I return, I will give you for God as much as you wantʺ |
18: | ҆á просе́кѡ ре́че на кꙋпцá того | And the beggar said to the merchant: |
19: | кáде щемь вече ҆ꙗ́ те́бе да видим да мѝ дадешь мл͒тин҆ꙗ зá бг҃а | ʺWhere will I see you, so that you give me alms for God?ʺ |
20: | ҆á кꙋпе́ць ре́че | And the merchant said: |
21: | ти брáте ме́не чекáй паки ва ти́а днѝ | ʺYou, o brother, wait for me these days againʺ |
22: | ҆ꙗ́ щемь па тꙋ́ка да ми́немь | ʺI will pass by here againʺ |
23: | ҆и тѝ ҆áко ме не нà҆иде́шь ҆ела | ʺAnd if you will not meet me, come,ʺ |
да ти покáжемь кадѐ ще́мь да тѝ ҆ѡставимь що мѐ бг҃ь нá҅ꙋчи | ʺmay I show you, where I'll leave what God taught (?) meʺ | |
24: | ҆и показá мꙋ | And he showed him |
25: | етѐ | ʺSee!ʺ |
26: | по́дь тꙋю̀ дс͛кꙋ ще́мь да тѝ ҆ѡстáвим | ʺBeneath this slab I will leave (something) for youʺ |
27: | ҆á тѝ земѝ що найдешь | ʺAnd you take what you findʺ |
28: | ҆и молѝ бг҃а за ме́не- | ʺAnd pray to God for meʺ |
29: | ҆и рече про́сꙗко | And the beggar said: |
30: | бл҃гꙋ дꙋмꙋ тѝ продꙋмà господи́не мо́й | ʺYou said a good thing, my lordʺ |
31: | ҆и отиде́ си кꙋпе́ць по сво́ю трьгови́нꙋ | And the merchant went to do his business |
32: | ҆и ми́нꙋ го́дина | And a year passed |
33: | ҆и до́йде просꙗ́ко на товà ме́сто дето мꙋ̀ бе́ше покáзаль кꙋпе́цо ҆ѡнꙋю д͛скꙋ | And the beggar went to that place, where the merchant showed him the slab |
34: | ҆и подигнꙋ ю | And he lifted it |
35: | ҆и найде, подь дскꙋ тꙋ сокро́вище злáто ѿ ѡдáвна скри́то | And undear the slab he found a golden treasure hidden a long time ago |
36: | ҆и до́йде но́щемь | And he came there at night |
37: | та йзвади ҆ѡнова злáто | And he took out the gold |
38: | ҆и стáнꙋ богáть ҆о́нꙗ про́секь | And the beggar became rich |
39: | ҆и кꙋпи си дворо́ве многоце́ни | And he bought himself precious palaces |
40: | ҆и кꙋ́пи си роби́е, ҆и робин͛ки ҆и се́ла ҆и ло́зиа ҆и воло́вь ҆и камили ҆и кѡ́ни ҆и маскѝ | And he bought himself servants (m/f), and villages, and vineyards, and oxen, and camels, and horses, and mules, |
҆и свекакво какво́то ҆има по дрꙋ́ги болꙗ́ре | and everything what other boyars have | |
41: | ҆á ꙋ не́го ҆ѡще по голе́ма рàбота | But he had even more |
42: | ҆и ꙋзе се́бе же́нꙋ ѿ болꙗр͛ско колено | And he took himself a wife from a boyar stock |
43: | ҆и поче да хо́ди на голе́мо на болꙗ́р͛ство | And he became to live as a big boyar |
44: | ҆и стáнꙋ слáвень | And he became famous |
45: | ҆и по не́колко днѝ дойде, ҆о́нꙗ бл҃говер͛ни кꙋпе́ць на то́ва ме́сто | And after some days that pious merchant came to that place |
46: | ҆и по́менꙋ ҆о́ного́ва сиромáха просꙗ́ка | And he remembered that poor beggar |
47: | ҆и ꙋзе, мно́го жльти́ци ҆ꙋ рꙋ́ке | And he took a lot of denars by hand |
48: | ҆и сакáше да гѝ тꙋ́ри по́дь ҆о́нꙋ́ю д͛скꙋ що сѐ бе́ше ҆обре́кль ҆о́номꙋва си́ромáхꙋ | And he wanted to put them beneath that slab, as he had promised that poor man |
49: | ҆и прїйде да гѝ ҆о́стàви | And he came there to leave them there |
50: | ҆á ди́ӑволь поразѝ ҆о́ного́ва кꙋпца | But the Devil struck the merchant |
51: | ҆и пáде на не́го ҆ꙗ́зва ѕла | And a very bad illness fell on him |
52: | рáни по свá та мꙋ снáга | (He had) wounds all over the body |
53: | крь́вь ҆и гно́й тече́ше ѿ не́го ѿ главꙋ до но́ге като̀ на бл҃же́наго ї҆ѡва | Blood and pus poured from him, from the head to toe, like from the blessed Job |
54: | ҆и много вре́ме носѝ кꙋпе́ць т҆иꙗ рáни | And the merchant carried those wounds for a long time |
55: | ҆и трáжеше врáча да го̀ ҆исце́ли | And he searched for a doctor to heal him |
56: | ҆и зарáди ти́а рáни ҆издаде си све́ то ҆именїе на врáчки | And because of those wounds he spent all of his wealth to doctors |
57: | ҆и не́мꙋ ни́що не ҆ѡстанꙋ | And nothing remained to him |
58: | ҆ѡстанꙋ̀ сиромáхь кꙋпе́цо | The merchant became poor |
59: | ҆и по́йдѐ да про́си за бг҃а мл͒ти́ню | And he went to beg for alms for the sake of God |
60: | ҆и зане́се го мл̂ти́ви бг҃ь ꙋ того́ва чл҃века дето̀ бе́ше напре́дь просек | And God the merciful brought him to that man, who was a beggar before |
҆и после стáнꙋ богáть дето̀ нáйде ѕлáто то по́дь ҆о́нꙋю д͛скꙋ | and then he had become rich, as he found gold under that slab | |
61: | та ꙋ него́вь до́мь прїиде кꙋпе́цо да про́си за бг҃а | And to his house the merchant came to beg for the sake of God |
62: | ҆и ҆о́нꙗ богáти чл҃векь при́фанꙋ того́ва рáненаго просе́ка | And that rich man took that wounded beggar |
63: | ҆и мислеше да го̀ дрьжѝ на сво́й до́мь да го чꙋ́ва ҆и да го хрáни | And he thought to hold him in the house to care for him and feed him |
64: | ҆и попита го | And he asked him: |
65: | ти ѿ кꙋде ҆идешь, странїче | ʺWhere are you from, o stranger?ʺ |
66: | ҆и какви́ сꙋ ти́а рáни на те́бе | ʺAnd what are those wounds on you?ʺ |
67: | ҆и толко лю́та бо́лесь ҆има на те́бе | ʺAnd you have quite a fierce illnessʺ |
68: | ҆á ҆о́нь ҆емꙋ по ре́дꙋ ҆исказà свѐ | But he told him everything thoroughly |
69: | ҆и разꙋмѐ бг҃áтиꙗ чло́векь че зарадѝ того́ва чл҃ве́ка дáде ҆емꙋ бг҃ь тол͛кова богат͛ство | And the rich man understood, that because of that man God gave him so much wealth |
70: | ҆и рече мꙋ | And he said to him: |
71: | ѡ͒ брате ти́ ли бе́ше ҆едно̀ вре́ме бол҆ꙗринь ҆и кꙋпец | ʺO brother, were you not once a boyar and a merchant?ʺ |
72: | ҆и ѡнь рече | And he said: |
73: | ҆áзь ҆есмь брáте | ʺIt is me, o brotherʺ |
74: | тоги́ва ре́че богатиꙗ чл҃ве́кь | Then the rich man said: |
75: | ҆ѡ мл͒ти́ви ꙋго́дниче мо́й брáте това ти що ви́дишь ҆ꙋ дво́рь мо́й хꙋбо́сь | ʺO merciful helper, my brother, what you see in my court, my beauty,ʺ |
свѐ заради тебѐ дарꙋва ме́не бг҃ь що нáйдохь ҆имане подь ҆о́нꙋю д͛скꙋ | ʺeverything was gifted by God to me because of you, as I found a treasure under that slabʺ | |
76: | ҆á сиромахь кꙋпе́ць ҆и то́й разꙋме | And the poor merchant understood |
77: | ҆и рече | And he said: |
78: | ҆ѡ бг҃ати чл҃вече ҆и брате́ мо́й ҆и | ʺO you rich man and my brother,ʺ |
҆и ме́не диáволь тꙋри таꙗ ѕла ҆и люта болесть зарадѝ те́бе | ʺand the Devil put this evil and fierce illness on me because of youʺ | |
79: | тоги́ва се сажалѐ на богáтиꙗ, чл҃векь | Then the rich man became sorry |
80: | ҆и ре́че | And he said: |
81: | ҆ѡ чл҃вече бж҃їй ҆áко бꙋде нападла таꙗ бо́лесть на те́бе зарадѝ ме́не ҆á ти се не бо́й | ʺO you man of God, if the illness fell on you because of me, have no fearʺ |
82: | доб͛рь е гд͒ь | ʺThe Lord is goodʺ |
83: | ҆и не щешь да излезнешь паки, ѿ до́мь мо́й бо́лень | ʺYou will not leave my house illʺ |
84: | ҆и ѿ трьпезꙋ мою не щеш да ҆ѡстáнешь глáдень | ʺAnd you will not remain hungry at (ʺfromʺ) my tableʺ |
85: | ҆и почитá щем те догде́ си жи́вь | ʺAnd I will honor you as long as you liveʺ |
86: | ҆и прие́мна го ꙋ до́мь сво́й | And he took him into his house |
87: | ҆и даде мꙋ ке́лию ҆и хꙋбавꙋ пости́лкю да седѝ | And he gave him a room, and a nice bed to sit |
88: | ҆и даде мꙋ слꙋ́га да мꙋ слꙋгꙋ́ва | And he gave him a servant to serve him |
89: | ҆и онꙗ болꙗ́рин сам͛ сѝ поѝде да приводи хи́три враче́ве да лекꙋвать кꙋпцá того | And that boyar brought good doctors by himself, so that they heal the merchant |
90: | ҆и мно́го врачо́ве приво́ди | And he brought many doctors |
91: | ҆и не може ни единь врачь да излекꙋ́ва тоꙗ зль недꙋгь | And not a single doctor could heal that evil malady |
92: | ҆и после до́йде ҆единь врачь | And then one doctor came |
93: | ҆и рече | And he said: |
94: | види́те́ ли таꙗ ѕла болесь ҆и тиа злѝ рани | ʺDo you see this bad illness and those bad wounds?ʺ |
95: | не може ни́кой да ги ҆о́здрáвѝ нитѝ да гѝ ҆исцели | ʺNothing can make them healthy or heal themʺ |
96: | токо̀ ҆áкѡ ҆има не́кои дете прьвене́ць да го зако́лете | ʺOnly if someone would have a first-born baby, may you kill itʺ |
97: | ҆и сась таꙗ крь́вь да намáжете того́ва чл҃века ѿ глáвꙋ до но́ги | ʺAnd then smear that blood on that man from head to toeʺ |
98: | та ѿ товá ще да ѡздрáве ҆о́нь | ʺAnd by that he will be healedʺ |
99: | ҆á ѿ дрꙋго ни́що не мо́же ҆ѡздрáве тоꙗ челове́кь | ʺBut nothing else can heal that manʺ |
100: | ҆и какво чꙋ тáꙗ дꙋ́ма ҆ѡнꙗ богáти чл҃ве́кь ҆и тꙋри ю на срдце сво́ѐ | And as he heard that word, the rich man took it to his heart |
101: | че ҆имаше ҆о́нь детѐ прьвен͛че младен͛че | For he had a first-born baby |
102: | ҆и по́мисли да сѝ зако́ле дете́ то зарадѝ, того́ва чл҃века да го̀ ҆ѡздрáви | And he tought to kill his own child because of that man, to heal him |
103: | ҆и гледаше да йдѐ женá та мꙋ не́где да ю не́ ма домà | And he was waiting for his wife to go somewhere, so that she is not at home, |
да си зако́ле дете́ то та да ҆ѡздрáви того́ва болнаго члове́ка | so that he would kill the child and heal that ill man | |
104: | ҆и до́йде де́нь ҆и чась | And the day and hour came |
105: | та ѡтиде женá та мꙋ на бáню да сѝ ҆о́ми́е снáгꙋ ҆и глáвꙋ | And his wife went to a bath, to wash her body and head |
106: | ҆и ѡкꙋпá си дете́ то | And she washed her baby |
107: | ҆и подои го | And she fed it |
108: | ҆и тꙋри го ꙋ лꙋ́л͛кꙗ да спѝ догдѐ до́йде ҆онà ѿ бáнꙗ та | And she put it into a crib to sleep, until she returns from the bath |
109: | ҆и́ ҆ѡтидѐ на баню | And she went to the bath |
110: | ҆á бащà на дете́ т҆ѡ стáнꙋ | But her father stood up upon the child |
111: | ҆и влезе ꙋ хи́жꙋ | And he went into the house |
112: | ҆и наиде детен͛це то си, свое тꙋрено ꙋ лꙋл͛кꙋ пре́крито ҆и заспало като ҆ꙗ́гне | And he found his child placed in the crib, covered and sleeping like a lamb |
113: | ҆á ѡнь би тол͛ко не мл͒тивь | And he was so merciless |
114: | ҆и ꙋзе гѡ без ми́лости | And he took him without mercy |
115: | ҆и не пожáли за сво́е ми́ло детен͛це младен͛че | And he did not spare his nice little baby |
116: | ҆и зáкла го | And he slaughtered it |
117: | ҆и источи мꙋ крьв тá та ҆ꙋ ҆една манечка копáнꙗ | And he poured his blood into a small bowel |
118: | ҆и пакь зане́се сво́е мрь́тво детен͛це | And then he brought his dead child back |
119: | ҆и па го тꙋри мрьтво ꙋ лꙋл͛кꙗ та | And he placed it dead in the crib |
120: | ҆и пре́кри го какво́то е и́ го бе́ше прекри́ла мáйка мꙋ | And he covered it, like his mother had done |
121: | ҆и поведе ҆о́ного́ва бо́лнаго чл҃века на скри́то ме́сто | And he took the ill man to a hidden place |
122: | ҆и собле́че го голь | And he stripped him naked |
123: | ҆и ꙋзе, ҆ѡнаꙗ крь́вь ѿ дете́ то | And he took that blood from the child |
124: | ҆и помаза болнá того чл҃века ѿ глáвꙋ до но́ге | And he smeared that ill man from head to toe |
125: | ҆и какво мꙋ помáза тело́ то ҆и то́ꙗ чась ҆ѡздрáве | And as he smeared his body, he became healthy at the moment, |
каквото си е би́ль здрáвь ҆и прьви́нь | as he was healthy before | |
126: | товá чꙋдо сотвори бг҃ь да верꙋ́ваме по́ йстинꙋ | That miracle was done by God for us to believe |
127: | защо̀ гд͒ь бг҃ь много милова ти́ꙗ мл͒ти́ви чл҃веци дето̀ давать сиромáхꙋ за бг҃а | Because Lord God loves the merciful ones, who give to poor (alms) for the God's sake |
128: | ви́дите ли хр͒ти҆ꙗ́ни коли́ко лю́бовь ҆имаше то҆ꙗ́ чл҃вкь за бг҃а | Do you see, o Christians, how much love did have that man for God? |
129: | та ҆и дете сво́е зáкла зарадѝ ми́лость бж҃и́ю | He even killed his own child for God's mercy! |
130: | ҆и до́йде ѿ баню майка на дете тѡ | And the mother came back from the bath to the child |
131: | ҆и вле́зе ꙋ хи́жꙋ | And she entered the house |
132: | ҆и прїиде да си зе́ме дете́ то да си го подо́й | And she went to take the child to feed it |
133: | ҆и ѿкри на де́те лице́ то | And she uncovered the face of the child |
134: | ҆и ѡно фанꙋ да плáче като̀ све́ко детѐ | And it began to cry like every baby |
135: | ҆и чꙋ баща на дете то глáсь че плáче | And the father heard the voice of the child, that it cries |
136: | ҆á ҆ѡнь скоро дотр҆ь́ча да ви́ди кáкво бѝ това чꙋ́до | And he quickly ran there, to see the miracle |
137: | ҆и виде, сво́е детѐ пáки ҆ѡжи́вело | And he saw the child, having become alive again |
138: | ҆и рече | And he said: |
139: | хвáла бг҃ꙋ | ʺPraise (be) to God!ʺ |
140: | ꙗ товà мое дете заклахь за ҆исцеле́нїе тѡ́мꙋва чл҃векꙋ | ʺI slaughtered this child of mine to heal that manʺ |
141: | ҆á бг҃ь нáшь ҆ис҃сь хр͒то́сь сто́ри чꙋдеса | ʺBut our God Jesus Christ made miracles!ʺ |
142: | та го ҆ѡжи́ви зарадѝ нась ҆и за вера да верꙋ́ваме ҆и да прослáвиме бг҃а | ʺAnd he revived it because of us for the sake of faith to believe and to praise Godʺ |
143: | ви́дите ли хр͒тиáни какво чи́ни бг҃ь знаменїе ҆и чꙋдеса | Do you see, o Christians, what signs and miracles does God make? |
144: | болнаго ҆ѡздрáви | He heals the ill |
145: | ҆á мер͛тваго ҆ѡжи́ви | And He revives the dead |
146: | Томꙋ же слáва ҆и чт҃ь ҆и поклоненїе | To Him (be) the glory and honor and respect, |
҆о́цꙋ и сн҃ꙋ ҆и ст҃омꙋ дх҃ꙋ | to Father and Son and the Holy Spirit, | |
н҆инѣ ҆и при́сно ҆и во ве́ки веко́вь | now and ever and forever | |
147: | ҆áминь .:. | Amen |
148: | се́ бо бг҃ь ҆о́бо́ю рáди ве́ри, сотво́ри ҆и мл͒ти́ни ради | For this God had done for the sake of both faith and mercy, |
҆и любве ҆и ҆ѡ братстве | and (for the sake of both) love and brotherhood, | |
҆и ҆ѡ не верꙋющи́хь да ве́рꙋ ҆имꙋть | and (for the sake of) unbelievers, so that they believe | |
149: | про́чее мл͒ть бж҃їа | And the following (is?) mercy of God |
