| 13: | pa imaše edinъ ♣ golemъ knezъ u onai gradъ | and there was a great prince in that city |
| 14: | i nemu beše ime sivlikia | his name was Symblicius |
| 15: | ta reče na slugi te si da mu privedutъ ѳeodotu devicu | and he said to his servants to bring him the maiden Theodota |
| da ju ispita šte li da se otfrъli ot xrtovu veru | so that he can ask her, whether she would cast herself away from the Christian faith | |
| 16: | i mlogo vreme ju drъža | and he held her for a long time |
| 17: | ta ju sveki denъ dumaše | and he said to her every day: |
| 18: | teodoto device otfrъli se ot xrtovu veru | ʺo maiden Theodota, cast yourself away from the faith of Christʺ |
| 19: | ta priidi na našu veru xubavu | ʺand come to our nice faithʺ |
| 20: | i naši bgove poverъvai | ʺand believe in our godsʺ |
| 21: | a ona kaže | but she said: |
| 22: | o knezu bezumni niti veru vašu sakamъ niti bga vašego vervamъ | ʺo mindless prince, I neither wish your faith, nor I believe in your godʺ |
| 23: | togiva se zle rasrъdi siglikitъ knezъ | then Symblicius got very angry |
| 24: | ta povele na slugi te si | so he gave a command to his servants |
| 25: | ta obesixu ѳeodotu sasъ glavu na dole | and they hanged Theodota with her head upside down |
| 26: | i svuju snagu sasъ železni nokti sadraxu | and they ripped all of her body with iron claws |
| 27: | i ona trъpeše | and she suffered |
| 28: | i bgu se verno moleše | and she prayed to God faithfully |
| 29: | i pa dumaše | and then she spoke: |
| 30: | ja se nikakъ ne boim što mi stružete telo sasъ žilezni nokti | ʺI have no fear from your ripping of my body with iron clawsʺ |
| 31: | a knezъ siglikia ošte po zle se srъdi | and prince Symblicius got even more angry |
| 32: | ta reče | and he said (a command) |
| 33: | ta ju okovaxu | and they fettered her |
| 34: | i u tevnicu ju frъlixu | and they threw her into a dungeon |
| 35: | ta sede zatvorena *z* dni | and she said incarcerated for 7 days |
| 36: | kogi bi osmi denъ sasъ bžiemъ poveleniemъ sama se otvori tevnica očevidno | on the eighth day she opened the dungeon by herself with the God's allowance |
| 37: | a stražare te kato vidoxa če se sama ottvori tevnica a oni se jako uplašixa | but the guards, as they saw the dungeon open, they got very scared |
| 38: | i skoro utidoxa | and they went quickly |
| 39: | i kazaxu siglikiju knezu | and they told to prince Symblicius |
| 40: | a onъ gi ne veruva | and he did not believe them |
| 41: | nelo reče | but he said: |
| 42: | privedete ѳeodotu da ju pitamъ kakva magia znae | ʺbring me Theodota, so that I can ask her, what kind of magic she knowsʺ |
| 43: | ta se sama otvara temnica | ʺso that she opens the dungeon by herselfʺ |
| 44: | i kakvo e ozdravela snaga ta ju za *z* dni | ʺand how could she make her body heal in 7 daysʺ |
| 45: | i pita ju knezъ | and the prince asked her |
| 46: | ti kakva si ta se ot mčnie ne boišъ | ʺwhat the hell are you, that you fear no torment?ʺ |
| 47: | togiva staja ѳeodota reče | then St. Theodota said: |
| 48: | da se pomrači umъ tvoi da bi imalъ pametъ | ʺmay your mind darkens, so that you remember:ʺ |
| 49: | ti bi videlъ če smъ ja ѳeodota devica | ʺyou would see, that this is me, maiden Theodotaʺ |
| 50: | i tova ču siglikija knezъ | and Symblicius heard it |
| 51: | ta sa ošte po zle rasrъdi | so he became even more angry |
| 52: | ta povele peštъ da napalatъ razъžažena | and he commanded to ignite a furnace powerfully |
| 53: | i frъlixa u peštъ stuju mčnicu ѳeodotu | and they threw the holy martyr Theodota inside |
| 54: | i kato ju frъlixu izide plamenъ izъ usta ta peštni | and as they threw her in, a flame came out of the mouth of the furnace |
| 55: | ta isgori *o* mužie | and 70 men were burnt |
| 56: | a što ostanuxu zdravi oni zatvorixu na peš ta usta ta | and the remaining healthy ones closed the mouth of the furnace |
| 57: | i otidoxa si | and they went away |
| 58: | kogi bi treti denъ a knezo zaprati dva popa idolъski i ošte nekoliko člveci | on the third day, the prince sent two idolatrous priests and some other people |
| da idutъ na peš ta da zberut pepelъ ot telo to stei ѳeodoti | so that they go to the furnace to collect the ashes of the St. Theodota's body | |
| 59: | če oni rekoxa če se e zgorela ѳoodota u peš ta | for they said, that Theodota was (already) burnt |
| 60: | ta da ju zberatъ ot kosti te pepelo | so that they could now collect the ashes from the bones |

| da go ne ma nigde | so that there is no (trace of it) anywhere | |
| 61: | i otvorixu usta ta na peš ta | and they opened the mouth of the furnace |
| 62: | pa izide plamenъ | and then a flame came out |
| 63: | ta izgori i dva ta popa | And it burned both priests |
| 64: | a onia člveci što bexa sasъ popove te | And those people, who were with the priests |
| a oni vidoxu ѳeodotu če sedi u sredъ peš ta | they saw Theodota sitting in the middle of the furnace | |
| miždu dva momъka na obrazъ beli kato snegъ | between (what looked) like two boys, who were white like snow | |
| 65: | i kato vidoxa takovo preslavnoe čudo oni se uplašixu | and as they saw such a most famous miracle, they got scared |
| 66: | ta stanuxu kato mrъtvi | and they became like dead |
| 67: | a ѳeodota paki zdrava izleze is peštu ognenu | and Theodota again came out healthy from the fiery furnace |
| 68: | ništo na nju ne povredeno | there was no harm on her |
| 69: | nelo peeše | but she sang |
| 70: | i bga moleše da ju dade bgъ trъpenie | and she prayed to God for torment |
| 71: | i tova vide siglikitъ knezъ | and Symblicius saw it |

| 78: | i reče knezъ na edinъ verenъ sluga | and the prince said to one loyal servant: |
| 79: | idi vrъži ѳeodotu | ʺgo (to) bind Theodotaʺ |
| 80: | i zavedi ju u idolsku crkvu | ʺand bring her to the idolatrous churchʺ |
| što se zove kapište | ʺwhich is called a templeʺ | |
| 81: | i ako se ne pokloni na naši te bgove | ʺand if she will not bow to our godsʺ |
| ja štemъ ju togiva sasъ mъčъ posekti | ʺI will cut her down with sword thenʺ | |
| 82: | a ona kato ču taja duma ta se jako zaradva | and as she heard it, she became very happy |
| 83: | i zavedoxa ju u kapište | and they brought her to the temple |
| 84: | i ona se pokloni samomu xrtu | and she bowed to Christ himself |
| 85: | a idole te svi te padnuxu na zemlju | and the idols fell down to the ground |
| 86: | ta se sakrušixu | and they fell apart |
| 87: | ta stanuxu kato praxъ i pepelъ | and they became like dust and ash |
| 88: | a knezъ togiva veče ne ma što da stori | and the prince could do nothing then |
| 89: | no povele na četvorica voine da ju rastegnut da ju pretrijut sasъ trivonъ | so he commanded four soldiers to stretch her and smear her with oil (?) |
| 90: | i pretrixu ju preko sredъ | and they smeared her in the middle |
| 91: | i metnuxu ju u edinъ trapъ | and they threw her into a pit |
| 92: | i minu nekolъko vreme | and some time passed |
| 93: | a knezъ samъ otide da vidi dali nekoja gadъ izede stuju ѳeodotu | then the prince himself came to see, whether some vermin ate St. Theodota |
| 94: | otide | he went |
| 95: | i paki ju zdravu naide u trapo | and he found her healthy again in the pit |
| 96: | a onъ se veče udivi | and he was already amazed |
| 97: | i zagubi svoi zloumni pametъ | and he lost his evil mind |
| 98: | i reče na voine svoi skoro ѳeodoti glavu sasъ mъčъ otsečete | and he said to his soldiers: ʺQuickly cut off the head of Theodota with a sword!ʺ |
| 99: | i otsekoša ei čtnuju glavu | and they cut off her honorable head |
| 100: | ottide kъ bgu | she went to God |
| 101: | i venecъ uze mčničeski | and she received the laurels of martyrdom |
