4: Двá дꙋхо́вника неко́й ҆идеха ѿ дале́ко Some two priests were coming from afar
5: та до҆идо́ха ҆ꙋ тáр͛са грáда за не́коꙗ потре́ба So they came to the city of Tarsus for some need
6: па не́ маю ни́где конáкь да прено́щеваю but there was nowhere any inn they could stay at
7: но попитáхꙋ сáмь тáмь за не́коꙗ ҆áхчи҆иницà but they asked here and there about some eating house
8: мал͛ко́ нещо би повечерáли they would eat a little something for dinner
9: ҆и дано бѝ тꙋка, пренощꙋвáли, and they would hopefully spend the night here
10: ҆и найдоха ме́сто, да преноще́вать And they found a place to spend the night at
11: когѝ замрькнахꙋ тáмо й повечерáхꙋ When they were overtaken by the night there and had a dinner
12: па в҆идо́хꙋ ꙋ хи́жа та трѝ мꙋжїе млáди they saw in the hut three young men
13: ҆и при́ ни́хь седѝ же́на, блꙋ́дница and a harlot is sitting with them
14: ҆á ҆ѡнїа дꙋхо́вници като̀ видоха то́ва ҆ѡни се смꙋти́ха сáсь пáметь And as these priests saw this, they were disturbed in their minds
15: и ҆ꙗ́ко ймь злѐ до҆иде and they took it badly
16: ҆и поми́сли еди́нь ѿ ни́хь да ҆излезнать ѿ тá҆ꙗ хи́жа да йдꙋть на дрꙋго ме́сто And one of them thought they could go out of this hut and go someplace else
17: ҆á дрꙋги́а дꙋхо́вникь ре́че And the other priest said:
18: сто́й брáте ʺWait, brother!ʺ
19: не́ можеме ни́а ноще́ска да йзле́знеме ʺWe cannot go out during the night!ʺ
20: защо смѐ, ниѐ ҆оч҃е на чꙋ́ждо ме́сто ʺFor we are, father, at a stranger's placeʺ
21: нело трьпѝ ʺBut resistʺ
22: ҆и б҃а молѝ догдѐ сь́мне ʺand pray to God until it dawnsʺ
23: ҆и дꙋхо́вникь послꙋшà And the priest listened
24: ҆и ѿ тáмо ни́где не ҆ѡтиде And he did not go anywhere from there
25: нело̀ брькна ꙋ влàгáлище but he reached into a bag (?)
26: та ꙋзе ст҃о́ еѵлїе and he took the Holy Gospel
27: ҆и почѐ да четѐ and he began reading
28: ҆á блꙋдницá та видѐ ҆оного́ва дꙋхо́вника че четѐ ꙋ ст҃ое ҆еѵ҃лїе and the harlot saw that this priest was reading from the Holy Gospel
29: ҆á онà ҆о́стáви ҆о́ни́а трѝ мꙋжи́е and she left these three men
30: ҆и ҆ѡтидѐ прѝ дꙋхо́вника and she went to the priest
31: та се́дна бли́зꙋ при не́го and she sat down near him
32: ҆á ѡнь ю раскáр͛ва but he sent her away
33: ҆и дꙋ́ма ю and spoke to her:
34: ҆ꙗ́ко ми сѝ на пáкось дошлà ѡ͒ стрáстнице мрь́сна какво́ се не ꙋплаши ʺif you came to me for evil, o you filthy passionate woman, how did you not get scared?ʺ
35: нело сѝ дошлà ʺbecause you have comeʺ
36: та сѝ седнáла, то́л͛ко бли́зꙋ прѝ ме́не ʺand you have sat down so close to meʺ
37: ҆á ҆о́нá мꙋ ре́че And she said to him:
38: какво̀ да сѐ ꙋплáшимь ҆оч҃е ʺWhy should I be scared, father?ʺ
39: не гнꙋси́ се ѿ менѐ ʺDo not be repulsed by meʺ
40: защо́ смь ҆ꙗ́ женà блꙋдни́ца ʺFor I am a harlotʺ
41: та сáмь ҆испль́нена са све́какви гре́хове ʺAnd I am filled with all kinds of sinsʺ
42: но не дей ме ѿри́нꙋ ѿ се́бе дáко самь блꙋ́дница ʺBut do not shove me away from you, even though I am a harlotʺ
43: ҆и ҆ꙗ се нáдамь на хр͒та бг҃а нáшего ʺI put my hopes on Christ, our God, tooʺ
44: защо́ е ҆онь надѝ свѝ нáсь ʺFor he is above all of usʺ
45: ҆и ꙗ се нáдамь на сн҃а бг҃а живаго ʺAnd I count on the Son, the living Godʺ
46: ҆áзь ѿ то́҆ꙗ чáсь не ще́мь вечѐ да йдем да чи́ньмь то҆ꙗ́, гре́хь ʺFrom this hour on I will not ever go and commit this sinʺ
47: ҆áко мѐ ви́е ҆о́ч҃е на пꙋ́ть прав настáвите ʺif you, father, show me the right wayʺ
48: ҆и ѡни́ ю ре́коха And they said to her:
49: ѡ͒ че́до ҆áкѡ̀ нѝ послꙋ́шашь ми́е ще́ме те́бе ҆ѡ того́ва гре́ха ҆избави́ти ʺO child, if you listen to us, we will free you from that sinʺ
50: ҆и ҆ѡна ҅ѡставѝ ҆ѡниа трѝ мꙋжие ҆и товà сре́бро ҆и злáто що бе́ше спечали́ла сáсь то́҆ꙗ те́жакь грехь And she left those three men and that silver and gold that she had earned with that heavy sin
51: та ҆ѡтидѐ с҆áсь ҆ѡниà дꙋхо́вници and she went with those priests
52: ҆и ҆ѡни́ ю заве́доха ꙋ деви́чески мн͒трь and they led her to a convent
53: ҆и проче́техꙋ надѝ глáвꙋ нойнꙋ ст҃ꙋю бж҃естве́нꙋ мл҃твꙋ and they read the Holy Prayer over her head
54: ҆и постри́же дꙋхо́вникь ҆ей глáвꙋ and the prest cut her hair
55: ҆и покалꙋ́гери ю and she took the veil (lit. ʺhe turned her into a nunʺ)
56: ҆и предáде ю на рꙋкꙋ же́не ҆игꙋменѝ
57: ҆и тамѡ́ седѐ мари́ꙗ чети́ри де́сеть го́динь And there sat Maria for forty years
58: би жива She was alive
59: та свѐ плáчеше and she always cried
60: ҆и дꙋмаше and she spoke:
61: ѡͯ ми́ли бж҃е доко́ле сльзи мо́й да течꙋ́ть гре́хь радѝ, мо́й ʺO dear Lord, until when will my tears fall because of my sin?ʺ
62: ҆и бг҃ь ю̀ ҆ѡпростѝ гре́хь що бе́ше бг҃ꙋ греши́ла And God forgave her the sin she had commited
63: ҆и тáмо седѐ до стáрости на ҆ѡнꙗ мн͒трь And she stayed there in that monastery until old age
64: ҆и мно́го рáзꙋмь бе́ше доби́ла And she had got much reason
65: ҆и чꙋдеса тво́реше and she was working miracles
66: ҆и са ми́ромь, бг҃ꙋ, дх҃ь, предад(е) and she yielded up her soul to God in peace
