9:	kogi edinъ denъ sproti stuju parasveѵu otidoxu na pazarъ	One day, before Saint Parascheva, they went to the market
10:	ta si kupixu maslo i vosokъ i ѳimianъ	and bought themselves oil, wax and incense
11:	i prigotvixu si što imъ trebe da idutъ u crъkvu	and prepared what they needed to go to the church
12:	a drugi petъ ženi bexu boljarki	and other five women were boyars
13:	a tia sirotici te otidoxu pri boljarъki te da gi podъkanatъ da idutъ i oni u crkvu	and these paupers went to the boyars to urge them too to go to the church
14:	a boljarki te imъ rekoxu	and the boyars said to them:
15:	vie idete u crkvu	ʺYou go to the churchʺ
16:	zašto čekate nasъ	ʺWhy are you waiting for us?ʺ
17:	nie kogi sta šeme nie šteme doiti	ʺWhen we want to get up, we will goʺ
18:	i onię sirotici požalixu kato imъ deknaxu boljarki te	And these paupers regreted it when the boyars scolded them

20:	i uzexu si potrebiju	and they took their utensils
21:	i otidoxu u crkvu	and they went to the church
22:	i priidoxu predъ stię ikoni	and they went in front of the holy icons
23:	i ukrasixu si kanъdilca	and they adorned their candle lamps
24:	i zapalixu si sštici	and they lit candles
25:	i uzexu broinički	and they took rosaries
26:	i vikatъ	and they say:
27:	gdi pomilui	ʺLord, have mercy!ʺ

32:	i rekoxu buini te na mudri te	And the foolish ones said to the wise ones:
33:	daite i namъ ot maslo to vaše	ʺGive us too from your oilʺ
34:	zašto su kanъdila ta naši ugasnuli	ʺFor our candle lamps went outʺ
35:	a mudri te se obrъnaxu	And the wise ones turned around
36:	i rekoxu imъ	and said to them:
37:	ete	ʺHereʺ
38:	i namъ ne dososa	ʺWe are out of it tooʺ
39:	i nikakъ ni ne ostanu	ʺand we have nothing leftʺ
40:	idite na pazarъ	ʺGo to the marketʺ
41:	i kupete sebe maslo ot gdeto se prodava	ʺand buy yourselves oil from where it is soldʺ
42:	i oni se povrъnuxu da idu na pazarъ da si kupatъ maslo	And they went back to go to the market to buy themselves oilʺ
43:	i priidoxu gdeto se prodava	and they went where it is sold
44:	i zatvoreni bixu vrata	and the doors were closed
45:	i ne možexu da si kupatъ maslo	and they could not buy oil
46:	i ostanaxu imъ svetilъnici ugasnuli	and their candle lamps stayed unlit
47:	ni možexu da se bgu pomolatъ	They could not pray to God
48:	i otidoxu si doma grižni	and they went home worried
49:	i vozdremaxu	and they dozed off
50:	i spaxu do polunošti	and they slept until midnight
51:	i razbudixu se	and they woke up
52:	i stanaxu posle	and then they got up
53:	i doidoxu i drugi te ženi	and the other women came too
54:	i dumaxu imъ	and spoke to them:
55:	rečete	ʺSay:ʺ
56:	gdi gdi otvori namъ vrata otvori	ʺO Lord, o Lord, open the door to us!ʺ
