| 4: | И҆ѡсифь неко́й беше | There was a certain Joseph | 
| 5: | ѕе́ло лю́беше хр͒та | he loved Jesus very much | 
| 6: | ѡтиде ꙋ пилáта | he went to Pilate | 
| 7: | та сáка тело́ то: исꙋ͒во да го̀ сь́мне ѿ кр͒то | and he asked (him) for the body of Jesus, to take it from the cross | 
| 8: | ҆и пойде разꙋмно ♣ ҆и смере́но | and he went wisely and calmly | 
| 9: | ҆и рече | and he said: | 
| 10: | дай ми пилате того́ва ҆ѡби́днаго мрьт͛вьца | ʺo Pilate, give me that poor dead manʺ | 
| що́ е станꙋ́ль като̀ ѡсꙋдень ҆и рáспеть | ʺwho has ended up judged and raised on a crossʺ | |
| като ҆еди́нь чꙋждинець ҆и дето го ни́кой не трáжи | ʺas a stranger and sought for by no oneʺ | |
| 11: | като̀ че е ѿ не знáма стрáна сиромах ҆и без до́мь | ʺas if he was a poor man without a house, from an unknown countryʺ | 
| 12: | но дай ми пилáте того́ва распе́таго чл҃века да го погребе́мь ҆ꙗ́ | ʺbut give me, o Pilate, that man on the cross, so that I bury himʺ | 
| 13: | защо ꙋченици те него́ви бегáхꙋ | ʺbecause his disciples fledʺ | 
| 14: | ҆и ҆ѡставиха го го | ʺand they left himʺ | 
| 15: | ҆ꙗ́ ти се молим пилáте | ʺI pray you, o Pilateʺ | 
| 16: | дрꙋго ти ни́що голе́мо не сáкамь | ʺI do not want anything big from youʺ | 
| 17: | нь мáлко нещо | ʺbut a small thingʺ | 
| 18: | ҆и послꙋшай ме | ʺand do as I willʺ | 
| 19: | та ми́ дай того́ва не почетенаго | ʺso give me that unrespected oneʺ | 
| дето ѐ доше́ль да почете́ на͒ | ʺwo came to give respect to usʺ | |
| ҆и чꙋждинець дето щѐ да сп͒и род чл҃вечески на, цр͒тво нб͒ное | ʺand (that) foreigner, who will save the mankind for the Kingdom of Heavenʺ | |
| 20: | до́ста мꙋ е що го̀ осꙋдихте | ʺit was enough for him, that you have judged himʺ | 
| 21: | по се́нова престáнꙋ зави́сть фарисейска | ʺafterwards (?) the jealousy of the Pharisees ceasedʺ | 
| 22: | ҆и ꙋмири́ се врáжда ҆июдейска. | ʺand the hate of the Judaeans softenedʺ | 
| 23: | ҆и сьврьши́ се дꙋ́ма та на кни́жници те | ʺand the word of the scribes was fulfilledʺ | 
| 24: | нь товà ти се мо́лимь пилáте | ʺbut that is what I pray from you:ʺ | 
| 25: | ҆даи ми того́ва чꙋжди́н͛ца да го покри́емь ҆и да го̀ погребе́мь | ʺgive me that foreigner, so that I will cover him and bury himʺ | 
| 26: | ҆ꙗ́ да се загри́жимь за не́го | ʺI will care for himʺ | 
| 27: | защо смь ҆ꙗ́ негов рáбь ҆и ве́рень дрꙋгар негов | ʺbecause I am his servant and loyal friendʺ | 
| 28: | ҆и ти пилате да се покáжешь чл҃векь кро́токь | ʺand you, o Pilate, may show yourself as a well-mannered manʺ | 
| 29: | ҆и ко҆ꙗ́ ти е файда да висѝ на кр͒ть рáспеть и го́ль: | ʺwhat benefit do you have from having him on the cross, hanging naked?ʺ | 
| 30: | нь ми го̀ дáй да го ҆ѡблече́мь | ʺbut give him to me, so that I can clothe himʺ | 
| 31: | защо̀ по сьга нико́й не щѐ продꙋ́ма те́бе за не́го | ʺfor afterwards no one will speak to you about himʺ | 
| 32: | защо́ се саврьшѝ рабо́та | ʺbecause the work is doneʺ | 
| 33: | затова ти́ се моли́мь пилате | ʺthat is why I pray you, o Pilateʺ | 
| 34: | дай ми того́ва мрьтвьца | ʺgive me that dead bodyʺ | 
| 35: | послꙋ́ша ме | ʺdo as I wantʺ | 
| 36: | защо́ е ꙋмре́ль на кр͒ть заради на͒ | ʺbecause he had died on the cross for usʺ | 
| 37: | защо́ го нико́й не знáе | ʺbecause nobody knows himʺ | 
| 38: | ҆á ꙗ го знам ко́й е ҆и що́ ѐ | ʺbut I know him, who and what is heʺ | 
| 39: | Такви́ва дꙋми смере́ни и ꙋмиле́ни продꙋмà и҆ѡсифь пилáтꙋ | such wise and nice words told Joseph to Pilate | 
| 40: | тоги́ва стáнꙋ пилáть | then Pilate stood up | 
| 41: | ҆и даде ҆и҆ѡсифꙋ тело́ то хр͒то́во | and he gave the body of Christ to Jesus | 
| 42: | ҆иѡси́ф го сьмнꙋ ѿ кр͒ть | Joseph took it down from the cross | 
| 43: | ҆и ҆ѡбви́ го сáсь мирне́но плáтно | and he wrapped it in a scented cloth | 
| 44: | ѡ͒ бл҃же́ни рꙋце тво́й ҆иоси́фе | o, blessed are your hands, o Joseph! | 
| що́ сꙋ пофáнꙋли такво́во чт҃ное те́ло | for having touched such a honorable body | |
| 45: | ҆и бл҃же́ни ҆оч҃и тво́й що сꙋ виде́ли таквáва снáга | and blessed are your eyes, for having seen such a flesh | 
| 46: | ҆и бл҃жень ҆есѝ ҆и҆ѡсифе | and you are blessed, o Joseph | 
| ҆и трѝ бл҃же́нь | and thrice-blessed | |
| 47: | защо сѝ ти би́ль най ве́рень слꙋгà хр͒то́вь | because you have been the most loyal servant of Christ | 
| 48: | та го̀ свáли ѿ кр͒ть | and thus you put him down from the cross | 
| 49: | ҆и знáеш ли ҆и҆ѡ́сифе | and do you know, o Joseph? | 
| 50: | коги́ си носи́ль сáсь тво́й те бл҃жени рꙋ́це си́лнаго ҆и крепкаго бг҃а нáшего | as you have carried our strong and mighty God with your blessed hands (...?) | 
| дето го̀ видѐ ҆исáйꙗ, пр͒рокь | whom saw Prophet Isaiah | |
| 51: | ҆и ꙋбоꙗ́ се | and he was scared | 
| 52: | ҆и дани́ль го видѐ стрáшни сꙋ́диꙗ | and Daniel saw him (as an) awesome judge | 
| 53: | ҆и растрепе́ра се | and he trembled | 
| 54: | ҆и дето е си́лень ҆и не ви́дими | and He, who is strong and invisible | 
| ҆á ти го̀ виде ҆иѡсифе | and you saw Him, o Joseph | |
| 55: | ҆и дето се ни ѿ кого не дрьжи ꙋ рꙋке | and He, who is not (able to be) held by anyone in hands | 
| ҆á ти го виде | and you saw Him | |
| 56: | поне́се го | you carried Him | 
| 57: | ҆и дето̀ сь́вь ст҃ь не мо́же го подьме́сти | and He, whom the whole world cannot sublate | 
| ҆á ти го ꙋ мáлакь гро́бь по́ложи | and you put Him to a small grave | |
| 58: | ѡ͒ голе́ма бл҃годáть ҆и чт͒ь що си се ти сподо́биль ҆и҆ѡ́сифе | o, great (is the) grace and honor, for which you became worthy, o Joseph! | 
| 59: | ҆и рекохà пр͒ро́ци те и ꙋченици́ те | and the prophets and apostles said: | 
| 60: | ҆ѡ бл҃жени ҆и бл҃годаровáни́ ҆и҆ѡ́сифе каквѝ пе́сни ти пее́ше коги того носеше да го погребе́шь | ʺo blessed and grateful Joseph, what songs did you sing, as you carried Him to bury Him?ʺ | 
| 61: | ни́е разꙋме́хме защо́ си вели́ки ҆и дивни песни пе҆ꙗ́ль | we have understood, why you sang wondrous songs | 
| ҆и дꙋми дꙋмáль дето̀ нашь ҆ези́кь ҆и ꙋста не мо́жать ҆искáза | and (why) you spoke words, which our tongue and mouths cannot repeat | |
| 62: | но тѝ ҆и҆о́сифе сáсь: никоди́ма потáенаго ꙋченика така: пее́хте като го̀ носехте | but you, o Joseph, sang with Nicodemus the secret follower thus, as you carried Him: | 
| 63: | .:. Єди́норо́дни сн҃е ҆и сло́ве бж҃їи безсме́ртень си | ʺo, you only Son of God, you are immortalʺ | 
| 64: | ҆изволи́ ви сп͒нїе нáшего ради .:..:..:..:..:..:. | He chose you for the sake of our salvation | 
| 65: | Мати бж҃иꙗ плаче́ше | Mother of God wept | 
| 66: | ҆и ридáеше | and she cried | 
| 67: | какви бе́ха нѡ҆ини дꙋми | what were her words? | 
| 68: | до́бре е да ре́че бдца хр͒тꙋ | thus it would be good for Mother of God to tell Christ: | 
| 69: | ҆ѡ чедо моѐ ҆и сн҃ꙋ мо́й ми́ли где ♣ ҆ѡстáвлꙗшь мт҃рь твою̀ сáмꙋ | ʺo my child and my beloved son, where do you leave your mother alone?ʺ | 
| 70: | си́не ♣ мо́й ѿ дне́ска се раздел͛ваме | ʺo my son, today we separate from each otherʺ | 
| 71: | че́до моѐ ҆á ѿ ҆ютре ко́й мене да ꙋтеши | ʺo my child, but who will consolate me tomorrow?ʺ | 
| 72: | че́до мое ти́ ми бе́ше надежда сн҃ꙋ мо́й | ʺo my child, you were my hope, o my sonʺ | 
| 73: | ҆á сега ѿ нигде по́мощь не мам | ʺbut now, I have no helpʺ | 
| 74: | б҃е мо́й ҆и кой ме́не да поми́лва | ʺo my God, who will have mercy on me?ʺ | 
| 75: | б҃е мо́й товà ли́ се надеꙗ́хь когито́ те породих | ʺo my God, did I expect this, as I gave birth to you?ʺ | 
| 76: | ҆и товá ли дочеках като̀ тебе ѿхрáних | ʺthis is what (I was supposed to) await, as I raised you?ʺ | 
| 77: | когѝ те́бе поро́дих никáква болесь на се́бе не́ видох | ʺas I gave you birth, I felt (ʺsawʺ) no pain on meʺ | 
| 78: | ҆á сегà лю́та болесть на се́бе ҆имамь сн҃ꙋ мо́й | ʺbut now I have a fierce pain on myself, o my sonʺ | 
| 79: | и на ме́сто радость за те́бе мло́го сльзи ҆излиꙗх че́до моѐ .:. | ʺand instead of joy, I poured many tears, o my childʺ | 
| 80: | Гдѐ е сегà гáвриль ҆áр҃хгель що мѝ рече | ʺwhere is archangel Gabriel now, who said to me:ʺ | 
| 81: | радꙋ҆и се мр҃ие че ще́шь сн҃а да породишь | ʺRejoice, o Mary, for you will give a birth to a son!ʺ | 
| 82: | ҆и да бѝ го виде́ла та бѝ мꙋ млого дꙋ́ми дꙋмала | ʺand if I would see him, I would tell him many wordsʺ | 
| 83: | защо́ ми ре́че че щемь да йма рáдось до века | ʺbecause he told me, that I will rejoice foreverʺ | 
| 84: | ҆и твоѐ цр͒тво коне́ць ҆и крáй не щѐ да йма | ʺand that 'your kingdom shall have no end'ʺ | 
| 85: | ҆á ꙗ те гле́дам че́до мое не́ като цр҃а нь като̀ ҆ѡсꙋ́дника | ʺand I look at you, o my child, not as on a king, but as on a convictʺ | 
| 86: | не като̀ гд͒а ҆и влдкꙋ но като̀ слꙋга ҆ѡсꙋдень ҆и ꙋби́ень | ʺnot as on the Lord and ruler, but as on a convicted and executed servantʺ | 
| 87: | та на кр͒те рáспеть виси́шь че́до моѐ | ʺand thus you hang spread on a cross, o my childʺ | 
| 88: | когѝ бе́хме го́ре на нб҃ то сн҃ꙋ мо́й ти мене земльно не дꙋ́маше | ʺas we were up in the heavens, you did not spoke to me in an earthly (way)ʺ | 
| 89: | затовá се не зби гаври́лꙋ дꙋма та | ʺthus the Gabriel's word did not fulfillʺ | 
| 90: | но ще на нб҃са цр͒тво твоѐ да бꙋ́де | ʺbut your Kingdom will be in the heavensʺ | 
| 91: | где́ е сегà петрь ꙋчени́кь щото̀ те́бе лю́беше | ʺwhere is Peter now, the apostle who loved you?ʺ | 
| 92: | ҆и дꙋмаше сáсь тебе за҆едно̀ да сѐ престáви | ʺand who said, that he would die with youʺ | 
| 93: | какво̀ не би тꙋка сега да сѐ найде малко ме́не да ꙋте́ши | ʺhow (is it possible) he was not here to be found, to give me some consolation?ʺ | 
| 94: | вче́ра се петрь чи́неше ѿ сви́ те ꙋченици нáй мл͒тивь ҆и нáй послꙋшли́вь | ʺyesterday, Peter boasted that he was the most merciful and most obedient among apostlesʺ | 
| 95: | ҆á днеска не милости́вь ҆и не послꙋшли́вь | ʺbut today, (he is) not merciful, nor obedientʺ | 
| 96: | ѡͯ ме́не еди́нꙋ | ʺo only me (...?)ʺ | 
| 97: | ҆и да би́хь ҆имала клáденець та бих го ҆изь ҆ѡчи те мо́й сáсь сль́зи напльни́ла | ʺand if I had a well, I would fill it with tears from my eyesʺ | 
| 98: | ҆ѡ чедо моѐ ҆ѡтвори́ си твой прест҃ли ҆ꙋста | ʺo my child, open your most holy mouthʺ | 
| 99: | ҆и ꙋтеши ме | ʺand give me consolationʺ | 
| 100: | ҆и ҆ѡтворѝ ҆очи тво́й | ʺand open your eyesʺ | 
| 101: | та ви́ждь мт҃ерь твою̀ ко́лко сльзи ҆изли́ꙗ ѡͯ за те́бе хр͒те мо́й | ʺand see your mother, how many tears she cried for you, oh my Christʺ | 
| 102: | ҆и пáкь ре́че мт҃и бдца: | and again the Mother of God said: | 
| 103: | ѡ͒ и҆ѡане кр͒ти́телю хр͒то́вь ҆е́ла да поплáчеме за гд͒а мое́го | ʺo John the Baptizer of Christ, come, let us cry for my Lordʺ | 
| 104: | защо сл҃це то ҆и мц͒о потрепе́ра | ʺbecause the sun and the moon trembledʺ | 
| 105: | ҆и земл҆ꙗ́ та се потре́се | ʺand the earth shookʺ | 
| 106: | пáкь: ре́че мт҃и бдца | again, Mother of God said: | 
| 107: | ѡͯ го́рье ҆и звезди ҆и сл҃це ҆и мц͒ь ꙋтеше́те ме | ʺo mountain (?), and stars, and sun and moon, give me consolationʺ | 
| 108: | да не би пáкь помрькло сл҃це ҆и мц͒ь | ʺmay the sun and moon will not darken againʺ | 
| 109: | ҆ѡ бл҃же́не си́ме҆ѡне бг҃опрїимче во ҆исти́нꙋ пр͒ро́чество твоѐ зби́ се | ʺo blessed Simeon the God-Receiver, truly your prophecy came trueʺ | 
| 110: | и дх҃ь ст҃и наꙋчи́л те бе́ше | ʺand the Holy Spirit had taught youʺ | 
| 111: | та ре́че | ʺas He said:ʺ | 
| 112: | ҆орꙋжи́е ҆остро̀ ѿ трѝ стрáни ще да прободе тело́ то хр͒тово | ʺa sharp weapon will pierce the body of Christ from three sidesʺ | 
| 113: | ҆и постигна мене та҆ꙗ́ гор͛ка скрь́бь | ʺand I was afflicted by that bitter sorrowʺ | 
| 114: | ҆и каква сега дꙋ́ма да ѡдаде́мь сн҃ꙋ ҆и бг҃ꙋ мое́мꙋ | ʺand what will I say to my son and my God?ʺ | 
| 115: | вре́ме до́йде | ʺthe time has comeʺ | 
| 116: | ҆и чáсь при́ближи́ се | ʺand the moment came closeʺ | 
| 117: | ҆и но́щь помрь́кна | ʺand the night became darkʺ | 
| 118: | ҆и да приле́гаше та бих сви́чка но́щь плакáла | ʺand if it was possible, I would cry all nightʺ | 
| 119: | ҆и не би́х те погре́бла сн҃ꙋ мо́й ҆и б҃е мо́й ми́ли | ʺand I would not bury you, o my son and my dear Godʺ | 
| 120: | ҆ѡ лꙋкáви ро́де ҆и ꙋме иꙋдейски | ʺo evil nation and mind of Judaeaʺ | 
| ҆и безь҆очли́ви ҆и завидли́ви ҆еврее | ʺand impudent and jealous Hebrewsʺ | |
| ҆о ро́де ѕлѝ ҆и безако́ни ҆евре҆иски | ʺo wrathful and lawless nation of Hebrewsʺ | |
| не видо́хте ли тво́рца свое́го като го распе́хте | ʺdid you not see your Creator, when you crucified Him?ʺ | |
| 121: | ҆á ви́ѐ мрь́сни не познáхте | ʺand you, tainted ones, did not know?ʺ | 
| 122: | зáвеса цр҃ковна раздрá се на дво́е | ʺthe temple curtain was torn in twoʺ | 
| 123: | ҆á вие се не́ сетихте | ʺand you did not understandʺ | 
| 124: | гро́бове се ҆ѡтвори́хꙋ | ʺthe graves were openedʺ | 
| 125: | ҆á срдце вáше лꙋкáво не разꙋ́ме бг҃а | ʺand your evil heart did not understand Godʺ | 
| 126: | ти́ꙗ дꙋ́ми ҆и ти́ꙗ ре́чи какво плака мт҃и бж҃иꙗ за хр͒тà сн҃а свое́го̀ | these words and these sayings (were) what cried Mother of God for Christ, her son | 
| 127: | защо́ се сам предáде на евре́е да го́ мꙋчать заради на͒ | because He gave Himself to Hebrews to torture Him for us | 
| да вер͛ваме зако́нь бж҃їи ҆и да почи́таме прáзници | so that we believe in Law of God and respect the feasts | |
