5: źélo ljúbeše xr͒ta he loved Jesus very much
6: ōtide u piláta he went to Pilate
7: ta sáka teló to: isu͒vo da gò sь´mne wt kr͒to and he asked (him) for the body of Jesus, to take it from the cross
8: ʾi poĭde razumno ♣ ʾi smeréno and he went wisely and calmly
9: ʾi reče and he said:
10: daĭ mi pilate togóva ʾwbídnago mrьt͛vьca ʺo Pilate, give me that poor dead manʺ

25: ʾdai mi togóva čuždín͛ca da go pokríemь ʾi da gò pogrebémь ʺgive me that foreigner, so that I will cover him and bury himʺ

39: Takvíva dumi smeréni i umiléni produmà iʾwsifь pilátu such wise and nice words told Joseph to Pilate
40: togíva stánu pilátь then Pilate stood up
41: ʾi dade ʾiʾwsifu teló to xr͒tóvo and he gave the body of Christ to Jesus
42: ʾiwsíf go sьmnu wt kr͒tь Joseph took it down from the cross
43: ʾi ʾwbví go sásь mirnéno plátno and he wrapped it in a scented cloth
44: w͒ bl͂žéni ruce tvóĭ ʾiosífe o, blessed are your hands, o Joseph!

45: ʾi bl̃žéni ʾoč̃i tvóĭ što su vidéli takváva snága and blessed are your eyes, for having seen such a flesh
46: ʾi bl͂ženь ʾesì ʾiʾwsife and you are blessed, o Joseph
ʾi trì bl̃žénь and thrice-blessed
47: zašto sì ti bílь naĭ vérenь slugà xr͒tóvь because you have been the most loyal servant of Christ
48: ta gò sváli wt kr͒tь and thus you put him down from the cross
49: ʾi znáeš li ʾiʾw´sife and do you know, o Joseph?
50: kogí si nosílь sásь tvóĭ te bl͂ženi rúce sílnago ʾi krepkago bg̃a nášego as you have carried our strong and mighty God with your blessed hands (...?)

52: ʾi danílь go vidè strášni súdija and Daniel saw him (as an) awesome judge
53: ʾi rastrepéra se and he trembled
54: ʾi deto e sílenь ʾi ne vídimi and He, who is strong and invisible
ʾá ti gò vide ʾiwsife and you saw Him, o Joseph
55: ʾi deto se ni wt kogo ne drьži u ruke and He, who is not (able to be) held by anyone in hands
ʾá ti go vide and you saw Him
56: ponése go you carried Him
57: ʾi detò sь´vь st̃ь ne móže go podьmésti and He, whom the whole world cannot sublate
ʾá ti go u málakь gróbь póloži and you put Him to a small grave
58: w͒ goléma bl͂godátь ʾi čt͒ь što si se ti spodóbilь ʾiʾw´sife o, great (is the) grace and honor, for which you became worthy, o Joseph!
59: ʾi rekoxà pr͒róci te i učenicí te and the prophets and apostles said:
60: ʾw bl̃ženi ʾi bl̃godarování ʾiʾw´sife kakvì pésni ti peéše kogi togo noseše da go pogrebéšь ʺo blessed and grateful Joseph, what songs did you sing, as you carried Him to bury Him?ʺ
61: níe razuméxme zaštó si velíki ʾi divni pesni peʾjálь we have understood, why you sang wondrous songs
ʾi dumi dumálь detò našь ʾezíkь ʾi usta ne móžatь ʾiskáza and (why) you spoke words, which our tongue and mouths cannot repeat
62: no tì ʾiʾósife sásь: nikodíma potáenago učenika taka: peéxte kato gò nosexte but you, o Joseph, sang with Nicodemus the secret follower thus, as you carried Him:
63: .:. Edínoródni sñe ʾi slóve bž̃ïi bezsmértenь si ʺo, you only Son of God, you are immortalʺ
64: ʾizvolí vi sp͒nïe nášego radi .:..:..:..:..:..:. He chose you for the sake of our salvation
65: Mati bž̃ija plačéše Mother of God wept
66: ʾi ridáeše and she cried
67: kakvi béxa nwʾini dumi what were her words?
68: dóbre e da réče bdca xr͒tu thus it would be good for Mother of God to tell Christ:
69: ʾw čedo moè ʾi sñu móĭ míli gde ♣ ʾwstávljašь mt̃rь tvojù sámu ʺo my child and my beloved son, where do you leave your mother alone?ʺ
70: síne ♣ móĭ wt dnéska se razdel͛vame ʺo my son, today we separate from each otherʺ
71: čédo moè ʾá wt ʾjutre kóĭ mene da uteši ʺo my child, but who will consolate me tomorrow?ʺ
72: čédo moe tí mi béše nadežda sñu móĭ ʺo my child, you were my hope, o my sonʺ
73: ʾá sega wt nigde pómoštь ne mam ʺbut now, I have no helpʺ
74: b̃e móĭ ʾi koĭ méne da pomílva ʺo my God, who will have mercy on me?ʺ
75: b̃e móĭ tovà lí se nadejáxь kogitó te porodix ʺo my God, did I expect this, as I gave birth to you?ʺ
76: ʾi tová li dočekax katò tebe wtxránix ʺthis is what (I was supposed to) await, as I raised you?ʺ
77: kogì tébe poródix nikákva bolesь na sébe né vidox ʺas I gave you birth, I felt (ʺsawʺ) no pain on meʺ
78: ʾá segà ljúta bolestь na sébe ʾimamь sñu móĭ ʺbut now I have a fierce pain on myself, o my sonʺ
79: i na mésto radostь za tébe mlógo slьzi ʾizlijax čédo moè .:. ʺand instead of joy, I poured many tears, o my childʺ
80: Gdè e segà gávrilь ʾár͂xgelь što mì reče ʺwhere is archangel Gabriel now, who said to me:ʺ
81: raduʾi se mr͂ie če štéšь sña da porodišь ʺRejoice, o Mary, for you will give a birth to a son!ʺ
82: ʾi da bì go vidéla ta bì mu mlogo dúmi dumala ʺand if I would see him, I would tell him many wordsʺ
83: zaštó mi réče če štemь da ĭma rádosь do veka ʺbecause he told me, that I will rejoice foreverʺ
84: ʾi tvoè cr͒tvo konécь ʾi kráĭ ne štè da ĭma ʺand that 'your kingdom shall have no end'ʺ
85: ʾá ja te glédam čédo moe né kato cr̃a nь katò ʾwsúdnika ʺand I look at you, o my child, not as on a king, but as on a convictʺ
86: ne katò gd͒a ʾi vldku no katò sluga ʾwsudenь ʾi ubíenь ʺnot as on the Lord and ruler, but as on a convicted and executed servantʺ
87: ta na kr͒te ráspetь visíšь čédo moè ʺand thus you hang spread on a cross, o my childʺ
88: kogì béxme góre na nb̃ to sñu móĭ ti mene zemlьno ne dúmaše ʺas we were up in the heavens, you did not spoke to me in an earthly (way)ʺ
89: zatová se ne zbi gavrílu duma ta ʺthus the Gabriel's word did not fulfillʺ
90: no šte na nb̃sa cr͒tvo tvoè da búde ʺbut your Kingdom will be in the heavensʺ
91: gdé e segà petrь učeníkь štotò tébe ljúbeše ʺwhere is Peter now, the apostle who loved you?ʺ
92: ʾi dumaše sásь tebe zaʾednò da sè prestávi ʺand who said, that he would die with youʺ
93: kakvò ne bi tuka sega da sè naĭde malko méne da utéši ʺhow (is it possible) he was not here to be found, to give me some consolation?ʺ
94: včéra se petrь číneše wt sví te učenici náĭ ml͒tivь ʾi náĭ poslušlívь ʺyesterday, Peter boasted that he was the most merciful and most obedient among apostlesʺ
95: ʾá dneska ne milostívь ʾi ne poslušlívь ʺbut today, (he is) not merciful, nor obedientʺ
96: wx méne edínu ʺo only me (...?)ʺ
97: ʾi da bíxь ʾimala kládenecь ta bix go ʾizь ʾwči te móĭ sásь slь´zi naplьníla ʺand if I had a well, I would fill it with tears from my eyesʺ
98: ʾw čedo moè ʾōtvorí si tvoĭ prest̃li ʾusta ʺo my child, open your most holy mouthʺ
99: ʾi uteši me ʺand give me consolationʺ
100: ʾi ʾōtvorì ʾoči tvóĭ ʺand open your eyesʺ
101: ta víždь mt̃erь tvojù kólko slьzi ʾizlíja wx za tébe xr͒te móĭ ʺand see your mother, how many tears she cried for you, oh my Christʺ
102: ʾi pákь réče mt̃i bdca: and again the Mother of God said:
103: w͒ iʾwane kr͒títelju xr͒tóvь ʾéla da popláčeme za gd͒a moégo ʺo John the Baptizer of Christ, come, let us cry for my Lordʺ
104: zašto sl͂ce to ʾi mc͒o potrepéra ʺbecause the sun and the moon trembledʺ
105: ʾi zemlʾjá ta se potrése ʺand the earth shookʺ
106: pákь: réče mt̃i bdca again, Mother of God said:
107: wx górьe ʾi zvezdi ʾi sl͂ce ʾi mc͒ь utešéte me ʺo mountain (?), and stars, and sun and moon, give me consolationʺ
108: da ne bi pákь pomrьklo sl̃ce ʾi mc͒ь ʺmay the sun and moon will not darken againʺ
109: ʾw bl͂žéne símeʾwne bg̃oprïimče vo ʾistínu pr͒róčestvo tvoè zbí se ʺo blessed Simeon the God-Receiver, truly your prophecy came trueʺ
110: i dx͂ь st̃i naučíl te béše ʺand the Holy Spirit had taught youʺ
111: ta réče ʺas He said:ʺ
112: ʾoružíe ʾostrò wt trì stráni šte da probode teló to xr͒tovo ʺa sharp weapon will pierce the body of Christ from three sidesʺ
113: ʾi postigna mene taʾjá gor͛ka skrь´bь ʺand I was afflicted by that bitter sorrowʺ
114: ʾi kakva sega dúma da wdadémь sñu ʾi bg̃u moému ʺand what will I say to my son and my God?ʺ
115: vréme dóĭde ʺthe time has comeʺ
116: ʾi čásь príbliží se ʺand the moment came closeʺ
117: ʾi nóštь pomrь´kna ʺand the night became darkʺ
118: ʾi da prilégaše ta bix svíčka nóštь plakála ʺand if it was possible, I would cry all nightʺ
119: ʾi ne bíx te pogrébla sñu móĭ ʾi b̃e móĭ míli ʺand I would not bury you, o my son and my dear Godʺ
120: ʾw lukávi róde ʾi ume iudeĭski ʺo evil nation and mind of Judaeaʺ
ʾi bezьʾočlívi ʾi zavidlívi ʾevree ʺand impudent and jealous Hebrewsʺ
ʾo róde źlì ʾi bezakóni ʾevreʾiski ʺo wrathful and lawless nation of Hebrewsʺ
ne vidóxte li tvórca svoégo kato go raspéxte ʺdid you not see your Creator, when you crucified Him?ʺ
121: ʾá víè mrь´sni ne poznáxte ʺand you, tainted ones, did not know?ʺ
122: závesa cr͂kovna razdrá se na dvóe ʺthe temple curtain was torn in twoʺ
123: ʾá vie se né setixte ʺand you did not understandʺ
124: gróbove se ʾōtvoríxu ʺthe graves were openedʺ
125: ʾá srdce váše lukávo ne razúme bg̃a ʺand your evil heart did not understand Godʺ
126: tíja dúmi ʾi tíja réči kakvo plaka mt̃i bž̃ija za xr͒tà sña svoégò these words and these sayings (were) what cried Mother of God for Christ, her son
127: zaštó se sam predáde na evrée da gó mučatь zaradi na͒ because He gave Himself to Hebrews to torture Him for us
da ver͛vame zakónь bž̃ïi ʾi da počítame práznici so that we believe in Law of God and respect the feasts
