4: ʾi pripádnu pri négo sa͒ plač And she fell to him crying
5: ʾi réče mu And told him
6: pomíluĭ me cr̃u da príĭdemь prí tébe da tì prodúmamь nékojà réčь ʺHave mercy with me, oh king, as I come to you to tell you a wordʺ
7: togiva réče cr̃ь Then the king said:
8: kaží mi ʾw žéno zaštò tolko plačeš ʺTell me, oh woman, why you cry so muchʺ
9: ʾi marta réče And Marta said:
10: gop͒odíne drьžávni ʾi čestíti na mnóga leta žívь da búdešь ʺo honorable lord of the land, may you live for many yearsʺ
11: duma ʾimámь da tì dúmamь ʾi va ʾistinu da ti kážemь čudna rabota ʺI have a word to tell you, truly a miraculous thingʺ
12: nó da tè nastávi bg̃ь na pravda ʾi na istinu ʺBut may God set you up to the truthʺ
13: ʾi réče ʾeĭ cr̃ь And the king told her:
14: ʾwt kóʾja si zemljà došlà ti túka ʺWhich country have you come here?ʺ
15: ʾi wt koĭ si ljúdie ʺand from which people?ʺ
16: ʾi márta réče and Martha said:
17: ʾazь ʾesmь wt zémlju madiʾamsku ʺI am from the land of Madiamʺ
18: no sь´mь došlà da tì dumamь za dobrò ʺBut I came to tell you for something goodʺ
19: cr̃ь réče The king said:
20: dumáĭ kólko štešь ʺSpeak as much as you wantʺ
21: togíva márta réče Then Martha said:
22: gop͒odíne ʾjávi se ʾedínь múžь jakь ʾi sílenь ná zemlju detò nikoĭ ne béše vidélь takь´vja čl̃vekь ʺLord, a mighty and strong man appeared in a land where nobody has ever seen such a personʺ
23: ʾi nikoĭ ne može ʾiskáza negóvi te dúmi ʺAnd nobody could utter his wordsʺ
24: mrь´tvi ʾwžívljaše ʺHe revived the deadʺ
25: slépi progledvaxu ʺThe blind sawʺ
26: bólni ʾiscélvaše ʺHe healed the illʺ

besnì ʾózdrávljaše ʺAnd healed the possessedʺ
28: ʾa pilát go predáde na evreʾe te ʺAnd Pilate handed him over to the Hebrewsʺ
29: ʾi raspéxa go ʺand they crucified himʺ
30: ʾi logínь sótnikь rébra ta mù probóde ʺAnd Longinus the centurion pierced his ribbsʺ
31: ta ʾistéče krьvь ʾi voda ʺand blood and water came outʺ
32: ʾi ču cr̃ь taʾjá duma and when the king heard this word
33: ʾi sladko ʾi krótko pítaše jù sweetly and gently he asked
34: ʾw ženo ʾistína lì dúmašь ʺO woman, do you tell the truth?ʺ
35: zaštó e bílь takь´vja čl̃vekь ʺwas it really such a man?ʺ
36: ʾi móže li drúgi človékь marturísa če e bilò taka ʺand can other people testify that it was like that?ʺ
37: márѳa réče Martha said:
38: gd͒íne brátь móĭ béše umrélь ʺLord, my brother was deadʺ
39: ʾi va gróbь béše polóženь ʺand he was burried in a tombʺ
40: ʾi ležà *d* dnì mrtь´vь ʺand he laid there for four days deadʺ
41: ʾa wn gò ʾoživì ʺand he revived himʺ
42: ʾi sьga xódi žívь: pó zemi ʺand now he walks lively in the landʺ
43: ʾi réče cr̃ь and the king said:
44: da púšti nékojà slugà va ĭèrusalímь da dovédutь nekogo wt tíja ljúdie što gí e ʾiscelilь ʾi ʾwživílь ʾónjà čl̃vekь deto gò márta faléše ʺMay a servant be sent to Jerusalem to find anybody of that people that this person healed and revived and whom Martha praisedʺ
45: ʾi va ʾistínu cr̃ь púšti slugà svóʿego kaѱófa dá dovedè nékogo and in truth, the king send his servant Kapsof (?) to bring somebody
46: ʾi dovedoxa togóva čl̃veka detò béše slépь ʾi progledálь ʾi marturísa kakvo e ʾistina bilò takváva čudesà And they brought that man which was blind and saw and he testified that these wonders were true
47: ʾi pisáxu ʾemérь and they wrote a decree
48: ʾi va emérь pisaxu mártu ʾi logína ʾi lázara And in decree, they wrote about Martha, Longinus, and Lazarus
49: pa togíva gi púšti cr̃ь ʾávgustь u rímь And then the king Augustus send them to Rome
50: ʾi kogi ʾōtidóxa u rimь ʾi vlézoxu u poláti cr̃evi and when they came to Rome they entered the royal palace
51: ʾi potrése se svà poláta cr̃eva and the palace of the king shook
52: ʾi reče cr̃ь and the king said:
53: toja bélegь što se číni u tója dénь ʾi čásь golémoe čudo ʺthis thing is a great wonder, what happened on this day and momentʺ
54: ʾi uplaší se cr̃ь and the king got scared
55: ʾi rekoxu bolʾjare and the boyars said
56: gd͒ine da ne búde legomà zaradì tìʾjà ljúdie deto doĭdoxa wt ʾierusalímь da dúmatь za xr͒ta raspétago ʺLord, (what if it) is because of the people that came from Jerusalem to talk about Christ, the crucifiedʺ
57: ta se číni tája čudesà and so these wonders appeared
58: togíva réče carь then the king said:
59: izleznéte svì nadvórь ʾizь poláti moĭ ʺAll of you, go out of my palaceʺ
60: ʾizlezóxa sь´vь naródь što béxu se sabráli u cr͂evi dvoróve All the people who had gathered in the yards of the king left
61: ʾi pakь réče cr̃ь And the king said again:
62: vlazéte ʾedínь po ʾedínь ʺCome in one by one ʺ
63: ta da vídimь zaradi kogó se trúsi dom móĭ so that I see because of whom my house has been shaking
64: ʾi svi vlézoxa and they all entered
65: ʾi kogi štéše da vléze log̃i ʾá to se potrusi polata ʾošte po strášno and when Longinus wanted to enter, the palace shook even stronger
66: ʾi svì ljúdie uplašixu se. and all the people got scared
67: ʾi wt stráxь ne možéxu da glédatь u logína and out of fear, they could not look at Longinus
68: ʾi réče cr̃ь logínu and the king said to Longinus:
69: čl̃veče ti kakьv sì ʺo man, what are you?ʺ
70: ta zaradì tébe štéme dá pogíneme ʺfor we are going to perish because of youʺ
71: ʾá logínь réče And Longinus said:
72: w͒ gd͒ine znáĭ če zaradi méne ne e tájà rabótà ʺO lord, know that this work is not because of meʺ
73: no e zaradi xr͒tà raspétago bg̃a moego što go ʾjá probódoxь na kr͒te va rébra ta ʺBut it is because of Christ, the saviour, my God, whom I pierced his ribs on the crossʺ
74: ta ĭstéče krь´vь ʾi vodà ʺand blood and water came outʺ
75: ʾi sl͂nce to pómrьknu ʺand the sun darkenedʺ
76: ʾi kamenïe ráspadá se ʺand stones fell apartʺ
77: ʾi cr̃kóvna zavésa razdrá se ʺand the temple curtain toreʺ
78: ʾi źvezdì te wt nebó to popadáxu ʺand the stars fell from the skyʺ
79: ʾi túka e toʾjá čl̃vek deto gò xr͒tósь w͒živì ʺand there is this man, who had been dead, whom Christ revivedʺ
80: mrьtvь` béše, lázarь ʺLazarus was deadʺ
81: pa ʾwžive ʺand then he became aliveʺ
82: ʾi wštè mlógo ljúdie ʾwživexa wt mrьtvixь ʺand even more people were revived from the deadʺ
83: togíva réče cr̃ь Then the king said:
84: vь ʾistinu verúvame ʺin truth, we believe (it)ʺ
85: no zaštò móĭ dómь zaradì tébe se trúsi ʺbut why did my home tremble because of youʺ
86: ʾi nïe sví se boĭme wt tóʾjá strášni trusь ʺand we all got afraid of this awful earthquakeʺ
87: ʾi réče logínь and Longinus said:
88: legomà zatová e zaštó e ríza ta négova na méne, ʺthat is, because his shirt is on meʺ
89: ʾi réče mu cr̃ь and the king told him:
90: ʾizlézь nádvorь ʺget out ʺ
91: ʾi soblečì taʾjá ríza wt sébe ʺand take off that shirtʺ
92: ʾi koga vléznu logínь posle u poláti cr̃vi togíva večè ne mà ní trus ní strax and when Longinus went out, there were no quakes nor fright in the palace of the king
93: ʾi u tovà vréme ʾimašè cr̃ь žíviníca na nósь zla And in that time, the king had scrofula on his nose
94: ʾi mlógo mu pákosь číneše and it hurt him a lot
95: ʾi ne možéxu xekimџíe da gò ʾiscélatь and the doctors could not heal him
96: ʾi réče cr̃ь and the king said:
97: da béše tója čl̃vekь segà túka ta bí me ʾiscélilь wt tájà bolestь ʺif this man was here now, he would have healed meʺ
98: ʾi márta réče and Martha said:
99: gd͒íne tʾoʾjá čl̃vékь ʾi na nebó to da e ʺLord, even when this man is in the heavenʺ
100: tì pomenì negóvo ʾime ʺYou, mention his nameʺ
101: ʾónь šte tébe pákь ʾiscéli ʺHe will heal you anywayʺ
102: ʾi réče cr̃ь and the king said:
103: márto kakvò da rečémь ʺo Martha, what should I say?ʺ
104: na kakvo ʾime da gò povíkamь ʺBy which name should I call him?ʺ
105: ʾi márta réče and Martha said:
106: cr̃u prékr͒ti taʾjà bólesь trì púti ʺo king, make the cross on your illness three timesʺ
107: ʾi reči ʺand say:ʺ
108: .:. vo ʾime .:. ʾóc͂a .:. ʾi sña .:. ʾi st̃ago .:. dx͂a ʺin the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spiritʺ
109: ʾi učini cr̃ь takóĭ kakvó mu réče márta and the king did as Martha told him
110: ʾi togíva ʾispáde ʾónája živiníca pred cr̃a na trьpéza and then that scrofula fell off the king and on the table
111: ʾi kogì vidè tovà cr̃ь and as the king saw it
ʾi razumè zaštò toʾjá čl͂vekь sь´vь st̃ь drьžì he understood that this man holds the whole world (in his power)
ʾi štotó e napravílь nb̃o ʾi zémlju (as he) created the heavens and the earth
112: ʾi zaradúva se: srdce to negóvo and his heart rejoiced
113: ʾi sasь tréperanïe pripáde pri lázara ʾi pri logína and trembling he fell towards Lazarus and Longinus
114: ʾi dumaše ʾimь cr̃ь and the king told them:
115: kr͒téte me. vo ʾime. xr͒tovo ʺBaptize me in the name of Christ!ʺ
116: ʾi wní go kr͒tíxa and they baptized him
117: ʾi sьbrá si svá ta voĭska negóva and he took his entire army
118: ʾi ʾōtidè na ʾerusalímь and went against Jerusalem
119: ʾi sьbra sví te evreĭski knížníci ʾi vldci ʾi drúgi voevódi ʾi boljáre and he gathered all the Hebrew law scholars, bishops, dukes, and boyars
120: ʾi povelè da gi posečútь and ordered to behead them
121: ʾi sekóxa gi dogdè pádnu mrákь wt nebó to na níxь and they beheaded them so that darkness fell on them out of Heaven
122: ʾi sekóxa ĭmь ženi te ʾi decá ta ĭmь and they beheaded their wives and children
123: ʾi kogì pádnu: tmà wt nebó to tь´mna kato magla ʾi nìšto se žívo ne vídi po tója st̃ь togíva réče cr̃ь da prestánutь wtsčénïe and when this darkness fell from Heaven like fog and nobody alive is seen on this world, the king said to stop the retaliation
124: ʾi prestánu séčь and the massacre ended
125: ʾi dígnu se tmá ta ʾi maglá ta wt ʾisečenï te ljúdie and the darkness and the fog raised from the beheaded people
126: ʾi prebroĭ gi cr̃ь and the king counted them
127: ʾi naĭde *vı* xíljadi ljúdie ʾiséčeni and he found 12000 beheaded people
128: ʾá deto béxa utekli žívi ʾá cr̃ь níxь ʾwprósti but those that had run away were alive and the king forgave them
129: ʾi razdelí gi na sváki grádь po dvóĭca and separated them by two per every city
130: a piláta fanáxu ʾi wkováxa go u sínџírь and they caught (Pontius) Pilate and put him in chains
131: ʾi togíva moléše se pilátь And then Pilate prayed
132: ʾi dumaše: and he said:
133: gd͒íne ne déĭ da posečéšь mene skóro ʺLord, do not quickly behead meʺ
134: no dáĭ mi mučénïe ljúto danò búdemь ʾi ja pričeténь va stádo ʾizbránoe ʺbut torture me fiercely as I am too added to the herd of the chosenʺ
135: togíva ʾávьgustь cr̃ь mučì pílata źlè Then Augustus fiercely tortured Pilate
136: ʾá pilátь glédaše: góre na nb̃sa and Pilate looked up to the sky
137: ʾi móleše se bg̃u and he prayed to God
138: ʾi dúmaše and he said:
139: pomíluĭ me bž̃e ʺo God, have mercy on meʺ
140: ʾi prïĭmí me va cr͒tvò tvoè ʺAnd receive me in your kingdomʺ
141: ʾi čú se glásь pilátovь na nb̃sa and Pilateʹs voice was heard in Heaven
142: ʾi dumaše gd͒ь and the Lord said:
143: raduĭ se vozljubléní móĭ ʺRejoice my belovedʺ
144: prédь prestólь: ʾoc͂a moégo šte da stóĭ tvoʾjá ta gláva píláte do ftóro prišéstvïe. ʺIn front of my Fatherʹs throne, your head will stand, Pilate, until the Second Comingʺ
145: ʾi wtséče mu glavá ta slugà cr̃eva and a servant of the king chopped off his head
146: ʾi uze ʾjá ʾág̃gelь gd͒nь and an angel of God took it
147: ʾi zanése ja ná nb̃sa and carried it to Heaven
148: ʾi togíva kaiafь pobegnu va pústinju and then Caiaphas fled into the desert
149: ʾi skrí se ʾjáko na skríto mésto and he hid himself in a hidden place
150: ʾi kogì bì *i* dénь po samrь´tь pilatóva ʾizléze cr̃ь ʾávgustь na llóvь And 20 days after Pilateʹs death, king Augustus left for a hunt
151: i ispúdi rogáče sasь xrьti te svóĭ and he chased deers with his greyhounds
152: ʾi tamo ʾimaše péštera and there was a cave
153: ʾi stanu rogáčь prédь peštéra tà deto se béše skrílь kaĭjafь and a deer was in front of the cave where Caiaphas had hidden himself
154: ʾi cr̃ь puštì strélu na rogáča and the king shot an arrow on the deer
155: ʾi strelá ta kato léti ta zamínu rugáča and the arrow, as it flew, it missed the deer
156: ta udári kaĭafa u srdce to and it hit Caiaphas in the heart
157: ʾi ʾōtidè momь´kь cr͂evь da zéme strela ta and a boy of the king went to get the arrow
158: ʾi naĭde káĭafa ustrélenь ležì ʾi sténja and he found Caiaphas being shot and moaning
159: ʾá cr̃ь utíde and the king went
160: ʾi vide and saw (him)
161: ʾi počúdi se kakvà bi taja rábota and he wondered what it might be
162: ʾjá strelnáxь na rogáča ʺI shot at a deerʺ
163: a ʾjá ustrelíxь kaĭafu ʺand I hit Caiaphas!ʺ
164: ʾi cr̃ь štéše néšto da popíta kaĭafu and the king wanted to ask Caiaphas something
165: dogdè cr̃ь da ōtíde pri négo ʾá ʾonь ʾizьdь´xna but before (the king) came to (Caiaphas), he died
166: ʾi réče cr̃ь and the king said:
167: slava tébe xr͒tè bž̃e nášь ʺGlory to you, o Christ, our Godʺ
168: zaštó e velíka ʾi strášna tvoʾjá ta rábota ʺbecause your work is great and frightfulʺ
169: ʾi kóĭto ne e vídelь táʾja čudésa ʾá ʾwnь po dobrè da veruva va edínago sína bž̃ia and who has not seen these wonders, he might better believe in the one divine son
