2: ʾImáše dve réki brьzi there were two rivers
3: ta béxa tía *v* reki u elin͛ska zemlja and those two rivers were in the land of pagans
4: Momčè nékoe ʾárxipa w grad neropólь poĭde da ʾide na nékoĭ monastírь da stáne kalugerь Archippus, a boy from the city of Neropolis, went to one monastery to become a monk
5: naĭde mésto he found a place
6: ʾi stánu sv͂šténïkь and he became a priest
7: ʾi čúváše ʾjáko dobrè ʾónjà manastírь and he cared for the monastery very well
8: ʾi na vasáki dénь číneše čudésa and he performed miracles on every day
9: ʾi ʾimaše vóda pri ʾonja mánastírь and there was water next to the monastery
10: ʾá elín͛ci sedutь tamo but pagans sat there
11: ta glédatь kakvó se číni čudesa na vasáki dñь and they watched, how miracles are performed every day
12: ʾi zavídexa and they were envious
13: ʾi nagovoríxa se, da razválatь, manastíro and they decided to destroy the monastery
14: če támo ʾimaše blízu ʾednà vóda zoveše se xrísa as there was a water nearby, called Chrysa
15: tá ja ʾwbrьnuxa ʾelínci te u manastíra da go razválatь so they turned it towards the monastery to destroy it
16: ʾá bg̃ь ml͒tívi povelè but the merciful God commanded
17: ta se ʾóbrьnu vodá ta na drúga strána and the water turned to another side
18: ta ostánaxa elínci te posrámeni and thus the pagans were left ashamed
19: ʾi pak se nagovoríxu drugo zlo da učínatь po golemo and again they decided to do another evil deed, even worse one
20: ʾimaše tamo drúgi *v* réki: there were other 2 rivers
21: ta tečéxu wt ʾistóčna strána and they flew from the east
22: edná se zovéše kufa réka one was called Kufa (?)
23: a druga koka reka and the other Koka
24: tiʾjá *v* réki natьkmíxa da gi ʾwbrьnat na monastira da gò porázatь they filled these two rivers to turn them on the monastery to raze it
25: ʾi prokleti ʾelínci wt daléko fanáxa da kópatь .:. and the accursed pagans began to dig from afar
26: ʾiskopaxu váda dlьbóka ʾi širw´ka they digged a deep and wide channel
27: ʾi bregóve golémi napravíxu and they made big shores
28: ʾi puštixu ʾónaʾjá voda and they let the water to flow
29: ʾi poče da tečè po váda ta and the water flowed in the channel
30: ʾi ʾjáko mlógo voda doĭde and a lot of water came
31: príbliží se pri st̃ago mónastíra it came near the monastery
32: ʾi ʾar͛xìpa káto vídè če doĭde tʾájá vodà zlà ʾi golema ʾá ʾónь se ʾjáko zle ʾóupláši and Archippus, seeing the evil, big (wave of) water coming, became very afraid
33: pa togiva pripádnu ar͛xipь prì ìkonu st̃omu, ar͛xan͛gelu mixaĭlu and then Archippus fell down to the icon of St. Archangel Michael
34: ʾi gor͛go prìplaka and he cried bitterly
35: ʾi reče and he said:
36: pomozí mi st̃i ʾár͛xange mïxaĭle ʾi mene gréšnomu ʺHelp me, the sinful one, o St. Archangel Michaelʺ
da sè ne zagúbi tvoe ʾimè ʾi tvoʾjá ta cr͒kva ʺso that your name and your church will not perishʺ
37: ʾi tóʾja ča͒ ʾjáví se ʾárьxan͛gelь ʾár͛xípu and then the Archangel Michael appeared to Archippus
38: ʾi drьži u ruku svoʾjù mьčь and he held a sword in his hand
39: ʾi reče and he said:
40: ne boĭ se ʾár͛xípe ʺhave no fear, o Archippusʺ
41: tьkmo vervaĭ ʺjust have faithʺ
42: pa izléze ʾár͛xan͛gelь togíva ʾizь monastíro then the archangel went out of the monastery
43: ta pádnu góre na nebó to crьkóvno and he fell upwards to the heaven (dome?) of the church
44: ʾi víde ʾár͛xangelь ʾi sámь če približi vodá ta and the archangel himself saw that the water was closing in
da vlézne u mónastíro da gò razváli (threatening) to enter the monastery and to destroy it
45: togíva ʾár͛xan͛gelь dígnu mь´čь strášno ʾi naprásno then the archangel raised his sword terribly and suddenly
46: ta ʾúdari kámikь štó béše monastíro zazidánь na négo and he struck the stone, on which the monastery was built
47: ta go próváli edínь ča͒ and he broke it in one moment
48: ta zbra ʾi dvé te réki ʾw´naʾjá própasь and that abyss (made by the strike) collected the both rivers
49: ʾi mínuxa ʾóníʾjá *v* réki dóle dьlbóko podь monastíra and both those two rivers passed deep down beneath the monastery
50: ʾi ne povrédi se níčto na mónastíro. and nothing was damaged in the monastery
51: nelo promínu dlьboko dóle pod zemìĭ because (the water) passed deep down beneath the earth
52: togíva vidoxu ʾónía ʾelin͛ci kakvo se mlogo čudesà nàprávi wt st̃ago ʾár͛xistratíga míxaĭla then those pagans saw, what many miracles were done by the Archistratēgos Michael
53: ʾi onì sví što béxu u ʾónja grad sví poveruváxu vo ĭme xr͒tovo ʾi st̃ago ʾár͛xan͛gela and all who were in that city started to believe in the name of Christ and the saint archangel
54: ʾi pokr͒tixu se sví što béxu támo and all of them there baptized themselves
ʾi máli ʾi velíki ʾi ženì ʾi deca both small and great, women and children alike
55: ʾi verúvaju čt͒ni kr͒tь ʾi do dnésъ and they believe (in) the True Cross (?) until today
56: takóĭ se sp͒i ʾi ʾar͛xípa sasь bóžiemь povelénïemь thus was Archippus saved with the divine will
57: .:. tomu že .:. ar͛xán͛gelu mixaĭlu: sláva may glory be to this archangel Michael
