| 7: | ʾi naíde | and he found |
| 8: | ʾi xaréѯa | and he liked (it) |
| 9: | ta fánu da grádi manastíra | and he began to build a monastery |
| 10: | če vidè če e čúdno skríto mesto ʾi imeníto | and he saw that it is a miraculous, hidden, and glorified place |
| 11: | ʾi sazída manastíra | and he founded a monastery |
| 12: | ʾi naréče ʾime na monastíra duxijárь | And he gave the monastery the name Docheiarios |

| 14: | ʾi nemu turíxa ime neʾw´fitь | And they gave him the name Neophyte |
| 15: | ʾi po tova stanu ʾiguménъ | and afterwards he became abbot |
| 16: | dovrьšì ʾónʾjá st̃i monastírь | he finished this holy monastery |
| 17: | svè- toko ʾóstanu, da se podpíše sásь ʾwbrázi | only thing remained to decorate it with pictures |
| 18: | ʾi ne sosá mu ʾimenïe | and his wealth was not enough |
| 19: | togíva stánu gríženь ʾónja ʾigumenь neʾwfitъ:. | Then this abbot Neophyte became worried |
| 20: | ʾi móleše se bg̃u | And he prayed to God for a long time |
| davnó bi ml͒tivi, bg̃ь wt négde pomógnulь | so that God might help somehow | |

| 23: | Sproti st̃i gori ʾánьѳon͛skíe daléko do *ѯ* pogléde ʾimaše edínь ʾóstróvь | facing the Holy mountain Athos, 60 shots away, there was an island |
| 24: | ʾi u toʾjá ʾóstrov ʾimaše edínь metóvь manastírski | And on this island, there was a monastery ground (fief) |
| 25: | ta se zovéše lógь | And it was called Logos |
| 26: | ta go ʾwbitíčaše vodá ta móre to | and the water of the sea surrounded it |
| 27: | ʾi tamu pri ʾónja metovь ʾimaše ʾedínь stlьpь wt kamik naprávenь wt prь´vi te vrémena | And there, close to this monastery ground, there was one stone pillar made in the first times |
| 28: | ʾi na vrьxь, stlь´pu béše pisáno takváva duma | And on the top of the pillar, such a word was written: |
| 29: | koĭ me udári u vrь´xь, ʾu gláva ta ♣ ʾónь šte da náĭde mlógo srébro ʾi zlato | ʺHe, who will hit me at the top, at the head, will find a lot of silver and goldʺ |
| 30: | ʾi mlogo ljúdie frьgáxu káta dñь kámene | And many people threw stones every day |
| 31: | ta bíexu vísokь stlьpь u glávu | and they were striking the high pillar at the top |
| 32: | i umerváxa go | and they measured it |
| 33: | ništo u stlь´pь ne naĭdoxa | They did not find anything on the pillar |
| 34: | no za taja réčь béše druga míslь, | but that word had another meaning |
| 35: | na vrь´xь stlь´pu sénkja ta gdè ʾóupíra kogì ʾistéče slñce | where the shade of the top of the pillar falls at the dawn |

| 52: | ʾi kato vide tóva ʾónja momkь rastrepéra se | And when he saw it, the boy trembled |
| 53: | ʾi pokrì pákь tovà mésto | And he covered this place a bit |
| 54: | ʾi ʾōtíde nʾa monastírь, | And he went to the monastery |
| 55: | ʾi kaza, ʾigumenu néʾwfítu | and he told abbot Neophyte |
| 56: | ʾi réče | and said: |
| 57: | vldko st̃i ʾiménie mlógo naĭdoxь na metóva nášь pri visókia stlь´pь | ʺo holy lord, I found a lot of wealth on our fief next to the high pillarʺ |
| 58: | no daĭ mi kólko štéšь brátia da ʾizvadíme ʾimenïe to, da go doneséme ʾu monastírь | but give me as much as you want, brother, to take out the property to take it to the monastery |

| 68: | ʾa ʾwnógova mómkà fanáxu ʾóníja kalugere | And these monks caught that boy |
| 69: | ta mù privezáxu kamíkь na šiʾjá ta | And they bound a stone at his neck |

| 73: | ʾi zatvórili vráta | And they closed the door |
| 74: | ta pa si ōtišli u kelíju kogì | And then they went to the cell |
| ʾónja móm͛kь pádnu ʾu dnò u moré to | when this boy fell on the bottom of the sea | |
| 75: | pa mu donése gd͒ь na pámetь | and the Lord brought (an idea) to his mind |
| 76: | ta réče | and he said: |
| 77: | st̃i ʾárx͂ángele budi mi pomoštnik | ʺo holy archangel, be my helperʺ |
| 78: | togíva naprásno stanu ʾár͂xangelь míxaĭlь ʾi gavrïilь | |
| 79: | ʾjávíxa se pred͛ mom͛ká togo katò dvà ʾórla zlátokríl͛ni | They appeared to this boy as two gold-winged eagles |
| 80: | ʾedínь čásь go ʾizvadíxa ʾiz dnò ʾiz more t | Once they took him out from the bottom of the sea |
| 81: | ʾi zanésoxa go u monastíra | And carried him to the monastery |
| 82: | ʾi wstavíxa go u srédь monastíra | And left him in the middle of the monastery |
| 83: | ʾá wniʾjá troĭca kalugére tovà čudo ne znaʾjáxu | and these three monks did not know about this wonder |
| 84: | nelo si razdelíxu ʾónóva ʾimenïe na *g* delóve | but divided that property in three parts |
| 85: | ʾi skríxa go dalékь wt monastíra | And hid it far away from the monastery |
| 86: | ʾi támo nošteváxu na skelé to monastírsko | And there they spent the night on the monastery scaffolding |
| 87: | ʾá onʾjá mom͛kь kato go ʾwstavíli ʾan͛g͂ele te nʾa srédь monastíra | and this boy as the angels left him in the middle of the monastery |
| 88: | ʾá wnь siromax wt golem stráxь zaspálь na srédь monastíra | And the poor, he fell asleep in the middle of the monastery due to the big fear |
| 89: | ʾi na zaránь stánu ráno kan͛dilárь da zapali kan͛dila u st̃i monastírь | And when the lamplighter got up to enlighten the candles in the holy monastery |
| 90: | ʾá wnь víde če svetì nešto na srédь monastir | And he saw that something was shining in the middle of the monastery |
| 91: | ʾi kato vidè ʾupláši se | And when he saw (it), he got scared |
| 92: | ʾi réče čé e nekoʾjá sabláznь | And he said that it was some evil apparition |
| 93: | ʾi vrьnu se nazátь pak poĭde vtori putь | And he came back a second time |
| 94: | ʾi pakь vide tov pa se vrьnu nazátь | And he saw it again, so he came back |
| 95: | ʾi ne smeʾjá da ulézne da zapáli kan͛díla ta | And he did not dare to enter to enlighten the candles |
| 96: | nelo wttidè | but went away |
| 97: | ta kazà na ĭgumena | And he tells the abbot |
| 98: | ʾi reče kandilárь | And the lamplighter said: |
| 99: | vldko prívelь nekóĭ ednà sablazna besóv͛ska na srédь monastir | ʺo lord, somebody has brought a devilish apparition into the middle of the monasteryʺ |
| 100: | ʾi st̃i katò źvezdà | ʺand it shines like a starʺ |
| 101: | ʾi ne smejax da vléznémь | ʺand I did not dare to enterʺ |
| 102: | ʾi reče mu ʾigumenь | And the abbot told him: |
| 103: | štó se boĭšь o͒ čédo | ʺWhat are you afraid of, o child?ʺ |
| 104: | storì kr͒tь, na sébe | ʺcross yourselfʺ |
| 105: | ʾi vlezni, bezь stráxь | ʺand enter without fearʺ |
| 106: | ʾi pa réče kan͛dilárь | And then the lamplighter said: |
| 107: | ne smeju ʾóč̃e da vléznemь | ʺI do not dare to enter, o fatherʺ |
| 108: | kato ču ʾigumenь .:. tréti putь ʾá onь poĭde | As the abbot heard (it) the third time, he went |
| 109: | ʾi kandílaro po négo | And the lamplighter (went) with him |
| 110: | ta vleznaxu u manastírw | and they entered the monastery |
| 111: | togíva vidè ʾi samь ʾigumenь če ĭstína ležì ʾónja mom͛kь na sred monastira | Then even the abbot saw that the boy was really lying in the middle of the monastery |
| ʾi kamíkь mu privézanь, na šía ta | and (that) a stone was tied to his neck | |
| 112: | ʾi počudí se ʾigumenь | And the abbot wondered |
| 113: | pa go udári po lek sásь patéricu | And he gently hit him with a crutch |
| 114: | ʾi razbudí go | and he woke him up |
| 115: | togíva produmà ʾónja momkь | Then this boy began to speak |
| 116: | ʾi reče | and he said: |
| 117: | kažéte mi brátija | ʺTell me, brothersʺ |
| 118: | gdé smь sega ʾázь | ʺwhere am I now?ʺ |
| 119: | čini mi se če smь` na dno u moré to deto me metnáxu trí te kalugere | ʺIt seems to me that I am at the bottom of the sea where the three monks threw meʺ |
| 120: | ʾi rečé mu ʾigúmenь | And the abbot told him: |
| 121: | ne znaéš li ʾw čédo kadé si | ʺo child, don't you know where you are?ʺ |
| 122: | tuká si u manastírь duxar͛ski detó smь ʾjá ʾigumenь neofítь | ʺYou are here at the Douxarion monastery where I, Neophyte, am the abbotʺ |
| 123: | ʾámi ti što štéšь túka | ʺBut what do you want here?ʺ |
| 124: | kaží mi čédo što si patílь | ʺTell me, child, what did you suffer?ʺ |
| 125: | togiva reče ʾónjà mómkь | Then this child said: |
| 126: | ʾwstavéte me mál͛ko da se posvéstimь | ʺLeave me for a moment, so that I come to my senses a bitʺ |
| 127: | ta pa štemь svíčko to čudo káza što smь` patílь po redu wt ʾónia trì kalúgere | ʺAnd I will tell you about the wonder that I have suffered in the course from these three monksʺ |
| 128: | togíva mu reče ʾigumenь | Then the abbot told him: |
| 129: | ti sédi túka dogdé se sьmne | ʺSit down here until the dawnʺ |
| 130: | ʾá niʾjá da savrь´šime utrénja wt nádvorь monastíra | ʺAnd we should finish the matins outside the monasteryʺ |
| dogdè doidat wt skéle to ʾonía troĭca kalúgere | ʺuntil these three monks come out of the scaffoldsʺ | |
| da vídatь ʾi sámi tóva preslávnoe čudo | ʺto see the glorious wonder themselvesʺ | |
| 131: | ʾi na jútre puštì ʾigumenь na skelé to za ʾónia kalúgere | In the morning, the abbot sent (someone) for these monks to the scaffold |
| 132: | ta doĭdoxa ʾi troĭca ta | and the three came |
| 133: | ʾi reče ĭmь ʾigumenь | And the abbot told them: |
| 134: | štó storíxte ʾóc͂i za wnóva ʾimenie | ʺwhat did you do, o fathers, with that wealth?ʺ |
| 135: | ʾi oni rékoxa ʾigumenu | And they said to the abbot: |
| 136: | lьžá e bílo vldko za tóva | ʺIt was a lie, o lordʺ |
| 137: | tьkmo ní se prismeja momьko | ʺThe boy just laughed at usʺ |
| 138: | a nïe go, priѱuváxme ʾi priplášíxme | ʺAnd so we cursed and scared him a bitʺ |
| 139: | ʾá ónь pobégna wt násь | ʺAnd he ran away from usʺ |
| 140: | ʾi réče ʾimь ʾiguménь | and the abbot said to them: |

| 146: | ʾi kato videxa momka togo ʾónia *g* kalugére ʾi wt stráxь bíxa ʾjákw bezglásni | And when they saw that boy, these three monks were voiceless out of fear |
| 147: | togíva ĭmь réče ʾigumenь | then the abbot said to them: |
| 148: | źle vámь | ʺwoe to youʺ |
| 149: | ʾi górko prélьsti vì dʾiavolь da wtpadnete, wt slávu bž͂iju | ʺthe Devil has seduced you bitterly to fall off the divine gloryʺ |
| 150: | ʾi uplašíxa se źlè ʾónija kalugerè | And these monks got scared |
| 151: | ʾi donesoxa svíčko to ʾiménie u manastírь | And they brought all the wealth to the monastery |
| 152: | togíva gi ʾigumenь propudi ʾiz monastírь | And then the abbot expelled them from the monastery |
| 153: | ʾi pobegnuxa u ne znáni strani | And they ran away to unknown countries |
| 154: | ʾá wnja mom͛kь stanu kalugerь na ʾónova mésto | And that boy became a monk in this place |
| 155: | ʾi mlógo slávu vozьʾisila bg̃u | and he gave much glory to God |
| ʾi oc͂u ʾi sñu ʾi st̃omu dx̃u | to Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit | |
| nʾinjà ʾi prísno ʾi vo véki vekóvь | now and ever, and forever | |
