37: nalí si tí postávilь cr̃u nekóe povelénïe da ne sáka nikoĭ ništo zá *m* dní ni wt bg̃a ni wt čṽeka, ʺO king, did you not issue an order, that no one should ask anyone for 40 days, neither a god, nor a human?ʺ

49: ʾi cr̃ь večè ne ma štó da učíni and the king could not do anything else
50: ʾámi povelè da go dovédutь thus he commanded that he (Daniel) be brought
51: ʾi dovedoxa, dʾaníla, and they brought Daniel
52: ʾi turixa go u ònʾjá trap pri rasláne te and they threw him to that pit to the lions

55: ʾi zapečatíxu, sásь pečátь cr͒kì and they sealed it with the royal seal

57: ta dobrè zapečatíxu da ne doĭde nekóĭ da ʾizvadi danila so they sealed it off well, so that nobody comes and removes Daniel
58: ʾi cr̃ь wt mlogo gríža ne večéra and the king did not dine because of worries
59: ʾi zaspá cr̃ь gríženь zá daníla and the king went to sleep worrying about Daniel
60: kogí bi prézь ʾónaʾjá nóštь gd͒ь pušti ʾár͛xan͛gela mʾixáila during the night, the Lord sent Archangel Michael

87: tóva ʾjádene ʾi pikè turíli večer ta na trьpeza they put that meal and drink in the evening on the table
88: ʾá na jutre ne možéxa da náĭdatь níšto and in the morning they could not find anything
89: toko naĭdoxa tróxi ʾi kókale they just found crumbs and bones
90: ʾá ʾwnía prelьšteni čl̃veci pomíslíxu če ístína ʾéde bg̃ь vílь tova ʾjástíe and those misguided people thought, that god Bel really eats the meal
91: togíva poʾidé cr̃ь kíro then king Cyrus came

98: ʾá mer͛tvomu, b̃u ne štémь dá se poklónimь ʺso I do not want to bow to a dead godʺ
99: koi e bg̃ь sozdálь, nébo ʾi zemlju ʾi móre ʾi sve što e žívo na tója st̃ь ʺthe God, (who) created the heavens and the earth, and sea and all what lives in this worldʺ

100: ʾi rečé cr̃ь danílu then the king said to Daniel:
101: nalí ti se vídi daníle da estь živ vílь bg̃ь ʺdo you (not?) see that god Bel is alive?ʺ
102: ta ne vídiš li koliko ná dénь éde ì píe ʺand do you not see, how much does he eat and drink each day?ʺ
103: ʾá danilь se zasmejà but Daniel laughed
104: í réče and he said:
105: ne prelьštáĭ se cr̃u ʺdo not fool yourself, o kingʺ
106: tója vášь vílь bg̃ь vanútre estь wt zemljù ʺthat god Bel of yours is (made) of clay insideʺ

109: togíva se źle rasrь´di cr̃ь kíro then the king Cyrus became very angry
110: ta réče na slugí te si and he said to his servants:
111: skoro prizovéte mí, ʾidol͛ski popóve ʺsummon me the priests of the idol soon!ʺ
112: ʾi reče ʾimь cr̃ь and the king said to them:
113: právo dá mi kážete ʺtell me trulyʺ
114: koì ʾedè tíʾjá gózbi ʺwho eats that food?ʺ
115: ʾáko gì ʾedè vílь, bg̃ь da ubiemo daníla ʺif god Bel eats them, let us slay Danielʺ
dá ne xulì na velíkago bg̃a nášego víla ʺso that he does not blaspheme against our great god Belʺ
116: kóga prʾiidoxa popové te prí cr̃a ʾi ʾi rekoše mu when the priests came to the king, they said to him:
117: čestíti- cr̃u míe da ne sme támo ʺo honorable king, may we be not thereʺ

127: ʾi vrьzь neʾjá goléma plw´ča and on it (there was) a big slab
128: ta prìxodexa popóve te nóštemь thus the priests were coming during the night
ʾi ženi té imь ʾi deca tá ĭmь and their women and children too
129: ta edéxa ʾónaʾjá gozba and thus they ate that food
130: ʾi piéxa ʾónóva víno and they drank that wine
131: kogì da si poĭdatь na zaránь ʾizь wnóva kapíšte when they wanted to go from the temple in the morning
ʾá wnì pokríatь ʾónaʾjá dupka sa͒ plw´ča ta they (would) cover the hole with the slab

141: ʾá danil͛ mu réče and Daniel said to him:

144: ʾi nasípa go sa͒ pépelь ta and he filled it with ash
145: posea u kápišté to taka and thus he strew it in the temple
146: kato seeše pépelò ʾá ʾwnь xodéše na nazátь da ne právi díra and as he strew the ash, he went backwards, so that he would not leave any trace
147: ʾizleze cr̃ь ʾi pr͒rokь danílь po négo the king went out and the prophet Daniel after him
148: ʾi cr̃ь turí pečátь na vráta tà and the king put his seal on the gate
149: ʾá onía popóve ne znaʾjáxu što nápravi dánílь but those priests did not know about what did Daniel
150: nelò ʾotidoxu prez noš ta sas ženi sas déca as they went (there) in the night with their women (and) children
151: ta izedoxa sve što béše prinéseno vilu bg̃u and thus they ate everything brought to the god Bel
152: ʾi pakь si ráno ʾotidóxa da gì nikoĭ ne víde and they went away again in the morning, so that no one sees them
153: ʾi za útra ráno stánu cr̃ь and the king woke up early in the morning
154: ʾi povéde daníla prí bg̃a víla da vídi što sè sotvori nóšteska and he led Daniel to god Bel, to see what happened in the night
155: kogi víde cr̃ь če su zdrávi pečáte te ʾá ʾónь réče danílu when the king saw the seals are whole, he told (about it) Daniel
156: ʾi danílь káže and Daniel said:

185: tá pa prïide pri wnógova zvéra detò go nàríčaxu čé e bg̃ь and then he went to that beast, which was thought to be a god
186: ʾi rečé danílь nʾa ʾwnovoga zvéra and Daniel said to the beast:
187: na tí bž̃e xlébь ʺhere, o you god, your bread!ʺ
188: ʾá ʾw´niʾjá zvérь kogà víde daníla and the beast, seeing Daniel
ʾá ʾwnь zínu kolíko móže it yawned (roared?) as much as it could
189: ʾi onь mu métnu ʾóníja xlébov ʾóu ustá ta and he (Daniel) threw the loaves into its mouth
190: ʾi mínu nekóĭ čásь and some time passed
191: ʾi ízьdь´xnu ʾwnʾjá zvérь and the beast died
192: togíva se zásmejà danílь then Daniel laughed
193: ʾi réče and he said:
194: ʾjá víšte vášego bg̃a ʺhey, have a look on your godʺ

217: ta sedè danílь u ʾjáma ta pri lь´vove tè *ź* dñi ì *ź* nóšti and Daniel sat in the pit with lions for 6 days and 6 nights
218: ì lьvove te ʾókwle négo and lions (were) around him
219: ʾi danílь gládenь and Daniel (was) hungry
220: ʾi lьvóve te gládni and lions (were) hungry (too)
221: zaštò stóeše u ʾjáma ta ʾáñgel gd͒nь pri daníla because an angel of God stood with Daniel in the pit
222: tá go čúvaše and thus he protected him
223: ʾi và ʾónóva vréme ʾimáše ʾedínь čl̃vekь and in that time there was one man

225: ta béše varilь léšta da nósi na žьtváre xlébь ʾi várivo he had cooked lentils, to bring reapers bread and porridge

233: ʾávakúmь káže ʾáng̃gelu Habakkuk said to the angel:
234: gd͒ine móĭ ʾázь nì vavilónь grad znáemь ʺmy lord, a neither know (about) the city of Babylonʺ
235: ni cr̃vi lьvóve u ʾjámu znáemь ʺnor I know (about) king's lions in a pitʺ
236: togíva go strášno ufáti ʾáng̃elь za vrь´xь zá glavnì kósi then the angel terribly seized him by the top of his hair
237: ʾi zanése go ʾu mignovenïe ʾókò pri daníla u ʾjáma tà prí lьvové te and he brought him in a blink of an eye to Daniel, into the pit, next to the lions
238: xóčatь nekoĭ čl̃veci da rékutь če e do vavilónь grad *kd* dnì xóda some people would say that it is 24 days of walk to the city of Babylon
239: i drúgi xočátь da rečátь ne móže tóĭ bíti dalékoe and others would say (that) it cannot be far away
240: ʾá što rékoxu- drúgi čl̃véci but what (ever) other people say
241: va ʾistinu da veruvate may you believe in truth!
242: zaštó su po brь´zi ʾáng̃eli bž̃i wt pómislь čl̃večeskì for the angels of God are faster than the thought of man
243: ʾi zanése ʾánьg̃elь ʾávakuma prì ʾjáma tà and the angel carried Habakkuk to the pit
244: ʾi reče ʾávakum and Habakkuk said:
245: stáni daníle ʺstand up, Daniel!ʺ
246: ta uzmì xlébь ʾi várivo ʺand take the bread and porridgeʺ
247: ta ʾjášь ʺand eatʺ
248: ʾi nasití se ʺand satiate yourselfʺ
249: če tì dóprati preml͒tvì gd͒ь ʺfor the most merciful God sent it to youʺ
250: ì uze danílь and Daniel took (the food)
251: ʾi ʾjáde and he ate
252: ʾi reče and he said:
253: bl̃godárím te ʺI thank youʺ
254: na tébe se nádéjutь vási rábi tvóĭ ʺall your servants put their hope on youʺ
255: násiti sè danílь Daniel satiated himself
256: ʾi ʾwstanu mlógo ʾwšte xlébь ʾi varívo ʾávakúmu and still a lot of bread and porridge remained to Habakkuk
257: ʾi pá go zanése ʾáng̃elь edínь čas prì žetváre te and then the angel brought him in an instant to the reapers
258: ʾi varívo to ʾw´šte béše žéško and the porridge was still hot
259: ne béše ʾistínulo it had not became cold
260: po brьzí su ʾáng̃eli bž̃i wt ʾóko čl̃včko ʾi wt pomislь čl̃večéska the angels of God are faster than human eye and human mind
261: pa togíva:- prïide cr̃ь kíro prí ʾjámá ta da vidi što se naprávi and then king Cyrus came to the pit, to see what happened
262: danilь prí lьvove te Daniel (was) next to the lions
263: ʾá danílь sedì žívь ʾi zdravь but Daniel sits alive and healthy
264: ʾi lьvove te ležátь ʾókole nego gládni and the lions lay around him hungry
265: počúdi se cr̃ь the king wondered
266: ʾi reče and he said:
267: velíkomu bg̃u poklanʾjáet se danílь ʺDaniel bows to a great godʺ
268: ʾi ne ʾima pó velíki bg̃ь wt nego ʺand there is no greater god than himʺ
269: togíva povele cr̃ь na wníja zavístnicì then king gave an order to those jealous men
270: ta ʾizvadixa daníla ʾizь ʾjáma ta ♣ and they took our Daniel out of the pit
271: Í tu skazáxme do zde [afterword] and so much we tell
