8:	wt troʾica ta ʾedin͛ pr͒rókь danïilь	among these three (there was) a prophet, Daniel
9:	ʾi ʾwnь béše sa͒ umь nai razumenь wt sví te	and he was the most wise with his mind of all

23:	ʾi rékoxa mu	and they told him:
24:	dárie cr̃u žívь bùdi va véki	ʺO Darius the king, may you live for ages!ʺ
25:	da učínime ʾedínь zgóvorь	ʺlet us make an agreement!ʺ
26:	svi ljúdiè koʾito ʾedutь tvoĭ xlébь pri tvóè, cr͒tvo što su voivódi ʾi načélnici	ʺto all the people, who eat the bread of your kingdom, who are generals and commandersʺ
	da ʾóučínišь povelénïe po tvóe cr͒tvo dá ne posáka níkoĭ nïšto nekomu za *m* dn͛i	ʺmay you create a decree (for them) over all of your empire, that no one will ask for anything for 40 daysʺ

27:	ʾáko lí se nekoĭ naʾide da ne poslúša tvóe povelénïe da se túri ʾu trápo pri rasláne te da gò izédutь	ʺif anyone will be found disobeying your order, may he be thrown into a pit with lions, to eat him (alive)ʺ
28:	ʾi poslušá gi dária, cr̃ь	and king Darius obeyed them
29:	ʾi napisa takváva povelénia	and he issued such a decree
30:	á pr͒rókь danílь ʾimaše zakónь trì púti dnéska da se poklánjà bg̃u	but prophet Daniel had a custom to kneel before God thrice a day
31:	ʾi kato sʾi ʾimaše zakónь páde na koléna u ʾonʾjá dénь	and, having the custom, he fell to his knees on that day
32:	ʾi pokloní se bg̃u víšnemù	and he bowed down to the Highest God
33:	ʾi ʾonìa zavísníci prigledáxu	and those envious ones watched
34:	ʾi videxa danïĭla če se móli, bg̃u,	and they saw Daniel praying to God
35:	togiva ʾónià gp͒odáre ʾótídoxa prì cara	then these lords went to the king
36:	ʾi rekoxá mu	and they told him:
37:	nalí si tí postávilь cr̃u nekóe povelénïe da ne sáka nikoĭ ništo zá *m* dní ni wt bg̃a ni wt čṽeka,	ʺO king, did you not issue an order, that no one should ask anyone for 40 days, neither a god, nor a human?ʺ
38:	priidì sega samь si	ʺcome now by yourselfʺ
39:	ta víšь daníla kakvó se móli bg̃u ʾi poklánjá mu se	ʺand see Daniel, as he is praying and kneeling to Godʺ
40:	ʾónь sáka néšto wt bg̃a	ʺhe wants something from the God!ʺ
41:	togíva cr̃ь káto ču za dánila takava duma ʾjáko se ʾwgrižì	then, as he heard such a word about Daniel, the king was much worried

47:	ʾi rekoxa cr̃u	and they said to the king:
48:	né e prilíčno tébe cr̃u dá si razváliš povelénie to, što sì, povelélь	it is not appropriate to you, o king, to break the decree, which you have issued (by yourself)
49:	ʾi cr̃ь večè ne ma štó da učíni	and the king could not do anything else
50:	ʾámi povelè da go dovédutь	thus he commanded that he (Daniel) be brought
51:	ʾi dovedoxa, dʾaníla,	and they brought Daniel
52:	ʾi turixa go u ònʾjá trap pri rasláne te	and they threw him to that pit to the lions
53:	ʾi donésoxa kámikь gwlémь	and they brought a big stone
54:	ta zatvórixu uské to nʾa w´nʾjá trápь	and thus they closed the entrance of the pit
55:	ʾi zapečatíxu, sásь pečátь cr͒kì	and they sealed it with the royal seal
56:	ʾi wnia voivodi sví te turixu svoĭ prь´sti	and all those dukes put their fingers (on it)
57:	ta dobrè zapečatíxu da ne doĭde nekóĭ da ʾizvadi danila	so they sealed it off well, so that nobody comes and removes Daniel
58:	ʾi cr̃ь wt mlogo gríža ne večéra	and the king did not dine because of worries
59:	ʾi zaspá cr̃ь gríženь zá daníla	and the king went to sleep worrying about Daniel
60:	kogí bi prézь ʾónaʾjá nóštь gd͒ь pušti ʾár͛xan͛gela mʾixáila	during the night, the Lord sent Archangel Michael
61:	ta zátvori usta ta na rasláne te	and thus He closed the mouths of the lions
62:	ʾi prenošteva dánilь ʾu ʾonaĭ trápь ne počéknatь wt onía źveróve	and Daniel spent the night in the pit untouched by those beasts

64:	ta ʾōtidoxa na ʾwnʾjá trápь gdeto béše frьlenь danílь pri rasláne te	and thus they went to that pit, where Daniel was thrown to the lions
65:	ʾi povika cr̃ь wt dalekь	and the king called from afar:
66:	živ͛ li si daníle druže móĭ	ʺo Daniel, my friend, are you alive?ʺ
67:	ʾi danilь ču ʾiznetre	and Daniel heard from the inside
68:	ta réče	and he said:
69:	da si žívь cr̃u do veka-	ʺo king, may you live for ages!ʺ
70:	gd͒ь puštì ʾán͛g̃ela svoégo	ʺthe Lord sent His angelʺ
71:	ʾi zagradì ustá ta lь´vomь	ʺand thus He closed the mouths of the lionsʺ
72:	ʾi žívь smь do sь´ga	ʺand I am so far aliveʺ
73:	ʾi zaraduvá se cr̃ь	and the king rejoiced
74:	togíva ʾizvadíxa dánʾila wt ʾónja trápь .:.	then they removed Daniel from the pit

85:	ta mu davaše cr̃ь kíro káta dénь po *vı* kila žíto ʾi po *m* ʾovn͛i ʾi po *ź* méri víno	and king Cyrus gave him every day 12 bushels of grain, 40 rams and 6 gallons of wine
86:	tovà mu se gotóveše za večeru na trьpezù	that was put on a table as for his dinner
87:	tóva ʾjádene ʾi pikè turíli večer ta na trьpeza	they put that meal and drink in the evening on the table
88:	ʾá na jutre ne možéxa da náĭdatь níšto	and in the morning they could not find anything
89:	toko naĭdoxa tróxi ʾi kókale	they just found crumbs and bones
90:	ʾá ʾwnía prelьšteni čl̃veci pomíslíxu če ístína ʾéde bg̃ь vílь tova ʾjástíe	and those misguided people thought, that god Bel really eats the meal
91:	togíva poʾidé cr̃ь kíro	then king Cyrus came
92:	ta se poklóni vílu bg̃u	and he bowed to the god Bel
93:	ʾá danílь né šteʾjá dá mu se poklóni	but Daniel did not want to bow to him
94:	pá mu réče cr̃ь	so the king told him:
95:	daníle zášto ne štéšь dá se poklónišь vílu b̃u	ʺo Daniel, why do you not want to bow to god Bel?ʺ
96:	réče danílь	Daniel said:
97:	ʾázь cr̃u poklánʾjám͛ se žívomu bg̃u	ʺo king, I bow to the Living Godʺ
98:	ʾá mer͛tvomu, b̃u ne štémь dá se poklónimь	ʺso I do not want to bow to a dead godʺ
99:	koi e bg̃ь sozdálь, nébo ʾi zemlju ʾi móre ʾi sve što e žívo na tója st̃ь	ʺthe God, (who) created the heavens and the earth, and sea and all what lives in this worldʺ
	tomúva bg̃ь poklanʾjáju se ʾázь cr̃u	ʺI bow to this God, o kingʺ
100:	ʾi rečé cr̃ь danílu	then the king said to Daniel:
101:	nalí ti se vídi daníle da estь živ vílь bg̃ь	ʺdo you (not?) see that god Bel is alive?ʺ
102:	ta ne vídiš li koliko ná dénь éde ì píe	ʺand do you not see, how much does he eat and drink each day?ʺ
103:	ʾá danilь se zasmejà	but Daniel laughed
104:	í réče	and he said:
105:	ne prelьštáĭ se cr̃u	ʺdo not fool yourself, o kingʺ
106:	tója vášь vílь bg̃ь vanútre estь wt zemljù	ʺthat god Bel of yours is (made) of clay insideʺ
107:	ʾá wt nadvórь e͒tь wt bakь´rь ʾi wt žlьta métь	ʺand from the outside he is (made) of copper and yellow bronzeʺ
108:	kakvo móže bezdúšnь čl̃vekь da ede tólkova gózba	ʺhow can a soulless man eat so much food?ʺ
109:	togíva se źle rasrь´di cr̃ь kíro	then the king Cyrus became very angry
110:	ta réče na slugí te si	and he said to his servants:
111:	skoro prizovéte mí, ʾidol͛ski popóve	ʺsummon me the priests of the idol soon!ʺ
112:	ʾi reče ʾimь cr̃ь	and the king said to them:
113:	právo dá mi kážete	ʺtell me trulyʺ
114:	koì ʾedè tíʾjá gózbi	ʺwho eats that food?ʺ
115:	ʾáko gì ʾedè vílь, bg̃ь da ubiemo daníla	ʺif god Bel eats them, let us slay Danielʺ
	dá ne xulì na velíkago bg̃a nášego víla	ʺso that he does not blaspheme against our great god Belʺ
116:	kóga prʾiidoxa popové te prí cr̃a ʾi ʾi rekoše mu	when the priests came to the king, they said to him:
117:	čestíti- cr̃u míe da ne sme támo	ʺo honorable king, may we be not thereʺ
118:	ʾámì sasь- tvói te slúgi zanesì tóva ʾjástíe	ʺbut let your servants bring that foodʺ

128:	ta prìxodexa popóve te nóštemь	thus the priests were coming during the night

129:	ta edéxa ʾónaʾjá gozba	and thus they ate that food
130:	ʾi piéxa ʾónóva víno	and they drank that wine
131:	kogì da si poĭdatь na zaránь ʾizь wnóva kapíšte	when they wanted to go from the temple in the morning
	ʾá wnì pokríatь ʾónaʾjá dupka sa͒ plw´ča ta	they (would) cover the hole with the slab

141:	ʾá danil͛ mu réče	and Daniel said to him:

144:	ʾi nasípa go sa͒ pépelь ta	and he filled it with ash
145:	posea u kápišté to taka	and thus he strew it in the temple
146:	kato seeše pépelò ʾá ʾwnь xodéše na nazátь da ne právi díra	and as he strew the ash, he went backwards, so that he would not leave any trace
147:	ʾizleze cr̃ь ʾi pr͒rokь danílь po négo	the king went out and the prophet Daniel after him
148:	ʾi cr̃ь turí pečátь na vráta tà	and the king put his seal on the gate
149:	ʾá onía popóve ne znaʾjáxu što nápravi dánílь	but those priests did not know about what did Daniel
150:	nelò ʾotidoxu prez noš ta sas ženi sas déca	as they went (there) in the night with their women (and) children
151:	ta izedoxa sve što béše prinéseno vilu bg̃u	and thus they ate everything brought to the god Bel
152:	ʾi pakь si ráno ʾotidóxa da gì nikoĭ ne víde	and they went away again in the morning, so that no one sees them
153:	ʾi za útra ráno stánu cr̃ь	and the king woke up early in the morning
154:	ʾi povéde daníla prí bg̃a víla da vídi što sè sotvori nóšteska	and he led Daniel to god Bel, to see what happened in the night
155:	kogi víde cr̃ь če su zdrávi pečáte te ʾá ʾónь réče danílu	when the king saw the seals are whole, he told (about it) Daniel
156:	ʾi danílь káže	and Daniel said:

166:	pogledáĭ cr̃u po zemju	ʺlook on the ground, o kingʺ

169:	tià stupni su mužeski ʾi žen͛ski ʾi detín͛ski	ʺthese steps are of men, women and childrenʺ
170:	togiv se ʾjáko rásrьdì cr̃ь nʾa popóve tè ʾevréĭski	then the king became very angry against Hebrew (heathen?) priests
171:	ʾi turí gi na mučénïe	and he put them to torture
	dá gi múči da kážutь právo	torturing them to tell him the truth
	dalì ʾóni ʾedutь tìʾjá ʾjástìja ʾi pítïja	whether they consume that food and drinks
172:	ʾá oni právw kazáxu	and they told the truth
173:	vʾá ʾistínu cr̃u kogá ni pitaš právo dá tì kážeme	ʺtruly, o king, if you ask us, may we tell you the truthʺ
174:	nía ʾedéme tia ʾjástía ʾi pítíja	ʺwe consume that food and drinksʺ
175:	togìva povelè cr̃ь	then the king commanded
176:	ta gì ʾisьsekóša	and thus they were slain
	sví te popove ʾevreĭskì ʾi žení te ʾimь ʾi decá ta ĭmь	all the Hebrew (heathen?) priests and their women and children
177:	ʾá ʾidolá togo predáde cr̃ь .:. pr͒róku danílu na ruku	and the king gave the idol to the hands of prophet Daniel
178:	togíva réče danílь	then Daniel said:
179:	daĭ mì volju cr̃u tvoégo bg̃a bez n͛íkakvo ʾóružíe dʾa gw` úbíemь	ʺo king, give me permission to slay your god without any weaponʺ
180:	ʾi réče cr̃ь danílu	and the king said to Daniel:
181:	kakvó ti e vólja daníle taká go sokrúši	ʺas it is your will, o Daniel, thus destroy himʺ
182:	togíva dánílь uzé smolà ʾi lòĭ ʾi kozína	then Daniel took tar and fat and fur
183:	ta gí ʾizmešà	and he mixed them together
184:	ʾi ʾwmesi smolá ta ʾi loʾi ta ʾi kozína ta káto xlébove	and he knead the tar, fat and fur as (into?) loaves
185:	tá pa prïide pri wnógova zvéra detò go nàríčaxu čé e bg̃ь	and then he went to that beast, which was thought to be a god
186:	ʾi rečé danílь nʾa ʾwnovoga zvéra	and Daniel said to the beast:
187:	na tí bž̃e xlébь	ʺhere, o you god, your bread!ʺ
188:	ʾá ʾw´niʾjá zvérь kogà víde daníla	and the beast, seeing Daniel
	ʾá ʾwnь zínu kolíko móže	it yawned (roared?) as much as it could
189:	ʾi onь mu métnu ʾóníja xlébov ʾóu ustá ta	and he (Daniel) threw the loaves into its mouth
190:	ʾi mínu nekóĭ čásь	and some time passed
191:	ʾi ízьdь´xnu ʾwnʾjá zvérь	and the beast died
192:	togíva se zásmejà danílь	then Daniel laughed
193:	ʾi réče	and he said:
194:	ʾjá víšte vášego bg̃a	ʺhey, have a look on your godʺ
195:	nešto mu e zlè	ʺhe is ill somehowʺ
196:	ta spáva	ʺso he stumblesʺ
197:	togíva ʾón͛íja prélьšténi ljúdie kakvó vídoxa ʾónógova bésa če e ʾumrélь	then those misguided people (ʺasʺ) saw that devil, that it died

200:	ʾi rekóxa mu	and they said to him
201:	ʾi víknáxu velíkimь glásomь	and cried with a great voice:
202:	tì cr̃u ne sì naš brátь ʾi drugarь	ʺyou, o king, are not our brother and friendʺ
203:	póčto rádi ubʾilь- ʾesi bg̃a nášego, víla	ʺwhy did you kill our god Bel?ʺ
204:	ʾi isь kórenь sì go rasipálь	ʺand you have uprooted himʺ

217:	ta sedè danílь u ʾjáma ta pri lь´vove tè *ź* dñi ì *ź* nóšti	and Daniel sat in the pit with lions for 6 days and 6 nights

219:	ʾi danílь gládenь	and Daniel (was) hungry
220:	ʾi lьvóve te gládni	and lions (were) hungry (too)
221:	zaštò stóeše u ʾjáma ta ʾáñgel gd͒nь pri daníla	because an angel of God stood with Daniel in the pit
222:	tá go čúvaše	and thus he protected him
223:	ʾi và ʾónóva vréme ʾimáše ʾedínь čl̃vekь	and in that time there was one man
224:	ìme mu béše ʾávakúmь	his name was Habakkuk
225:	ta béše varilь léšta da nósi na žьtváre xlébь ʾi várivo	he had cooked lentils, to bring reapers bread and porridge
226:	pa ʾizleze ʾó domá si	thus he went out of his home
227:	ta ĭde po putь	and then he went on the road
228:	ta si ʾótvódi na nívu	then he turned to the fields
229:	pa gò srešnu ed̃inь ʾáng̃elь gd͒nь	then an angel of God met him
230:	pa mù réče	and then he said to him:
231:	ʾávákúme skóro zanési toja xlébь ʾi tóva varívo pr͒rókku .:. danílu .:. u vavílónь grad	ʺo Habakkuk, quickly bring this bread and porridge to prophet Daniel in the city of Babylonʺ
	déto e zatvórenь prí lьvové te cr̃vi u ʾjáma tà	ʺwho is imprisoned with king's lions in a pitʺ
232:	če e ʾjáko ʾógladnélь danílь	ʺbecause Daniel became very hungryʺ
233:	ʾávakúmь káže ʾáng̃gelu	Habakkuk said to the angel:
234:	gd͒ine móĭ ʾázь nì vavilónь grad znáemь	ʺmy lord, a neither know (about) the city of Babylonʺ
235:	ni cr̃vi lьvóve u ʾjámu znáemь	ʺnor I know (about) king's lions in a pitʺ
236:	togíva go strášno ufáti ʾáng̃elь za vrь´xь zá glavnì kósi	then the angel terribly seized him by the top of his hair
237:	ʾi zanése go ʾu mignovenïe ʾókò pri daníla u ʾjáma tà prí lьvové te	and he brought him in a blink of an eye to Daniel, into the pit, next to the lions
238:	xóčatь nekoĭ čl̃veci da rékutь če e do vavilónь grad *kd* dnì xóda	some people would say that it is 24 days of walk to the city of Babylon
239:	i drúgi xočátь da rečátь ne móže tóĭ bíti dalékoe	and others would say (that) it cannot be far away
240:	ʾá što rékoxu- drúgi čl̃véci	but what (ever) other people say
241:	va ʾistinu da veruvate	may you believe in truth!
242:	zaštó su po brь´zi ʾáng̃eli bž̃i wt pómislь čl̃večeskì	for the angels of God are faster than the thought of man
243:	ʾi zanése ʾánьg̃elь ʾávakuma prì ʾjáma tà	and the angel carried Habakkuk to the pit
244:	ʾi reče ʾávakum	and Habakkuk said:
245:	stáni daníle	ʺstand up, Daniel!ʺ
246:	ta uzmì xlébь ʾi várivo	ʺand take the bread and porridgeʺ
247:	ta ʾjášь	ʺand eatʺ
248:	ʾi nasití se	ʺand satiate yourselfʺ
249:	če tì dóprati preml͒tvì gd͒ь	ʺfor the most merciful God sent it to youʺ
250:	ì uze danílь	and Daniel took (the food)
251:	ʾi ʾjáde	and he ate
252:	ʾi reče	and he said:
253:	bl̃godárím te	ʺI thank youʺ
254:	na tébe se nádéjutь vási rábi tvóĭ	ʺall your servants put their hope on youʺ
255:	násiti sè danílь	Daniel satiated himself
256:	ʾi ʾwstanu mlógo ʾwšte xlébь ʾi varívo ʾávakúmu	and still a lot of bread and porridge remained to Habakkuk
257:	ʾi pá go zanése ʾáng̃elь edínь čas prì žetváre te	and then the angel brought him in an instant to the reapers
258:	ʾi varívo to ʾw´šte béše žéško	and the porridge was still hot
259:	ne béše ʾistínulo	it had not became cold
260:	po brьzí su ʾáng̃eli bž̃i wt ʾóko čl̃včko ʾi wt pomislь čl̃večéska	the angels of God are faster than human eye and human mind
261:	pa togíva:- prïide cr̃ь kíro prí ʾjámá ta da vidi što se naprávi	and then king Cyrus came to the pit, to see what happened
262:	danilь prí lьvove te	Daniel (was) next to the lions
263:	ʾá danílь sedì žívь ʾi zdravь	but Daniel sits alive and healthy
264:	ʾi lьvove te ležátь ʾókole nego gládni	and the lions lay around him hungry
265:	počúdi se cr̃ь	the king wondered
266:	ʾi reče	and he said:
267:	velíkomu bg̃u poklanʾjáet se danílь	ʺDaniel bows to a great godʺ
268:	ʾi ne ʾima pó velíki bg̃ь wt nego	ʺand there is no greater god than himʺ
269:	togíva povele cr̃ь na wníja zavístnicì	then king gave an order to those jealous men
270:	ta ʾizvadixa daníla ʾizь ʾjáma ta ♣	and they took our Daniel out of the pit
271:	Í tu skazáxme do zde	[afterword] and so much we tell
272:	i wšte mal͛ko íma da skážeme xr͒tane	and we have to tell you a little bit more
273:	dobró bi bilò da znáete ʾi víe če sé e rodílь pr͒rókь danílь prédь xr͒tà bg̃a *ѵѯ* gódinь	it would be good for you to know, that prophet Daniel was born 460 years before Christ the God
274:	ʾi požíve *r* gódinь	and he lived for 100 years
275:	pa togíva umrè va tréto léto u cr͒tvo kírovo .:..	and then he died in the third year of Cyrus' reign
276:	tómu že sláva i čt͒ь i poklonénie ʾóc̃u ʾi sñu ʾi st̃omu dx̃u	glory, honor and respect to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
	nʾínja ʾi prísno ʾi vo věki, vekóvь,	now and ever and forever
