5: аврáмь гостолю́бни дето го чꙋе́ме на писание ҆имаше ҆о́нь стопáницꙋ The hospitable Abraham, who we hear about in this writing, had a wife
6: ҆име й беше сáра her name was Sarah
7: ҆и бе́ше безпло́дна сиречь безь де́тка and she was barren, that is childless
8: не рáждаше де́ца she was not giving birth to any children
9: ҆и ҆áврáмꙋ некак досвиде and Abraham was bothered (?) by it
10: защо бе́хꙋ мáлко позастаре́ли because they had gotten a little old
11: та па не́ маю ни́какво че́до ѿ срдце and they did not have any child from the heart ?
12: па їмаше ҆еднꙋ роби́ню but he had a slave
13: ҆име й беше ҆áгáра her name was Hagar
14: та до́би ҆áврамь сáсь ҆о́нꙋю ро́биню мꙋшко дете so Abraham obtained a male child with that slave
15: ҆и нарече́ мꙋ ҆име ҆измайль and he gave him the name Ishmael
16: ҆и ѿ тоги́ва по́че ҆áврáмь да лю́би ро́биню тꙋ and since then Abraham began to love the slave
17: ҆á сарꙋ него́вꙋ стопáницꙋ като мал͛ко ненави́ди and begrudge Sarah, his wife, a little
18: защо не́ ма де́ца because she has no children
19: ҆á сара ви́де като люби ҆áврамь ро́биню тꙋ but Sarah saw that Abraham loved the slave
20: ҆о́на зави́де she became envious
21: ҆и рече ҆áврáмꙋ and she told Abraham
22: ҆и нáдви мꙋ са͒ дꙋма та and she defeated (convinced) him with the word
23: рáспꙋди ҆áврам ҆áгáрꙋ са͒ ҆о́но́ва детѐ Abraham chased Hagar away together with that child
24: ѝ ҆о́на по҆иде да бега and she went on to flee
25: сре́те ю ҆áр͛хàн͛гель михàйль Archangel Michael met her
26: ҆и рече й and he said to her
27: ҆áгáро сáрина ро́бѝн҆ѡ́ ѿ кáде ҆иде́шь ʺHagar, maid of Sarah, where do you come from?ʺ
28: каде ҆ѡтво́дишь ʺWhere are you going?ʺ
29: ҆и ре́че ҆áгара And Hagar said:
30: бе́гамь ѿ мою̀ господар͛кꙋ ʺI flee from my mistressʺ
31: ҆о́ти ми мло́го досáжда ʺbecause she bothers me a lotʺ
32: та ҆ѡтво́димь каде ми ҆о́чи́ те ви́дать ʺso I'm going wherever my feet take meʺ (lit. ʺwherever my eyes lookʺ)
33: ҆и ре́че и ҆áр͛хан͛гель михáиль And Archangel Michael said to her
34: врьни́ се назать при господáркꙋ тво́ю̀ ʺReturn back to your mistressʺ
35: ҆и ꙋмири́ се сась ню̀ ʺand reconcile with herʺ
36: ҆и тоги́ва се врь́нꙋ ҆áгáра And then Hagar returned
37: ҆и при́фанꙋ ю пак ҆áврамь and Abraham caught hold of her again
38: ҆и ми́нꙋ не́колко̀ вре́ме and some time went by
39: дáде г͒ь Lord allowed
40: та ро́ди сáра си́на їисáка so Sarah gave birth to a son Isaac
41: ҆и ва еди́нь дн҃ь ҆изле́зохà ҆и две́ те де́ца да ҆игрáють надво́рь н҆а полꙗ́нꙋ and on some day both children went out to play outside on the glade
42: ҆измайль кáто бе́ше по голе́мь та би́еше ҆исáка since Ishmael was bigger (older), he beat Isaac
43: ҆и видѐ то́ва сáра and Sarah saw this
44: й ҆ꙗ́ко се рáсрь́ди and got very angry
45: ҆и ре́че пáкь ҆áврáмꙋ мꙋ́жꙋ сво́емꙋ, and said again to Abraham, her husband
46: рáспꙋдѝ тáꙗ роби́нꙗ ʺChase this slave awayʺ
47: защо ни́е две́ме са͒ ню не мо́жеме да пребꙋ́деме нáедно̀ ʺbecause the two of us with her cannot live on togetherʺ
48: ҆и не мà що́ да ꙋчи́ни ҆аврáмь And Abraham had nothing left to do
49: нело̀ нáлꙗ во́дꙋ ꙋ ме́хове but he poured water into waterskins
50: ҆и ꙋзе хле́бь and took bread
51: та дáде ҆áгáри so he gave it to Hagar
52: ҆и рече й and said to her
53: ꙋзмѝ водꙋ ҆и хлебь ʺTake the water and the breadʺ
54: та па ꙋзмѝ дете́ то ʺand so take the childʺ
55: тá па бегай каде́ ти ҆о́чи те ви́дать ʺand so run wherever your feet take youʺ (lit. ʺwherever your eyes lookʺ)
56: ҆и ꙋзе то́ва ҆áгáра сáсь голе́мь плáчь and she took this with great lamentation
57: ҆и побегнà ва пꙋсти́ю and ran off into the desert
58: ҆и тамо седѐ мло́го вре́ме and she sat there for a long time
59: ҆и доврьши ю́ се хлебь ҆и во́да and the bread and the water were spent
60: ҆и зле́ си провáждаше дни́ те and she spent her days miserably
61: ҆и дете́ то й- ще́ше да ꙋ́мре зá водꙋ and her child was about to die of thirst (lit. die for water)
62: ї агáра го ҆ѡстáви́ по́дь ҆еднꙋ ҆елꙋ̀ and Hagar left him under a fir
63: ҆и закри́ го сáсь шꙋма and she covered him with leaves
да не гле́да ꙋ него какво́ ще да ꙋмре- глáдно ҆и же́дно so that she could not look at him how he dies hungry and thirsty
64: ҆онова детѐ плáче that child cries
65: ҆и сáка водꙋ and wants water
66: ҆и ҆áр͛хан҃гель михайль пáкь се ҆ꙗ́ви ҆áгáри and Archangel Michael appeared again to Hagar
67: ҆и рече й and said to her
68: не бой се ҆агáро ʺFear not, Hagarʺ
69: стáни ʺAriseʺ
70: ꙋзмѝ сѝ дете́ то ʺTake your childʺ
71: ҆ете во́да ʺHere, waterʺ
72: та пи тѝ ʺso you drinkʺ
73: ѝ напой си́ дете́ то ʺand give your child waterʺ (lit. ʺwater your childʺ)
74: ҆и тоги́ва ҆ѡтво́ри бг҃ь клáденець And then God opened a well
75: та сѝ нáпльни ҆áгара мехове́ те са͒ во́дꙋ so Hagar filled her waterskins with water
76: ҆и това чꙋ́до про҆ꙗ́ви ар͛хан͛гель ми́хайль † This miracle too did Archangel Michael
77: послꙋ́шайте хр͒тиáне и дрꙋ́го чꙋд за ҆áврáма госто́любнаго Hear, o Christians, another miracle about the hospitable Abraham
78: какво́ го гд͒ь ҆испитꙋваше дáли лю́би бг҃а.:. how God tested him if he loved God
79: рече гд͒ь ҆áврáмꙋ God said to Abraham:
80: ҆аврáме фанѝ сн҃а тво́его зá рꙋкꙋ їсáка ʺAbraham, take your son Isaac by the handʺ
81: ҆и заведи́ гѡ- на ҆она҆ꙗ́ гора дето́ ти азь гд͒ь покáзах ʺand take him to this mountain which I, God, showed youʺ
да го зако́лешь за лю́бовь мо́ю ʺand slay him for my loveʺ
82: коги́ би на зарань ҆áврáмь стáнꙋ рáно at the dawn, Abraham woke up early
83: та подкани дво҆ица ѿ слꙋги́ те сво́й да по҆идать сась не́го so he urged two of his servants to go with him
дето покáза гд͒ь ҆áврамꙋ да заведѐ сн҃а свое́го ѝсака возлю́бленаго where God showed Abraham to take his beloved son Isaac
84: сасе́че дрь́ва he cleaved wood
85: ҆и нáтовари ҆една мь́ска сась дрьва and loaded an ass with wood
86: ҆и пове́де си́на свое́го возлю́бленаго да йде and he lead his beloved son to go
87: ҆и ѡти́де and he left
88: до тре́ти день сти́гнꙋ до ѡнáꙗ горà гдето мꙋ бе́ше показáль мл͒тиви бг҃ь in three days he reached the mountain, which merciful God had shown him
89: ҆и ре́че ҆áврáмь на слꙋги́ те свой and Abraham said to his servants
90: ҆ѡстане́те ви́е тꙋка под та҆ꙗ́ го́ра ʺYou stay here in the foothills of this mountainʺ (lit. ʺunder this mountainʺ)
91: ҆а ние да йдеме сась ҆исака го́ре на горá та да се покло́ниме х͒ꙋ б҃ꙋ ʺso that we go up to the mountain with Isaac to bow to Christ the Godʺ
92: ҆и пакь щеме сле́зна тꙋ́ка при вáсь ʺand we will come down to you againʺ
93: па тоги́ва ꙋ̀зе ҆исакь дрьва на рáмо то́ си so then Isaac took wood on his shoulder
94: та ги поне́се so he carried it
95: ҆и аврáмь ꙋзе ҆о́гнь ҆и но́жь and Abrahan took fire and a knife
96: ҆и като ҆излезоха горе на плàнинá та and as they came up to the mountain
тогива се ҆ѡбрьнꙋ ҆исакь кáмто ҆о́ц҃а свое́го ҆áврáма then Isaac turned to his father Abraham
97: тá го пита and asked him
98: го͒подине мо́й ҆о́ч҃е етѐ дрьва ї ҆ѡгнь ҆и но́жь ʺMy lord, father, behold the wood and the fire and the knifeʺ
99: ҆áми гдѐ ҆есть ҆о́ве́нь за клáне ҆о́ч҃е мой ʺbut where is the ram for the slaughter?ʺ
100: тоги́ва ҆аврам ре́че Then Abraham said
101: дá ще гд͒ь ҆о́ве́нь че́до моѐ ми́ло ʺGod will provide a ram, my dear childʺ
102: ҆и ко́га изле́зоха нáврьх планинá та and when they came to the top of the mountain
сь́пнꙋ ҆áврам сѝнꙋ сво́емꙋ нозе́ те ҆и рꙋце́ те Abraham bound the legs and the arms of his son
103: ҆и посе́гнꙋ да ꙋзме но́жь дá го зако́ле and he reached out to take a knife to slay him
104: тоги́ва ре́че ҆исáкь ҆о́ц҃ꙋ сво́емꙋ then Isaac said to his father
105: гп͒оди́не мо́й ҆о́ч҃е ҆ѡскꙋбѝ ми ѿ главнѝ ко́си ʺo my lord, my father, pluck hair off my headʺ
106: та ꙋсꙋчи поворꙋ ʺand twist a stringʺ
107: та ми све́р͛жи нозе́ те ҆и рꙋце́ те ʺand tie my legs and armsʺ
108: да не бѝ некáкво ритнáль сась но́гꙋ ҆или сáсь рꙋкꙋ ʺso that I would not somehow kick with a leg or with an armʺ
да те ꙋби́емь ҆о́че ʺand kill you, fatherʺ
109: та не ще би́ти мл҃тва бг҃ꙋ ҆о́ꙋгодна ʺthen the prayer would not be pleasing to Godʺ
110: то́ва ре́че ҆исакь ҆о́ц҃ꙋ своемꙋ ҆áврáмꙋ Isaac said this to his father Abraham
111: ҆и то҆ꙗ́ час дойде ҆áр͛хангель миха҆иль In this moment (lit. hour) Archangel Michael came
112: тá се ҆ꙗ́вѝ àврамꙋ and he appeared to Abraham
113: ҆и рече and said
114: ҆áврáме ҆áврáме не ҆ѡстáви но́жь на си́на твое́гѡ ʺAbraham, Abraham, lay not the knife upon your son!ʺ
115: не дей да го зако́лешь ʺDo not slay him!ʺ
116: защо̀ разꙋмѐ бг҃ь че и́машь мло́го ми҃лось кáмто бг҃а ʺFor God recognized that you have love for Godʺ
117: ѿи не пожалѝ си́на сво́его ҆исака ʺfor you did not spare your son Isaacʺ
118: ҆áми ще́ше да го зако́лешь за любо́вь бж҃ию ʺand you were going to slay him for the love of Godʺ
119: ҆и погле́да ҆áврамь and Abraham looked
120: ҆и ви́де ҆áн͛г҃ель гд͒нь дрь́жи ҆о́ве́нь за ро́гь and saw the Angel of God holding a ram by the horn
҆и приве́зань за дрь́во and tied to a tree
121: тоги́ва ҆áврáмь ꙋзе ҆о́но́гова ҆о́вна then Abraham took that ram
122: ҆и закла го наместо си́на свое́гѡ ҆исáка and he slew it instead of his son Isaac
123: ҆и тамо виде ҆áврáмь си́лꙋ ҆и слáвꙋ бж҃ию на ҆ѡнꙋю плáнинꙋ and there on that mountain Abraham saw the power and glory of God
124: ҆и па ре́че ҆áр͛хан͛гел михайль and so Archangel Michael said
125: ҆áврáме гд͒ь ще да тѝ ꙋмно́жи семе́ то ҆и ро́да тво́его ʺAbraham, God shall multiply your seed and your kinʺ
кáто ѕве́зди небе́сние ҆и като пе́сокь мор͛ски ʺas the stars of the sky and as the sand of the seaʺ
126: ҆и почете́на ще да бꙋ́де дꙋма тво́ꙗ по свѝ ҆езицѝ ʺand your word shall be honored in all languagesʺ
127: па тоги́ва сле́зе ҆áврáмь сáсь їсáка си́на сво́его and then Abraham went down with Isaac, his son
128: ҆и ѡтиде́ си ва до́мь сво́й and went to his home
129: васе́гда ни́нѣ ҆и присно ҆и во ве́ки все́гда веко́вь forever and ever
130: ҆áми́нь === amen
