13: | volove imaše dve xiljadi | he had two thousand oxen |

23: | takovo vreme dočeka | he suffered such times |
24: | zašto mu i snaga ta oživiniče | that his body got covered with scrofula |
25: | i ležeše kato nikoi na bunište isъfrъlenъ | and he lied there like nobody, thrown away at a dumping ground |
26: | i čirepъ ne maše da si ostruže snaga ta | he did not either have a splitter to scrape his body |
27: | i xlebъ ne maše da ede ili krъčagъ vodu da pie | nor did he have bread to eat or a jug to drink water |
28: | a žena negova stanula sirotica | Meanwhile his wife became a pauper |
29: | i xodeše ot xižu do xižu ta proseše xlebъ ta mu prinoseše | and she went from hut to hut to beg for bread and bring it to him |

37: | nali si žena bezъumna | ʺAre you a reckless woman?ʺ |
38: | kakvo da poxulimъ na bga kogi ni beše dalъ bgъ tolъkova dobro | ʺWhy should I blaspheme God, when he gave us so much good?ʺ |
39: | nali znaešъ kakvo se radvaxъmo o bezumnice | ʺYou know how happy we were, oh you reckless oneʺ |
40: | a sъga kakvo da ne pretrъpimo tova zlo | ʺWhy should we now not bear through this evil?ʺ |
41: | i tako provodi iovъ svoi dni u bolestъ | And so Job spent his days in illness |
42: | zašto beše pravedenъ člvekъ bžii | for he was a righteous man of God |
43: | beše crkovnikъ i posnikъ i bgu ugodenъ | he was a man of the church, he was a faster and pious |
44: | ta mu zavide dijavolъ | so the Devil got envious of him |
45: | ta se obzaloži sasъ drugago diavola | and laid a bet with another devil |
46: | ta mu izъmori sva ta stoka što imaše bogati iovъ | and killed all the stock that the wealthy Job had |
47: | posle mu izmori snove te i dъšteri te | then he killed his sons and daughters |
48: | i obraxa mu srebro to i zlato to | and they robbed him of his silver and gold |
49: | nai posle diavolъ i nego poxraka | finally, the Devil spat on him too |
50: | ta stanu sve rana snaga ta mu | and his body became full of wounds |
51: | i oživiniče | and it caught scrofula |
52: | ta tečeše gnoi | so pus was running |
53: | i beše fanul črъvja u snaga ta | and his body got infected with worms |
54: | i ne možeše da se preobrъne na druga ta strana ot bolesti | and he could not turn on the other side because of sickness |
55: | ta pa nikakvo ne poxuli na bga | but he did not defame God |
56: | čuete li xrtiani koliko ljubov imaše bogati iovъ za bga | Do you, christians, hear how much love for God the wealthy Job had? |
57: | i sprosilъ beše diavolъ ot bga da oskrъbi iova | The Devil had asked God to offend Job |
da go ispita dali šte ljubi iovъ bga na skrъbno vreme | in order to test him if he will love God in times of sorrow | |
58: | a bgъ znaeše če ne šte iovъ da poxuli na bga | but God knew Job will not defame God |
59: | tъkmo si šteja bgъ da go ostavi da potegli zlo za uverenie | yet God wanted him to suffer evil for the sake of belief |
da verъvamo i nija na tija zločesti dni naši | so that we, too, have faith in these bad days | |
60: | i doide vreme i denъ da si služi iovъ stago oca nikolaju | and the time and day came for Job to make a service to the holy father (St.) Nicholas |
61: | niti ima pari da si kupi vosokъ | he did not have money to buy himself wax |
62: | niti ima da si kupi ѳimjanъ | nor did he have (money) to buy himself incense |

63: | toko brъknu u pazuxu | he just put his hand in his neckline |
64: | ta izvadi ot snaga ta si tri črъvja | and he took three worms out of his body |
65: | i reče na žena ta si | and he said to his wife: |
66: | na ti tija tri črъvove | ʺHere, (take) these three worms,ʺ |
67: | da otidešъ na pazarъ | ʺgo to the marketʺ |
68: | da gi dadešъ | ʺgive themʺ |
69: | za edinъ črъvъ da uzmešъ žito | ʺtake grain for one wormʺ |
70: | a za drugi vosokъ | ʺand for another one waxʺ |
71: | a za tretija da zemešъ ѳimianъ | ʺand for the third one take incenseʺ |
72: | a obidnica žena reče | and the wretch of a woman said: |
73: | člveče bžii koi xoče tebe da uzme črъvja | ʺOh you, man of God, who would want to take worms from youʺ |
da ti dade žito i vosokъ i ѳimjanъ | ʺto give you grain and wax and incense?ʺ | |
74: | a iovъ reče | And Job said: |
75: | ti idi sasъ ime bžie | ʺYou go with God's nameʺ |
76: | i pomoli se stomu nikolaju | ʺand pray to Saint Nicholasʺ |
77: | uze štešъ potrebiju | ʺyou will get what you needʺ |
78: | i ona uze tija tri črъvove | And she took these three worms |
79: | i vrъza gi u krъpu | and she tied them in a cloth |
80: | i zanese gi na pazarъ | and she took them to the market |
81: | i reče | and she said |
82: | dukjanъџio za ime bžie na ti tija tri črъvove | ʺO merchant, in the name of God, here, (take) these three wormsʺ |
83: | ta mi dai makarъ tri zrъna žito i malo vosokъ i ѳimjan | ʺand give me even if only three grains of wheat and a little wax and incenseʺ |
da si otslužimo stago oca nikolaju | ʺso that we serve the holy father Nicholasʺ | |
84: | i onja dukjanъџia uze krъpa ta sasъ črъvove te | And that merchant took the cloth with the worms |
85: | i turi ju na lavicu | and he put it on the shelf |
86: | i dade na žena ta žito i vosokъ i ѳimianъ | and gave the woman wheat and wax and incense |
87: | i otide si žena ta | and the woman left |
88: | a dukjanъџia razъvrъza krъpu da vidi kakvi su tija črъvove | and the merchant untied the cloth to see what these worms were |
89: | kogi pogleda u krъpa ta tri žlъtici | when he looked, in the cloth (were) three gold coins |
90: | a onъ skoro trъča po neja da ju gi dade | and he soon ran after her to give them back to her |
91: | i ne može da ju naide | and he could not find her |

93: | posle iovina žena svari onova žito | Then Job's wife cooked the wheat |
94: | i otslužixu si stago nikolaju | and they served Saint Nicholas |
95: | i osta imъ edna krivačka vareno žito | and they were left with a handful of cooked wheat |
96: | iovъ reče | Job said |
97: | supružnice moja uzmi tova žito | ʺO my wife, take this wheatʺ |
98: | i vrъži go u krъpu | ʺand tie it in a clothʺ |
99: | i dobre go skri da ni bude gotovo za na godinъ | ʺand hide it well so that it is ready for us in a yearʺ |
100: | če ne ma i togiva za što da si kupimo | ʺbecause then there will be nothing to buy for, tooʺ |
101: | i ona skri žito to | And she hid the wheat |
102: | kogi bi do godinu doide denъ paki da si služutъ stago nikolaju | When a year passed, the day for the service to St. Nicholas came again. |

i tvori znamenie i čudesa | and creates omens and miracles? | |
111: | posle iovъ ozdrave | Then Job recovered |
112: | i dobi poveče stoku | and he got more stock |
113: | i dobi poveče srebro i zlato | and he got more silver and gold |
114: | i dobi drugi sinove i dъšteri | and he got other sons and daughters |
115: | razumexъte li xristijane | Did you understand, Christians? |
116: | tova bgъ javi da vidimo nie i da vervamo gda našego iisa xrta i da drъžimo sti praznici | God showed this for us to see and believe our God Jesus Christ and to hold the holy holidays |
117: | dosta su namъ u nedelju tu šesъ dni da rabotimo | To work six days a week is pretty much for us |
118: | sedъmi denъ stuju nedelju da praznuvamo | let us celebrate the seventh day, the holy Sunday |
119: | ta da ni bgъ pomiluva i da ni pomogne vo slavu bžiju | so that God reprieves us and helps us in into God's glory |
