3: го́ре мне ҆ѡкаꙗномꙋ] (the fate is) bitter for my poor self
4: [Почехь писати сїе сказанїе] [Гл҃големи прологь] [Вь лето ·҂аѱчѕ·] I began to write this text called ʺPrologueʺ in year 1796
5: азь поп пꙋно бг҃ꙋ единомꙋ согрешихь [♣] I, priest Puno, sinned in front of the only God
6: гд͒и гд͒и не ѿвьр͛жи мене ѿ лица твоего o Lord, do not cast me away from your face
7: ҆ис͒е сп͒е моѝ блꙋднаго сп͒и ме o Jesus, my saviour, save me, the sinful one
8: сп͒е моѝ їс҃е прїими́ ме блꙋ́днаго o my saviour, Jesus, accept me, the sinful one
9: ҆и ме́не нинꙗ п now have mercy with me
10: їи͒с҃е много мл͒ти́ве сп͒и и ꙋщедри́ ме o most merciful Jesus, save and spare me
11: ѡ͒ їс҃е бл҃годáтелю еди́нꙋ же запове́дь твою на земли не сотворих o Jesus, you giver of good, I have not fulfilled a single task you gave me on the earth
12: како ҆ꙗ́влю́ се те́бе седѧ́щомꙋ на пт͒оле how shall I appear to you, sitting on a throne?
13: ҆и кое сло́во да воздáмь те́бе хр͒те мо́й And which answer should I give you, my Christ
14: ҆и ҆и сꙋ́дь сотворю̀ ѡ͒ все́хь ҆ꙗ́же вавїде́ни ҆и не вавїде́ни and I will judge about everything good I did, which could be seen or not (?)
15: кое добро соде҆ꙗ́хь what good I did?
16: хр͒те мо́й ис͒е o, my Jesus Christ
17: тем͛ же зовꙋ́ти тво́й слꙋ́ги мл҃твáми and your servants call you with prayers (?)
18: їс҃е сп͒и ме грешго o Jesus, save me, the sinful one
19: гд͒и бж҃е мо́и те́бе еди́номꙋ согреши́хь o Lord, my God, I sinned to you, the only one
20: но ѿ тебе хр͒те мо́й не ѿстꙋпи́хь but from you, my Christ, I did not step back
21: поми́лꙋ ме не достойнаго Have mercy with me, the unworthy one
22: гд͒и ꙋслишѝ мл҃твꙋ мою o Lord, hear my prayer
23: їи͒се сп͒е мо́й ҆очистѝ гре́хи мо҆ꙗ́ o Jesus, my Savior, wash away my sins
24: ҆и сп͒и ме and save me
25: ҆ꙗ́коже ҆иногда блꙋ́дницꙋ разбо҆иника же ҆и блꙋ́днаго ҆и ме́не нынѣ всѐ щедре поми́лꙋи as once the harlot, the robber, and the prodigal (son), thus be most graciously merciful to me now
26: бл҃гоꙋтро́бине гд͒и ҆и мꙋки ҆избави́ ме o most benevolent Lord, save me from the torture
27: дол͛го трьпели́ве гд͒и o long-patient Lord
28: слáва те́бе Glory be to you!
29: === Сь бг҃омь почехь писáти сказáнїе сїе до кон͛ца на простаго ҆ꙗ́зи́ка With God, I began to write this tale to the end in the simple language
҆áзь попа пꙋн͛чо ѿ село мо́крешь me, pop Punčo from the village of Mokreš
30: си́ѧ словесà савакꙋпи́хь ва единѡ [ме] I collected these words (texts?) in a single (tome?)
31: ми (open?) my eyes, so that I can see
҆оч҃и да ви́димь We want to see and to hear your words and to understand your causes, Lord
҆и да чꙋ́емь .:. словесà твоѧ̀ and so that I hear your words
҆и да разꙋме́емь делà твоѩ̀ гд͒и and so that I understand your works, o Lord
32: ҆и да тво́римь волю твою̀ бж҃е мо́й and may I do your will, my God
33: защо смь ҆áзь като ҆еди́нь пришале́ць нá землю because I am like a foreigner in the world
34: не скрѝ ѿ ме́не зáпове́дь тво́й бж҃е мой o my God, do not hide from me your command
35: но ѿкрѝ ҆о́ч҃и мо́й да разꙋмеемь чꙋдесà твоѧ̀ ѿ зако́на:. твое́го but open my eyes so that we understand your wonders, from your law
36: ҆и скажи́ ми премꙋ́дрости твоѧ̀ And tell me of your wisdom
37: те́бе се мо́лимь бж҃е мо́й: I pray you, my God
38: ти просветѝ ҆ꙋмь мо́и you do enlighten my mind
39: ҆и ми́сль мою ꙋтвер͛ди and make my mind strong
да полꙋ́чимь ҆и азь мно́го гре́шни рáбь тво́й цр҃ьство твоѐ нб͒ное съ ми́ромь so that I, your most sinful servant, may receive your heavenly kingdom with peace
40: ҆и ѿ тебе ес͆ васáкь дарь сьврьше́нь са ви́ше And from you every gift is always perfect
41: ами́нь .:. amen
